Stuffing-Seasoned Focaccia

January 31, 2025

Stuffing-seasoned focaccia is a savory and aromatic bread that combines the rich, soft texture of focaccia with the herbed goodness of classic stuffing seasonings. This flavorful twist on the traditional Italian bread infuses it with the savory, warm spices typically found in stuffing, making it the perfect side dish for holiday meals, family gatherings, or any occasion where you want a bread with a bit more flavor and flair.

To make stuffing-seasoned focaccia, the dough is prepared just like traditional focaccia, with a simple blend of flour, yeast, water, olive oil, and salt. Once the dough has risen and is ready for baking, a generous mix of stuffing seasonings is added to infuse it with the rich flavors of traditional stuffing. The seasoning mix typically includes a combination of sage, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, and a touch of onion powder, which together create the warm, comforting aroma and taste reminiscent of a holiday meal.

The seasoned dough is then pressed into a baking sheet, creating the signature dimpled surface of focaccia. As the dough rises and bakes, the olive oil added to the dough gives it a crisp, golden-brown crust, while the herbs infuse every bite with aromatic flavor. The final result is a fluffy, soft interior with a crisp exterior that’s bursting with the savory goodness of stuffing.

For an added touch, you can sprinkle more herbs and a little sea salt on top of the dough before baking, allowing the flavors to come through in every bite. You could also add sautéed onions or bits of dried fruit, like cranberries, to give the bread a more complex flavor profile.

Stuffing-seasoned focaccia pairs perfectly with roasted meats, soups, or salads and makes a wonderful accompaniment to your holiday table. It can be served warm, drizzled with a little more olive oil, or even used for sandwiches. The bread’s aromatic herby flavor will quickly make it a favorite addition to any meal.

Focaccia is so good! I love how versatile it is. You did well with the regular bread flour, but try it with the all-purpose flour next time for the real deal. It’ll blow your mind!

Fancy? It’s just bread! I don’t get why people make such a big deal out of it. Regular bread is fine, if it works, it works!

  6. User avatar Mountain Minish says:

I thought focaccia was supposed to be softer? This turned out kinda tough. What did I do wrong?

  7. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

I followed the recipe exactly but it didn’t rise much. Maybe my yeast was old? Not sure if I’ll try again.

I dunno… stuffing in bread? Sounds weird. I mean, wouldn’t just plain focaccia be better? 🤷‍♂️

Too much salt! I followed the instructions and it’s way too salty for my taste. Will try it again without the salt.

    1. User avatar antione.abbott36 says:

      3 stars
Salt is good for flavor! Just slice it thinner if it’s too much for you. It’s still yummy! 😋

    2. 4 stars
I also thought it was too salty at first, but then I realized it just depends on the seasoning mix you use! Maybe try a different one next time?

  13. User avatar johnnie.grimes18 says:

    3 stars
Honestly, I think using stuffing seasoning is weird. I used garlic instead. Still came out decent.

    1. User avatar rey.metz1963 says:

      4 stars
I totally agree, stuffing seasoning is a bit odd for focaccia! Garlic is always a winner, glad it turned out decent for you! 🍞✨

  14. User avatar Al B. Tross says:

It was ok, but mine turned out a bit dry. Maybe I kneaded it too much?

    1. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

I tried it too and it was bliss! You nailed the flavor. 😊

    2. 3 stars
This focaccia sounds easy but bad things can happen, you know? Like too much yeast or not enough kneading.

  25. User avatar Augustina Friesen says:

    1 star
Y’all, I accidentally put in twice the salt. Ruined it. 😩

    1. User avatar Questular Rontok says:

      4 stars
Oh no! That’s happened to me before. Maybe you could try adding some sugar to balance it out next time?

    2. User avatar britt.leannon2018 says:

      2 stars
Twice the salt?! Yikes. I’m no chef, but that sounds like a total disaster. Just toss it and start over!

  26. 2 stars
Focaccia? More like focaccia my expectations! Didn’t rise well. 😕

  27. User avatar virgilio.grady says:

    2 stars
I don’t get how this can be stuffing-flavored? Stuffing is for Thanksgiving! Not bread fool!

    1. 5 stars
It’s worth a shot! I love stuffing and bread, so why not combine them? Just think outside the box! 😄

    2. User avatar sheena.gutmann11 says:

      3 stars
I totally get what you mean! Stuffing feels too seasonal for a bread recipe. But I guess flavors can mix, huh? Just doesn’t sound right to me.

  28. 5 stars
Yum! Made this for a party and everyone loved it. Gonna make it again for sure.

  29. User avatar butterfly says:

    1. User avatar pedro.lesch3 says:

I can’t believe stuffing mix is a thing for focaccia! Does it really taste that good? 🤔

  31. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

    2 stars
I tried this recipe but it didn’t rise properly. Maybe I did something wrong? 🤔

  32. User avatar Falmer Warmonger says:

The dough was so sticky, I couldn’t knead it properly. What did I do wrong?

    1. User avatar steve_maga says:

      4 stars
Sounds like you might not have floured your surface enough while kneading. Try adding more flour next time to cut the stickiness! 🤔

  33. User avatar apolonia.feest says:

    2 stars
This recipe is too complicated for me. Why do I need to knead dough? Can’t I just mix it and bake? 🤷‍♂️

  34. User avatar Caroyln Wolf says:

    4 stars
Is it wrong to substitute the stuffing mix with pizza seasoning? Asking for a friend.

  37. User avatar Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings says:

    4 stars
Great recipe, but I used garlic powder instead of the stuffing mix. Still came out delish!

  38. User avatar lorelei.ratke says:

    3 stars
Too much olive oil i think. Next time will use butter instead.

    1. User avatar mao.upton26 says:

      4 stars
I think butter would give it a nice flavor too! But the olive oil is traditional. Just personal taste, I guess.
