April 8, 2025

Honey Butter Glazed Baby Carrots in Puff Pastry is a delicious and elegant dish that combines the natural sweetness of carrots with a rich honey butter glaze, all wrapped in buttery, flaky puff pastry. This dish offers a beautiful balance of flavors and textures, making it a perfect appetizer, side dish, or even a light main course for your next dinner party or special occasion. Whether you’re looking to impress guests at a holiday meal or simply want to enjoy a flavorful, comforting dish, these honey butter glazed baby carrots in puff pastry are sure to delight.

The baby carrots are first glazed in a luscious mixture of honey and butter, which enhances their sweetness and brings out their natural flavor. The glaze coats each carrot perfectly, creating a beautiful golden sheen. The carrots are then wrapped in puff pastry, which, once baked, transforms into a light, flaky shell that complements the tender, sweet carrots inside. The pastry adds a rich texture, making each bite a delightful contrast between the crispy exterior and the soft, buttery carrots.

Once the carrots are tucked into the puff pastry and baked, the result is a golden-brown treat that looks as beautiful as it tastes. The glaze helps the puff pastry crisp up to perfection while keeping the carrots moist and tender. A sprinkle of fresh herbs, such as thyme or rosemary, can be added before baking for an extra layer of flavor that ties the dish together beautifully.

This perfect appetizer is versatile and can be served as part of a holiday feast, a brunch spread, or a special occasion dinner. They’re also an excellent side dish for roasted meats like chicken, pork, or lamb. The sweet and savory combination of honey butter carrots and flaky pastry is sure to become a new favorite at your table.

I dunno, I feel like this is a bit too sweet for my taste. Carrots are healthy, but wrapped in pastry? Not sure if that’s right…

  2. 5 stars
These are absolutely divine! The combination of honey and butter makes everything better. I added a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor, wow! Will definitely make again.

Quick and easy! But maybe let the puff pastry thaw longer ? Mine was a bit hard to work with at first. Tasted good tho!

Delicious! I improvised with some garlic powder and it was AMAZING.

  5. 5 stars
I made these for dinner and everyone was like “why are these so good??” The honey + pepper combo is honestly underrated.

I made these with regular carrots and they turned out fine, just cut them small! 🍽️

Simple and delicious! Made these for my kids and they loved them. Even asked for seconds! 👍

This recipe is wrong. Carrots make me cry! 😂 Just kidding, but really. Is it healthy?

    1. User avatar jerome.gulgowski says:

      2 stars
I dunno, honey and butter? Seems kinda unhealthy to me. Carrots don’t make up for all that fat. 😕

    2. User avatar amelia.herzog says:

      4 stars
I think it sounds pretty healthy! Carrots are good for you, right? And the honey adds a nice touch. 😊

  10. User avatar ginette.lind40 says:

These came out so cute and surprisingly flavorful. The honey-butter glaze really clings to the carrots, and the puff pastry was perfectly golden. I’ll definitely make again for holidays.

    1. User avatar ladonna.kuhlman says:

      4 stars
Not gonna lie, puff pastry + carrots feels a little weird to me, but I tried it anyway. I think I overcooked the carrots because mine were softer than I expected—still tasty though. Next time I’ll start checking at 8-10 min.

    2. User avatar Blitzcrank says:

      5 stars
Seriously cute! I love that the honey-butter actually clings to the carrots—mine usually slip right off. I made these for a small holiday thing and they were gone fast. Definitely adding to my repeat list.

  11. User avatar clifton.hudson93 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I thought 3 tbsp honey was kinda sweet. Next time I’ll do closer to 2 tbsp and maybe add a pinch more salt to balance.

  12. User avatar garfield.ankunding29 says:

    2 stars
Just made these and they burned! Followed the timing exactly but they looked charred. 🙁

  13. 3 stars
400°F seems a bit low? I would’ve done like 425 to get the pastry super crispy. Still, the glaze combo sounds legit.

  14. 3 stars
I don’t understand why this needs honey. Carrots are sweet enough on their own, right?

  15. 3 stars
Ok, but why did you take a picture, this is a recipe not a photoshoot??

    1. User avatar alfonzo.hackett89 says:

      5 stars
I think the picture helps us see how the final dish should look. Plus, it makes the recipe more inviting! 😊

    2. User avatar jaime.prosacco says:

A recipe needs photos, it shows what you’re trying to make! Or do you just want plain text? 🤷‍♂️

  16. User avatar Shaddam Corrino IV says:

    3 stars
Too sweet for my taste! I think next time I will cut back on the honey. But the carrots were cute!

    1. User avatar olivia.kilback14 says:

      4 stars
I totally get that! It can be pretty sweet. But I think it makes them yummier!

  17. User avatar roscoe.lakin says:

    2 stars
I don’t think these were that great. The pastry got soggy… maybe I did something wrong?

  18. 2 stars
I tried this but the puff pastry was so tricky! Mine didn’t look like the picture at all 😩.

I was skeptical about wrapping carrots in pastry, but omg it works. The sauce mostly stays on them and the pastry crisps up nicely.

I don’t know… puff pastry with carrots sounds weird to me. But I tried anyway and honestly it worked. Still not sure I’d call it comfort food though.

  22. 5 stars
Wow, these were a hit at my dinner party! Everyone loved the sweet and savory combo. Definitely making again!

  23. 3 stars
My family loved it but I feel like it’s not very healthy. Too much butter??

    1. 4 stars
I totally get where you’re coming from! Butter can be rich, but maybe it’s a good treat now and then? Just balance it with some veggies on the side!

These sound dangerously good—honey + buttery carrots wrapped in puff pastry is basically a cheat code. I’m totally making these for brunch.

    1. User avatar Majikthise says:

Honey + buttery carrots in puff pastry is honestly unfair (in the best way). Brunch is saved.

I don’t know about mixing honey with carrots and pastry. Seems kinda strange to me.

  40. User avatar ArabianNights says:

My puff pastry tore when I folded it… I think I thawed it too long so it got gummy. Still tasted good though, so not a total fail.

  47. User avatar belva.thompson says:

    4 stars

      5 stars
Great job! Puff pastry can be tricky, but it sounds like you’re on the right track! Keep practicing!

Why would you put butter on carrots? Sounds unhealthy. People these days.

  53. User avatar asha.crona10 says:

Can you make these with regular carrots? I didn’t find baby ones anywhere. 😕

    1. User avatar hubert.ernser says:

      5 stars
You can definitely use regular carrots! Just cut them into smaller pieces. They should still taste great! 😊

    2. 3 stars
But aren’t baby carrots just cut down regular carrots? I mean, why not just try? 🤔

  55. User avatar lou.medhurst says:

    3 stars
Not worth the effort. Felt like I was making a pastry from scratch.

    1. User avatar Android 20 says:

      4 stars
I think you’re being too hard on it. It’s a fun twist! I loved making them.

  56. 3 stars
Okay, I’m confused about the salt—it’s 1 tsp, but the honey is already sweet. I ended up using less salt and it turned out better. Also 10 minutes for the carrots felt short with my oven, so I cooked them like 12.

  57. User avatar reanna.ritchie15 says:

    2 stars
Great for parties, but what if I use cheese instead of honey? Can I?

  58. 3 stars
Wow, fancy. I’ll try but ima keep it simple, no frills.
