I dunno… it was good but kinda bland. Needs some spices or something.
I totally agree! A bit of garlic or some Italian seasoning could kick it up a notch. Maybe even some red pepper flakes for a bit of heat!
Easy and quick! Perfect for busy nights. Will make it again!
I totally agree! So easy to whip up after a long day. Love this recipe!
Could’ve been better. The sauce was kinda bland, not enough flavor.
Meatball sub casserole? Sounds like a mix-up to me. Not a fan of any subs.
I think it’s a great idea! Meatballs and cheese make everything better. Give it a try!
Just because it’s a sub form doesn’t mean it’s bad! Everyone has their tastes, I guess.
I made this last night and it was gone in minutes! Definitely a keeper! 😍
I’m so glad you liked it! It’s super easy, right? 🙌
Gone that quick? Looks like I gotta try it, but I ain’t a fan of meatballs tho 🤔.
This is the best thing ever! I added some spices and it was super tasty!
Could’ve used more sauce. Mine dried out slightly because my marinara was thicker, so I added a splash of water and stirred a bit before baking.
Good call on thinning the marinara—mine was a little thick too once and it dried out in the same way. I usually add a splash of water or extra sauce before baking so it stays saucy.
Oh my gosh, this was so delicious! My kids loved it! I will definitely make it again.
So glad to hear that! My kids loved it too! Easy and yummy!
Its ok, but I prefer making my own meatballs. It feels healthier.
Homemade is always better! But this casserole sounds super easy for a busy night. Maybe I’ll give it a try once! 😊
Why toast the rolls only in the last 5 minutes? I tried it and they burned fast. I’d rather toast separately or cover them with foil.
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of meatballs and this didn’t change my mind. Too saucy for me.
My oven is broken, can I just microwave it? 🤔
Not as good as I imagined. The rolls got too soggy. Next time I’ll toast them first, I guess?
This recipe is amazing! So easy and so delicious. My family loved it!
But like, are frozen meatballs really that good? I’ve always made my own. 🤔
I’m glad you loved it! It’s super easy and perfect for family dinners. 😊
This was absolutely delicious! The kids loved it!
I don’t know about this. Frozen meatballs? Come on, use fresh ones! 🙄
I get your point, but frozen meatballs are super convenient! Not everyone has time to make fresh ones. 🤷♀️
Yum! The mozzarella was really stretchy! Can I use fresh meatballs instead?
Yummy! But where’s the garlic? Needs more seasoning, tho.
Way too much cheese for me. I think half would be better 🙄
This is a game changer! So easy to make and my kids loved it!
Casseroles are overrated. I prefer my meatballs on spaghetti.
Meatball sub casserole sounds delish! But why put it in a casserole? Just makes it a mess, lol.
Meatball sub casserole? sounds genius. Kids ate it without complaining (rare!).
Best casserole ever. Would recommend100%. Easy and so filling!!
I was skeptical about frozen meatballs, but they actually worked well here.
Too easy, not adding this to my dinner rotation. Can’t even call it a casserole.
Yum!! Cheese and meatballs, what’s not to like? This dish was a hit at our family dinner!
Totally agree! This dish is super easy and so tasty. My kids loved it too!
Meh. I thought this was gonna be great but it was just alright. Had to add hot sauce.
Maybe it needed more seasoning? I think it sounds good but I guess everyone has different tastes.
Hot sauce? Seriously? This is a meatball sub casserole, not a taco! 🤦♂️
Tasty but I forgot the parm cheese and it was still good! Gonna try again with it next time.
Easy peasy! Didn’t have sub rolls, used regular bread. Still turned out great!
This sounds good, but can I bake it for longer? I like it crunchy.
I can’t believe how quick this was to make! I added some peppers and onions for extra flavor.
Sounds delish! I love adding extra veggies for flavor too. Can’t wait to try this!
Not bad, but it was way too cheesy for my taste. Maybe less mozzarella next time?
Meatball casserole yum
I made it without sub rolls, just served it with pasta and it was yum!
I’m not a fan of meatballs, but my family loved this! They asked for seconds!
That’s awesome! Even if you don’t like meatballs, it’s great that your family found it delicious. Gotta please the crowd, right?
This is the best recipe ever! My kids loved it!
5 stars! So cheesy and comforting. I can devour this whole dish!
This sounds amazing! I love cheesy dishes too. What a great comfort food!
I love this recipe! It was so easy to make and cleanup was a breeze! Perfect for busy nights.
Yummy! I wanna make this for my friends when they come over. Perfect for a party!
That sounds great! Meatball subs are always a hit at parties! Have fun!
The instructions are simple, but I wish it mentioned whether to thaw the meatballs first. I baked them from frozen and they were hot eventually, just not “even” in the middle.
Ehhh, it was ok. The meatballs were kinda bland.
I followed the recipe but it didn’t turn out well. My meatballs were still frozen in the middle. Maybe I need to bake longer?
I was skeptical about using frozen meatballs, but honestly it came out tasty. Next time I might add some garlic powder or Italian seasoning because it feels a little plain on its own.
Totally get being skeptical—frozen stuff can be hit or miss. Glad it worked for you! Garlic powder and Italian seasoning would definitely level it up. Next time I’d also add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
Hmm… I tried something like this once and it tasted “plain” too. But I think the marinara matters most—like use a better sauce. Also, wouldn’t you toast the rolls in the casserole the whole time? Mine got mushy when I did it late.
Meatballs and sauce! What’s not to love!
What do you mean by frozen meatballs? Can’t we use fresh? Seems weird. But maybe I’ll try it.
Great recipe but I accidentally burnt the rolls! Oops.
I dunno man, how effective is putting in frozen meatballs? Seems weird.
So easy and delicious! I added some bell peppers for extra flavor, yum!
I can’t believe how simple this was! The bell peppers were a great idea, it gives it a nice crunch. Will make again for sure!
My family loved it! I added sliced peppers and onions in the baking dish and it became like a whole sandwich vibe in casserole form.
That sounds awesome—peppers and onions definitely make it more sandwich-y. I’m stealing that idea next time!
Don’t think this is real pasta, more like a sloppy joe with rolls!
5 stars!! This recipe is a lifesaver for busy nights! I do wish the rolls were crisper tho.
I totally agree! It saves me so much time after work. But yeah, crisper rolls would be nice. Maybe broil them a bit longer next time?
My husband said it tasted like school lunches from the 90s… not sure if that’s good!
My kids always request this! So many cheese, yum. It’s like a pizza but better!
I just used whatever cheese I had in the fridge, still turned out great.
Not bad at all—pretty comforting. I used fresh meatballs once and they cooked fine, but I think the time would need adjusting. The parmesan on the rolls is a nice touch.
This is such an easy “weeknight win” version of a meatball sub. I love that you just bake everything together and the cheese gets perfectly bubbly. 375°F for 30 minutes worked great for my oven.
Hated it. Cheese was all gooey and the rolls got soggy. Not worth the hassle.
Sorry to hear that! Maybe next time try a different cheese? Not all cheeses melt the same way.
So can I use fresh meatballs? Or need frozen ones only? confused.
This recipe is like a party in my mouth! 😋
Meatballs and marinara? Sounds a bit basic. Where’s the fun in that?
This feels like cheating – using frozen meatballs? Can’t we make our own? But anyways, it tasted good.
Frozen meatballs are so much easier! Who’s got time to make their own? Glad you liked it!
I followed it exactly and it tasted… kinda like school cafeteria pizza. The cheese was good though. The rolls got toasted but maybe too crispy for me.
Haha I get what you mean—mine tasted similar at first, but I fixed it by adding a little garlic powder + extra marinara on top before baking. The cheese is definitely the MVP though 😄
Maybe you overcooked it? 25-30 min can make the rolls way too hard if your oven runs hot. I’d do 20-25 for the casserole then toast the rolls less time. Also school cafeteria pizza is not a bad review lol
Good but took longer than I thought. Maybe next time I’ll precook the meatballs.
