One-Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta

November 4, 2024

One-Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a creamy, comforting dish that’s perfect for busy evenings when you want a delicious, fuss-free meal. Made with simple ingredients like pasta, garlic, butter, and Parmesan cheese, this dish comes together in just one pot—making it easy to prepare and clean up. The garlic-infused sauce is rich, flavorful, and coated over perfectly cooked pasta, making each bite indulgent and satisfying.

The beauty of this dish is in its simplicity. You start by sautéing garlic in butter, allowing it to release its aromatic flavor. Then, you add the pasta along with broth or water, and let everything simmer together. The pasta absorbs the flavors from the garlic and butter, cooking in its own sauce to create a creamy, savory dish without needing cream. Once the pasta is tender, a generous amount of grated Parmesan is stirred in, creating a luscious, velvety sauce that perfectly coats the noodles.

To make One-Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta even more flavorful, you can add seasonings like red pepper flakes for a touch of heat, fresh parsley for brightness, or a squeeze of lemon juice for extra zest. If you want to make it a complete meal, toss in some grilled chicken, shrimp, or sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.

This dish is ready in about 20 minutes, making it a great weeknight option. The fact that everything is cooked in one pot makes it both time-efficient and easy to clean up afterward. Whether you’re cooking for one or feeding the whole family, One-Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta is sure to become a staple in your meal rotation.

With its rich flavor, creamy texture, and minimal cleanup, this dish is everything you want in a comfort meal – simple, quick, and full of deliciousness.

2 tablespoons of olive oil? That’s not enough, I put like half a cup. Soggier but better flavor.

    1. User avatar luci.gulgowski says:

      3 stars
Half a cup? Wow, that’s a lot of oil. I guess it depends on what you like! But I’m not sure that’s what they meant by healthy cooking.

I don’t know… it was okay but kinda bland? Maybe I didn’t add enough salt? Gonna try it again with more spices.

  12. 3 stars
I thought it would be better honestly. The garlic flavor was too strong for my taste.

    1. User avatar Spriggan says:

      4 stars
I actually loved the garlic flavor! Maybe try using less garlic next time.

    2. User avatar Pricilla Wehner PhD says:

2 cloves of garlic would’ve been enough! Too much can ruin the dish.

  13. User avatar rudy.boyer62 says:

    4 stars
Yummy!!! 🥳 Perfect for a quick dinner, I added some chicken too!
    Maybe to much garlic tho.

Can I use whole wheat pasta? Asking for a friend. LOL

    1. User avatar iesha.satterfield says:

      5 stars
Sure, you can! Whole wheat pasta will add a nice nutty flavor. Just keep an eye on the cooking time, it might take a minute or two longer.

  15. 4 stars
Hmm, I don’t like cream sauces usually, but my mom made it, and it was really good!

Not really a fan of garlic. I think I’d skip it next time. Also, heavy cream is too rich for me.

    1. User avatar galina.fay75 says:

      4 stars
I get that! Garlic can be a strong flavor. You could try adding some herbs instead?! And maybe use half the cream? Just a thought!

    2. 2 stars
No garlic?! What’s pasta without it? Heavy cream is good tho, makes it nice n’ rich. You should try it!

  20. 2 stars
I don’t understand why you would use chicken broth in a pasta dish? Seems weird to me. Maybe it’s just me.

  21. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    3 stars
I skipped the cream and used milk instead… it didn’t turn out as good. Maybe stick to the recipe?

  22. User avatar lavada.klocko says:

    3 stars
Yummy! But where is all the parsley in the pictures? Mine turned out bland without it.

    1. User avatar candy.gislason2010 says:

      4 stars
I get where you’re coming from, but it’s more than just cheese on pasta! The garlic and creamy sauce really make it special. Give it a try!

    2. 5 stars
Nah, you ain’t seen nothing yet! It’s super creamy and the garlic totally changes the flavor. Don’t knock it ’til you try it!

  26. 3 stars
Wasnt bad, but idk if id make it again.. too creamy for my taste.

  27. User avatar harrison.baumbach29 says:

  28. User avatar yuki.bailey says:

Can this be made ahead and frozen? I got too much left over and dunno what to do.

    1. User avatar traci.wolff88 says:

      5 stars
Yes, you can freeze it! Just let it cool completely before freezing in airtight containers. It’ll reheat nicely too.

    2. User avatar josiah.stokes says:

      3 stars
I don’t know about freezing. Pasta can get mushy, right? Maybe just keep it in the fridge instead. 🤔

  29. 5 stars
Wow, this was incredible! Better than what I get from an Italian restaurant. You nailed it! 👏

  30. 4 stars
Super easy to make, and I liked it! But, why do you add garlic at the start? It burned a bit.

  31. 4 stars
Could you substitute the parmesan with cheddar? That’s all I had. Still came out ok.

    1. 3 stars
Why not? It’s cheese! But parmesan really has that special kick. Cheddar might be too mild…

    2. 4 stars
Cheddar in pasta? That’s interesting! But I think it might change the flavor too much. Glad it worked for you though!

  33. 3 stars
It was okay, but I thought it would be creamier. Maybe I needed more cheese? 🤔

    4 stars
Too much garlic for my taste, next time I’ll do less. But overall, not bad.

  38. 3 stars
It was okay, but I expected more flavor. Maybe add some herbs or spices next time?

  39. User avatar fernande.hane says:

This is not how you make pasta. Where’s the salt? I think this recipe is flawed.

  56. 2 stars
There was too much garlic. I love garlic but this was too much. Also spaghetti takes longer to cook.

  57. User avatar leonard.stiedemann62 says:

  61. User avatar cleo.ortiz12 says:

    1. 4 stars
I actually love it creamy! But I understand how it can be a bit too much for some. Maybe try Greek yogurt instead?

Not sure what went wrong, but my pasta was mushy. I followed the directions exactly, but it’s flopped. 🤷‍♂️

    1. 3 stars
Maybe you cooked it too long? Check the time next time. Pasta should be al dente, not mushy! 🤔

    2. 4 stars
I totally get it! Sometimes pasta just doesn’t cooperate. Did you make sure to stir it often? That can help prevent mushiness.

  72. 5 stars
Absolute fave! I recommend using more garlic for a stronger flavor. 10/10 would eat again.
