Fried Mozzarella Sticks
Golden and crispy fried mozzarella sticks that are gooey on the inside
Ingredients
- 8 sticks mozzarella
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs beaten
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut the mozzarella sticks in half and set aside.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Dip each mozzarella stick half into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.
- Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for 10 minutes.
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully place the frozen mozzarella sticks in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes.
- Remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
