BBQ Baked Beans

August 6, 2024

BBQ Baked Beans are the ultimate comfort food side dish, bringing a rich, smoky flavor to backyard cookouts, potlucks, and family dinners alike. Slow-cooked to perfection, these beans are typically simmered in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce that features molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and a hint of spice. The result is a hearty, satisfying dish that pairs perfectly with grilled meats, burgers, and cornbread.

What makes BBQ Baked Beans truly irresistible is the depth of flavor developed over time. Whether made with canned beans for convenience or soaked from scratch for a more traditional approach, the secret lies in the low-and-slow cooking process that allows all the ingredients to meld together beautifully. Many home cooks love adding crispy bacon or smoked sausage for extra richness and texture, turning a simple side dish into a star of the meal.

BBQ baked beans are incredibly versatile too. You can make them vegetarian by skipping the meat and using smoked paprika or liquid smoke for that deep barbecue flavor. Spice lovers can add a dash of hot sauce or chili powder to give them a kick. Some like them sweeter, others prefer more tang. There’s plenty of room to make it your own.

Whether you’re pairing them with grilled chicken, ribs, burgers, or serving them as part of a potluck spread, baked beans are a classic that always delivers. Warm, rich, and filling, they bring people together with every bite.

Easy to prepare, BBQ Baked Beans can be made in the oven, slow cooker, or even on the stovetop, depending on your preference. They also reheat well, making them a great make-ahead option for gatherings. Whether you’re hosting a summer barbecue or just craving something warm and satisfying, BBQ Baked Beans deliver big flavor with minimal fuss.

    Five stars. Best beans!!!

  2. User avatar lloyd.harvey says:

    5 stars
These are the best beans I’ve ever had! My family devoured them at the BBQ. Definitely making again!

  3. User avatar camila.graham5 says:

    2 stars
I think BBQ beans should have more BBQ…too bland.

  4. 5 stars
Yummm! I added some jalapeños for a kick. Delish!

  5. 4 stars
I made something similar and honestly the mustard makes a big difference. Next time I’ll add the chopped onion—I think it’ll round it out.

  6. User avatar myung.schiller says:

    5 stars
This recipe rocks! Added some jalapeños for kick, and it was fire! 🔥🔥

    1. 5 stars
Sounds delicious! I’m definitely trying the jalapeños next time. Thanks for the tip!

  7. 5 stars
These look dangerously good. The combo of brown sugar + spicy brown mustard is such a nice kick—baked beans always taste better when they get that oven time. I’ll probably add a little onion anyway because “optional” is basically a suggestion to me 😂

  8. User avatar lon.spinka54 says:

    4 stars
I don’t trust recipes that say “optional” onion. I added it anyway and it made it way more flavorful. Use the onion!

    1. User avatar august.dare2025 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—“optional” onions are never optional in my kitchen 😄 I always chop one up and toss it in. Gives that sweet-savory base that makes the whole pot taste thicker.

  9. User avatar mathWizard says:

    5 stars
These beans were a hit at our BBQ! So tasty and easy to make!

  10. User avatar kraig.dicki40 says:

    5 stars
Had these at a party and they were gone in minutes! 📅🔥

  11. User avatar na.baumbach1998 says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why everyone raves about these. They are just beans with BBQ sauce. Meh.

  12. 5 stars
These are the best beans I’ve ever made! So tasty!

    1. User avatar mona.connelly says:

      4 stars
I’m glad you loved them! I’ve tried making BBQ beans before, but they never turn out right. What do you think makes these so special?

    2. User avatar roseline.kuhlman8 says:

      2 stars
Best beans? Really? I doubt that. How can canned beans be the best? Maybe you need to try making them from scratch!

  13. User avatar Lane Windler says:

    2 stars
Not as good as I expected. Maybe I just don’t like baked beans? The mustard threw me off.

  14. User avatar lionel.brakus91 says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about 6 oz BBQ sauce with all the other sweet/smoky stuff, but maybe the Little Smokies balance it. Also, “Instructions: 2.” is… not great. What about step 1? 😅 Still, bacon makes everything better.

  15. User avatar shandra.goldner55 says:

    5 stars
omg, the smokies are the best part! mmmmmm!!!

    1. User avatar damaris.rosenbaum8 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree! The smokies add such a unique flavor to the beans. Can’t get enough of them!

    2. User avatar eldon.dickinson47 says:

      3 stars
Really? I thought bacon would make it better than smokies. But maybe I won’t knock it till I try it!

  16. User avatar maribel.hettinger33 says:

    2 stars
Why use canned beans? Just cook them from scratch! Even if it takes long.

  17. User avatar annelle.lakin61 says:

    4 stars
I’m not a fan of beans, but everyone at the potluck loved these! I might have to start liking beans after this.

  18. User avatar Chastity Fahey says:

    2 stars
Boring. Beans are beans. Not worth the hype.

    1. 3 stars
Honestly, beans can be great if you jazz them up. But I get it, everyone has different tastes!

    2. User avatar wilmer.gorczany says:

      5 stars
I think you’re missing out! These BBQ baked beans are the BEST. They have so much flavor with the smokies and bacon!

  19. User avatar richard.walsh79 says:

    4 stars
I wasn’t sure about the combination of ingredients, but they turned out amazing! Will definitely make again.

  20. User avatar donella.rice24 says:

    2 stars
Not sure why it says preheat to 350°F and then… nothing else? Like am I missing steps? Still, the ingredient list looks solid.

    1. User avatar rey.okeefe2002 says:

      4 stars
Yeah I was confused too, but the ingredients sound like a winner—sweet + smoky from the Little Smokies and bacon. If you’re not sure on steps, try mixing it all in a baking dish and bake at 350 until hot and thick (like ~45–60 min).

    2. User avatar Reg Nullify says:

      2 stars
I think the instructions got cut off—preheat is step 2, but there’s no actual baking/assembly part. You’re not crazy. I’d assume you mix everything (beans, smokies, sugar, mustard, BBQ sauce, bacon/onion) and bake until bubbly, but I can’t see the time/temp beyond the preheat.

  21. User avatar teresa.monahan says:

    5 stars
I don’t usually cook beans, but I tried this and it was surprisingly easy. Smell was amazing while baking. Would make again for sure.

    1. 5 stars
Yes! I love when baked beans are actually easy—this combo sounds perfect. The smell while it bakes has to be unreal 😄

  22. User avatar felicitas.deckow61 says:

    3 stars
Beans is beans! I just threw it all in a pot without the oven and it turned out ok.

  23. 5 stars
    1/2 cup brown sugar??? 🧐

  24. User avatar lakiesha.sauer68 says:

    5 stars
    Yummy!! <3

    1. User avatar ArabianNights says:

      5 stars
I know, right? These are delicious! Perfect for summer BBQs!

    2. 2 stars
Too sweet for me. I didn’t like the brown sugar that much.

  25. User avatar wellRespected says:

    3 stars
Honestly 1/2 cup brown sugar feels like a lot. I’d cut it to 1/3 cup, especially if your BBQ sauce is already sweet. Otherwise it could be sticky-sweet.

  26. 3 stars
Beans? Very good. BBQ sauce? Not my favorite. Together? A lil bit odd but still tasty.

    1. User avatar bryce.simonis says:

      4 stars
I get what you’re saying! Beans and BBQ sauce is definitely a unique combo, but it works for a lot of folks. Love the sweetness too!

  27. User avatar leon.gleichner says:

    3 stars
Honestly, I don’t get the hype. They tasted fine, but not mind-blowing.

  28. User avatar doug.windler33 says:

    4 stars
I don’t know why, but spicy brown mustard scared me. Turns out it’s fine and gives a nice tang. So… shocked in a good way.

    1. User avatar nicola.daniel57 says:

      5 stars
Haha same! Mustard in beans sounds weird until you taste it—then it’s like, “oh wow, that’s the tang.” Love that you trusted it.

  29. 4 stars
Super easy. Smelled amazing while baking. 10/10 would serve at a cookout again.

  30. User avatar annetta.reilly78 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I think I overcooked them. Next time I’ll keep a closer eye!

  31. User avatar alfredo.koch says:

    5 stars
    Yum!

  32. User avatar ka.hartmann2000 says:

    4 stars
Great and simple recipe but I think I would add more bacon next time! Who doesn’t love bacon?

  33. 3 stars
Too sweet for my taste. I think I might cut down the sugar next time. But my kids loved it! 🤷‍♂️

  34. 2 stars
I didn’t have pork & beans, so I used kidney beans instead. Not the same! Can you even call it BBQ baked beans if you switch the beans? 🤔

    1. 2 stars
But it’s not BBQ baked beans if you don’t use pork & beans! You’re just making a different recipe. 🤷‍♂️

    2. User avatar elba.blick21 says:

      4 stars
I think using kidney beans is fine! As long as you love it, right? Taste is what matters!

  35. 5 stars
This recipe was awesome! The bacon added a nice crunch. Will serve this at the cookout!

  36. 5 stars
Not gonna lie, the ingredient list is simple but it tastes like you worked all day. My kids went back for seconds.

  37. User avatar chet.quigley1966 says:

    4 stars
I love baked beans, but “best ever” is a bold claim 😄 Still, the little smokies + bacon combo sounds insanely good. Only thing: the instructions look incomplete—where’s the rest of the steps?

    1. User avatar rosemarie.witting says:

      5 stars
Totally fair—“best ever” is bold 😄 I’ve just made this a few times and it’s dangerously tasty. And you’re right, the instructions snippet looks cut off. I’d add steps like mixing everything (beans, smokies, bacon, BBQ sauce, sugar, mustard), baking covered first, then uncovered to thicken.

    2. User avatar sammie.bartoletti14 says:

      2 stars
Uh… yeah the steps are missing. Like how long do you bake? 10 minutes? 2 hours? And is the onion supposed to go in or is it just “optional” forever? 😅 I’d try it but I’m not trusting a half recipe.

  38. User avatar laverne.goodwin37 says:

    5 stars
These beans were amazing! Perfect for our BBQ party. Will definitely make again!

    1. User avatar miguel.bayer60 says:

      5 stars
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! These beans are a game-changer at BBQs! 😋

    2. User avatar kiley.bins97 says:

      3 stars
But…isn’t pork & beans kinda basic? I mean, every family has their own recipe, right?

  39. User avatar Ms. Debi Nitzsche says:

    4 stars
Wow. The spicy brown mustard is the secret, I bet. I’ve tried mustard in beans before and it actually works. 10/10 idea.

  40. 5 stars
These beans were a hit at our barbecue! Super easy to make and everyone loved them. Will definitely make again.

  41. 2 stars
No offense but why so much sugar?? I prefer a savory bean. 🤷‍♂️

  42. 5 stars
These sound dangerously good. Smokies + bacon + sweet sauce is basically guaranteed comfort food. Can’t wait to try it—also 350°F is a nice easy temp.

    1. 5 stars
Seriously… smokies + bacon is a cheat code for comfort food. 350°F is super forgiving too—can’t wait to try it! 😄

  43. 5 stars
These baked beans are amazing! So flavorful and a perfect side dish for BBQs. Definitely making them again!

    1. User avatar Frost Giant says:

      3 stars
They were good but I think they could’ve used more seasoning…maybe added some chili powder next time? Just a thought.

    2. 5 stars
I tried this recipe last weekend and it was a hit! Everyone loved it. Going to add a bit more bacon next time. 😋

  44. User avatar alisa.bosco says:

    1 star
Kinda confused: the instructions you shared only say “Preheat your oven…” and then it stops. How long do you bake it??

  45. User avatar jay.okuneva24 says:

    5 stars
    Fireeee 🔥

  46. 3 stars
Too much sugar for my liking, but the kids loved them.

  47. User avatar lahoma.morar68 says:

    5 stars
Finally! Baked beans that actually taste like BBQ and not like “whatever’s in the pantry.” The brown sugar + spicy mustard combo is genius.

    1. User avatar Freeman Nikolaus II says:

      5 stars
Right?? That’s exactly why I love this combo—brown sugar for the sweet depth, mustard for the tang. Can’t wait to try it with thicker smokies too.

  48. 2 stars
Watz up with this recipe? I thought it would be more complicated, but it’s just some can food?

  49. User avatar Falmer Nightprowler says:

    5 stars
So yummy! I added some jalapenos for a kick. Loved it!

  50. User avatar Carrie Dababi says:

    5 stars
Just made this and added jalapeños for an extra kick! So good!

  51. User avatar Dwarven Shpere says:

    2 stars
Way too sweet for me. I’m sure it’s amazing for potlucks, but I’d cut the brown sugar in half and add more BBQ sauce. Otherwise it’s dessert-beans.

  52. 5 stars
    Best bean recipe ever! 😍

  53. User avatar tommie.blanda says:

    4 stars
Could you use canned beans that aren’t pork? I have vegetarians at the picnic they’ll hate me if I bring these.

  54. User avatar liberal.hero says:

    5 stars
Made this for my BBQ, everyone ate it up! Even the picky eaters. 👏

    1. User avatar samual.smitham8 says:

      5 stars
That’s awesome! 🎉 I love when picky eaters enjoy the food! Did you change anything in the recipe?

    2. User avatar alvera.lang17 says:

      2 stars
Sounds good and all, but isn’t BBQ baked beans just full of sugar? Not really my thing.

  55. User avatar Arthur Dent says:

    5 stars
Finally, beans that don’t taste like sadness. The bacon + Little Smokies combo is genius—might make me a BBQ convert.

    1. User avatar verla.ziemann74 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—the Little Smokies + bacon combo is such a game changer. I’ve done something similar for game day and it always disappears fast. Might try adding that chopped onion next time for extra sweetness.

  56. User avatar george.bruen27 says:

    2 stars
I dunno, these beans were kinda bland. I expected more flavor with all that stuff.

  57. User avatar christy.ratke84 says:

    5 stars
I followed the ingredient list but I added the onion anyway. It turned out sweet, smoky, and not too tangy. Definitely “baked beans” and not just saucy beans.

  58. User avatar deshawn.runte13 says:

    1 star
literally just tossin’ cans together ??? i mean come on! 1 star.

  59. 5 stars
    Yummm! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  60. User avatar arnulfo.ward says:

    5 stars
My kids love these! Easy to make and everyone eats them at the cookout.

  61. User avatar Glorfindel says:

    3 stars
Isn’t this just dump n bake? I want somethin foodie…

  62. User avatar shaquana.bins says:

    4 stars
Ummm, do you seriously need 4 slices of bacon? Seems like overkill to me. But I guess bacon makes everything better?

  63. User avatar despina.oberbrunner2007 says:

    4 stars
I tried this recipe, but used turkey bacon instead. Still tasted great! Will definitely make again.

    1. User avatar rich.landlord says:

      3 stars
Does turkey bacon really taste the same? I think it might be kinda dry. But if you liked it, that’s what matters!

    2. User avatar lorette.botsford says:

      4 stars
Turkey bacon? Interesting choice! I bet it added a unique twist. Glad you liked it!

  64. User avatar miguelina.predovic says:

    5 stars
These BBQ baked beans are a hit at every party! The flavors mix so well together. Definitely making again!

  65. User avatar johnny.kuhn1958 says:

    3 stars
I’m not sure about the Little Smokies, sounds weird to me. Can I use real sausage instead? I don’t like processed stuff.

    1. User avatar ArabianNights says:

      5 stars
I totally understand! You can definitely use real sausage if you prefer. Just make sure to cook it first before adding it to the beans.

  66. 4 stars
I think I used normal mustard by mistake. Whoops! Still tasted real good tho.

  67. User avatar Barliman Butterbur says:

    5 stars
This is basically my childhood BBQ comfort food. I added the chopped onion (because optional is just a suggestion, right?) and it smelled amazing while baking. Next time I’ll crank the bacon up a bit.

  68. User avatar CTRLplusW says:

    5 stars
These beans make me feel like a grill master! BBQ goodies!

    1. User avatar marcelina.pfeffer36 says:

      5 stars
Haha, I love that! Nothing like BBQ beans to elevate your grill game. They really are a crowd favorite!

  69. 4 stars
Bacon is life. But they don’t look like the pic…

    1. User avatar Hotblack Desiato's bodyguard says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean! The pic looks perfect, but mine never turn out like that either. Still love it though!

  70. User avatar tera.kiehn says:

    5 stars
Yum! The bacon really makes it special. Everyone at my cookout loved them!

    1. User avatar wellRespected says:

I agree, bacon is the best! Adds so much flavor. Glad everyone enjoyed it! 😊

    2. User avatar halina.white81 says:

      2 stars
I dunno, beans with bacon? Sounds kinda weird to me. Is there a way to make it without the bacon? 🤔

  71. User avatar yaeko.lynch1988 says:

    2 stars
Not the best beans I’ve ever had. They were kinda sweet for my taste. But easy to make! 🤷‍♀️

  72. User avatar sam.volkman65 says:

    4 stars
Simple and delicious! Didn’t have all the ingredients but made it work.

  73. User avatar Tricia McMillan says:

    3 stars
Not real BBQ without real meat. Smoked brisket would be better than the little sausages.

    1. 4 stars
I see your point, but these little smokies are still super tasty! They make it easy for a crowd. Plus, not everyone can handle brisket!

  74. User avatar tory.fritsch98 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I accidentally doubled the mustard and now the flavor is kinda spicier than I like.

  75. 2 stars
Honestly, not sure. Beans are already sweet, so 1/2 cup brown sugar feels like a lot. If you like sweet-sweet BBQ then sure, but I’m more of a tang person. Still, bacon tho.

    1. User avatar dudley.smitham11 says:

      4 stars
I get you—beans can be sweet already. I usually start with 1/3 cup brown sugar and then taste before adding more. The spicy brown mustard + BBQ sauce help balance it so it’s not candy-sweet for me. And yeah… bacon makes everything better 😄

  76. User avatar synthia.collier11 says:

    3 stars
Ok but… the directions are incomplete? It jumps to “Preheat” and then stops. I’m assuming bake time is missing, so I gave it 4 stars anyway.

  77. User avatar tammera.bechtelar1967 says:

    3 stars
Beans beans they’re good for your heart! But these beans were too sweet for me.

  78. User avatar Ty Malone says:

    1 star
Yuck! I made this and the beans came out burnt! No idea what I did wrong… Didn’t preheat maybe?

  79. User avatar earle.robel41 says:

    1 star
BBQ sauce and beans? I mean, is this really a recipe? LOL

  80. User avatar Michael83 says:

    5 stars
These are the best beans ever! Had them at a cookout and everyone loved them!

  81. User avatar Michael83 says:

    4 stars
1 pound of Little Smokies feels like a lot (in a good way). I was worried it would be too salty from the bacon + beans, but it balanced out.

  82. 4 stars
The spicy brown mustard made it taste kinda like deli-style. I didn’t expect that. Next time I’ll use a little less mustard for my kids.

  83. User avatar Spriggan Matron says:

    4 stars
BBQ sauce? Brown sugar? Sounds like a diabetes waiting to happen but whatever, it was good.

    1. User avatar tamiko.prohaska8 says:

      5 stars
LOL, yeah, but they taste sooo good! Life’s too short to skip on flavors. 😋

    2. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

      4 stars
I get your point about sugar, but everything in moderation! These beans are super tasty. 🙌

  84. 3 stars
Not sure about the spicy brown mustard amount. I’m into mustard, but 1 tbsp might overpower the BBQ sauce for my taste. Might use a little less and see.

    1. 5 stars
Totally fair—spicy brown mustard can be strong. I usually start with 1/2 to 2/3 tbsp and add more only if I want that extra kick. The BBQ sauce really carries it, so going easy first is smart.

    2. User avatar irina.emmerich72 says:

      3 stars
Maybe you’re right, 1 tbsp sounds like a lot. I’d say just dump it all in though 😅—but if you don’t like heat, lessen it. Also 6 oz BBQ sauce seems low… could be thicker? Not sure. I’d try 1 tsp first.

  85. User avatar zofia.feil2000 says:

    5 stars
Bacon! Who doesn’t love bacon? Added extra and it was a hit!

    1. 5 stars
Bacon really makes everything better! Glad to hear it was a hit!

  86. User avatar lucien.jakubowski6 says:

    3 stars
350°F seems a little low/slow for baked beans. Mine took forever and I ended up cooking longer than I wanted.

Yum!!! I added extra bacon cause why not? So good!!!

  88. User avatar roscoe.koss1994 says:

I only see “2. Preheat your oven…” and then it just ends. Did you forget the rest of the steps? I can still guess, but c’mon.

  89. User avatar Falmer Warmonger says:

Sounds delicious, but isn’t it too sweet? I prefer more spice.

    1. 4 stars
I don’t think it’s too sweet! The smokies and bacon add a nice savory touch. But I guess everyone has their taste! Maybe add some cayenne pepper for a kick?

  90. User avatar leo.daugherty71 says:

    5 stars
Simple and delicious! Next time I might add some jalapeños for a kick.

    1. 2 stars
I dunno, I think the beans are good as is. Why mess with perfection?

    2. User avatar Justin Lynch says:

      5 stars
That sounds like a great idea! Jalapeños will definitely elevate the flavor.

This is the best recipe for baked beans I’ve tried! My family gobbled them up in no time!

    1. User avatar ignacio.kulas says:

I’m glad your family loved it! Those beans sound delicious, I might try it this weekend.

    Yummy! 👍

First time trying BBQ beans, did not disappoint! Thanks for the recipe.

  94. 4 stars
I like the idea, but 3 cans feels like cheating—still, the thick-cut bacon should carry the whole thing. Going to try it this weekend.

  95. User avatar hilma.kilback69 says:

    4 stars
Looks great and all but I can’t believe the bacon is left out of cooking step. That seems weird

  96. User avatar dawna.mertz says:

The spicy brown mustard is the secret, no joke. I was skeptical, then I took a bite and—wow.

  97. 3 stars
I found it a bit too sweet—6 oz BBQ sauce plus 1/2 cup brown sugar is a lot. Could be perfect if you love sweet beans though.

  98. User avatar santiago.cummerata75 says:

    2 stars
Would’ve been 5 stars if it had the full instructions. Like how long do you bake? What temp after? Kinda important, ya know.

  99. User avatar clarence.schmeler says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about the “drained” part. Beans need some liquid or they’ll dry out, but maybe the BBQ sauce saves it. Going to test and report back.

  100. User avatar Leto II Atreides says:

    3 stars
I found this recipe a bit too sweet for my taste. Maybe cut back on the brown sugar next time?

  101. User avatar monty.rohan22 says:

    3 stars
Not sure if my oven was off, but mine took way longer to bake. Frustrating!

  102. 5 stars
These are hands down the best baked beans I’ve ever made! So good with the Little Smokies!

  103. 4 stars
I added some jalapeños for an extra kick and they came out great! Spicy goodness!

  104. User avatar Lynn O. Liam says:

BBQ sauce is key! I used a local one and it made a huge difference.

Yummy! Reminded me of my mom’s recipe. Very tasty!

    1. User avatar kathlyn.dubuque87 says:

      2 stars
I dunno, sounds kinda simple to me. Where’s the real flavor?

    2. 5 stars
That sounds great! Nothing beats a recipe that brings back good memories. Glad you enjoyed it!

  106. User avatar chester.orn says:

This is not the “best ever” unless you crank the flavor—like add garlic or chili powder. Still, it was tasty.

    1. User avatar Trin Tragula says:

      3 stars
Idk, I made it as written and it was already strong. Maybe ppl just expect it to taste like restaurant bbq right away. I didnt use onion tho—maybe thats why? 🤷‍♂️

    2. User avatar asia.predovic84 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—BBQ baked beans are good, but “best ever” needs more punch. I always add garlic and a pinch of chili powder too. Still, the smoky bacon/smokies combo helps a lot.

  107. 2 stars
350°F for what, 30 minutes? 2 hours? The directions cut off after preheating and that’s kinda a problem. Ingredient-wise it seems fine, but I need full instructions to trust it.

    1. User avatar lyndon.predovic says:

      4 stars
Yeah the instructions definitely got cut off. I do it at 350°F for about 30 minutes after preheating, then stir and bake another 30—until it’s thick and bubbly. Not scientific, just what works for my pan. If you want it thicker, leave it uncovered for the second half.

  108. User avatar danika.nolan71 says:

Ran out of BBQ sauce so I used ketchup instead… it was not good. Stick to the recipe!

  109. User avatar evita.upton says:

My beans burnt at 350°F, are you sure it’s right? 😡

    1. User avatar esperanza.kozey14 says:

      4 stars
I had mine at 350°F and they turned out great! Maybe try checking your oven temp? 🤔

    2. User avatar Elder Kai says:

      2 stars
I don’t trust that temp! 350° seems too high for beans. Try lower next time.

  110. User avatar kristofer.willms says:

    4 stars
Maybe you could use different beans? I like kidney beans better. 🤷‍♂️

  111. User avatar jessie.kovacek6 says:

These look dangerously good. The combo of smokies + bacon + spicy mustard is exactly my kind of comfort food. 3 cans is the right amount of lazy too 😄

    1. 5 stars
Right?! Smokies + bacon is basically guaranteed comfort. I love that the mustard adds a little kick without stealing the show.

  112. 5 stars
Bacon in beans? Really? Seems weird, but I tried it and wow, mind blown!

  113. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

Baked beans from a can? Are you kidding me? Come on, people! Do better.

  114. User avatar Hotblack Desiato says:

    3 stars
I used regular mustard instead of spicy brown and it was still decent. Might not be the same, but it worked for me.

  115. 3 stars
My BBQ sauce was sweet and the brown sugar made it too sugary. I’ll reduce sugar next time or use a tangier sauce.

  116. 4 stars
Delicious! I added some jalapeños for a kick and it was amazing!

  117. User avatar dionne.boyer1953 says:

    5 stars
These beans are so delicious! I can’t get enough of them. Perfect for BBQs!

  118. User avatar candi.gleason22 says:

So easy to make, but what’s with the bacon? Isn’t this supposed to be vegetarian-friendly?

  119. 5 stars
Bacon and Little Smokies?! Yes, please! This is a winner in my book. 😋

  120. User avatar al.veum2001 says:

    3 stars
I used pork and beans but my grandma says you gotta use homecooked beans for the best recipe. 🤷‍♂️

  121. User avatar elissa.smith1951 says:

I don’t know, too much sugar for my taste. Didn’t turn out right for me.

  122. User avatar Dan Streetmentioner says:

    Yum!!!

    1. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

      3 stars
I dunno—“BBQ baked beans ever” is a big claim 😂 Also does it really need 3 cans? I feel like I could just use one big can…

    2. User avatar ivette.cassin24 says:

      5 stars
Yum!!! I’m craving these now. 😄 The combo of BBQ sauce + brown sugar + smokies sounds dangerously good.

  123. User avatar percy.robel says:

This is kinda like my grandpa’s beans but with more bacon. I like it. Sweet BBQ sauce can be too much sometimes, but the mustard keeps it from tasting flat.

  124. 5 stars
My family is picky and these were gone fast. Smokies in the beans = comfort food heaven. Next time I might double the bacon.

  125. User avatar annita.schumm55 says:

    4 stars
My family loves baked beans and this sounds close to our style. I’d use ketchup-ish BBQ sauce because that’s what I have, and maybe a dash more mustard. Smoked sausage instead of Little Smokies might also work.

  126. User avatar ira.goyette2026 says:

    3 stars
I don’t trust canned beans. Made my own but I bet these are tasty. Anyone tried with homemade beans?

  127. User avatar dwayne.greenholt75 says:

    5 stars
My family would eat this straight from the pan. I did add the onion and it gave it that homemade vibe. Great balance of sweet and smoky.

  128. User avatar anibal.mitchell1961 says:

Not sure about “spicy brown mustard”… I’m more of a regular yellow mustard person. But if the BBQ sauce is sweet enough, maybe it works?

    1. User avatar kirstin.botsford58 says:

      4 stars
I felt the same way—spicy brown mustard sounds weird with beans. But it gives a nice tang that “regular” mustard doesn’t. If your BBQ sauce is sweet, it balances out really well.

    2. 3 stars
Dude just use yellow mustard lol. Spicy brown is gonna make it too bitey unless you cut the sugar. I’d start with like half a tbsp or none if you hate heat.

  129. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, 350°F seems low for baked beans—mine needed closer to 45-60 min (and I think the smokies helped). Still good though, just plan extra time.

  130. User avatar orville.schmeler29 says:

    3 stars
I don’t know, seems a bit too sweet with all the sugar. Maybe less next time?

    1. User avatar ricki.kling3 says:

      3 stars
Too sweet? Nah! It’s BBQ, it’s supposed to be sweet and savory! You just gotta embrace it. 😉

    2. User avatar edwin.schneider1994 says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean! The sweetness can be overwhelming for some. Maybe try using a sugar substitute next time?
