Baked feta bites are a delicious, easy-to-make appetizer that’s perfect for any occasion. With a crispy golden exterior and a creamy, tangy feta filling, these little bites are full of flavor and texture. Whether you’re hosting a party, serving them as a snack, or bringing something special to a potluck, baked feta bites are sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
To make these bites, start by crumbling feta cheese into a bowl and mixing it with a variety of flavorful ingredients. Herbs like oregano, thyme, or rosemary work wonderfully, while a bit of garlic and lemon zest adds depth and brightness. For added richness, you can mix in a little cream cheese or ricotta. This creamy mixture is then spooned into puff pastry squares or phyllo dough, which will bake up beautifully golden and flaky around the feta filling.
To assemble the bites, cut the puff pastry into small squares and place a generous spoonful of the feta mixture in the center of each. Fold the pastry around the filling to create little parcels, sealing the edges tightly to prevent the cheese from spilling out. Brush each bite with a bit of olive oil or butter before baking to give them that perfect golden color.
Bake the feta bites in a preheated oven until the pastry is golden brown and crispy. As they bake, the cheese filling becomes soft and melty, creating a creamy, tangy center that perfectly complements the crisp pastry shell. The result is a delicious combination of textures and flavors that are simply irresistible.
These baked feta bites are versatile, so feel free to get creative with the filling. You can add olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or spinach for extra flavor and color. Serve them warm with a side of marinara sauce or a drizzle of honey for a sweet and savory contrast.
Perfect for casual gatherings or more formal events, baked feta bites are an easy, impressive appetizer that everyone will enjoy. Their crispy, cheesy goodness will make them a favorite in your appetizer repertoire.

These are absolutely delicious! The phyllo gets so crispy and the feta is just perfect. My family loved them!
Meh… too much butter and too much work for the size. I’d rather just eat feta straight or do something quicker. But I get why people like it.
These came out super crispy and the feta was perfectly salty. The honey/thyme drizzle is a nice touch—would make again for sure.
Super easy recipe! I added some spinach in with the feta and it turned out great! Will make again for sure.
I don’t know, I’ve tried baked feta and it was just too salty for me. Maybe I did something wrong?
That’s awesome! Spinach sounds like a great addition. I’m going to try that next time!
Why use phyllo? I did it with just regular bread and it was still good! Just my opinion. 🤷♂️
Awesome! Simple and quick. I made it with my kids, they loved helping out! 🥳
Pretty easy recipe. Mine browned faster at around 18 minutes, so keep an eye on them. Also, phyllo is soooo delicate—worth taking your time.
Delicious! I love feta and this is such an easy recipe. Will make it again for sure!
I thought they were going to be too rich with feta, but the honey balanced it out nicely. Still, they’re not something I’d make again.
These are AMAZING! I served them at a party and everyone was raving about them. Definitely a 5-star dish!
So glad to hear they were a hit at your party! These bites are definitely a crowd-pleaser.
I dunno, my friends said it was too cheesy. 🤷♂️ Maybe I did somethin’ wrong.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about baking phyllo parcels—felt like they’d get soggy. Nope. They stayed crunchy for quite a while.
Eeeeek! These are so crispy and fluffy! My kids loved them too, I think I’ll add some garlic next time!
Yum! Adding garlic sounds amazing! Thanks for the tip! These little bites are the best!
These came out so crispy and flaky! The feta basically melts into little pockets—perfect snack. I skipped the honey but added extra thyme and it was still amazing.
I don’t know what went wrong but mine turned out soggy. 🙁 Maybe I didn’t bake long enough?
Tried it exactly as written and they were good, but I wish I’d used a bit more thyme. Also, my honey soaked in faster than expected so next time I’ll drizzle right before serving.
That’s awesome—glad they came out good! And yeah, thyme is one of those things where a little extra really helps. I like drizzling honey right before serving too so it stays crisp.
Baked feta bites? i prefer fried, but these were not bad!
made these for my mom’s birthday and she ate them all up! 👩🍳 Highly recommend!
Crispy and sweet – who knew feta could be dessert? Honey was a great touch! You nailed it!
Phyllo is always tricky for me—one sheet tore and I felt like I was wasting it. Still, the flavor was great, so I’ll try again with more careful handling.
See, I don’t think you need to be that careful. If one sheet tears, just patch it—folding makes it kind of forgiving. Also 180°C feels too low to crisp for me… I usually go more like 200°C until it’s properly browned. Your feta bites would still taste good though.
Ugh, phyllo is definitely the kind of dough that punishes you for blinking 😅 But your instincts are right—just be gentler and keep the sheets covered while you work. I always use a slightly damp towel over the stack so it doesn’t dry out and tear.
Super easy!!! I made these for my kids and they gobbled ’em up! Highly recommend.
Kinda bland if you ask me… maybe more seasonings would help? Not how I expected them to taste.
Yum! The honey drizzle was a nice touch. Will make again for sure.
These were insanely crispy! The feta stayed nice and salty, and the honey + thyme combo is honestly genius. I served them at a get-together and they vanished fast.
180°C is kinda low? I did 200°C and they browned faster, but still good. Maybe depends on your oven—watch closely near the 20-minute mark.
180°C isn’t crazy low, but yeah—my oven runs hot/cold depending on the day. I agree with watching around 20 minutes. Mine browned faster too at 200°C.
Not sure about the sweetness—mine tasted a bit like dessert. Maybe skip the honey unless you really want that sweet-salty thing.
Good point! I’m with you—mine got pretty dessert-y too. I’d definitely skip the honey unless you want that sweet-salty contrast.
I’m confused. You bake feta? Like putting cheese in oven? What if it melts? 🤔
Baked feta bites? Is that even a thing? Sounds weird.
Baked feta bites are amazing! You gotta try them, they’re super delicious and crunchy. You might change your mind once you taste them!
I dunno, it sounds kinda off to me. Cheese and honey? That’s just weird… Who puts honey on cheese anyway? Are we sure this is a good idea?
I think the honey is optional but I’m glad I tried it. Sweet-salty combo worked way better than I expected. Next time I’ll drain the feta a tiny bit first so it doesn’t get too wet.
Honey optional? maybe, but I think it changes the whole vibe. I didn’t drain mine and mine came out kinda soggy in the middle, so your idea should help a lot. Next time I’ll blot it with paper towel—also I used dried thyme and it was fine.
Totally agree—honey really elevates the sweet-salty thing. I tried it once without and it was still good, but with the drizzle it’s next level. Draining the feta a bit sounds like a great tweak too!
I tried this recipe but it was super salty 😩. Maybe my feta was too strong? I’m not sure if I liked it.
The phyllo kept drying out on me and my squares were kind of messy. They still tasted good though, just not as pretty. Maybe I should thaw it more carefully?
I followed it pretty closely, but I think my feta was too salty—next time I’d use a milder one. Otherwise nice and crunchy on the outside.
Super easy and looks impressive. My only tweak: I sprinkled a pinch of garlic powder with the thyme. Still baked up golden in the 20–25 min range.
I hate cooking but this was easy and turned out great. Thanks!
I don’t get the hype. They were kinda bland to me. Maybe I did something wrong?
These were dangerously good. Crispy outside, melty inside—exactly what I wanted. I added extra thyme and used a little more honey drizzle and it tasted like a fancy appetizer.
Not gonna lie, I used dried thyme instead of fresh and it was still pretty good. But it felt a bit too salty for me—maybe next time less feta?
Thanks for the tip! Dried thyme should work—fresh just gives more punch. And yeah, feta can be super salty depending on the brand, so next time you could use a little less or lightly taste/salt-adjust the cheese. Glad they still came out good though!
This recipe saves my life! I was looking for a fancy starter and this is so easy! Looks good too!
Not sure about the honey part… I tasted it and thought it was weird with cheese. But my partner loved it, so I guess it’s a personal thing.
Meh, it was ok. Nothing to write home about. Just feta wrapped in dough. Maybe add some spices?
Uhhh, phyllo dough is so hard to work with! I ended up with a mess. Taste was good tho.
Yeah, phyllo dough can be a real pain! But the taste makes it worth it! Maybe next time try working faster? That’s what I do!
Can I use goat cheese instead?? I don’t like feta but this looks good.
You can definitely use goat cheese! It will give a different flavor, but it should still be delicious. Just make sure it’s crumbled like the feta would be.
Not sure about the baking time—mine were browned way before 20 minutes and the cheese started leaking out. I’d lower the temp slightly or cut the time depending on your oven.
Good call—mine also browned fast at 180°C. I think ovens vary a lot with phyllo, so I’d start checking around 15 minutes and pull them when they’re just golden. Lowering the temp slightly could help keep the cheese from leaking.
I baked mine like the recipe said and they were leaking too 😅 maybe because my feta was super soft? Next time I’ll bake shorter. 20-25 seems long for my oven.
Honey on feta is a genius combo. I used thyme from my garden and it smelled amazing while baking.
Yes!! Honey + salty feta is seriously genius. The thyme from your garden makes it sound even better—wish I could smell it through the screen 😄
I’ve done feta stuff with honey before, but I’m still not sure about putting it on top after baking—doesn’t it get kinda sticky or burn? Might try less honey though.
These Baked Feta Bites are absolutely divine! I can’t believe how easy they were to make. My friends loved them!
Are you serious with this honey drizzle? Who would put honey on cheese?! No thanks. 😒
Way too much butter. Made me feel sick after eating. Never again.
Super easy and looks fancy. I made them for guests and everyone kept grabbing more. Also, 180°C is the sweet spot—don’t crank the oven higher.
Honey on feta?? I was skeptical but wow. The sweetness cuts the salt perfectly. Next time I’ll double the thyme.
lol i forgot to thaw the phyllo all the way and it was kinda crackly… but i fixed it and it worked. Would make again
These are fantastic! Perfect for a party. Everyone loved them. 😍
These were amazing! I added some garlic to the feta and it was a hit at my party! So good!
I don’t know, seems a bit too fancy for me. I like things simple.
Sounds delicious! Garlic in feta? Genius idea! I’m gonna try that next time.
I loved the texture contrast: flaky outside, soft inside. 20 minutes was perfect in my oven.
Yes!! The flaky vs soft combo is exactly what I was hoping for. Mine also browned super fast—20 min nailed it. I drizzled honey and it was dangerously good 😄
Mine looked golden, but they weren’t as flaky as I hoped. Maybe I stacked the phyllo sheets wrong or didn’t butter enough between layers.
I followed everything but they came out a bit salty for my taste (maybe because my feta was extra salty). Still tasty though, just would reduce feta or add less salt next time.
I made these for a party and they disappeared instantly 😅. The thyme makes it smell like fancy appetizers from a restaurant.
These came out super crispy and the feta flavor is so good. I added a tiny pinch of chili flakes too—highly recommend.
Yes!! I love when they get that shattering crisp. I didn’t think to add chili flakes but that sounds perfect with the feta—def trying next batch.
These came out super crispy and the feta stayed nice and creamy. The honey drizzle is honestly the perfect sweet-salty touch.
Good recipe, but I think 180°C might be a little low—mine took closer to 28 minutes to get golden. Still totally worth it though.
Baked what? Is this like pizza? I don’t get it. Phyllo doesn’t sound like food.🧐
meh, the honey made it too sweet for me and I’m usually not picky. Next time I’ll skip it or use less.
