Ghost Marshmallow Brownies

October 23, 2024

Ghost Marshmallow Brownies are a hauntingly delicious treat that adds a spooky twist to classic brownies. Perfect for Halloween parties or themed gatherings, these decadent brownies are topped with fluffy, gooey marshmallows shaped like ghosts for a playful, creepy effect. The combination of fudgy, chocolatey brownies with the light, pillowy marshmallows creates a delightful contrast in texture and flavor, making them a fun and tasty dessert for all ages.

To make these brownies, start with a rich, moist brownie base that is dense and chocolatey. The brownie batter is simple to prepare and bakes into the perfect fudgy texture. Once the brownies are cool, large marshmallows are placed on top, then carefully shaped and decorated to resemble little ghostly figures. You can use an edible marker or melted chocolate to draw eyes and mouths, bringing the ghostly faces to life and giving your brownies that extra spooky touch.

The key to these brownies is their delightful combination of textures. The marshmallows provide a soft, sweet contrast to the dense, fudgy brownies beneath. When you bite into the brownie, the marshmallow ghosts slightly melt into the rich chocolate, adding an extra layer of sweetness and creating a deliciously gooey experience.

Not only are Ghost Marshmallow Brownies fun to look at, but they’re also incredibly easy to make. Whether you’re baking with kids, looking for a quick Halloween treat, or planning a party dessert, these brownies are a crowd-pleaser. You can even customize them by adding sprinkles, chocolate chips, or drizzles of caramel or ganache for an extra indulgent touch.

These spooky, sweet brownies are sure to make your Halloween celebrations even sweeter. Whether you’re serving them at a party, taking them to a potluck, or enjoying them with family, Ghost Marshmallow Brownies are a delightful, playful treat that everyone will love.

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about the marshmallows on top—thought they’d just melt into nothing. They didn’t! They set into this chewy layer. Also the prep is easy, no fancy steps.

My kids LOVED the ghost part. The icing gel lines actually stayed put, and the marshmallows toasted nicely as they cooled. I might add a little extra vanilla next time, because I like things bold.

Super easy and the ingredients are basic. I love recipes that don’t need weird stuff. Mine puffed a bit too much, but that’s probably user error, not the recipe 😅

I think 1 cup flour is too much? Mine turned out thick and firm, like a dense chocolate cake bar. Could be my cocoa was old, but I’d adjust next time.

Had a hard time getting the marshmallows to stick, but still tasted great! Next time, maybe I’ll use smaller ones.

Yummy! 😋 Can’t wait for Halloween to make again!

I only had mini marshmallows so I used those and it was a mess… kinda sweet brownie bits everywhere. Still tasty, just not the same vibe.

Aw man 😭 I bet the mini ones basically melted into the batter—still sounds yummy though. Next time maybe use regular large marshmallows or push minis on top right at the end so they keep their shape!

I followed the recipe but my brownies turned out really dry. Idk what went wrong. 😕

Dry brownies? Must’ve missed somethin’. I don’t understand how that happens. 🤔

    2. 4 stars
Oh no! Sometimes if you bake for too long or use too much flour it can make them dry. Did you check them earlier than the time listed?

Wow, my guests loved these! The chocolate flavor is intense, and the ghosts are cute!
