Sleepy Girl Mocktail

June 9, 2025

After a long, stressful day, sometimes all you need is a comforting bedtime ritual, and that’s where the Sleepy Girl Mocktail comes in. This soothing, non-alcoholic beverage has become a popular nighttime treat, especially for those seeking natural ways to unwind before bed.

Unlike other trendy drinks that rely on supplements or artificial sweeteners, this version of the Sleepy Girl Mocktail is rooted in traditional calming ingredients: chamomile tea, warm spices, and a touch of natural sweetness. It’s caffeine-free, gentle on the stomach, and just cozy enough to signal to your body that it’s time to relax.

To make it, start by steeping a bag of chamomile tea in hot water for 5–7 minutes. Chamomile is known for its mild sedative effects and is often used to reduce anxiety and promote restful sleep. Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg, both warm spices that offer subtle flavor and a calming aroma.

For a little sweetness, stir in a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup. You can also add a splash of vanilla extract or a few drops of lemon juice for extra flavor. If you prefer something fizzy, top it off with a bit of sparkling water once it cools.

Serve the mocktail warm or chilled over ice, depending on your mood. Either way, it’s a gentle and relaxing way to wind down.

This drink isn’t just about flavor, it’s about creating a ritual. Turning off your screens, dimming the lights, and sipping this mocktail slowly can help you transition from a busy day into a peaceful night. It’s also alcohol-free, making it a great alternative to wine or cocktails before bed.

Whether you’re dealing with occasional sleeplessness or simply want a cozy drink to end your day, the Sleepy Girl Mocktail offers comfort, calm, and a delicious way to drift off naturally.

Is it really that good? I mean it’s just tea with honey right?

  2. 3 stars
Not bad but I prefer my chamomile plain. More like a warm hug. This felt extra.

Really good! I added some ginger too. Boosts the flavor. Yum!

Isn’t it like, already chamomile supposed to be relaxing? I don’t think ginger fits here.

    2. 4 stars
Ginger? That sounds interesting! I might try that next time. Thanks for the tip!

Gorgeous idea! I added a splash of vodka for fun. Not really a mocktail anymore! 😂

    1. 5 stars
Haha, vodka huh? That’s definitely not a mocktail anymore! 😂 But I love your creativity! Might have to try that.

    2. User avatar gaylord.buckridge86 says:

      2 stars
Not sure if adding vodka makes it better or worse. I think it should stay non-alcoholic. 😕

I don’t know, chamomile makes me sleepy but this mocktail seems a bit dumb. Whatever!

Not sure about the cinnamon in my tea, it tasted weird… Should’ve just used sugar!

  14. 3 stars
The honey makes it too sweet for me. Anyone else feel that way?

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, I get what you mean. I tried it with less honey and it was much better! Maybe give that a go?

I don’t drink tea, but my grandma swears by chamomile! Love that it’s simple.

    1. 5 stars
I think it sounds nice! Chamomile really does help with sleep. I’m gonna try it, thanks for sharing!

  19. 2 stars
I dunno… cinnamon in tea? Seems weird to me.

  20. 2 stars
Why do I need vanilla in a tea? Seems a bit odd. Just stick to the basics!

  21. User avatar gavin.zemlak5 says:

    3 stars
Can you use a different tea bag? Like lavender or something?

  22. User avatar leann.jast69 says:

    4 stars
Didn’t have honey so tried sugar instead. Still good, I guess.

  23. User avatar myrtle.kuhn says:

This is such a cozy bedtime drink. The chamomile + cinnamon combo feels really soothing, and the vanilla makes it taste way more “intentional” than a regular tea.

  24. User avatar Sharika Schowalter says:

    3 stars
Too sweet! I’ll cut the honey next time. ☕️

    1. User avatar leonora.morar13 says:

      4 stars
I actually thought it was perfect! Honey really brings out the flavors. 🤷‍♂️

Love chamomile but forgot I was out… Used peppermint instead and it was fab!

  26. User avatar georgeanna.kozey says:

    4 stars
I wasn’t sure about the cinnamon, but it actually works well! Who woulda thought?

  27. User avatar Falmer Gloomlurker says:

    3 stars
I tried this but the honey made it too sweet for my taste. Might try it again without honey.

    1. 2 stars
Honey is what makes it sweet tho. You could just use less. ;P

    2. User avatar joanne.waelchi97 says:

      4 stars
I get that! Maybe try a pinch of maple syrup instead? It’s less sweet but still tasty.

  28. User avatar nicholas.doyle says:

    3 stars
5 minutes steeping? I did 10 because I forgot (oops). It was still fine though—just a bit stronger and slightly more bitter than I expected. Still relaxing.

    1. User avatar Bilbo Baggins says:

      5 stars
Haha been there—10 minutes would totally amp it up. I’m glad it still tasted good though. The slight bitterness might just be the chamomile going “oops, extra flavor!” 😅

    2. 4 stars
5 minutes is kinda short though… I always do like 10-15 and it still works. But I don’t get how it can be “sleepy” if it’s bitter—maybe the honey covers it? Either way, sounds calming.

  29. User avatar burl.bins says:

    4 stars
Sleepy drink. Good for sleep. Good.

  34. 5 stars
This is such a cozy drink! Perfect before bedtime.

Completely fell in love with this mocktail! So easy to make, I might just make it every night!

  36. User avatar jose.mayert says:

    4 stars
Chamomile tea always helps me wind down, so this is a win. Honey + cinnamon is such a good combo. I’d give it a 5 if I had measured more carefully.

  37. User avatar neida.barrows10 says:

    3 stars
I tried this with peppermint tea instead. Not the same, but still nice. 😌

  38. User avatar herman.spinka81 says:

    1 star
Cinnamon? Really? That’s not in typical chamomile tea. Not sure it works…

    1. User avatar Willie Maykit says:

      2 stars
Cinnamon in tea? Sounds weird to me! Chamomile is perfect alone. Not gonna try it.

    2. 4 stars
I get what you’re saying, but cinnamon adds a nice twist! You should give it a try before dismissing it. 😊

  39. User avatar Fanny Reichert says:

    5 stars
My mom used to make chamomile tea for me when I were a kid! Takes me back!

  40. User avatar raguel.hegmann49 says:

    5 stars
Really liked it—tastes like a warm bedtime hug. I steeped mine the full 5 minutes and didn’t rush, and I think that helped.

  41. User avatar Dr. Mundo says:

    3 stars
Why so complicated? Just chamomile and honey is fine.

  42. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why people rave about this. It’s just tea! Tried it and eh, not for me.

  43. User avatar odis.jacobs says:

    3 stars
What’s the deal with vanilla in tea? Seems weird, but I gave it a shot. It’s not bad, I guess.

  44. User avatar mackenzie.grady says:

    5 stars
This is a total game changer! Best drink ever! ❤️

    1. 5 stars
I’m so glad to hear that! It’s really soothing, isn’t it? Perfect for winding down at night! 🌙

  45. User avatar Dr. Wilmer DuBuque says:

    5 stars
This is so simple but feels fancy. I used a little less honey and it still tasted cozy. The cinnamon + vanilla combo is legit for a night drink.

  46. User avatar Mari Osinski II says:

    5 stars
Chamomile always works for me, so I’m biased. I used 1/2 tsp vanilla by accident and it still tasted good. Next time I’ll measure better.

  47. User avatar fermina.harris77 says:

    2 stars
Why not just call it chamomile tea with honey? The instructions are fine, I just don’t get the marketing name.

  48. User avatar hortense.rohan says:

    3 stars
Eh, could’ve been better… Maybe I steeped it too long?

    1. User avatar marcelo.shields42 says:

      5 stars
Nah, I think it was good! Try adding more honey if you feel it’s not sweet enough. Everyone’s taste is different!

    2. User avatar halflife4 says:

      4 stars
I think steeping a bit longer can sometimes make it taste stronger, but maybe try it for a shorter time next time! It’s all about finding the right balance.

  49. 5 stars
This is such a cozy little routine. The cinnamon + chamomile combo feels like a warm blanket. I used a touch more honey and it was perfect.

  50. User avatar ryan.bartell1971 says:

    3 stars
Mine turned kinda bitter? Maybe I over-steeped or my tea bag was old. Still drinkable, just not the comfy vibe I expected.

    1. User avatar shannon.fahey says:

      4 stars
Oh no—bitter chamomile usually means it sat too long. I’d try steeping closer to 3–4 minutes and using a fresher bag next time. Also, near-boil is great, but boiling hard can make it harsher.

  51. User avatar Falmer Spellsword says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have honey so I used sugar. Still turned out nice!

  52. User avatar Android 18 says:

    3 stars
Can I use green tea instead? I don’t like chamomile.

  53. 4 stars
Okay, it’s basically sweet tea, but in a good way. I’m not a big vanilla person so I cut it down and it was perfect.

  54. 2 stars
Eh. Chamomile tea already tastes like sleep in the first place. Honey and cinnamon didn’t wow me.

  55. User avatar daphine.ledner says:

    5 stars
Sleepy girl mocktail? What a cute name! Had to try it. Yummy!

  56. User avatar bernard.kerluke says:

    4 stars
Simple and actually doable on a weeknight. 5 minutes steeping isn’t bad at all. I used a bit less honey and it was still great.

  57. User avatar tessa.rosenbaum51 says:

    3 stars
I used raw honey instead of regular and it was too sweet for me. 🤔 Maybe I’ll skip the honey next time.

  58. 4 stars
I like the idea of a mocktail, but “sleepy girl” is kinda funny lol. Either way, it turned out nice and not too sweet. 5 minutes was perfect for me.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—“sleepy girl” is goofy in the best way 😄 And the not-too-sweet part is the key! I’m gonna try it with a tiny bit less honey next time, because I’m usually afraid it’ll be cloying.

  59. User avatar reyes.cassin says:

    4 stars
Not a fan of chamomile, but my friend loved it! She said it’s like a hug in a mug.

  60. 4 stars
Quick and easy, just how I like my drinks. Great for evenings!
