Beef Nachos

November 6, 2024

Beef Nachos is the ultimate crowd-pleasing dish, loaded with crispy tortilla chips, seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and all your favorite toppings. Whether you are hosting a party, watching the game, or just craving something satisfying, this dish delivers big flavors with minimal effort.

At the heart of great nachos is the perfectly seasoned beef. Cooked with onions, garlic, and classic taco spices like cumin, chili powder, paprika, and oregano, the beef is savory and packed with flavor. Once the meat is cooked, it is layered over tortilla chips along with shredded cheese, then baked until the cheese is gooey and bubbly.

Beef Nachos is incredibly customizable. You can add black beans, jalapeños, corn, or olives for extra flavor and texture. Once out of the oven, load them up with fresh toppings like diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, avocado, cilantro, and a generous dollop of sour cream or guacamole. A squeeze of lime over the top adds the perfect finishing touch.

What makes nachos so great is how quick and easy they are to prepare. From start to finish, you can have a tray of nachos ready in about 20 minutes. They are perfect for sharing, and everyone can grab a chip loaded with cheesy, meaty goodness.

Beef Nachos is also a fantastic way to use leftovers. If you have cooked ground beef from taco night, it transforms into a whole new meal when piled onto chips with cheese and fresh toppings. You can even swap the beef for shredded chicken, pulled pork, or a plant-based alternative.

Whether you serve them as an appetizer, party snack, or even as a main meal, Beef Nachos never disappoints. They are crunchy, cheesy, savory, and endlessly customizable, making them a fun and delicious option any day of the week.

Beef nachos are the best! Just like the ones I get at the stadium. Yum!

    1. User avatar tyrone.harris says:

I’m not sure about the sour cream. Isn’t that just making it soggy? Maybe I’ll skip it.

    2. 5 stars
Totally agree! Stadium nachos just hit different. Can’t wait to try your recipe!

I’m not sure how I feel about the sour cream on nachos. Seems weird.

    1. User avatar buster.bosco1989 says:

      5 stars
I think the sour cream actually balances the heat from the jalapeños, it’s a great addition!

  3. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

Pretty solid recipe. I’m not usually a “measuring chips by grams” person, but it came out right. Next time I’ll add a bit of black beans for more texture.

    1. User avatar bonny.rolfson2022 says:

      5 stars
Thanks! Black beans sound like a great add—more bite for sure. I might try that next time too.

Nachos is maybe not my thing but those look okay. 👌

You should give nachos a try! They are super fun and tasty! 😋

Nah, nachos ain’t for everyone. But they’re popular for a reason, right? Maybe just try a little next time!

  5. 5 stars
Yummy Nachos! I could eat this every day! 😍

  6. User avatar ernest.larson1972 says:

    3 stars
Honestly, I thought it would be bland. Taco seasoning saves it, but I feel like 200g beef for this chip amount could be more—still tasty, just not wow.

  7. User avatar sun.ledner15 says:

    4 stars
Not bad! The taco seasoning really carries the whole dish. I did lean more toward spicy salsa and it was a nice kick with the sour cream.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—taco seasoning is doing the heavy lifting here. Spicy salsa + sour cream is such a solid combo. Did you add the jalapeño before or after baking? I’m always torn.

  8. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    2 stars
I’m not sure what’s so special about this recipe. It’s just nachos. I was expecting more flavors.

    1. User avatar jeanice.quitzon76 says:

      4 stars
Nachos are all about the toppings! You can really go crazy with flavors if you add more spices or different salsas. Give it another try!

  9. User avatar joel.kunze51 says:

    3 stars
I think the jalapeño amount is a typo? “1 jalapeño” is fine, but slicing it thin makes it super hot. Could’ve used instructions like remove seeds for less heat.

    Yummy! 👌

I think nachos are awesome! It’s not just chips and beef, it’s about the toppings too! 😋

  16. 3 stars
I tried this but added black olives. It was ok but not great. Maybe I did something wrong?

  17. User avatar hue.braun15 says:

    5 stars
Wow—restaurant vibes. The sour cream + salsa combo is elite. Will definitely make again for game night.

    1. User avatar Peregrin Took says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Sour cream on nachos is the real cheat code. Game night approved 👏

  18. 3 stars
Pretty decent, but my chips went a little soft after baking. Maybe I should’ve used thicker chips or baked a bit less. Still tasty with the beef and cheese.

  19. 4 stars
Yum! A bit too spicy for my kids, but I loved it!!

  22. 2 stars
I don’t understand why you bake nachos. Isn’t it better to just microwave them? 🤔

  23. 5 stars
Nachos are life!!! I added some olives too and they were so good. Thanks for the recipe!

  24. User avatar Feral Falmer says:

    3 stars
I’m giving 3 stars because it’s good, but I found it a bit too salty with store-bought seasoning + cheddar. Maybe use less taco seasoning or choose a milder cheese.

  25. 5 stars
Love the idea of baking the chips and then topping fresh. It keeps everything from going mushy. My sour cream melted a bit but in a good way.

  26. User avatar jewel.prosacco15 says:

    5 stars
These beef nachos are AMAZING! I made them for game night and everyone loved them. Will definitely make again!

  27. User avatar barrett.mcglynn48 says:

    3 stars
I dunno, I think nachos should have more toppings. This feels kinda plain.

  28. 2 stars
Is this really how you make nachos? I thought they were supposed to be more complicated.

  29. User avatar Anju's Mother says:

    3 stars
I followed it mostly, but my beef came out kind of dry even after draining the fat. Next time I might add a splash of water or extra salsa to keep it saucy.

  30. User avatar victor.corwin36 says:

    5 stars
These nachos are amazing! Perfect for game night. Everyone loved them.

    1. User avatar ira.herman49 says:

Thank you! I’m glad everyone enjoyed them! Game night food is super important! 🙌

  31. User avatar abram.runte69 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good and super quick. I wish I’d drained the beef a bit more because mine was a tad greasy, but the flavor was on point. Next time I’ll use a little less sour cream too.

    1. User avatar Faye Kinnitt says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—draining the beef makes a huge difference. I usually cook it a little longer and then press it against the pan a bit before topping. Glad the flavor came out on point though!

  32. User avatar grady.little3 says:

    4 stars
Not bad at all, though 200°C feels a little high for nachos—mine started browning around the edges before the cheese fully melted. Still tasty, just keep an eye on it.

  33. User avatar myron.casper says:

    5 stars
Honestly, this is my lazy-party recipe now. People always think it’s from a restaurant. I do add shredded lettuce sometimes but the base is excellent.

  34. 4 stars
Ugh, I put too much jalapeño. Lesson learned! Still good though.

  35. User avatar morris.gislason says:

    5 stars
lol 1 jalapeño only?? I used like 3 and now my mouth is regretting life. Tastes amazing though. Could be spicier instructions? 😂

  36. 4 stars
Pretty solid and easy. I drained the fat like the recipe said (important!), but next time I’ll add a little more salsa so it’s not as dry.

  37. User avatar leo.breitenberg8 says:

    5 stars
These came out way better than I expected—crispy chips with gooey cheese and the salsa hit perfectly. I used medium taco seasoning and it was the right amount of heat. Will make again!

    1. User avatar rigoberto.grady says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Crispy + melty is the best combo. I love that you went with medium seasoning—sounds perfectly balanced.

    2. User avatar tracey.lueilwitz1956 says:

      3 stars
I tried something like this but my chips went soft. 😕 Did you keep the salsa for after baking? Also I think 200°C for 5-7 min might not be enough for extra-crispy, maybe longer?

  38. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Kwaltz says:

    5 stars
5 stars! But why not add some olives or black beans? YUM!

  39. User avatar Arwen Evenstar says:

    2 stars
Ehh.. these are okay. I think I’m just not a nachos person. Sorry!

  40. User avatar dominique.block says:

    5 stars
This is the best nacho recipe ever! Easy to make and so tasty! My friends loved it! Will definitely make again.

  41. 1 star
Instructions are confusing. What’s a jalapeño? Can I use pickles instead?

  42. 5 stars
These came out so good—crispy chips, cheesy, and the taco seasoning really pops. I used medium salsa and it was perfectly balanced.

  43. 3 stars
Not bad, but 200°C felt high for 5–7 minutes. I think I burned the chips a bit around the edges.

  44. 4 stars
Not bad, but I think taco seasoning store-bought can be salty. I’d reduce the salt in the seasoning if you’re using something like mild packets.

    1. User avatar Bilbo Baggins says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—store-bought packets/seasons can be *way* saltier than they need to be. I usually use less seasoning and taste the beef before adding more. Mild salsa + sour cream also helps balance it.

    2. User avatar juliane.hudson says:

      3 stars
Hmm I use the whole tablespoon every time and it’s fine? Maybe it depends on the brand. Also 200°C seems low, like I do 220°C so the chips get crunchier. But yeah, if the seasoning is salty, just cut it down.

  45. 5 stars
These came out super crunchy and cheesy! I used a bit more salsa and it was perfect. Next time I’ll add black beans too, but overall great comfort food.

    1. User avatar Sung Schaefer III says:

      5 stars
Yesss crunchy nachos are the best! I always worry the salsa will make them soggy, so how did you keep them crisp?

  46. User avatar leah.koelpin2025 says:

    4 stars
Mmm, nachos! I love them but sometimes they make my tummy hurt. Be careful! 😂

  47. User avatar eura.nikolaus39 says:

    3 stars
I tried making these, but I used too much cheese, and it was a mess. 😅

  48. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    4 stars
Easy peasy! My kids loved it, especially the cheese part. Will keep this in mind for busy weeknights.

  49. 4 stars
Nachos are life! Can’t believe I used store-bought taco seasoning, thought it was homemade.

  50. 3 stars
Meh… mine burned slightly on the edges even at 200°C. Maybe my oven runs hot. Flavor was good though, just watch the timing.

    1. User avatar Samwise Gamgee says:

      5 stars
Ugh, that’s exactly the kind of thing I’d blame on my oven too. Mine runs hot sometimes—next time I’ll drop it to 190°C or start checking at like 4 minutes. Glad the flavor still came through!

    2. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

      3 stars
Burned edges?? Maybe you put them too close to the broiler? I always do 200°C but with thinner chips and it never burns. Also 5-7 min seems short but long enough to toast cheese… idk. Sounds like oven temp is off.

  51. 2 stars
ugh, my cheese didn’t melt right and my chips got soggy. what did I do wrong?

  52. User avatar mendy.mckenzie21 says:

    3 stars
I tried this but it was a bit too salty for my taste. Maybe less seasoning next time?

    1. User avatar caroyln.luettgen says:

      2 stars
What do you mean too salty? I thought it was perfect! Maybe your taste buds need adjusting? 😂

    2. 4 stars
I get that! Salty can be tough. Next time I think I’ll try just half a tablespoon of seasoning.

  53. User avatar joe_banana says:

    2 stars
This is like, fine, but I feel like nachos need more cheese than 100 grams. Also the jalapeño made it a bit too spicy for my family.

  54. User avatar Teisha Brekke says:

    3 stars
The cheese didn’t melt for me. What went wrong? Disappointing.

    1. 4 stars
Maybe the cheese wasn’t grated fine enough? I find that helps it melt better.

    2. User avatar trena.fritsch62 says:

      3 stars
I had the same issue once! I think I took it out too soon. You gotta wait for it to really bubble.

  55. 5 stars
These nachos are dangerously easy. The beef-seasoning ratio is on point and the cheese gets that perfect bubbly top. I used mild salsa and it still had great flavor.

    1. 5 stars
Yep! Super easy and somehow it still tastes like real nachos. I did the same beef seasoning and the cheese bubble-up is the best part. Next time I’ll try spicy salsa for a little kick.

  56. 4 stars
Not sure about the 5–7 minutes—my cheese browned fast, like 4 minutes max. But the topping step saved it. I’d reduce the bake time next time.

  57. User avatar Leto II Atreides says:

    3 stars
I’m not sure about the chip amount—100g feels a little light for 200g beef, unless the chips are really spread thin. Still tasty though.

  58. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    5 stars
These were dangerously easy. The cheese got perfectly melty and the toppings made it feel like actual restaurant nachos. Will definitely make again—maybe try spicy salsa next time.

  59. User avatar albertha.bernier7 says:

    4 stars
Why do people put sour cream on nachos? I just don’t get it. 😂 But cheese and beef, what’s not to like?

  60. User avatar danuta.hammes85 says:

    5 stars
Mmmm nachos!! This is my go-to snack for the game. Game changer!

    1. User avatar stanford.luettgen says:

      5 stars
Totally agree! Nachos are the best during the game. Can’t wait to try this recipe!

  61. User avatar Android 19 says:

    2 stars
Just okay. Didn’t have much flavor, might need more spices.

  62. User avatar delphine.mueller27 says:

    5 stars
These nachos are bomb! I added some guac too. So good!

  63. User avatar ramonita.fay82 says:

    3 stars
I don’t know, seems a bit too easy? Are the chips gonna get soggy? I think I’d rather just make a taco.

    1. 3 stars
Nah, taco making is totally diff. Nachos is just chips with toppings. Easy is good! Sometimes quick meals fit busy lives.

    2. User avatar Restless Draugr says:

      4 stars
I totally get your concern! But trust me, if you keep an eye on them in the oven, the chips should stay crispy. This recipe makes for a tasty snack! 🌮

  64. User avatar hyman.herzog66 says:

    5 stars
These nachos were dangerously good. The beef seasoning is perfect and the cheese melts just right. I added extra jalapeños and it still worked—would make again!

    1. User avatar Falmer Gloomlurker says:

      5 stars
Yesss! “dangerously good” is exactly right 😂 I love that the beef seasoning comes out flavorful without being too salty. Adding jalapeños sounds like the move—will try next time.

    2. User avatar zelda.white says:

      4 stars
I tried this but I think my cheese took longer? Like it didn’t get super bubbly till maybe 10 minutes. Still tasted great though, and the sour cream + salsa combo was on point. Next time I’ll watch it closer!

  65. User avatar GOPster says:

  67. User avatar julian.predovic91 says:

    5 stars
Yasss! Nachos! Best snack ever! 🙌

  68. 2 stars
Honestly didn’t love it. The taco seasoning overwhelmed the beef and the toppings kind of slid off. Could use more cheese next time.

  69. User avatar kim.langworth97 says:

Did you really cook the beef first? I just throw it all together raw and it works fine.

    1. User avatar santos.walsh says:

      3 stars
I don’t think cooking the beef first is necessary for nachos! They turn out great without it. Just my opinion.

  71. User avatar Feyd-Rautha Rabban says:

    3 stars
I’m not sure about mixing baked chips with hot beef—feels kinda soggy after a few minutes. Still, flavor is nice.

  72. User avatar joe_banana says:

    3 stars
Why 200 grams beef? I used half and it still felt like too much chips. Maybe my chips were larger? Tasted nice, but the ratio felt off for me.

  73. 2 stars
Tbh this is just nachos. Not bad, but not life-changing. I’d add black beans or corn next time for more texture.

  74. User avatar donnette.satterfield78 says:

    3 stars
I’m not sure about the 200°C—my oven runs hot and the chips started browning fast. I had to watch it closely. Flavor still good.

    1. User avatar hector.stoltenberg says:

      5 stars
Totally makes sense—every oven runs different. If yours browns fast, I’d try 180°C and bake closer to 5 minutes, or do a quick broil at the end just to get the cheese bubbly.

    2. User avatar corine.beer says:

      4 stars
200°C seems kinda high for chips 😅 mine burnt on the edges too, but I guess it depends on the brand of tortillas. Maybe next time I’ll cover with foil first? Flavor was still okay though.

  75. User avatar juli.kohler91 says:

    4 stars
Not bad, but I prefer beef with a little more spice. Next time I’ll add some hot sauce!

  76. User avatar adriane.huel says:

    4 stars
Okay so… I used 200 grams ground beef but my bag said 7% fat, not lean. Still turned out fine. I think draining the fat is key either way.

  77. 5 stars
I made this for game night—super easy and the flavors actually tasted like proper nachos, not just “chips with stuff.” Next time I’ll use spicy salsa though.

    1. User avatar art.becker30 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! “Chips with stuff” is the enemy 😂 Glad it turned out legit. Spicy salsa next time sounds perfect—also I might add a little extra cheddar for extra melty vibes.

    2. User avatar harry.haley says:

      4 stars
Game night nachos are my weakness. I usually do it at like 220°C but 200°C makes sense. Do you drain the beef totally or leave a lil oil? I worry mine get soggy.

  78. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    5 stars
Kids loved it! I skipped the jalapeño and used extra sour cream. The green onions were a nice fresh touch too. Quick dinner win.

    1. 5 stars
So glad your kids liked it! Skipping the jalapeño and going heavier on the sour cream sounds like the perfect tweak for a “kid-friendly” nacho night. Green onions really do add a nice fresh bite too. 🍀

    2. 4 stars
I tried it and… honestly I think I used way too much sour cream 😅 but the flavor was still good. Next time I’ll prob keep the jalapeño in though, unless I’m feeding tiny people again. Quick dinner is right!

  79. User avatar Hillman Hunter says:

    5 stars
I made these for a party and everyone ate them!! I was so proud. Worth it!

  80. User avatar roderick.wilderman2013 says:

    3 stars
Idk who puts sour cream on nachos? I like mine with guacamole! Just saying.

    1. 4 stars
Guacamole is great, but sour cream gives it that extra creaminess! It’s all about personal taste!

  81. User avatar trent.bartoletti80 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but mine came out a little soggy because I piled on the salsa right away. I think I should have added salsa after baking. Flavor was decent though.

Salsa + jalapeño on top makes it too wet for me. The chips went soft fast. I’d preheat the baking sheet or use less salsa.

  83. User avatar delmer.lueilwitz says:

    3 stars
I followed it exactly and honestly it tasted like regular tacos… just on chips. The flavor was okay but I expected more wow.

  84. User avatar Darmani III says:

    4 stars
I followed it mostly, but my cheddar didn’t melt super evenly. Still tasted great though—could’ve been my oven being weird.

    1. 4 stars
That can happen—cheddar melts unevenly if it’s thicker/colder chunks or if the chips aren’t in a single layer. I usually grate it a bit finer and bake until it’s *just* bubbly, like 6-7 min, then broil for 30-60 sec if needed. Still glad it tasted great though!

  85. User avatar nellie.hodkiewicz says:

    3 stars
The beef was greasy 🙄. Should I drain it more? Next time I’ll try turkey instead.

    1. 5 stars
Yeah, definitely drain it more next time! Turkey is a good idea, much leaner. Love nachos!

  86. User avatar Cave Bear says:

    4 stars
I forgot the jalapeños and they still tasted great. Just kidding, don’t forget them haha.

    1. User avatar will.harber16 says:

      5 stars
Haha, that’s classic! Jalapeños really do make a difference, but glad yours turned out tasty anyway! 😊

  87. User avatar chong.blick10 says:

    4 stars
What kind of salsa is best? I only have chunky. Will it work?

  88. User avatar marnie.okeefe30 says:

    4 stars
Easy to make and super cheesy! My kids loved it! Will definitely make again.

  89. User avatar nenita.watsica71 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but mine got a little soggy near the bottom chips. I think I might’ve used too much salsa right away. Next time I’ll add toppings after baking and maybe keep salsa on the side.

  90. User avatar candy.rice30 says:

    4 stars
Simple and pretty foolproof. I used regular tortilla chips and it still turned out great. Next time I’ll drain the fat a bit more thoroughly, but overall 10/10 comfort food.

  91. User avatar nestor.lindgren70 says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about baking nachos for only 5-7 minutes—won’t the chips get soggy? Mine stayed mostly crisp though, so I guess it works. Cheddar could’ve been mixed with a tiny pinch of salt.

  92. 1 star
I tried it and I think the jalapeño amount was too much? Like my mouth was on fire lol. But the beef flavor was great. Would adjust next time.

  93. 2 stars
One star because I burned the cheese trying to “melt and bubbly” it lol. Also I forgot to drain the beef fat and it was kinda greasy.

  94. 4 stars
I’m picky about sour cream—I like it cold and fresh. This method still kept it creamy, not melted, and the salsa on top was a nice balance.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—sour cream stays creamy when you add it after baking. I hate when it turns watery. The salsa + jalapeño combo is perfect on nachos!

    2. User avatar Britt Stoltenberg says:

      4 stars
I’m not sure I’d call it “fresh” if it’s going on hot nachos 😅 but I get what you mean—mine sometimes melts if I dump it right before. Maybe I’ll try putting it on right away like you said.

  95. User avatar norberto.mohr says:

    3 stars
I found it a bit plain, I thought nachos would have more flavor. Adding more spices might help.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree! I always add cumin and paprika to spice it up. Makes a big difference!

  96. User avatar oliver.kuvalis says:

    3 stars
Too spicy for my kids 😩. But I love them!

    1. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

      4 stars
You could use less jalapeño next time! My kids love them at a milder spice. 😊

  97. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    2 stars
I followed it mostly, but I didn’t drain the fat enough and it turned greasy. Learn from me: drain it. Otherwise pretty tasty.

  98. 3 stars
This was okay, but I think it’s missing something. Maybe some guacamole? 🤔

    1. 5 stars
I totally agree! Guacamole would really elevate this dish😁. Maybe try adding some next time!

    2. User avatar waneta.heller37 says:

      2 stars
Guacamole? Nah, this is already so good as is. You don’t need to complicate it!

  99. User avatar gia.dare2025 says:

    4 stars
This was quick and my kids devoured it, but I skipped jalapeño because we’re not trying to suffer lol.

  100. User avatar Spriggan Matron says:

    4 stars
I’m not a big jalapeño person, so I skipped them—still tasted great with the salsa and green onions. Honestly the taco seasoning doing the heavy lifting.

  101. 4 stars
Super easy and way better than ordering out. I did 2% less beef fat by draining well and used a spicy salsa—still not too overwhelming. Great weeknight snack.

    1. 5 stars
Yes!! I love that it’s actually fast—nachos that don’t involve delivery guilt. I used mild salsa and extra jalapeño and it still hit.

  102. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
Yum!!! Nachos for dinner? Yes please! I added some olives and it was great.

  103. 2 stars
I’m skeptical about only 5-7 minutes—shouldn’t it melt more evenly? Mine looked melted on top but the chips under the beef were kinda dry.

    1. User avatar cynthia.fadel says:

      3 stars
Mine did the same-ish thing: cheese melted, top looked great, bottom chips were dry. I think it’s because 200°C isn’t hot enough to rehydrate the chips quickly. Also I used too few chips so they were stacked 😅, next time I’ll spread them thinner or do a quick stir halfway. Probably that 5-7 min is more like ‘cheese only’ time.

    2. User avatar halflife4 says:

      4 stars
Totally fair skepticism. 5–7 minutes at 200°C can melt cheese fast, but it won’t really “evenly” warm everything—especially if your chips aren’t coated or if there’s not much moisture from salsa. If the chips under the beef dried out, try a slightly higher oven (or broil for 1 minute at the end) next time, and consider adding a spoonful of salsa onto the beef before baking so there’s more steam/melting help.

  104. User avatar elvin.satterfield45 says:

    4 stars
Quick question: is 1 jalapeño enough? I used a whole one and my mouth was like 🔥 for an hour. Still kinda amazing though.

  105. User avatar greg.ebert2004 says:

    3 stars
Meh… the chips got soft fast. Also 200°C feels hot but not enough? Idk, mine stopped being crunchy by the time I finished topping. Taste was fine though.

  106. User avatar Demon King Piccolo says:

    5 stars
Nachos at 400°F for 6 minutes? Sounds wrong but I tried it. It worked, but I used extra cheese. My kids said it was fire 🔥

    1. User avatar amado.stokes24 says:

      5 stars
400°F for 6 min actually makes sense if the chips are already toasted a bit—cheese melts fast. I’m glad it worked for you! Extra cheese is never a bad call 😄

    2. User avatar felton.ferry76 says:

      3 stars
Wait, I thought nachos need more time like 10-15 min so the chips get crispy. 6 min sounds too short but if you say it worked… guess my oven runs hot? Also I probably would’ve used more jalapeños lol.

  107. 4 stars
I’m confused about the measurements—200g beef but then only 100g chips? Seems like it might be beef-heavy? Still turned out tasty though, my kids devoured it.

    1. 5 stars
I get what you mean—200g beef sounds like a lot compared to 100g chips. But with nachos, the chips are kind of just the base. The beef + cheese fills it out real fast. Glad your kids liked it!

  108. User avatar chung.rippin says:

    4 stars
Decent, but 200°C for only 5–7 minutes feels a bit short for my oven. I ended up leaving them in 10 minutes and it was much better.

  109. User avatar Colin the Security Robot says:

    5 stars
These nachos are soooo good! I made them for a party and they were a hit.

  110. User avatar andrew.schowalter23 says:

    2 stars
I don’t know… I’ve had better nachos. This recipe just feels boring.

  111. 5 stars
These turned out insanely good—crispy chips + melty cheddar is the best combo. I used mild salsa and it was still flavorful. Will make again for sure!

    1. User avatar jill.bartoletti1970 says:

      3 stars
Wait… I thought baking at 200°C for only 5-7 mins would make the chips soggy? 😅 Mine usually goes soft, but I wanna try your method—maybe I overdo the toppings.

    2. User avatar ginger.johns56 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Crispy chips + melty cheddar is exactly what makes nachos work. I love that you used mild salsa too—mine always comes out flavorful without being too spicy.

  112. User avatar ned.wilkinson says:

    4 stars
Simple but solid. I like that you bake just 5-7 minutes so the chips don’t turn into sad soggy crackers. Next time I’ll add a bit more jalapeño.

  113. 2 stars
Taco seasoning? I don’t think that’s real nacho taste. Where’s the authentic flavor??

  114. 4 stars
So easy to make! I added some olives and it was a hit at the party.

  115. User avatar lavada.mosciski24 says:

    5 stars
Couldn’t believe how fast it was. 5–7 minutes is exactly the sweet spot—cheese bubbles but chips don’t fully go soggy. Great for a quick snack night.

  116. User avatar Questular Rontok says:

    5 stars
Yum!! Just perfect for movie night. I added a few more jalapeños for heat, and it was fire! 🔥

    1. User avatar Frostbite Spider says:

      4 stars
Sounds delicious! I love nachos, but I always worry about overdoing the toppings. What do you think? Is it still nachos if it’s overloaded?

    2. 3 stars
I tried making these too and honestly found it a bit bland without extra spices. Maybe add more jalapeños, or some hot sauce on top?

  117. 2 stars
I don’t think real nachos use beef, right? I’ve only seen cheese and beans on them.

  118. User avatar carmine.kutch48 says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid recipe. I maybe should’ve drained the beef better because mine was a bit greasy, but the seasoning helped a lot. Next time I’ll blot the chips first.

  119. User avatar Falmer Nightprowler says:

    3 stars
I didn’t have jalapeños so I used pickled peppers and… not gonna lie, kinda forgot to put salsa until the end. Still tasty, but looks not as nice as the picture in my head.

  120. User avatar vincenzo.lueilwitz1997 says:

    5 stars
Wow! I didn’t even have taco seasoning so I used chili powder + cumin + salt (kinda improv), and it still came out great. Will repeat for sure.

    1. 5 stars
Nice! I’m always doing that—subbing chili powder + cumin makes it taste basically the same. Glad it worked out!

  121. User avatar Oolon Colluphid says:

    5 stars
These beef nachos are dangerously good. The cheese melt + salsa combo is perfect, and the jalapeño gives it that little kick without ruining the flavor. I’ll definitely make again!

  122. User avatar chuck.anderson42 says:

    2 stars
My cheese slid off the chips a bit. Maybe I packed the chips too thick? Still tastes like nachos should, just not perfectly layered.

    1. User avatar Slartibartfast says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—nachos are so good even when they’re not perfectly stacked. If the cheese slides, it’s usually because the chips are too spread out and there’s not enough heat/cheese contact. Next time try a slightly thicker layer (or re-spread in a thinner, more even layer), and make sure you bake just until bubbly—also pressing the cheese down lightly helps. Still sounds like you nailed the flavor though!

  123. 5 stars
Made this for game night and they disappeared fast. I added a little extra jalapeño because I’m that person, but overall the instructions are spot on.

  124. User avatar malcolm.kulas says:

    5 stars
    One word: yum.

  125. User avatar patrice.yundt89 says:

    4 stars
Good flavor, but I think 5-7 minutes is a little short if your cheese is thick. I left mine closer to 10 and it was way better. Still a solid recipe.

    1. User avatar stephen.kunde23 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—if the cheddar is thicker or not fully shredded, 5–7 min can leave it barely melted. 10 min makes a big difference for me too. Thanks for the heads-up!

  126. User avatar tom.jones1967 says:

    5 stars
These nachos were dangerously good—cheese got perfectly melty and the beef seasoning tasted spot-on. I used medium salsa and added a little extra jalapeño. Will make again!

  127. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    3 stars
Okay, I made this and my cheese didn’t get ‘bubbly’ like the recipe said… maybe my oven runs cold? Flavor was good, just the texture wasn’t there.

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, 200°C for just 5–7 minutes can be a little hit-or-miss depending on the oven. If your cheese didn’t bubble, I’d try either a hotter bake (like 220°C/425°F) or broil for 1 minute at the end—just watch it so it doesn’t burn. Also make sure the cheese is grated fine and evenly spread.

    2. User avatar Tom Bombadil says:

      3 stars
Huh that’s weird… I cooked mine at 200 and mine got bubbly right away. Maybe you let the chips sit too long with the meat? Or your cheddar wasn’t real cheddar? Mine was like old-school sharp, not the bag stuff. Either way tho glad flavor was good!

  128. User avatar Rusty Nails says:

    2 stars
Taco seasoning + cheddar is a classic, but I’m not sure about baking chips first. They got a little too crunchy for my liking—like cracker nachos.

  129. User avatar buck.zieme79 says:

    4 stars
Looks easy. I think I could also do it on stove top? Or airfryer? not sure. Either way I’m gonna try. 👌

  130. User avatar luis.daniel says:

    3 stars
I followed it exactly and it was kinda bland? Like, the beef needed more taco seasoning or maybe my salsa was mild. Still ate it all, just not as wow as I expected.

  131. User avatar halflife4 says:

    2 stars
1 cup salsa is too much for my taste—everything got watery. Also 200°C feels high for chips in my oven, they browned faster than the cheese melted. Flavor is decent, but I’d adjust the timing.

  132. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    1 star
Awful. Who put sour cream on nachos? That’s wrong!

    1. User avatar lizette.wisozk47 says:

      2 stars
Nah, I think it sounds weird. Nachos are chips and cheese, not sour cream! Just doesn’t seem right.

    2. User avatar leonida.berge says:

      4 stars
Sour cream is actually a common topping for nachos! It adds a nice creaminess. You just might not like it. 🙃

  133. User avatar petronila.schaefer1962 says:

    4 stars
Honestly, the baking time feels short—my cheese wasn’t super bubbly until I left it in 10 minutes. But that fixed it. Great crunch + gooey cheese combo.

    1. User avatar Frostbite Spider says:

      4 stars
Yeah I felt the same—mine looked “done” way too early at 7 minutes. Next time I’m adding a few more minutes until the cheese is properly bubbling. The crunch + gooey cheese combo is real though!

    2. User avatar Draugr Death Overlord says:

      5 stars
Honestly, 5-7 min seems short. My cheese didn’t melt all the way either, so I baked longer like you said. But after that it was sooo good. Thanks for the tip!

  134. 1 star
Nah this is basic. Ground beef + cheese + salsa is like nachos 101. Still ate it tho lol. Could use more spice and maybe black beans.

  135. User avatar andreas.nikolaus1959 says:

    3 stars
My oven is not as hot so it took longer than 7 minutes. Also I accidentally forgot the sour cream until after—oops—but the toppings were worth it.

  136. User avatar jacklyn.hansen2014 says:

    3 stars
This is basically tacos on chips. Which is fine, but mine got soggy FAST when I piled on the salsa. Also I didn’t have jalapeño so I used pickled jalapeños and… wow, different flavor!

  137. User avatar benedict.brekke3 says:

    3 stars
Kinda mid tbh. Also 100g chips is like… not much? I ended up doubling. Still ate it all, so yeah.

  138. User avatar loren.howe2003 says:

    4 stars
I liked the idea of layering chips then beef then cheese. My only complaint is the chips got a little soggy once I added salsa—next time I’ll drizzle salsa at the table.

  139. User avatar liberal.hero says:

    2 stars
The oven temp confused me—400°F is like 220°C right? Anyway mine came out good but I’d love clearer timing based on chip crunch.

  140. 5 stars
This is basically the nachos I eat at parties… but home style. I added black beans and it leveled up hard. Would absolutely make again.
