Mummy Hot Dogs are a fun and spooky treat made by wrapping hot dogs in crescent roll dough to resemble classic mummies. Perfect for Halloween festivities or a themed party.
Mummy Hot Dogs are a playful, spooky, and irresistibly delicious treat that’s perfect for Halloween parties, family gatherings, or festive snacks. Wrapped in strips of dough to resemble little mummies, these savory bites are as fun to look at as they are to eat. They capture the Halloween spirit without being overly complicated, making them a favorite for both kids and adults.
The charm of mummy hot dogs comes from their clever yet simple design. Each hot dog is wrapped with thin strips of dough, usually crescent roll dough, puff pastry, or pizza dough, to mimic the look of ancient mummy bandages. Once baked, the dough turns golden and flaky while the hot dogs stay juicy inside, creating a perfect combination of textures.
Adding little eyes is what truly brings the mummies to life. Small dots of mustard, ketchup, or edible candy eyes placed between the dough strips give each mummy a quirky personality. Some look surprised, others silly or spooky, which adds an extra layer of fun, especially for kids who love picking their favorite faces.
These treats are not only adorable but also practical for parties. They’re easy to make, easy to serve, and require no utensils, perfect finger food for mingling guests. They also pair well with a variety of dips like ketchup, mustard, cheese sauce, or spicy mayo, adding extra flavor to each bite.
Mummy Hot Dogs are a fantastic kitchen activity for families. Kids can help with wrapping the dough and placing the eyes, turning prep time into a fun Halloween tradition. Whether served as appetizers, snacks, or part of a spooky dinner, these little mummies are guaranteed to steal the spotlight at any Halloween gathering.

My dough burnt but the kids still ate them, haha. Good recipe.
These were kinda lame honestly. Didn’t taste special at all. Where’s the flavor?
Honestly, I prefer pizza rolls over these, just sayin’.

It’s cute for Halloween! Not everything has to be gourmet, you know?
But it’s soooo easy and fun! Kids love it!
Hot dogs? Seriously? How do you even get this idea? Pass.
Perfect for Halloween! I added ketchup for extra ‘blood’ lol!
Super cute idea for Halloween! My kids loved helping wrap the mummies. Will make again!
This seems easy but, like, wouldn’t the dough be super hard to wrap? Just saying.
What a fun activity! I love that your kids helped. It’s great bonding time. 🌟
Really easy to make! I put mustard on the side and it was delicious! 🌭

I dunno, it seems kinda silly to wrap hot dogs. Just grill them, right? 🤔
Didn’t turn out how I thought. The dough burnt before the hot dogs were cooked. 😩
Mummy Hot Dogs? My mom used to make this but with franks n beans instead. LOL
I don’t get why these are called ‘mummy’ hot dogs. They’re just wrapped sausages…
It’s a Halloween thing! They look like mummies, trust me, it’s a fun twist for the kids!
