Shrimp Tacos

November 8, 2024

Shrimp tacos are a light, flavorful, and quick-to-make dish that’s perfect for weeknight dinners, casual gatherings, or a fun twist on taco night. With tender, juicy shrimp seasoned with bold spices, fresh toppings, and a zesty sauce, these tacos deliver a perfect balance of flavors and textures in every bite.

To start, the shrimp are seasoned with a mix of spices like chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and a pinch of cayenne for heat. A squeeze of lime juice adds brightness and enhances the shrimp’s natural flavor. The shrimp are then quickly sautéed in a hot pan, cooking for just a few minutes until they turn pink and slightly crispy on the edges, making them tender yet full of flavor.

The tacos themselves are typically made with soft corn or flour tortillas, which serve as the perfect vessel to hold the shrimp and all the toppings. For toppings, you can go as simple or as elaborate as you like. A tangy, crunchy cabbage slaw made with shredded cabbage, cilantro, and a little lime juice is a great way to add texture and freshness. A drizzle of creamy chipotle sauce, made from mayonnaise, sour cream, and chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, brings a smoky, spicy kick that complements the shrimp perfectly.

To further elevate the tacos, top them with sliced avocado, fresh pico de gallo, or even a sprinkle of queso fresco for added creaminess and flavor. For an extra burst of freshness, a squeeze of lime just before serving ties everything together.

Shrimp tacos are incredibly versatile, so feel free to customize the toppings to your taste—whether you prefer a spicy salsa, a mild guacamole, or a sprinkling of fresh herbs.

For drinks, these tacos pair wonderfully with a light, citrusy beer like a pilsner, a refreshing margarita, or even a sparkling water with lime.

Shrimp tacos are a quick, flavorful meal that combines bright, fresh ingredients with a touch of spice, making them an exciting dish that’s sure to become a favorite.

These shrimp tacos were AMAZING! I couldn’t stop eating them! Will def make again!

Tacos r life! I just randomly saw this recipe online and had to try it.❤️

  3. 4 stars
I added some cheese on top, is that weird? Kind of a weird combo with shrimp but tasted good.

  4. User avatar victor.dickinson says:

    5 stars
Made these last night and they were seriously so good. The lime + salsa combo is perfect, and the cabbage adds that fresh crunch. Would absolutely cook again.

    1. User avatar carolynn.boyer1957 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—lime + salsa is such a winning combo for shrimp tacos. Love the fresh crunch from the cabbage. Glad you’d make them again!

  5. User avatar librada.lowe says:

Eh, tasted like cardboard with shrimp. Sorry, but I didn’t like it at all. 😒

    1. User avatar kayla.schamberger67 says:

      4 stars
I actually loved the flavors! Maybe try adding some hot sauce next time?

  6. User avatar junko.kunde42 says:

    4 stars
Followed it exactly and the shrimp came out pink and juicy. I might add a little garlic next time, but overall great flavor.

    1. 5 stars
Glad they turned out! Pink and juicy is exactly what you want—also good call on garlic. Just don’t overcook the shrimp, 2-3 minutes each side is the sweet spot.

    2. User avatar elliott.kshlerin84 says:

      3 stars
Hmm I followed it too but mine were kinda rubbery and not super juicy. I think my skillet was too hot? Also I used frozen shrimp… maybe that’s the problem. Garlic definitely sounds better though lol.

  7. User avatar Supreme Kai says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty, but I might’ve overcooked my shrimp—mine got a little rubbery at 3 minutes per side. Next time I’ll pull them as soon as they turn opaque.

  8. User avatar pandora.murazik1960 says:

    2 stars
This recipe was not good. My shrimp got too rubbery, I think I cooked them too long. Any tips?

    1. User avatar rozella.johnston48 says:

      4 stars
Maybe try not to cook them for so long? 2-3 minutes is usually enough. Just cook until they turn pink!

  9. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

These shrimp are not even good. I prefer fish tacos any day.

  10. User avatar argelia.hoppe91 says:

    4 stars
I don’t like cilantro (sorry), so I swapped parsley. Still came out okay but kinda lacked that fresh pop. Also used mild salsa and I’d go spicier next time.

  11. User avatar booker.mosciski25 says:

    1 star
No thanks. I can’t eat shrimp (allergic). But my friend tried this and said it was delicious. 😬

    1. 3 stars
But shrimp’s like, the best part! You should try a different filling next time!

    2. User avatar Slaughterfish says:

      4 stars
I’m sorry to hear you’re allergic! At least your friend could enjoy it. 🌮

  12. User avatar rodney.lebsack86 says:

    5 stars
These shrimp tacos are sooooo good! My family loved them. Will definitely make again.

  13. User avatar shawnta.nolan says:

    2 stars
Disagree—shrimp should be marinated longer? 15 min minimum or it’s not seasoned inside. Right now it feels like only the outside got flavor.

  14. User avatar josiah.nikolaus33 says:

    5 stars
These tacos are the best!! So easy to make and so tasty. I added some avocado on top. Yum! 🌮🌟

  15. User avatar Benita Kshlerin says:

    5 stars
Tacos? More like mini flavor bombs! My friends can’t stop asking for the recipe.

    1. 5 stars
I agree! These tacos are a hit at every party. I can’t believe how easy they are to make too.

    2. User avatar hal.okeefe13 says:

      2 stars
Mini flavor bombs? More like mini disasters! My shrimp turned out all mushy. What did I do wrong?

  16. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    3 stars
The recipe is simple but needs more flavor. It was a bit bland for my taste. Next time, I’m adding some hot sauce.

  17. User avatar willie.stanton23 says:

    5 stars
Wow, shrimp tacos! Never thought of that. Gonna try this for my next BBQ.

  18. User avatar leonardo.murazik56 says:

    4 stars
Good weeknight recipe. I’d recommend warming tortillas until slightly charred—way better texture.

  19. 2 stars
I don’t get it. Tacos with shrimp are kinda fishy and I feel like cilantro ruins things. (But my roommate ate all of them, so…)

    1. User avatar enoch.walter4 says:

      5 stars
I get the “fishy” vibe, but shrimp isn’t supposed to taste like fish if it’s cooked right—2-3 minutes each side is key. Also cilantro is optional; you can swap it for chopped parsley or just leave it out and use more lime/salsa. Your roommate has good instincts 😄

  20. User avatar Death Hound says:

    5 stars
So easy! My whole family went back for seconds. The cilantro + lime combo is chef’s kiss.

  21. User avatar merry.lebsack28 says:

    3 stars
I don’t know… I felt like it needed more flavor. The shrimp were nice, but kinda bland. Maybe add garlic next time?

  22. User avatar taylor.cole26 says:

    4 stars
Yum! My kids loved them! I even added some cheese on top and they devoured it. Will make again!

  23. User avatar shira.hill75 says:

    2 stars
Not sure about the amount of chili powder—felt a bit mild for me. Also, I used corn tortillas and they tore a little when I folded them. Flavor was okay, but texture was annoying.

  24. User avatar Ethel L. Cahall says:

    5 stars
These shrimp tacos are bomb! I love how simple they are, and they taste amazing. Definitely a keeper!

  25. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    4 stars
I followed it pretty closely, but I used flour tortillas and honestly I think corn would’ve held up better. Next time I’ll use corn and probably add a little garlic to the shrimp.

    1. User avatar monty.lindgren53 says:

      5 stars
I agree—corn tortillas usually hold up better with saucier shrimp. Garlic sounds like a great tweak too. Did you add it to the shrimp mix or more like a sauce?

  26. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid and easy weeknight meal. I was worried 2-3 minutes per side would overcook, but mine were spot on at 2 minutes. Next time I might add a little garlic to the chili mix.

  27. 4 stars
I’m skeptical about cooking shrimp that fast, but it was true—quick cook, no fuss. I’ll keep this in rotation. Also, love the cabbage in tacos.

  28. User avatar dion.parker13 says:

    3 stars
Easy and fast, but my shrimp cooked a little too long (my pan was hotter than expected). Still good, just chewier than I wanted.

  29. User avatar kimbra.shields1995 says:

    1 star
How much is a ‘cup’? Is it like the same as a coffee cup? 🤔 Anyway, I tried my best but it wasn’t great.

    1. User avatar norbert.mccullough2014 says:

      5 stars
A ‘cup’ usually means 8 ounces. But using a coffee cup is fine too! Just make sure you’re consistent. Keep trying, you got this! 🌮

  30. User avatar walter.moen says:

    4 stars
Shrimp are from the sea, right? That’s all I know about them. But these tacos taste good for sure!

  31. 4 stars
Super easy weeknight meal. I used flour tortillas and it still worked great. Next time I’ll maybe char the tortillas a bit longer for more flavor.

  32. 5 stars
Made these tonight and they’re honestly a solid weeknight win. The shrimp cook fast and stay juicy, and the lime/salsa combo really brightens everything up.

    1. User avatar elbert.tremblay53 says:

      3 stars
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical about the time—2-3 minutes each side feels like it could overcook shrimp. I tried anyway and mine came out a little rubbery, so next time I’ll pull them sooner. Still tasty though with the salsa + lime.

    2. 5 stars
I made these and totally agree—super quick. I only had a mango salsa and it still worked great with the lime. Shrimp stayed juicy even though I cooked closer to 2 minutes.

  33. User avatar lindsay.schultz says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about shrimp in tacos, but wow! The chili powder really makes a difference. Definitely a keeper!

  34. User avatar Lunkwill and Fook says:

    5 stars
Super good! We had a taco night and these were the hit of the party! 💃🌮

    1. User avatar robbie.botsford96 says:

      5 stars
Sounds awesome! I love shrimp tacos! Gonna try this recipe soon. 🦐🌮

  35. User avatar tyler.ernser says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid, but I think 2-3 minutes each side might be a little much depending on the shrimp size. I’d start checking at like 1.5-2 minutes.

  36. User avatar lecia.bins84 says:

    2 stars
I tried this and the tortillas turned out dry. Maybe I microwaved too long? Also I forgot the cilantro at first—still tasted okay, but with it probably better.

    1. User avatar steve_maga says:

      4 stars
Totally could be the microwave time—corn tortillas dry out fast. I usually warm them like 20–30 seconds, then wrap them in a clean towel while I cook/assemble. Also if the shrimp got a little overcooked, they can feel dry too, but the tortillas are my main suspect.

    2. User avatar terrance.grant16 says:

      5 stars
Dang, tortillas dry is the worst 😩. I think microwaving is usually too long, like you said. Next time try heating them in a pan quick with a little splash of water and cover it. (Also cilantro is kinda the whole vibe.)

  37. 2 stars
This looks so good! But why not use chicken instead? Tacos are suppose to be chicken!

  38. User avatar steve_maga says:

    5 stars
Made these tonight—super fast and actually tasted like a real taco spot. The lime + salsa combo is perfect. I used flour tortillas and it was great.

  39. User avatar ivan.marks2019 says:

    3 stars
I followed it exactly and it tasted kinda bland to me. Next time I’ll add cumin or a spicy mayo. Salsa helped, but still needed more seasoning.

    1. User avatar dion.harber56 says:

      5 stars
Honestly I’d do cumin too. Chili powder can be kinda one-note. I also add a little smoked paprika and black pepper—then it tastes more like street tacos. Spicy mayo on top sounds perfect 😅

    2. User avatar luther.moen66 says:

      4 stars
Sorry it was bland for you! I think the lime + salsa usually bring a lot of flavor—if yours was mild, maybe increase the chili powder a touch (or add garlic/onion powder) and add extra salt directly to the shrimp. Also letting the shrimp sit with the seasoning 5-10 min helps.

  40. User avatar mitsuko.nicolas says:

    4 stars
Really loved how fast these were! Didnt have cilantro so used parsley instead and it still worked. Thanks!

  41. User avatar ezequiel.lind87 says:

    5 stars
Easy & quick! Perfect for a busy weeknight. Thanks for this simple recipe!

  42. User avatar henry.jaskolski8 says:

    5 stars
These tacos were a hit at my family dinner! Everyone loved them!

  43. 5 stars
These shrimp tacos were shockingly good for how quick they are. The chili powder + lime combo is perfect, and the cabbage adds a nice crunch. I used flour tortillas—still great.

    1. User avatar federico.raynor84 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this combo is legit. I’m always shocked how fast shrimp tacos turn out, and the lime really makes the chili pop. I’ve also done flour tortillas and they still slap.

  44. 4 stars
I don’t usually cook with cabbage in tacos, but wow—surprisingly good texture. My only gripe is the tortillas got a bit cold by the time I finished assembling.

    1. User avatar marlin.gutkowski1988 says:

      5 stars
Good call on warming the tortillas—shrimp cooks fast and assembly is the real race 😅. I usually keep tortillas wrapped in a towel or in a low oven so they stay hot. Love the cabbage texture idea!

    2. User avatar water buffalo says:

      3 stars
Cabbage in tacos sounds weird but if it works then ok. Tacos getting cold is cuz shrimp takes like 10 minutes? lol. Maybe heat tortillas longer or put everything in hot first? Also I’d use flour tortillas—corn gets stiff.

  45. User avatar ernie.heathcote1966 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but what kind of salsa do I use? Mine just wasn’t flavorful. Any suggestions?

  46. User avatar daniela.jakubowski32 says:

    5 stars
I thought shrimp tacos were for fancy restaurants only. But I made these last night and they were sooo good! Will be making again.

  47. User avatar anibal.nikolaus75 says:

    5 stars
Yum!! The kids devoured them! I didn’t think they would eat shrimp, but they loved it. Will make again!

    1. User avatar Trin Tragula says:

      2 stars
Shrimp tacos? Not sure about that. My friend said shrimp is like the roaches of the sea. You sure they ate it? 🤔

    2. User avatar Elza Kuhic says:

      5 stars
That’s awesome to hear! My kids are picky, so I was worried they wouldn’t like it. Maybe I’ll give it a try! 😊

  48. User avatar glady.hodkiewicz66 says:

    5 stars
Yum! Love tacos! I added avocado and it was even better. 💚

    1. 2 stars
I don’t know, man. Tacos with avocado? Sounds weird. Stick to the basics, right?

    2. 5 stars
Avocado makes everything better! Great idea! 🌮

  49. User avatar horacio.bogisich79 says:

    3 stars
Could use more seasoning. Like, the chili powder is fine but I wanted more heat—maybe add cumin or a dash of smoked paprika. Overall tasty though.

    1. User avatar Bill Dollar says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—those shrimp are a little mild as written. I usually bump the chili powder and add cumin (and sometimes smoked paprika) for more depth. Even a pinch of cayenne helps if you want real heat. Glad you still liked them though!

  50. User avatar virginia.kutch39 says:

    5 stars
These shrimp tacos are AMAZING! Super easy to make and so tasty! Definitely a five-star experience!

    1. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

      4 stars
I tried these and they did taste good, but mine kinda fell apart. Maybe I need to work on my taco assembling skills! 😂

  51. User avatar Rosette Beier says:

    5 stars
    Wow! So good.

  52. User avatar scot.miller1 says:

I don’t really like shrimp, but my partner does. He loved it! I guess that’s what counts.

  53. User avatar Mrs. Marie says:

These were okay. I guess if you love seafood you might like them but I called my mom and she said tacos are beef. 🤷‍♂️

  54. User avatar williams.hegmann says:

Quick and easy recipe! Perfect for a weeknight meal. Will make again.

  55. User avatar rich.rath1959 says:

    3 stars
Not bad. Just a basic shrimp taco recipe. I expected more wow factor.

  56. 2 stars
I tried this with frozen shrimp and it turned out soggy. But fresh shrimp were great. Just a tip!

    1. 3 stars
I dunno about that. Frozen shrimp can still be good if cooked right. Maybe it was the cooking time?

    2. 5 stars
Thanks for the tip! I’ll remember to use fresh shrimp next time. Can’t wait to try these tacos again!

  57. 5 stars
Yum! Taco night success! 🌮 You gotta try these!

  58. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

I didn’t really like the chili powder, it tasted weird. Maybe try with less?

  59. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Kwaltz says:

Easy to make but I didn’t have cilantro, so I used parsley instead. Still good but not the same.

  60. 5 stars

    1. User avatar nolan.veum1991 says:

I totally get that! Maybe try adding some cumin or paprika next time for extra flavor!

  63. User avatar andy.oberbrunner says:

  65. User avatar jamie.hauck38 says:

Used lettuce instead of cabbage and forgot the lime. Still turned out pretty good! #notperfect

    1. 4 stars
Glad to hear it still turned out good! Lettuce can be a nice change. 😊

  66. 2 stars
Ok but where’s the seasoning? Like no garlic, no cumin… I don’t get it. Shrimp tacos should have more flavor than just chili powder.

    1. User avatar cleo.romaguera says:

      4 stars
Totally hear you. This recipe keeps it pretty simple—chili powder + salt are doing the heavy lifting, and the salsa + lime + cilantro are the “flavor boost.” If you want garlic/cumin, I’d add 1 clove minced garlic and 1/2 tsp cumin to the shrimp mix and it’ll taste way more like classic street-style.

    2. User avatar kaley.stracke says:

      2 stars
Idk i made it and it was fine tbh. The salsa had flavor so the shrimp didnt need garlic. Maybe i used a spicy salsa tho… but just adding more spices would mess it up.

  67. User avatar sammy.towne says:

    5 stars
Absolutely delicious! I made these last night and they were a hit with the whole family. Will definitely make again!

    1. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

Glad you loved it! Shrimp tacos are always a family fave! What salsa did you use?

  68. User avatar al.schowalter1987 says:

Uh, is it really that easy? Just 2-3 minutes for shrimp? Sounds too good to be true!

    1. User avatar liberal.hero says:

      5 stars
I was skeptical too, but it really is that quick! These tacos are delicious!

    2. User avatar mildred.koch39 says:

      2 stars
2-3 minutes sounds too rushed for shrimp. Are you sure they won’t be overcooked?

  69. User avatar karine.steuber says:

    2 stars
I mean… they’re just shrimp, right? I expected more flavor. Kinda bland tbh.

  70. User avatar jack.koepp2021 says:

    5 stars
These came together super fast and the shrimp stayed juicy. The lime + salsa combo is 🔥. I used corn tortillas and they held up great.

  71. User avatar halflife4 says:

    4 stars
Solid recipe, but I think 1 tbsp olive oil is a little much for 1 lb shrimp—mine felt a bit oily. Next time I’ll cut it down and add more chili powder maybe.

  72. User avatar Thufir Hawat says:

    4 stars
Soo good and so easy! Made these on a weekday and even my husband liked them. 👏

  73. User avatar richard.rolfson says:

    4 stars
Not bad! I was worried about the chili powder being too strong, but it was actually balanced. I added a little garlic powder too—highly recommend.

  74. 5 stars
My family ate these so quickly I didn’t even get a second taco. I swapped cabbage for shredded lettuce and it was still great.

  75. User avatar leon.greenfelder84 says:

    5 stars
I followed the steps exactly and it turned out perfect—pink and opaque exactly when it should. The lime + cilantro combo is everything.

  76. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    3 stars
I made these but I used frozen shrimp and they didn’t taste fresh at all, sad face. Still edible though!

  77. User avatar gonzalo.bergnaum2015 says:

Shrimp tacos are life! Anyone who doesn’t like shrimp is missing out!

    1. 5 stars
Agreed! Shrimp tacos are the best! Can’t believe some people don’t like shrimp. Their loss! 😋

  78. 5 stars
Honestly, 5 stars. I’m not a chef or nothing, but this was easy and tasted restaurant-y. Lime made it pop.

  79. 2 stars
Why do people put lime on tacos? It taste weird to me. I just leave that out.

  80. User avatar Miss Tyrell Skiles says:

    2 stars
Shrimp cooked in 2-3 minutes each side?? That’s wild to me. Mine curled a lot and got rubbery. Next time I’ll cook less and maybe marinate longer.

    1. User avatar dalene.walter85 says:

      5 stars
Yeah, 2–3 min per side is pretty quick—if it’s too hot or the shrimp are bigger/thicker, it can go rubbery fast. I usually pull them when they just turn pink and curl into a loose “C”, not tightly coiled. Also pat them dry before cooking.

    2. 3 stars
2-3 minutes each side? Mine always overcooks too 😩 I think I’m doing something wrong. Maybe my pan too hot… but marinate longer sounds like a good fix. What kind of salsa do you use—like chunky or smooth?

  81. 4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about 2-3 minutes per side, but it came out great—pink and not rubbery. Super quick weeknight meal.

  82. 3 stars
I followed it exactly and… they were kinda bland. Also, 2-3 minutes each side felt short—mine turned out slightly overcooked, so I’d watch the timing closer.

  83. User avatar wallace.pfeffer1955 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I expected more flavor from just chili powder and salt. I added some garlic powder and cumin and then it finally tasted like “real” taco seasoning.

  84. User avatar charlsie.huels says:

    3 stars
Does it really take only 6 minutes to cook shrimp? Mine took longer. Not sure I trust the timing.

    1. 4 stars
I know, right? Shrimp can be tricky. Maybe your heat wasn’t high enough? Or the shrimp were too big. They usually cook quick tho!

  85. User avatar calista.braun26 says:

    3 stars
The shrimp was a bit tough for me. Did I overcook it? Going to try again, maybe with less time on the skillet.

  86. User avatar joe.haley57 says:

    2 stars
Shrimp tacos sound good on paper, but I’m skeptical. 2-3 minutes per side seems too exact—mine were overcooked and rubbery. Maybe my pan runs hot? The seasoning is fine.

  87. User avatar lakeisha.greenfelder says:

    4 stars
Made these for dinner tonight and they were a hit. Shrimp cooked in like no time, and the cabbage gave a nice crunch. Would definitely make again.

  88. 2 stars
I used what I had: pre-cooked shrimp, and I still did the “each side” step… big mistake lol. Tacos were good but the shrimp were dry.

    1. User avatar pasty.waelchi says:

      4 stars
Ahhh yeah—pre-cooked shrimp changes everything. Doing the “each side” step can absolutely dry them out. Next time I’d just warm them through (like 30–60 seconds per side) or even add them to the pan off-heat. Glad the tacos still tasted good though!

  89. User avatar jacquelin.sporer says:

    3 stars
I don’t know… the shrimp was a bit rubbery. Maybe I cooked it too long?

  90. 4 stars
I used flour tortillas and it was still great, but I think corn would be better for the crunch. Cabbage adds a nice fresh bite—will make again for sure.

  91. User avatar Ilban Richese says:

    3 stars
I tried this recipe and thought it was ok, but wasn’t super impressed. I feel like it needed more flavor. Maybe some garlic?

  92. 3 stars
Not bad, but 2-3 minutes per side felt a bit long for my skillet (they got slightly rubbery). Still tasty with the salsa and cabbage.

    1. 5 stars
Good call! I think shrimp can go rubbery fast depending on thickness and skillet heat. I usually do like 1–2 min per side for smaller shrimp—pink/opaque but still tender is the goal.

    2. User avatar shani.shanahan says:

      3 stars
Huh, I actually cooked mine 3 min each side and they were fine. Maybe medium-high was too hot for yours? Try lowering to medium and watch closely. Also if your shrimp are big, the timing might change a lot.

  93. 3 stars
My kids didn’t like the cabbage. Next time I’ll just use lettuce. But the shrimp was good!

  94. 3 stars
I love shrimp tacos, but I think you need more seasoning. The chili powder + salt was kinda mild for me—could use cumin or smoked paprika.

  95. User avatar donald.tillman5 says:

    4 stars
I’m not a cilantro person (I know, I know), so I swapped it for green onion. Tastes fresher that way. Also the cabbage adds a good crunch.

  96. User avatar Augustine Rippin says:

    1 star
Shrimp tacos? More like SHRIMP YUCKos! 😂🤢

  97. User avatar alfonso.boehm says:

    2 stars
Meh. Tasted fine, but it was kinda bland and messy. Also I used cilantro and it tasted like soap to me (i know, genetic thing, whatever).

    1. User avatar gail.russel2008 says:

      5 stars
Totally get it—soap-y cilantro is real for some people. I usually swap cilantro for green onion or extra lime zest and it fixes the taste. Also you might try adding a bit more chili powder/salt or a squeeze of lime right after cooking the shrimp so they don’t come out bland.

  98. User avatar ronald.oconner26 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but mine needed more seasoning. I added a pinch more salt and some garlic powder because I’m like that. Still a solid taco base.

    1. User avatar jeffie.effertz says:

      5 stars
Totally get it—I always end up needing a little extra salt too. Garlic powder sounds like it would add a nice kick. What chili powder did you use?

  99. 2 stars
Meh. I expected more flavor. Maybe some garlic would help? Not sure if I will make these again.

  100. User avatar florencia.feest58 says:

    4 stars
I liked it, but I think my shrimp cooked a little too fast on medium-high. Next time I’ll go a touch lower heat. Flavor was still great though—couldn’t stop eating them.

    1. User avatar emilie.boehm says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—shrimp can go from perfect to rubbery fast on medium-high. I usually keep it closer to medium and only cook until just pink/opaque (usually ~1.5–2 min per side depending on thickness). Glad the flavor still hit though!

  101. User avatar Ma'randru-jo says:

    5 stars
These were AMAZING. I upped the chili powder a bit and added some sliced jalapeños—total crowd pleaser. Shrimp cooked up perfectly at 2–3 minutes.

  102. 4 stars
I don’t trust cooking shrimp that fast lol. Thought it would be raw inside, but nope—actually cooked great. Wild how easy this is.

  103. User avatar Wellington Yueh says:

    4 stars
This recipe is super easy! I added some avocado on top too, made it even better!

  104. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    3 stars
Shrimp takes 2-3 minutes each side? seems too short lol. Mine was kinda underdone until I cooked a bit longer. Once adjusted, it was actually pretty good.

  105. User avatar jorge.baumbach31 says:

    5 stars
Made these tonight—super quick and the shrimp actually came out nice and juicy. The chili powder + lime combo is 🔥. I used corn tortillas and they held up well.

  106. User avatar isaias.bailey says:

    Delicious!

    1. 5 stars
Thanks! These shrimp tacos are seriously quick and flavorful—perfect for a weeknight. 😄

  107. User avatar morgan.gutkowski76 says:

    4 stars
Tacos are tacos, right? This was fast and tasted good. My kid asked for more, so that’s a win in my book.

    1. User avatar lemuel.moore33 says:

      4 stars
I mean… it’s pretty much just shrimp in a tortilla lol. Sounds tasty though. I’d probably add a little garlic or cumin, but 2-3 min each side seems short—maybe I’m overcooking mine.

    2. 5 stars
Yes—tacos are tacos 😄. The fast part matters when you’ve got kids. Glad your little one wanted seconds!

  108. User avatar Hillman Hunter says:

    3 stars
My tortillas tore a bit when I assembled them. Maybe I warmed them too hot. Flavor was solid, just the presentation was meh.

  109. User avatar samual.bernhard26 says:

    3 stars
Eh… it was okay. The shrimp seasoning is fine but it needed more heat. Also my tortillas tore a bit—maybe I didn’t warm them enough.

  110. User avatar moira.carroll says:

    5 stars
Can’t believe how simple this is. The cilantro + lime makes it feel restaurant-level. I even used store salsa and it still worked.

  111. User avatar reda.macgyver says:

    2 stars
1 cup salsa and 1 cup cabbage sounds random. Like, how do those amounts even balance? I guess it worked, but I had way more topping than tacos could hold.

    1. User avatar robbie.friesen13 says:

      4 stars
Yeah it totally sounds random, but cabbage + salsa work because the cabbage is mostly volume/texture while the salsa is moisture/flavor. If you scoop a big salsa ladle, it can definitely run over the taco though 😅

  112. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz says:

    2 stars
I did exactly the recipe and somehow my shrimp got rubbery 😩. I think my pan was too hot? Still ate them though. Toppings were great—cabbage and salsa saved it.

  113. User avatar stan.rolfson30 says:

    5 stars
These were surprisingly good—quick to make and the lime really brightens everything. I used flour tortillas and they held up well.

    1. User avatar sabina.torphy1958 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Totally agree on the lime—made them taste way fresher. I did corn tortillas and they didn’t get soggy either. Great quick weeknight meal.

    2. 2 stars
I tried this but mine were kinda bland 😕 I followed the steps—shrimp 2-3 min each side, lime squeezed last. Maybe I used the wrong chili powder or not enough salsa? Still edible though.

  114. User avatar Denae Schaefer DDS says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I think the seasoning could be stronger. I ended up adding extra chili powder and a pinch of smoked paprika for more flavor. Also, I wish the cabbage was a bit softer—maybe quick sauté it next time.

  115. User avatar Galaxia Woonbeam says:

    4 stars
Yummy! But I subbed the shrimp with chicken, still good!!!

  116. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

    4 stars
Ok ok not bad. quick dinner. Would make again

  117. User avatar mathWizard says:

    2 stars
Ok but could’ve used more spice. My salsa already has heat so it wasn’t even, and I kinda forgot the cilantro… still ate them all tho lol.

  118. User avatar wellRespected says:

    3 stars
I followed it exactly and it was… fine. Kinda bland even with salsa. Maybe I needed more salt or a spicier salsa.

    1. User avatar lucky777 says:

      5 stars
Yeah, “fine” is a very real verdict for these. I bet the salsa/lime balance is doing most of the work—if your salsa is mild, it’ll taste bland fast. Try adding a little more salt to the shrimp (even 1/4 tsp more), and use a hotter salsa (or a squeeze of lime + extra cilantro).

  119. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    4 stars
Salsa of choice is doing a lot of work here 😅 I used a mild salsa and it felt a little bland, but once I added extra lime and some hot sauce it fixed everything.

    1. User avatar shanti.prosacco87 says:

      5 stars
So true—your salsa is basically the main seasoning. I always go heavier on lime too; it wakes everything up. Next time I’ll try adding a bit of hot sauce like you did!

  120. User avatar macy.cummings says:

    5 stars
Lowkey amazing. Way better than takeout. Would eat again tomorrow.

    1. User avatar osvaldo.larson1971 says:

      5 stars
Right?! I made these once and now takeout feels kinda sad. The lime + salsa combo is everything 🔥

  121. User avatar lenna.predovic1987 says:

    3 stars
These were good but I couldn’t get the tortillas to warm right—microwave made them chewy. I wish the instructions mentioned a quick toast in a dry skillet.

  122. User avatar delinda.klocko2017 says:

I tried it and it was meh. Lime made it weirdly sour for me.

    1. User avatar steve_maga says:

      4 stars
Maybe you used too much lime? I always do lime after—like barely a squeeze. And if the shrimp is overcooked it can taste “off” too. Try 1/2 lime next time.

    2. User avatar dovie.johnson says:

      3 stars
Hah, sorry it didn’t hit for you 😅 Lime can definitely swing things—next time I’d start with a smaller squeeze (or add it right before eating). Also, if your salsa is already tangy, that combo can get super sour.

  123. User avatar louanne.bernhard91 says:

    3 stars
I’m not sure about cooking 2-3 minutes per side. My shrimp were overcooked at that time (rubbery). Maybe my pan was too hot? Still tasty though!

  124. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but the cabbage was kinda plain for me. I added some hot sauce and a little garlic salt on top and suddenly it tasted way more exciting.

  125. User avatar ben.ruecker6 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but mine came out a little bland. I think my chili powder was weak or my salsa was mild. More lime helped though.

  126. User avatar Leto Atreides says:

    5 stars
Honestly? Way better than I expected. I had leftover cabbage and shrimp was easy. My family kept asking for more—nothing fancy but flavorful.

  127. 5 stars
Super easy and honestly really tasty. I added a little garlic powder to the shrimp and it bumped the flavor up a lot. The lime + salsa combo is perfect.

  128. User avatar hyman.hessel25 says:

    5 stars
These were way better than I expected—juicy shrimp and the chili seasoning really pops. I added a little garlic powder to the shrimp and it tasted like a legit taco stand.

  129. User avatar angelika.conroy says:

    3 stars
Pretty good, but my shrimp got a little rubbery because I left it a minute too long. Next time I’ll pull them the second they turn opaque.

    1. User avatar kyle.grady says:

      5 stars
Yep—shrimp is super unforgiving. The moment it turns opaque, I yank it too. Rubber city if you blink 😅

    2. User avatar gloria.sawayn says:

      4 stars
Mine were kinda chewy once, so I think your timing tip is spot on. Also I think I overcooked the shrimp because my pan was too hot lol. Maybe 2 mins is enough?

  130. User avatar afton.dare1971 says:

    5 stars
Super easy and honestly so good. The lime + salsa combo really makes it pop. I used flour tortillas and it still tasted fresh and bright—will make again for sure.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree! That lime + salsa combo is the difference maker—makes the shrimp taste way more vibrant. I used corn tortillas and it was still super fresh. Definitely adding to my repeat list.

    2. User avatar son.green10 says:

      4 stars
I tried it but my shrimp came out a little overcooked at 3 min per side 😅 Next time I’ll watch closer. Still tasted good though—maybe I just had the pan too hot. What salsa did you use?
