Pecan Pie Bars

September 18, 2024

Pecan Pie Bars are everything you love about traditional pecan pie, transformed into easy-to-serve, bite-sized treats. They capture all the rich, buttery, and nutty goodness of the classic holiday dessert but with the convenience of a handheld bar. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or anytime you crave that sweet, sticky filling with a satisfying crunch.

These bars start with a buttery shortbread-like crust that acts as the perfect base. It’s tender but sturdy enough to hold the gooey pecan topping without falling apart. The topping itself is rich and luscious, filled with toasted pecans coated in a caramel-like mixture that’s perfectly sweet with a deep, molasses-like flavor. Each bite delivers the satisfying crunch of pecans balanced by the smooth, melt-in-your-mouth filling.

Pecan Pie Bars are often a hit at holiday gatherings, potlucks, or dessert tables because of their simplicity and shareable nature. Instead of slicing a traditional pie, you can serve these as neat squares or rectangles, making them easy to grab and enjoy without the need for plates or forks. They pack the same decadent flavors but with less fuss, which is always a win during busy celebrations.

Beyond the holidays, these bars are a treat that fits almost any occasion. They’re a great addition to bake sales, family picnics, or casual coffee breaks. Their combination of crunchy pecans, buttery crust, and sweet filling strikes a perfect balance that appeals to both those who love rich desserts and those who prefer something nutty and textured.

Pecan Pie Bars also store beautifully. Whether kept in the fridge for a firmer bite or left at room temperature for a softer, chewier texture, they maintain their flavor and consistency for days. Some even like to drizzle a little chocolate on top for an extra indulgent twist or sprinkle a bit of sea salt to contrast the sweetness.

Whether you’re making them for a special gathering or just because you’re craving something sweet and nutty, Pecan Pie Bars are a timeless dessert that never disappoints. They’re rich, comforting, and a true crowd-pleaser.

I don’t like pecans, so I used walnuts instead and it was still pretty nice. 😋

  2. User avatar Shaddam Corrino IV says:

These were dangerously good. The crust is buttery and the filling sets up nicely after cooling—mine came out perfectly browned around the edges.

  3. User avatar Samara DuBuque says:

    5 stars
Best recipe ever! They are a hit at family gatherings. Will make again for sure! 🍰

  4. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    5 stars
These bars are amazing! I can’t stop eating them! 😍

  5. 4 stars
I’m skeptical because corn syrup always feels weird in desserts, but wow—this actually tastes like classic pecan pie. Good call adding vanilla.

  6. User avatar mike.muller1973 says:

    3 stars
Love pecans but 1 1/2 cup corn syrup sounds insane. Still, I tried it and it worked. Just very sweet—serve with coffee or something unsweet.

    1. User avatar Dell Howell says:

      5 stars
Yeah, I totally get why 1 1/2 cups corn syrup sounds wild 😅 But pecan pie is basically a sugar-and-syrup situation—still, these bars are ridiculously sweet. Coffee really helps.

  7. 4 stars
Ok but 2 cups flour + butter? Seems a bit dry, i added like 1-2 tbsp water and it pressed better. Flavor is still great. Would make again.

    1. User avatar cheyenne.schowalter59 says:

      5 stars
Good catch! The crust can feel a little dry depending on how you measure/sift the flour. I’ve found pressing easier when the butter is really soft (almost spreadable) and the flour is measured lightly. Love that the flavor still worked out—these bars are worth it.

  8. 4 stars
The filling set nicely, but the sweetness is ON POINT—almost too sweet for my family. I might reduce the brown sugar a bit next time.

    1. User avatar Spider Worker says:

      5 stars
I totally agree on the sweetness—these are delicious but my family finds them a bit candy-like. Next time I’m thinking 1/2 cup brown sugar instead of 3/4. Did you reduce just the brown sugar or also the corn syrup?

    2. 4 stars
Maybe it’s just my oven, but mine came out really sweet too. I’ll try cutting the brown sugar like you said. Also, I accidentally used dark corn syrup once and it was way too much—so heads up if anyone’s substituting.

  9. User avatar rachele.jast says:

    1 star
I don’t see why people rave about pecans. They taste like earthy wood. Pass.

  10. User avatar jaime.bayer96 says:

    4 stars
Yummy! But can I use walnuts instead of pecans? I like them better.

  11. 4 stars
Wow, yum! Pecan pie but in a bar? Genius! I love how easy these are to make.

    1. 5 stars
I know right? I’ve never thought of pecan pie in bar form! Can’t wait to try this!

  12. User avatar adolph.bosco says:

    5 stars
These turned out insanely good—super rich and the pecans taste way more “toasty” than I expected. I let them cool longer than the recipe says and they cut way cleaner. 10/10 holiday bar.

  13. User avatar mable.lindgren35 says:

    4 stars
I’m not a big fan of pecans, can I use walnuts instead? Will it taste the same?

  14. User avatar Leto Atreides says:

    2 stars
Honestly, I think the baking time is off. 15 min crust then 30 min filling feels like it could use more structure. Mine stayed soft in the middle.

  15. User avatar erik.emmerich says:

    1 star
I think I missed something, mine didn’t look like yours! Just a runny mess.

  16. User avatar horace.rosenbaum says:

    2 stars
Nice recipe but this is not pie!! It’s just a bar form. LOL

  17. User avatar Stanley Morar says:

    2 stars
Not gonna lie, this felt super sweet—like straight-up syrupy. I’ll try reducing the brown sugar or corn syrup next time. The crust though? Nice.

    1. User avatar wellRespected says:

      4 stars
Totally get you—1 1/2 cups corn syrup is a lot. I’ve had it turn out more like “dessert candy” than pie before too. Cutting back the corn syrup or brown sugar (or even doing a partial swap with maple syrup) should help a bunch. Glad the crust still came through though!

  18. User avatar Jitan Sa'mi says:

    4 stars
Followed the recipe pretty closely, but mine took closer to 40 minutes for the center to set. Still tasty though—very sweet and nutty. Next time I’ll check earlier and rotate the pan.

  19. 2 stars
I followed the recipe but they kinda fell apart. Maybe I didn’t let them cool long enough? 🤷‍♀️

  20. User avatar emerson.blanda32 says:

    3 stars
Why use corn syrup? Can I just use sugar instead? Seems weird.

    1. 2 stars
But like, sugar is sugar? Why not just use normal suiker? Sounds confusing to me.

    2. User avatar ArabianNights says:

      5 stars
Corn syrup helps give that gooey texture that sugar alone can’t achieve. It’s not weird, it’s just another way to make it delicious!

  21. User avatar yulanda.mraz says:

    5 stars
    Yum! 😋 Definitely a keeper!

  22. User avatar santina.deckow71 says:

    2 stars
I tried making these and they turned out super gooey. Followed the recipe exactly!

  23. User avatar latesha.leannon1997 says:

    3 stars
Only 350? That seems low. I thought pecan pie needs like 375 for sure, but it still worked. Kinda shocked.

    1. User avatar micheal.donnelly99 says:

      5 stars
350°F is totally reasonable for pecan pie bars—corn syrup + eggs set best around that temp. I’m glad yours turned out even if it surprised you!

    2. User avatar lue.hagenes93 says:

      4 stars
Wait, I always do 375 too 😅 but if it still set at 350 then your oven runs hot/cool or the bars were just in the “set” zone earlier. Did you pull them when they were lightly browned?

  24. User avatar Mireille O'Hara says:

    4 stars
The crust was nice, but I might have overbrowned the bottom because my oven runs hot. I’d reduce crust bake to 12 minutes if you’re impatient like me.

    1. 5 stars
Good call—12 minutes probably saves a hot-oven bottom from going too dark. I’ll try that next time. Thanks!

  25. User avatar mila.cummerata says:

    5 stars
These pecan pie bars are absolutely delicious! I made them for Thanksgiving and they were gone within minutes.

  26. User avatar Corrupted Shade says:

    3 stars
Not sure about the corn syrup amount—mine was very sticky and the bars were kinda wobbly. Taste was okay, just not the texture I expected. Maybe my oven runs hot?

    1. User avatar glady.jerde46 says:

      4 stars
Oh I’ve had that happen with corn syrup desserts 😅 If your oven runs hot or the bars aren’t cooled long enough, they can get super sticky and a bit wobbly. I’d try baking 5 min less next time and *cool completely* (even chilling) before cutting.

    2. User avatar milo.hickle2004 says:

      3 stars
I think 1 1/2 cups corn syrup is a lot. Mine came out like candy syrup and never really “set” unless I let it bake longer—like closer to 35-40 minutes. Maybe check temp with an oven thermometer?

  27. User avatar leena.daniel88 says:

    4 stars
I followed it pretty closely, but my filling took like 40 minutes to set. Still tasted amazing though. Next time I’ll watch the browning more than the timer.

  28. User avatar sylvester.cummerata48 says:

    3 stars
They taste good, but I found them a bit too sweet for my liking. I might reduce the sugars next time.

  29. User avatar liberal.hero says:

    5 stars
These pecan pie bars are dangerously good. The crust is perfectly buttery and the filling sets like a dream—no runny mess for me.

  30. User avatar alphonso.feeney1985 says:

    5 stars
These bars are AMAZING! I made them for a family gathering and they were gone in minutes. Everyone loved them!

  31. User avatar buck.hegmann says:

    4 stars
Pretty good! But I like my pecan pie classic. This is just a bit too chewy for me.

  32. 5 stars
These pecan pie bars are the ultimate dessert! So yummy and easy to make!

  33. User avatar abdul.cruickshank7 says:

    4 stars
I’m skeptical about the “set” part. Mine was still wiggly at 30 min. I left it longer and it firmed up, so… okay, you win this time.

    1. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

      5 stars
Totally fair—“set” can be super subjective with these. Mine usually jiggles a bit too, but once it’s lightly browned and still a little wobble in the center, it firms up a lot while cooling. I’d trust the color + cooling more than the 30-min mark.

  34. User avatar Jarvan IV says:

    5 stars
Wow. My family inhaled these. I sprinkled a little flaky salt on top before baking and it tasted like a fancy bakery bar.

  35. 5 stars
So easy to make! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out perfect. Thanks for sharing!

    1. User avatar levi.schuppe26 says:

      2 stars
Wait, are you serious? I followed a similar recipe and it was a disaster. Maybe I just did it wrong?

    2. User avatar gilberto.lynch96 says:

      5 stars
I’m glad you had success with the recipe! It really is a great dessert. Perfect for holidays!

  36. User avatar marva.gaylord says:

    4 stars
Why are they called bars? They’re like pie! 🤔 Either way, my kids loved them!

  37. User avatar arlie.bechtelar2022 says:

    5 stars
Soo good! I added chocolate chips to the filling, tasted like heaven!

    1. User avatar abe.donnelly says:

      5 stars
Chocolate chips?! That’s a game changer! I need to try that next time! 🍫

    2. User avatar grasshopper says:

      2 stars
I dunno about chocolate in pecan pie. Seems weird. Aren’t pecans good enough by themselves?

  38. User avatar Théoden says:

    2 stars
Don’t know what I did wrong, but mine came out super gooey. Maybe I baked it too long? Any advice?

  39. User avatar cornelius.armstrong says:

    2 stars
The filling never really ‘set’ for me. I baked the full time and it was still wobbly in the middle. Could my eggs be the issue? Flavor was okay but texture was off.

  40. User avatar candance.lehner says:

    3 stars
I thought 2 cups of pecans was too much at first, but it was fine. The only issue is the center was softer than the edges even after cooling. Still delicious, just not uniform.

    1. User avatar deborah.white23 says:

      4 stars
I’ve made these too—2 cups of pecans definitely doesn’t sound “too much” once they bake. For the softer center though, did you maybe underbake by a few minutes? Mine only sets fully if I wait for the middle to look a tiny bit firm after the full bake.

    2. User avatar rich.landlord says:

      4 stars
I think the recipe is a little off on time. 30 mins is rarely enough for a 9×13 with that much corn syrup + egg. Next time try 35–40 mins and maybe tent foil if it browns too fast.

  41. User avatar cyrstal.wisozk67 says:

    5 stars
These turned out ridiculously good—rich, chewy, and the pecans actually shine. I let them cool fully like the recipe says and cutting was way easier. 10/10 for the holidays.

  42. User avatar amos.hettinger1975 says:

    4 stars
The texture is spot on. However, 30 minutes felt short—mine needed closer to 38 to get that “set” thing going without wobble.

  43. User avatar sterling.kub95 says:

    2 stars
Way too sweet for me. Love pecan pie, but these bars taste like straight caramel. Next time I’ll cut the sugars or add a pinch of salt.

    1. User avatar roland.cremin54 says:

      3 stars
Mine weren’t too sweet, maybe your pecans were extra sugary? Also I think 30 min is too long—mine set weird after that, like chewy custard. Next time try lower temp? 🤷‍♂️

    2. User avatar imelda.boyer says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—this recipe is basically caramel-forward with all that corn syrup + brown sugar. I’ve had better luck cutting the light corn syrup by ~1/4 and adding a bigger pinch of salt (or even a tiny splash of bourbon).

  44. User avatar truman.kirlin1977 says:

    5 stars
I made these for Thanksgiving and everyone asked for the recipe. I used chopped pecans and added a tiny pinch of salt in the filling (idk if that’s “allowed” but it helped). 10/10 would make again.

    1. 4 stars
I’m not sure about adding salt (like, won’t it make it taste weird?), but your 10/10 makes me curious. Did you bake them exactly 15 + 30 minutes or adjust at all?

    2. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

      5 stars
That’s awesome—thank you for sharing! I love the idea of a tiny pinch of salt in the filling; it usually makes the sweetness taste more balanced. I’m definitely trying pecans this time.

  45. User avatar Spriggan Matron says:

    3 stars
Not sure about the “set” part—mine was jiggly at 30 minutes but I baked a little longer (like 38) and it finally firmed up. Tastes great, timing just needs watching.

  46. 4 stars
The crust was a little crumbly for me, but I think I pressed it too lightly. Flavor is on point though—super rich and buttery. Would make again for holidays.

  47. 4 stars
I’m not usually a “bars” person, but wow. The crust is buttery and not too sweet, and the filling set perfectly. I might add a pinch of salt next time for extra balance.

  48. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    4 stars
Followed the steps exactly, but I think I might’ve underbaked the crust a bit. Still tasty, though—kind of gooey in a good way.

    1. 4 stars
I’ve had that happen when my oven runs cool. Honestly I would bake the crust 20 min not 15, then it won’t be gooey underneath. Also make sure you really press the flour-butter mix tight—mine was loose once and it got weird lol.

    2. User avatar owen.cronin says:

      5 stars
Glad you followed it! If the crust feels underbaked, you can try 5 more minutes next time (just until it’s a deeper golden). The gooey center sounds like your filling turned out right though—pecan bars are meant to be a bit soft.

  49. User avatar Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings says:

    2 stars
I followed the recipe to a T, but mine turned out super runny. What did I do wrong? 🙁

  50. User avatar hong.reinger says:

    3 stars
I don’t think the corn syrup is necessary, it made it too sweet for my taste. I might try honey next time instead.

    1. User avatar roma.witting says:

      4 stars
I totally agree! It can be really sweet. Honey might be a great idea, I’ve used it before and it gives a nice flavor.

  51. 2 stars
Couldn’t get the crust evenly mixed. It was like sandy and would not cooperate, lol. Ended up tasting fine but presentation was a mess.

  52. User avatar raymonde.will says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but 1 1/2 cups corn syrup seems like a lot. It was very sticky and almost chewy. I might try a reduced-syrup version.

    1. 5 stars
I think you’re onto something. I reduced the syrup in mine (not by much) and it helped the texture a ton—less sticky. Try 1 cup first and see. Also make sure pecans are well chopped, not huge chunks.

    2. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

      4 stars
Yeah, 1 1/2 cups corn syrup does sound like a lot, but pecan pie bars kind of *need* that for the set. If yours was chewy, I’d look at your bake time—maybe pull them a few minutes earlier so they don’t overcook.

  53. 3 stars
I messed up and didn’t grease the pan enough. It stuck a bit, but I still ate it anyway. Next time I’ll grease like my life depends on it.

  54. User avatar allen.cassin says:

    4 stars
The flavor is super rich, but I found it a bit overly sweet for my taste. Maybe reduce the brown sugar slightly next time? Still yummy.

    1. User avatar elton.homenick1973 says:

      4 stars
Totally agree—mine can turn out really sweet too. Next time I’m going to cut the brown sugar by like 1/4 cup and see how it balances with the corn syrup.

  55. 5 stars
These were dangerously good. The crust came out perfectly crisp and the filling set nicely—exactly like pecan pie but in bar form. I used dark brown sugar once and it was even richer.

  56. User avatar ezequiel.blanda says:

    4 stars
The 9×13 instructions were spot on. I cooled them completely like it says and cutting was clean. If you don’t wait, it’ll be a gooey situation.

  57. User avatar danette.bahringer says:

    2 stars
I’m skeptical about using both granulated and brown sugar with that much syrup—seems like it might be overly sticky. Did it ever slice cleanly? Mine kinda melted into the pan.

  58. 4 stars
Looks good but my oven runs hot—15 min for crust got too brown fast. Still tasty. Next time I’ll lower temp or pull earlier.

  59. User avatar Monte Beatty I says:

    2 stars
Uhh I think I accidentally used salted butter and the sugar overwhelmed everything. Also I forgot to sift the flour (oops). Still not bad, but wouldn’t call it “perfect.”

    1. 4 stars
Oh no 😅 salted butter + not sifting flour definitely could throw off the sweetness and texture, but honestly it still sounds like you stayed on track. Next time just use unsalted and sift—these bars are *very* forgiving otherwise.

  60. 4 stars
I followed it but mine took more like 38 minutes to set. Still came out delicious and not too overly sweet. Next time I’ll probably tent with foil to prevent over-browning.

  61. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    5 stars
I followed the recipe exactly and the texture was spot on. Sweet, gooey, and the pecans actually taste like something. 10/10 with coffee.

    1. User avatar lilliana.witting47 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I love when the pecans actually taste like pecans and not just crunchy sugar. Glad you got the gooey texture—this is the kind of bar I make on repeat with coffee.

    2. 3 stars
Maybe I did something wrong but mine was kinda too sweet and the center didn’t set right after 30 min. Did you cool completely before cutting? Also I used dark corn syrup once… won’t do that again lol.

  62. 2 stars
I don’t know… way too sticky-sweet for my taste. The pecans are good, but the corn syrup makes it feel like candy. If you love classic pecan pie, you’ll like it. If not, skip.

  63. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

    3 stars
I didn’t have light corn syrup so I used dark. It turned out darker and a little more bitter, but my family still went back for seconds.

  64. User avatar lindsay.auer says:

    5 stars
These r great! I used pecans from my backyard, they were fresh and tasty!

    1. 2 stars
I don’t know if using fresh pecans really makes that much difference. Aren’t they all just nuts at the end of the day?

    2. User avatar angelika.schaefer33 says:

      5 stars
Fresh pecans sound delicious! I usually just buy them from the store. I might need to try this recipe with backyard nuts too!

  65. 3 stars
Not bad, but I found the crust a bit too crumbly and the sweetness felt high. Could just be my corn syrup brand? Still ate them all though 😅

    1. 5 stars
Totally possible it’s your corn syrup brand. I’ve noticed some are thicker/sweeter than others, and it can make the filling feel like it’s over the top. For the crumbly crust, did you bake the crust closer to “lightly golden”? I also try pressing a bit firmly and chilling the crust for 10 minutes before the pre-bake—helps it stay together.

  66. User avatar Dwarven Shpere says:

    2 stars
Five eggs? and 1.5 cups corn syrup?? That seems like too much liquid. I think it’ll be soupy in the middle, but I guess I’ll try once and see. 😅

  67. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    4 stars
Delicious! They disappeared at my family gathering. Will definitely make again!

  68. User avatar vernon.labadie says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid, but mine got a little too browned on top after 30 minutes. Next time I’ll check at 25 and maybe tent with foil. Still tasted great though!

    1. User avatar larissa.weber says:

      5 stars
Good tip! I always start checking around 25 too—my oven runs hot. Foil tenting for the last bit is a lifesaver.

    2. User avatar marybeth.koepp says:

      3 stars
Maybe you overbaked the pecans part? Mine browned quick at 30 as well. Also I think 1 1/2 cups corn syrup is a lot… but they still taste good lol.

  69. User avatar mohammed.abbott90 says:

    3 stars
Mine stuck to the pan even though I greased it. Maybe I needed parchment. Taste was good, but presentation was not. I’d definitely line the dish next time.

  70. User avatar marion.hoppe53 says:

    4 stars
Followed it pretty much exactly and they baked nicely. Mine were slightly darker on top, but the flavor was still spot-on. Next time I’ll check at 25 minutes.

Mine didn’t set as much as I hoped. I followed everything but my eggs maybe were smaller? The flavor was there, just more gooey than bars. Any tips for doneness?

Sorry that happened! Since you did follow the recipe, I’d bet it’s cook time + how fast your oven runs. I’d bake them the full 30 minutes and then check—look for a “set” center (it should jiggle like gelatin, not slosh like goo). Also make sure you cool completely; they firm up a lot as they cool.

Maybe the corn syrup amount? Mine did NOT set if I didn’t bake longer. I’d do 35-40 min and turn the oven down a bit if it browns too fast. Also pecans can sink and make it weirdly gooey. Hope that helps!

My crust didn’t press evenly (floury hands lol). But the filling basically saved it. Still ate like half the pan by myself—no regrets.

Just made these and they came out perfect. The texture is great—crispy on top, tender in the middle. 10/10 would bake again!

1/2 cup sugar? Seems too low compared to the corn syrup. I’m skeptical. It’s probably just gooey pie filling in bar form. I’ll try once though.

I like pecan pie, but these bars felt kinda heavy. Also 2 cups pecans seems like a lot unless you really love crunch. If you’re into dense desserts, though, it works.

2 cups pecans + corn syrup and it still tastes bland… idk, maybe my oven runs cold. Also I used unsalted butter by mistake, will that mess it up a lot?

Oh no—unsalted butter usually isn’t a dealbreaker. It can make it taste a bit less rich, but the corn syrup + brown sugar should still bring sweetness. If it’s bland, I’d check the vanilla amount and whether the crust got enough browning (15 min can be short depending on your oven).

I followed it pretty closely, but my crust was a little crumbly even after pressing. Still delicious though. Next time I’ll press harder (and maybe chill the dough).

Mine came out a little too dark on top after 30 minutes—next time I’ll check at 25 and tent with foil. Still tasted great though.

Glad you still enjoyed them! I’ve had the same issue—mine darkens faster depending on the pan and my oven runs hot. Foil tenting is a great fix, and checking around 25 is smart.

3 eggs?? and all that syrup?? this seems like it won’t set lol. But I guess I’ll try…

I had the same thought—1 1/2 cups corn syrup sounds wild 😅 But it does set after the full 30 minutes. Let them cool completely too; that’s when they firm up.

3 eggs is plenty. I made these and mine set fine, just not if I cut them while warm. Also, don’t overbake the crust or it gets too hard.

I used dark corn syrup by accident (didn’t realize) and it got a stronger, almost molasses flavor. Still okay, but not the exact classic vibe I wanted.

These pecan pie bars are dangerously good. The crust is buttery and the filling sets up perfectly—no runny mess. I’m making them again for the holidays.

These turned out insanely good—rich, gooey, and the pecans taste super toasted. I was a little worried about the “set” part after 30 minutes, but it came together after cooling.

I love pecan pie, but these bars were… kinda messy to slice. Cooling helped, but I think mine needed longer. Anyone else?

These were dangerously good. The filling set perfectly after cooling, and the pecans actually tasted toasted instead of just “sweet.” I didn’t change a thing—great instructions.

Not bad, but the crust felt a little dry/crumbly. I pressed it down hard though—maybe I should’ve sifted the flour more or chilled the dough?

    1. User avatar brady.johnston12 says:

That makes sense—if you pressed super hard, it can end up a bit dry/crumbly. Next time try chilling the dough (or at least the crust mixture) before pressing, and definitely sift the flour like you said. Also, 15 minutes might be slightly long depending on your oven—watch for just a light golden, not darker.

I had the same vibe—mine was dry too. But I think it’s because I used salted butter and didn’t add enough corn syrup? Like maybe your filling recipe needs more syrup. Idk, but I’ll probably bake the crust like 10 mins not 15 and keep an eye on it.

My family called them “pecan crack” 😅 I used toasted pecans and it made a huge difference in flavor. Will make again for holidays.

Pecan crack is hilarious 😂 And toasted pecans actually sound like the move—extra flavor for sure. Glad it turned out for your holidays!

Way too sweet for my taste—like, I could barely finish a bar. Maybe cut the brown sugar or use less corn syrup?

    1. User avatar shavonne.schuster says:

I kinda like it sweet, but I thought corn syrup doesn’t add sweetness as much as sugar? Maybe you baked it a bit too long and it caramelized harder. Did you let it cool all the way before slicing?

    2. 5 stars
Totally agree—this is *very* sweet. I’d definitely try cutting the brown sugar and corn syrup like you said. Next time I’m going to start with 1/2 cup brown sugar and maybe reduce the corn syrup too.
