Chocolate Covered Banana Pops

July 22, 2025

Chocolate Covered Banana Pops are the kind of nostalgic treat that takes you straight back to summer afternoons, sticky fingers, and that perfect blend of frozen fruit and sweet chocolate. Whether you’re making them for kids, friends, or just yourself, they’re fun, easy to prepare, and surprisingly satisfying.

Start with ripe but firm bananas. Cut them in half and insert wooden sticks or sturdy skewers. From there, pop them in the freezer for about an hour, this helps firm them up so they don’t fall apart when dipped in warm chocolate. That chilled center also gives you that satisfying bite once they’re coated and re-frozen.

The magic is in the chocolate coating. A basic combo of melted chocolate chips with a little coconut oil gives the shell that perfect crack when you take a bite. You can use dark chocolate for a richer taste or milk chocolate for a classic twist. Either way, it turns into a glossy, beautiful shell once the bananas hit the cold air again.

Then comes the fun part – toppings. This is where you can go wild: crushed peanuts, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, even a swirl of peanut butter or caramel drizzle before the chocolate sets. Customize each pop to your taste or turn it into a group activity where everyone gets to build their own.

Once decorated, the banana pops go back into the freezer until the chocolate is set – just an hour or so, and then they’re ready to eat. They make for a great grab-and-go snack on hot days, a clever dessert for kids’ parties, or a low-effort, high-reward treat when you’re craving something sweet but not too heavy.

These banana pops are also a better-for-you dessert option, especially when made with dark chocolate and nuts. They’re naturally sweet from the fruit, with just enough indulgence to feel like a treat.

I tried this but my chocolate didn’t melt right. It clumped. Any advice?

These are drool-worthy! Made them for my family party and they disappeared fast!!!

    1. 5 stars
That sounds amazing! I’m definitely trying this for my next gathering! Thanks for sharing!

  3. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    3 stars
Just toooo sweet for my taste. I kinda wish there was a savory option!

  4. 3 stars
I’m not a fan of bananas but my friend said they were good. So I guess they must be?

    1. User avatar jesse.thompson93 says:

      3 stars
I don’t believe bananas can be good in that, but you should try it! Maybe you’ll surprise yourself!

    2. 4 stars
Bananas are great! But I guess if you don’t like them, it might not be for you. 🤷‍♂️

  5. User avatar mike.sipes68 says:

Why does my chocolate not stick? Anyone else have this problem?

    1. 4 stars
Maybe try cooling the chocolate a bit more before dipping? That worked for me! 🍌🍫

    2. 2 stars
I don’t understand, isn’t chocolate just supposed to stick? Are you using the right kind?

  6. User avatar normand.dickens67 says:

These banana pops are amazing! Super easy to make and my kids loved them.

I can’t believe something so simple can taste so good! My kids devoured them too!

Quick and simple. I skipped the sprinkles and they still looked good.

Popsicle sticks?? Where do I get those?? I’m a bit confused.

  10. User avatar jeanetta.schmeler says:

The idea is cute, but melting chocolate with the microwave works until it doesn’t—mine seized a bit. Next time I’ll lower the heat and stir more carefully.

    1. User avatar Lumberjack says:

      5 stars
Ugh, that sucks—chocolate seizing is the worst. I’ve found 20-sec bursts work better than longer nukes, and make sure no water gets in the bowl. Your plan to lower heat + stir more is solid!

    2. User avatar denny.waelchi1975 says:

      3 stars
Hmm I think the microwave instructions are a lil too vague. How low is “lower heat”? Also did you use coconut oil the whole time or maybe more/less? I feel like if it’s not fully smooth before dipping it just clumps.

  11. User avatar jeffrey.wilkinson says:

    5 stars
These were super delicious and easy to make! My kids loved dipping them in chocolate.

  12. 3 stars
Not sure what I did wrong, but my chocolate seized up. Very sad times. 😢

    1. User avatar dominic.predovic1978 says:

      4 stars
Oh no! That happened to me too once. Make sure to not get any water in the chocolate. It can ruin it! 😩

  13. User avatar Michael83 says:

    5 stars
Absolutely a hit at the party! They looked so cute and were gone in minutes.

    1. 2 stars
But aren’t bananas super high in sugar? Not sure if this is a healthy option…

    2. User avatar jesus.dach says:

      5 stars
I can’t believe how easy it was to make! The guests loved them too!

  14. User avatar willie.boehm88 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but my bananas were too ripe and got soft in the freezer. Next time I’ll grab firmer ones like the recipe says. Still tasted great though.

  15. User avatar Wispmother says:

    3 stars
Make sure bananas are not too ripe. It ruins the whole thing, trust me!

  16. User avatar wellRespected says:

    2 stars
I followed it exactly and honestly it was just okay. The banana flavor got a bit lost in the chocolate. Also, I used too many sprinkles and they slid off.

  17. User avatar jacinto.skiles says:

    3 stars
I think the chocolate overpowers the banana. Maybe try less chocolate next time?

  18. 5 stars
These banana pops are soooo good! Perfect for a summer treat.

  19. User avatar veta.veum says:

    4 stars
So easy to make and delicious! I added nuts instead of sprinkles.

    1. User avatar Renaldo D'Amore says:

      5 stars
Nuts are a great idea! I never thought of that. Will try it next time!

  20. User avatar mckinley.wunsch40 says:

    5 stars
These were insanely good—sweet, creamy, and not overly heavy. The sprinkles add a fun crunch too. I froze mine a bit longer and they came out perfectly solid.

  21. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz says:

    4 stars
My kids made them by themselves! Totally what we needed for family night. 🥳

Cool idea, but way too sweet for me. I need them to be less sugary.

    1. User avatar Siona Atreides says:

      4 stars
You can always adjust the amount of chocolate or skip the sprinkles! Glad you shared your thoughts. 🍌

  23. 4 stars
Yum! Can you use white chocolate instead? I think I’d like that better.

  24. User avatar Flame Atronach says:

    5 stars
These banana pops are awesome! So easy to make, and my kids loved them!

  25. 5 stars
Yum! I even added some peanut butter to the chocolate. Next level!

  26. User avatar Android 19 says:

    4 stars
I tried it and it worked, but I’m confused: “insert a popsicle stick into the flat end” — my bananas were round, so I just pushed the sticks in from the side. It still came out fine.

    1. User avatar riva.heller83 says:

      5 stars
That’s actually a smart adjustment—if the bananas are round, starting from the side makes sense. As long as the stick is snug before freezing, the coating should seal it in. Glad it still worked!

  27. User avatar king.hilpert says:

    2 stars
Tried this and the bananas got all mushy in the freezer. Not a fan.

    1. 4 stars
I think you might have left them in too long or something! Mine turned out great. Maybe try again? 🤷‍♂️

  28. User avatar keshia.sanford25 says:

    2 stars
This is just bananas dipped in chocolate, right? Not really a recipe…

  29. User avatar marcel.ullrich70 says:

    2 stars
Is it really neccessary to freeze the bananas first? Feels like a lot of work.

  30. User avatar destiny.bartoletti says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why everyone loves these so much. A banana is a banana, chocolate is eh. It’s just okay.

    1. 4 stars
I totally get what you mean, but I think the combo of banana and chocolate is just magical! It’s not just a banana when it’s dressed up like this. Give it another try!

    2. User avatar robert.sipes says:

      5 stars
Nah, I think you’re missing out. These are awesome! It’s like a treat without feeling too guilty. Plus, who doesn’t love chocolate?

  31. 4 stars
Simple and tasty. Thanks for sharing! 😋

  32. User avatar rudolph.pouros says:

    3 stars
I tried to make them without sprinkles and honestly… kind of plain. Still yummy, just not as fun looking.

  33. 5 stars
I made these for a party and they were a hit! Even my picky aunt liked them!

  34. 3 stars
Good idea, but my chocolate turned grainy after I waited too long between stirring increments. The directions are important!

  35. 4 stars
5 stars for sure! But what the heck are sprinkles? Can we just have chocolate?

  36. User avatar kyle.tillman2010 says:

    5 stars
So good!!! I didn’t have coconut oil so I used butter, still great.

    1. User avatar jeramy.yost1998 says:

      3 stars
But butter?? That’s not quite the same! You might want to try coconut oil next time for the real flavor! Still, glad you liked it!

  37. User avatar garret.williamson says:

    5 stars
    5 star!! So easy. 🍌🍫

    1. 5 stars
Yesss! These are dangerously good 😂 Banana + chocolate is a win every time.

    2. 4 stars
I tried this and it worked great, but I used too much coconut oil once and it got kinda runny. Still tasty though!

  38. User avatar Elva Walsh says:

    2 stars
Bananas froze fine but the sticks were messy. The sticks slid out when dipping—maybe I didn’t freeze hard enough.

    1. 5 stars
Totally makes sense—if the sticks are sliding, the banana may not be firm enough (or the stick isn’t going in snugly). Next time freeze them a bit longer, and try pushing the stick in a little deeper before freezing.

    2. User avatar blake.goyette60 says:

      4 stars
Hmm maybe your bananas were too ripe? I did this with firm bananas and it held. Also, when you dip, try moving fast and don’t roll them around in the chocolate too long or the outside starts to soften.

  39. User avatar herschel.bashirian69 says:

    4 stars
How do you store leftovers? If there are any, ha!

    1. User avatar mitchell.quitzon27 says:

      5 stars
I just put them in a container in the fridge. But honestly, I doubt I’ll have leftovers! These are too good!

    2. 4 stars
Leftovers? What’s that? I ate them all in one sitting! 😂

  40. User avatar patrick.collier says:

    2 stars
My bananas were mushy. I guess I used the wrong ones. How ripe should they be?

  41. 1 star
Bananas should not be frozen, it changes the texture!!!

  42. 4 stars
This recipe is so simple even my toddler helped! Perfect weekend activity.

  43. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

    4 stars
Honestly, how can banana and chocolate be bad? Simple and delicious!

  44. User avatar Flame Atronach says:

    1 star
I give it one star because I messed it up! Walmart is not a good place for chocolate chips it seems.

    1. User avatar gino.abbott16 says:

      4 stars
I’m sorry to hear that! Sometimes things just don’t go as planned. Better luck next time! 👍

  45. 2 stars
I followed it exactly and it tastes kinda bland. Like it’s missing salt or something. The sprinkles help but I think I’d add a pinch of flaky sea salt next time.

  46. User avatar janice.white says:

    4 stars
Why freeze for only 1 hour? I did 3 hours and the texture was better—more like an actual ice pop. Still good recipe, just adjust timing.

  47. User avatar abe.little says:

    5 stars
YUM! I want to eat them all. Just made a batch with my daughter 🙂

  48. User avatar heike.greenfelder1987 says:

    4 stars
Great recipe but my kids wanted more sprinkles. Next time, double the sprinkles!

    1. 5 stars
More sprinkles? You’re right! Kids love that extra crunch and color. Great idea!

  49. User avatar denyse.nienow27 says:

    1 star
Too much work for a banana, tbh. I made them and got a bit messy. I’ll just buy them next time.

  50. User avatar loyd.koch45 says:

    3 stars
Is it really necessary to freeze before dipping? I skipped that and it turned out fine.

  51. User avatar shanell.muller55 says:

    5 stars
Soooo good. One of my kids ate three like instantly. Also the chocolate didn’t crack when bitten, which is rare for me.

  52. 4 stars
Could be just me, but the chocolate got a little thick when I waited too long between melting and dipping. Still tasty though.

  53. 5 stars
Who knew something so simple could be so good?!

  54. 4 stars
Wait—15 minutes to set??? I feel like chocolate always takes longer for me lol. But I’m giving it 4 because it still hardened eventually.

  55. 3 stars
So simple! But the chocolate wouldn’t stick right. What did I do wrong? 🙁

    1. User avatar chae.labadie says:

      3 stars
Dunno, it worked for me! Did you melt the chocolate right? It has to be smooth.

    2. 4 stars
Maybe you didn’t let the bananas freeze long enough? That could make the chocolate slide off.

  56. User avatar Trent Daniel says:

    5 stars
These are super easy to make and a hit with the kids! We loved them.

  57. 5 stars
These banana pops are amazing! My kids love them.

  58. User avatar Zaphod Beeblebrox says:

    2 stars
I don’t understand why people would want to freeze bananas. It just not right!

  59. User avatar rodolfo.vonrueden52 says:

    5 stars
Really good idea for using ripe-but-firm bananas. The coconut oil made the chocolate smooth, and dipping was way less messy than I expected.

    1. User avatar rebecca.skiles67 says:

      5 stars
Yes! I tried this with bananas that were firm but still sweet, and the chocolate actually stayed smooth instead of getting grainy. Freezing really helps the dipping too—way less of a mess than other recipes I’ve used.

  60. 3 stars
Delicious but I substituted white chocolate and it was a big mistake lol!

  61. User avatar wilburn.lubowitz says:

    3 stars
Too much chocolate for my taste, maybe just drizzle next time.

  62. 3 stars
I tried it but the chocolate didn’t melt right. What did I do wrong?

  63. User avatar merrill.ratke2015 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I thought the banana would turn icy and gross, but it didn’t. The coconut oil probably helped keep the chocolate smooth.

  64. User avatar sherrie.beahan18 says:

    2 stars
Bananas and chocolate is a classic, but I feel like this is too much work.

  65. User avatar kristofer.rippin says:

    4 stars
    great snack

    1. User avatar jared.gaylord says:

      5 stars
These are super easy to make! I love how the chocolate hardens nicely. Perfect for a hot day!

  66. User avatar Al Gore Rythim says:

    5 stars
    Yum! 🍌🍫

  67. 4 stars
Yum! Choco-banana goodness! I added crushed nuts instead of sprinkles. Delicious!

  68. User avatar adam.gottlieb says:

    4 stars
My sprinkles didn’t stick well, any tips for that?

    1. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

      4 stars
Try letting the chocolate cool a bit before dipping! That might help the sprinkles stick better.

    2. User avatar melissia.kuvalis says:

      3 stars
I just poured the sprinkles straight away and it worked fine for me!

  69. User avatar elenore.goyette20 says:

    5 stars
These are amazing! Kids loved helping make them. Will definitely make again!

  70. User avatar ashlea.parisian1990 says:

I did not hav coconut oil, used butter instead. Still taste good!

    1. User avatar Galaxia Woonbeam says:

      5 stars
Butter is a great substitute! Glad it worked out for you.

  71. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    4 stars
Mine stuck to the parchment a little even though it was lined. Maybe I should let them sit 5 minutes before moving? Still tasty though.

  72. User avatar amos.abshire says:

    3 stars
I followed the steps but my chocolate didn’t look glossy, more like thick chunks. I think I didn’t stir enough between microwaving rounds. It ended up edible, just not pretty.

  73. 5 stars
Yum! A tasty treat for summer parties. 🍌🍫

Idk if I did it wrong but mine were super melty in like 10 minutes. I live in a hot apartment though.

    1. User avatar Oolon Colluphid says:

      4 stars
Oof yeah, a hot apartment can definitely make them melt faster 😅 I’d try chilling the banana halves a bit longer before dipping and also pop the tray back in the freezer for a couple extra minutes right after dipping.

    2. 3 stars
Mine did the same thing!! I think I waited too long between taking them out and dipping. Also my chocolate felt kinda thin—maybe I used more oil than it said? Next time I’ll let the chocolate cool slightly before coating.

  76. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, 1 cup chocolate chips felt like not enough for all banana halves… I had to melt more. Otherwise good idea, just scale it.

  77. User avatar suanne.haag says:

    3 stars
Mine slid off the stick a bit… maybe I didn’t insert it deep enough. Flavor was great, presentation was meh.

  78. User avatar shizue.koss2 says:

    3 stars
Sprinkles are unnecessary. Just chocolate is enough for me. Too much sugar.

  79. User avatar chadwick.cormier49 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, my chocolate seized when I microwaved it—maybe my bowl was too hot? I ended up adding a tiny bit more oil and stirring forever. Still good after fixing it.

  80. User avatar veronica.dicki43 says:

    5 stars
Bananas? Chocolate? Yum!!! Totally making these for my party!

    1. User avatar wellRespected says:

      5 stars
Sounds amazing! Your guests are gonna love these!

  81. User avatar Chaurus Hunter says:

    3 stars
Mine didn’t fully coat evenly—felt like the chocolate was a little thick. Maybe my bananas were too cold? Still tasty though.

  82. User avatar michelina.gusikowski82 says:

    2 stars
I tried this but my chocolate wouldn’t melt right. So frustrating!

  83. 5 stars
Wow—so easy and actually feels fancy. My kids loved them and I didn’t even have to bake anything. Banana pops are a win.

  84. User avatar enrique.blick5 says:

    5 stars
These turned out way better than I expected—crispy chocolate shell, and the banana stayed super flavorful. The coconut oil made the melt really smooth.

  85. 4 stars
Could’ve used a bit more instruction on dipping—like how long to let it drip. Mine ran down the sides and made a mess, but the taste was still awesome.

    1. User avatar Ma'randru-jo says:

      5 stars
Ahh that makes sense! I usually let them hang over the bowl for like 5–10 seconds so it drips off most of the way. If the bananas are too cold/thawed weirdly, the chocolate can run fast—your taste still winning is a good sign though 😄

  86. User avatar brad.zulauf65 says:

    5 stars
    One word: Yum.

    1. User avatar Kristopher Quitzon says:

      4 stars
Wait, do you really freeze them first? I might skip that step next time… unless it makes them easier to dip? (Also, “yep” yum 😅)

    2. User avatar Hwi Noree says:

      5 stars
Yesss—those look like the perfect sweet treat. Love how simple the chocolate layer is with coconut oil.

  87. User avatar sam.yundt1994 says:

    5 stars
So easy! I used dark chocolate chips and added sprinkles for fun. Freeze time mattered—mine were perfect after the full hour.

  88. User avatar Patton Down DeHatches says:

    1 star
I thought this was gonna be healthy but it’s just chocolate and bananas. That’s not healthy!

  89. User avatar oscar.streich says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, 1 cup chocolate chips feels like overkill for only 2 bananas. I had a lot left. But the coating was thick so maybe that’s the point.

    1. User avatar Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule says:

      4 stars
Yeah I get what you mean—1 cup for 2 bananas sounds like a lot. I still like it though because the coating ends up nice and even instead of skimpy.

  90. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    2 stars
The instruction says freeze at least an hour—i did 20 mins cuz i was hungry lol. It didn’t coat well, tasted good but looked ugly.

  91. User avatar corey.pouros30 says:

    5 stars
These turned out way better than I expected. The coconut oil makes the chocolate super smooth, and the bananas actually taste like dessert instead of “healthy-ish.” Will make again!

    1. User avatar louisa.jakubowski1969 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I love when the banana flavor actually comes through like a real dessert 😄 Coconut oil + chocolate is such a good combo. Making these this weekend.

    2. User avatar joellen.kiehn81 says:

      4 stars
Wow that’s encouraging—my last attempt turned out more like frozen banana blocks with chocolate drips. Do you melt slowly? Also do you use a lot of sprinkles or just a few?

  92. User avatar vernell.spinka23 says:

    4 stars
Simple enough, but I definitely had to freeze longer than 1 hour. Still tasted amazing though—my kids devoured them before the chocolate fully set 😅

I’m glad it still worked out! Freezers are so different—mine definitely takes more than an hour too. 😂 Chocolate + banana pops are dangerous around kids.

    2. User avatar Sanford Hackett says:

      4 stars
“1 hour” felt kinda optimistic lol. Mine were still soft at 60 min, so I did like 2 hours and they finally held up. Tasty though—sprinkles didn’t stick super well for me.

  93. 2 stars
Nice idea but 1/4 cup sprinkles is overkill imo. Also, why not use melted chocolate bars instead? This is fine though.

  94. User avatar lorrie.dicki11 says:

    4 stars
Made these for my kids and they loved them! Super easy to make.

  95. User avatar Jeanene Rodriguez says:

    3 stars
Honestly, I wouldn’t call it ‘chocolate covered’—more like a chocolate shell. But hey, it’s still better than plain bananas.

  96. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

    5 stars
Wow 10/10 lol. I’m making these again for sure. Chocolate + banana = always.

  97. 1 star
I didn’t have chocolate chips so I used cocoa powder. Tasted weird.

  98. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why coconut oil is needed—chocolate chips melt just fine on their own. Mine was thicker than expected and hard to dip without rushing.

  99. User avatar kris.harris48 says:

    2 stars
Why sticks? Couldn’t you just freeze slices. I’m lazy. 😅

  100. 3 stars
Mine stuck to the parchment a little after freezing. I think I didn’t freeze long enough or the chocolate coating wasn’t fully set before moving them.

  101. User avatar adalberto.beer1961 says:

    2 stars
The bananas got way too mushy. Not a fan. Do they have to freeze so long? 🤔

  102. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, the chocolate seized a little for me when I microwaved it too long. I should’ve stirred more carefully. After I remelted, it worked—still pretty tasty.

    1. 4 stars
Microwaves are tricky 😅 I always melt chocolate too long too. Maybe next time lower the power? Also the coconut oil helps, but not when it’s overheated lol.

    2. User avatar avelina.green99 says:

      5 stars
Totally get it—chocolate can go from perfect to grainy real fast in the microwave. Glad you remelted it and it still turned out tasty!

  103. User avatar antoine.conn23 says:

    4 stars
So easy I almost didn’t believe it. Freezing first is key. Mine took closer to 2 hours to get firm though—depends on your freezer I guess.

    1. User avatar merrill.wilderman says:

      4 stars
Mine only took like 30 minutes… but I also maybe have a colder freezer? lol. Still super easy though.

    2. User avatar ariana.baumbach45 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—freezing first makes a huge difference. Mine set fine in about an hour, but I believe you about freezer variance.

  104. User avatar demetrius.heathcote says:

    3 stars
My first batch stuck to the parchment even after freezing. I think I should have left them on longer before dipping? Flavor was on point.

  105. 3 stars
Honestly, the banana flavor was kinda muted under the chocolate. Maybe I should’ve used bigger banana halves or less coating. Family still ate them, so I guess it’s fine.

  106. User avatar Falmer Shadowmaster says:

    4 stars
This is a solid snack, but 15 minutes for setting feels optimistic. I left mine in the freezer longer and the chocolate turned out much better.

  107. 5 stars
Super fun snack. I did half with sprinkles and half without, and the ones without tasted more chocolate-forward. Would make again for parties.

  108. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, I don’t love microwaving chocolate—mine got thick fast. Stir more than you think, and don’t walk away for even a minute.

  109. User avatar enrique.bartell15 says:

    5 stars
These came out way better than I expected. The bananas were sweet but not mushy, and the chocolate set nicely. Next time I’ll try crushed nuts too!

  110. 5 stars
These are dangerously easy. Used dark chocolate chips and they tasted like a fancy dessert. My kids loved the sprinkles too—next time I’ll make a double batch.

  111. User avatar ming.bins30 says:

    4 stars
I followed it mostly, but my chocolate got a little thick and I had to stir longer. Still tasty though—like a fancy frozen snack.

    1. User avatar Mrs. Sherri Friesen says:

      5 stars
That sounds exactly like what this recipe should do! Mine got slightly thicker too if I let the chocolate sit—stirring longer fixes it. Glad it still tasted like a fancy frozen snack 😄

    2. 3 stars
Honestly I don’t get it—chocolate shouldn’t “get thick” if you microwave it right? Did you melt it all the way or maybe the coconut oil brand was different? Either way, glad it was still good.

  112. User avatar nathanial.crist says:

    1 star
2 bananas for 9 comments?? Also I thought you bake them? But it’s freezing. Confusing for me. Taste was okay.

  113. 2 stars
Mine wouldn’t come out clean—chocolate dragged like it wasn’t fully set. I think I needed longer than 15 minutes in the freezer.

    1. 5 stars
That makes sense—if the banana was still a bit soft or the chocolate wasn’t fully tempered/melted smooth, it’ll smear instead of cleanly setting. I’d definitely try longer than 15 minutes (or freeze them a little longer before dipping).

  114. User avatar carlton.stoltenberg44 says:

    5 stars
These turned out way better than I expected—crispy chocolate shell and creamy banana. I did the freeze step a full 2 hours and it helped a ton.

  115. User avatar rashad.huel41 says:

    4 stars
I used darker chocolate chips and it was still great. Also, I didn’t have coconut oil so I used vegetable oil—results were okay, not as glossy though.

  116. User avatar sharyl.bogisich33 says:

    4 stars
I don’t like bananas, but I liked these? What is wrong with me? Lol.

  117. User avatar seymour.morissette says:

    5 stars
I tried this and it worked! The parchment trick is key. I also used darker chocolate chips and it tasted more “adult.” I served them at a party and everyone asked for the recipe.

  118. User avatar brigida.rohan98 says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about microwave melting chocolate chips with coconut oil. Mine seized a bit—maybe my microwave runs hot? Still ate them anyway.

  119. User avatar denny.towne says:

    2 stars
Too sweet for me. Gonna reduce the chocolate next time.

  120. 5 stars
These turned out way better than I expected—chocolate set perfectly and the banana stayed firm. Sprinkles made them fun for the kids. ⭐️

  121. User avatar judy.erdman1974 says:

    4 stars
Honestly, this feels a little too healthy for a dessert lol. Still tasted great—could use more chocolate coverage though, I ran low.

  122. User avatar anton.ebert1967 says:

    5 stars
My picky eater loved these. The banana flavor comes through and isn’t overpowering. Will make again for summer snacks.

    1. User avatar Siona Atreides says:

      5 stars
Aww love this! “Banana flavor, not overpowering” is exactly what I was hoping for. Definitely making these for my summer snacks too 😋

  123. User avatar hong.walsh says:

    5 stars
These were dangerously good—like a healthier frozen treat for chocolate lovers. I used a little extra coconut oil because my chips seized up at first, but it melted smooth after. Sprinkles on top were totally worth it.

  124. User avatar cathryn.ullrich4 says:

    4 stars
Sprinkles are a must. I added them a little too slowly though—half of them slid off. Next time I’ll do it immediately like the instructions say.

  125. User avatar ellsworth.haley87 says:

    4 stars
Bananas turning into popsicles? Kinda genius. The chocolate drip effect looks fancy for something that’s basically fruit + chocolate.

  126. User avatar garret.balistreri76 says:

    2 stars
Why a popsicle stick? I think it’s pointless. I just froze banana chunks and dipped them—same vibe, less fuss.

  127. User avatar Gus Tofwin says:

    5 stars
Lmao these are so easy. I ate one before it even set and it was still good. 10/10 quick treat

  128. User avatar basementDweller says:

    4 stars
I messed up step 2 and didn’t freeze long enough—chocolate slid right off 😅 But when I re-did it with a full hour, they set perfectly.

  129. User avatar osvaldo.bergstrom1962 says:

    4 stars
Super easy instructions, even for someone like me who can’t bake. The chocolate came out smooth after I stirred each time. Would make again for sure.

  130. User avatar williemae.hudson says:

    4 stars
Easy and fast once you’ve got the bananas frozen. I used dark chocolate chips and it tasted like a healthier dessert from a fancy shop.

  131. User avatar Crazy Tracy says:

    3 stars
I used coconut oil like the recipe says, but it made the chocolate a bit thicker. Next time I might reduce it slightly or use pure cocoa butter.

  132. 4 stars
Pretty easy, but I had to freeze them longer than an hour to get them sturdy enough. Also, dipping was a little messy—worth it though. Next time I’ll work quicker.

  133. User avatar w00d_ch0p says:

    4 stars
I used dark chocolate chips and it was still good, but next time I’ll probably add a pinch of salt. Otherwise it felt a bit sweet for me.

  134. User avatar guy.runte1950 says:

    3 stars
Seems simple enough, but I wonder if the chocolate hardens too fast before dipping. Also, parchment cleanup was a pain for me.

  135. User avatar davis.hagenes73 says:

    4 stars
I didn’t add sprinkles and I regret it—looks boring without them. Flavor was still great, but presentation matters for banana pops lol.

  136. User avatar vernon.kutch44 says:

    5 stars
These were so good—crispy outside, creamy inside. I used dark chocolate chips and it was next-level. Sprinkles made them look like store-bought!

    1. 5 stars
Okay but dark chocolate + bananas is elite. Love that you said the outside was crispy and the inside creamy—exactly what I want.

  137. User avatar rosina.harvey says:

    5 stars
These turned out amazing—sweet, creamy, and the chocolate shell actually snaps a little. I used dark chocolate and it was even better. Definitely making again!

  138. User avatar derick.gaylord says:

    2 stars
Chocolate covered bananas? More like sticky mess! They just fell apart after the chocolate melted.

    1. User avatar Dwarven Centurion says:

      4 stars
I had the same issue! Maybe if you freeze them longer? They were super tasty anyway.

  139. 4 stars
The freezing time helped a lot. I was impatient and only did like 30 minutes once, and the chocolate slid right off, lol.

    1. User avatar williams.lubowitz1984 says:

      5 stars
Lol yep—impatience is basically the enemy here 😅 Freezing longer really helps the chocolate stick instead of sliding off.

  140. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

    3 stars
I found the recipe kinda bland. Maybe could use somethin else, like nuts or caramel?

    1. User avatar jeri.crona27 says:

      4 stars
I think the recipe is great as is! But adding nuts would definitely give it a nice crunch. Love the idea!

  141. User avatar joe_banana says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but my bananas were too ripe and they got mushy while dipping. Make sure you buy ripe-but-firm like the recipe says.

    1. 4 stars
Ahh that makes sense—once the bananas are too ripe they soften fast, especially during dipping. I’ll try again with ripe-but-firm next time (and maybe keep them in the freezer right up to dipping).

  142. User avatar mohamed.parisian45 says:

    5 stars
Yum! This is the best snack ever! So good for summer. 🍌🍫

  143. User avatar lyndon.anderson0 says:

    4 stars
Great snack idea, but timing is everything. If you don’t freeze long enough, the chocolate slides right off. Mine held after the 1 hour +.

    1. User avatar aldo.balistreri73 says:

      5 stars
Yes! Chocolate acts like it has a mind of its own 😅 I also learned the hard way—if the banana isn’t really firm, the coating just slides. Glad yours worked after the extra freeze!

  144. User avatar daryl.zulauf2014 says:

    3 stars
I followed it mostly but my chocolate seized a little when microwaving. Stirring more carefully would’ve helped. Still tasted good though!

  145. User avatar willis.lockman says:

    4 stars
I’m allergic to coconut oil so I subbed butter. It worked, but the chocolate tasted slightly different. Still a hit with the kids.

  146. User avatar lucy.gorczany says:

    3 stars
I followed it exactly and the chocolate seized a little in my microwave (oops, I think my bowl was too hot). The coating was kinda clumpy, but the flavor was still delicious.

  147. User avatar cary.grant says:

    3 stars
The steps are clear, but I wish it said how firm is “firm.” I pulled them early and the stick kinda slid. Still ate them anyway… so yeah.

  148. User avatar basementDweller says:

    4 stars
Love the idea! I didn’t have popsicle sticks so I used wooden skewers and they worked, mostly. Chocolate set fast for me, so the sprinkles went on a bit uneven.

    1. 5 stars
Nice! Wooden skewers usually work—sounds like your main issue was the chocolate setting too quickly. Maybe melt and dip a smaller batch so it stays smooth longer, or chill the bananas a touch less next time so it doesn’t flash-freeze the chocolate.

  149. User avatar nila.wolff15 says:

    2 stars
1 cup chocolate chips for 2 bananas? Seems stingy. Also “insert a popsicle stick” like it’s always that easy—mine cracked one banana half. I won’t lie, it was messy.

  150. 3 stars
Cute recipe but why the sticks? You could just freeze banana slices and dip them. Still, it’s like banana ice cream pops.

    1. User avatar harvey.schowalter1967 says:

      5 stars
I get what you mean, but the stick makes it way easier to eat—no messy banana hands, lol. Also freezing with the stick helps it hold together when you dip.

  151. User avatar arvilla.larkin says:

    5 stars
So simple! My kids loved the sprinkles. Next time I’ll use a thicker coating (dip twice) but the flavor is great.

  152. 3 stars
The ratio feels a little off—1 cup chocolate chips is maybe just enough for 4 halves? I ended up melting extra chocolate to fully coat.

  153. User avatar william.kuhlman says:

    3 stars
I followed it exactly but my chocolate got a little thick/streaky after microwaving. Not sure if my chips were older or my microwave is weird.

  154. User avatar karry.lind1967 says:

    5 stars
I followed the recipe exactly and the chocolate was smooth, no issues. The coconut oil was a nice touch—less clumpy than using butter.

  155. User avatar alva.howell says:

    5 stars
I love the idea of banana “pops”! The sprinkles really made them look fun. I also tried crushed nuts once—surprisingly good crunch.

  156. User avatar debra.kertzmann23 says:

    3 stars
Ok but not mind blowing. Bananas are yummy, but I wanted a thicker chocolate shell. Maybe I’ll use more chocolate next time.

  157. User avatar Pizpot Gargravarr says:

    2 stars
The recipe says ripe but firm… I picked bananas that were too ripe and they got mushy in the freezer. Flavor was good but texture was sad.

    1. User avatar kristle.zulauf84 says:

      5 stars
Ahh that makes sense—“ripe but firm” is a super narrow window. I do bananas that still have a bit of green at the stem end, and I freeze them ASAP so they don’t go mushy. Sorry your texture turned out sad though—glad the flavor was still good!

  158. User avatar addie.parker says:

    5 stars
These came out so good—sweet, chocolatey, and the banana stays nice and firm. I used dark chocolate chips and it was a win. Next time I’ll add a pinch of flaky salt on top.

  159. User avatar randell.kassulke37 says:

    4 stars
Pretty easy, but I messed up my timing once and the bananas got a little too frozen. Still tasty though. I’d recommend not skipping the 1-hour freeze.

  160. User avatar dean.kerluke55 says:

    5 stars
Honestly 5 stars just for the convenience. Also the coconut oil melt is super smooth—no lumps at all for me.
