Fried mozzarella sticks are a classic indulgence that never goes out of style. Golden, crispy on the outside, and gooey on the inside, they are the perfect combination of textures and flavors. Whether you’re preparing them for a party, game day, or simply as a treat for yourself, these homemade mozzarella sticks are sure to satisfy any craving.
To make the best mozzarella sticks, you start by cutting mozzarella cheese into thick, rectangular pieces. Then, each cheese stick is dipped in a seasoned flour mixture, coated in beaten eggs, and covered in a crunchy breadcrumb coating. For extra flavor, add some Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or grated Parmesan to the breadcrumbs. This ensures that each bite is bursting with flavor, while the cheese inside stays perfectly melted.
Once the sticks are coated, they’re ready for frying. The oil should be hot enough to create that perfect golden crust but not too hot to burn them quickly. Fry the mozzarella sticks until they’re crispy and brown, about 2-3 minutes. The key is to ensure that the cheese inside has melted just enough so it’s gooey but not oozing out completely.
The result? A deliciously crispy shell that gives way to a warm, melty cheese center. Serve your mozzarella sticks with a side of marinara sauce for dipping, or try a spicy ranch or garlic butter sauce for a fun twist. They’re perfect for snacking, appetizers, or even a fun addition to any meal.
Fried mozzarella sticks are a comfort food favorite that’s easy to make at home. I don’t really like breadcrumbs. Would it work to just fry them plain?
Frying them plain sounds kinda weird! I think the coating is what makes them crispy and yummy. Maybe try a different coating instead?
Why not? You could fry plain cheese, right? Just won’t be the same tho.
Just made these and they were a hit at the party! So gooey and delicious. ❤️
Used gluten-free breadcrumbs and they were still awesome! Highly recommend!
These turned out amazing! Super cheesy and crispy, just like at the restaurant. Will definitely make again!
YUM! I added some chili powder for kick. They were spicy and tasty! 🔥
Nice idea adding chili powder! I usually just stick to the recipe, but now I’m curious to try it your way! 🌶️
Great snacks for movie night! My kids loved them, will make again!
I tried this recipe and they turned out soggy. What did I do wrong?
I don’t understand how frying them makes them cook? Doesn’t it just heat them up?
Aren’t mozzarella sticks supposed to be deep-fried? Seems too easy.
Yeah, I thought they needed to be deep-fried too! But this seems like a quick way to do it. Might try it!
I don’t know about frying them… seems kinda complicated. Couldn’t I just bake them instead?
Yum! 😍 Perfect for game night. I dipped ’em in ranch dressing instead of marinara. Total hit!
These are the best mozzarella sticks ever! So crispy and cheesy! 😊
Not worth the effort! It was so much work for just some cheese sticks, plus I burned mine.
This isn’t real cooking. Just buy them frozen, it’s easier.
Why do you need to freeze them? Just fry and eat!
