Bird’s Nest Treats are a delightful, no-bake snack that is both fun to make and delicious to eat, making them the perfect addition to your Easter celebrations. These sweet, crunchy nests resemble the cozy homes of birds and are filled with colorful candy eggs, making them a festive treat that both kids and adults will love. Whether you’re hosting an Easter party, participating in an Easter egg hunt, or simply looking for a fun snack, Bird’s Nest Treats are sure to be a hit.
The base of these treats is typically made with crispy chow mein noodles or cornflakes, which provide a light, crunchy texture. The noodles or flakes are coated with a mixture of melted chocolate or butterscotch chips and peanut butter, which helps to bind the ingredients together and add a rich, sweet flavor. Once the mixture has cooled slightly, it is shaped into little nest-like formations on a baking sheet or parchment paper.
To complete the nests, colorful candy eggs, such as jelly beans or chocolate eggs, are placed in the center of each nest, mimicking the appearance of real bird’s eggs. These treats can be made in various sizes, from mini nests to larger ones, depending on your preference. The fun part is getting creative with the decoration, adding sprinkles, shredded coconut (dyed green for a grass-like effect), or even a drizzle of extra melted chocolate.
Bird’s Nest Treats are not only a fun activity for children but also a simple, stress-free snack to prepare for any Easter gathering. They can be made in advance and stored at room temperature or in the fridge, where they will keep their shape and flavor. These no-bake treats are the perfect combination of crunchy, sweet, and colorful, making them a delightful addition to your Easter celebrations or springtime parties.

These Bird’s Nest Treats are so cute! Perfect for Easter! 5 stars!
This looks way too easy. Are you sure it tastes good? Can’t be that simple!
I love the idea but I accidentally used rice noodles instead. They still turned out delicious! 😂
Rice noodles?! That’s funny! 😂 Glad they turned out good anyway! Maybe I should try that too!
Made once and the chocolate seized a little when I microwaved—maybe my bowl was too hot? Still, the flavor was there. 2nd attempt better.
That happened to me too 😬 I was stirring in between but my bowl was still warm from washing. Next time I’ll let the bowl cool first. Still tasted good though—nests are fun.
Glad the 2nd try worked! Chocolate “seizing” in the microwave usually happens if it gets too hot or a tiny bit of moisture gets in—so your hot bowl theory makes sense. I’ve had better luck using slightly lower power + shorter bursts.
I thought this was a dinner recipe? Why you put chocolate in noodles? Seems odd to me.
I tried them and they were gone in minutes! Big hit at the family gathering! 🍫
I’m glad they were a hit! We loved them too. Super easy to make!
These are so cute! I made them for my kids and they loved it. Easy to make too!
You can use any chocolate, right? I used white chocolate and now its just sweet goo. Not the best.
I followed it exactly but my chocolate seized a bit in the microwave (maybe my bowl was too hot?). Still tasted good, just a little lumpy.
Mine did that too once 😅 I think I stirred too late. If you keep it just melted (not scorching) it should stay smooth. Also make sure the chocolate chips are dry, no water or steam.
Oh no—microwave chocolate can be super sensitive. A too-hot bowl or overheating in an extra-long interval can cause it to seize and go lumpy. Glad it still tasted good though! Next time, try shorter bursts and make sure the bowl isn’t preheated.
Just the right amount of crunchy and sweet! My family couldn’t get enough. Will make again! 😊
Love love loveee! Best treat ever. I ate them all by myself! 😍
Seems like something from a kids party or somethin’, idk if adults would like it much.
I dunno, this looks kinda weird. Not sure if I’ll try it.
I thought the same thing at first, but they taste amazing! You should give them a try. They’re super fun and kids love them!
Weird? I just don’t get it. How can noodles and chocolate go together? Seems gross to me.
I followed the recipe but it didn’t hold its shape. What did I do wrong?!
Yum!! Got a recipe similar to this from my grandma but she used marshmallows instead. Still great!
I’m skeptical about the whole ‘bird nest’ thing… but I made them anyway and now I’m converted. They’re cute and surprisingly not too sweet.
Simple and sweet! Just my style. Kids loved making them too! 10/10 would recommend.
Looks easy, but my kids didn’t like the noodles. Maybe I did it wrong? 🤔
I’m glad you and the kids enjoyed it! Such a fun recipe for all ages!
These are dangerously snackable 😅 The peanut butter/chocolate combo coats the noodles perfectly and the egg centers look so cute.
The microwave steps worked for me, but I had to stir a lot longer than the intervals suggested. Worth it though—texture is crunchy in a good way.
I don’t think this should be called a recipe. It’s just melting stuff together.
I followed the recipe to the letter, but mine didn’t look like those! Mine fell apart… what’s wrong?
Microwaving in 30-second intervals is key, because I rushed once and burnt the chocolate. Learn from me, friends 😅
Yes!! 30-second intervals are so important. I did the same thing and my chocolate went from gooey to scorched-blob 😅
These are so cute! I made them for Easter and everyone loved them! Definitely a 5-star treat!
Delicious, but my dog ate half of it before I could even try! 😩
I tried this with my kids and we had a blast! They tasted awesome!
The peanut butter amount is perfect. It gives that glossy coating and makes the noodles not just taste like cereal.
Soooo good! <3
Tasted amazing but way too messy to make. My kitchen looks like a chocolate factory exploded!
Not gonna lie, mine turned out a bit messy. Some nests spread too wide and the eggs didn’t sit as neatly. Still tasty, just less “nest” looking.
This is a great idea! I used pretzels instead of noodles because I didn’t have chow mein. Still yum! 🙌
Couldn’t find “chow mein noodles Crunchy variety,” so I used crispy chow mein from another brand—turns out they’re basically the same. Worked fine.
I’m skeptical about chow mein noodles in dessert, but this is actually good. My grandkids asked for more, so… yeah I’d make it again.
Okay but the chow mein noodles as dessert sounded WRONG 😂—yet your comment made me curious. Your grandkids approved, so I’m in!
I’m still side-eyeing this… chow mein is salty/crunchy, and chocolate + peanut butter is sweet, so how do the flavors not clash? Did you rinse the noodles or just use them straight?
Why do we need parchment paper? Just use a plate. What’s up with that?
I made them for a party and they disappeared fast. I used dark chocolate and it still tasted great—next time I’ll try a little more peanut butter for extra richness.
I dunno, they look kinda weird… but I guess they taste fine? My kids ate them.
These are dangerously easy—my kids loved the crunchy noodles + chocolate combo. I used dark chocolate and it still worked great.
The ingredients are kinda random, like who thought peanut butter + chocolate + noodles? But it’s giving Easter vibes, so I can’t complain.
Very easy to make but I would swap peanut butter for almond butter next time.
Y’all they turned out like chocolate covered bird poop!!! But still yummy 😂
Haha, they may look a bit funny but if they taste good, who cares! Your presentation is all on you! 😂
Chocolate covered bird poop? Seriously? Maybe you should’ve used more chocolate! lol
Easy peasy. Would eat these year-round, not just holidays. Also, parchment paper is a must or they stick hard.
Yes! The parchment tip is real—mine totally glued last time until I used it. Super easy and perfect for non-holiday snack cravings.
I tried without the parchment once and… never again 😅 But quick question: do they stay crispy or get chewy after a day? Mine went a bit soft.
4 eggs per nest is a lot lol—mine overflowed and didn’t sit nicely. Next time I’ll use fewer and press more gently.
So nostalgic. My aunt used to make something like this for Easter, and this recipe nailed it. The nests actually look like real bird nests too.
Aww I love this! I made these last Easter and the nostalgia hit HARD. Mine didn’t look quite as “real” but they were still gone in minutes 😄
I tried this and my nests turned into one giant chocolate noodle pile lol. I think my chow mein was too soft? Still taste good though.
