Fried Egg Yolks

September 12, 2025

There are few culinary experiences as intriguing and luxurious as biting into a perfectly fried egg yolk. This dish, though simple in concept, delivers an extraordinary contrast of textures and flavors. At its core lies the yolk, prized for its natural richness, deep golden color, and creamy consistency. When fried with care, the outside develops a crisp and delicate shell, while the inside remains molten, offering a burst of flavor with every bite.

Fried egg yolks stand apart from the common egg dishes we know so well. Unlike scrambled eggs or omelets, which blend yolks and whites into a uniform texture, this preparation focuses solely on the yolk, elevating it into the spotlight. The crisp exterior, achieved through frying, provides a satisfying crunch that gives way to an indulgent center, almost reminiscent of custard in its velvety smoothness. The experience is at once playful and sophisticated, making it a dish suitable for both casual snacking and elegant dining.

The appeal lies in the dish’s versatility. Fried egg yolks can be enjoyed on their own, sprinkled with a touch of salt and pepper, or used as a striking garnish for more complex creations. Imagine topping a bowl of creamy risotto with a golden yolk, the crunch giving way to creamy richness that blends seamlessly with the rice. Or picture them served alongside roasted vegetables, adding a surprising element that enhances both flavor and presentation. Even in the realm of appetizers, these delicate bites can steal the show when paired with sauces, herbs, or a light salad.

Beyond their versatility, fried yolks carry a sense of novelty. They surprise the palate with a mix of textures not typically associated with eggs. The crisp shell contrasts so sharply with the melting interior that even seasoned food lovers find themselves marveling at the experience. This uniqueness makes them a conversation starter at gatherings, a dish that feels experimental while still rooted in familiar comfort.

Ultimately, fried egg yolks are a celebration of simplicity transformed. By spotlighting the yolk and treating it with care, this dish creates something both delightful and unexpected. It reminds us that even the humblest ingredients, when prepared with creativity, can be elevated into an unforgettable culinary moment.

I followed the recipe but mine turned out kinda mushy. Maybe I beat the yolks too much?

  2. 1 star
It didn’t work for me! The yolks burst in the oil and made a mess!

  3. User avatar janene.ohara51 says:

So easy to make! I added some spices to the breadcrumbs for extra flavor. Yum! šŸ˜‹

    1. 5 stars
That sounds delicious! I never thought of adding spices to the breadcrumbs! What spices did you use?

    2. 2 stars
Ewww, fried yolks? Doesn’t sound too appetizing to me. Why would you fry just the yolks?

  4. 5 stars
These fried yolks are amazing! Crunchy outside and creamy inside. A perfect snack!

  5. User avatar eliana.douglas99 says:

    2 stars
Seems a bit odd to fry just yolks. I mean, what’s the point? Just eat the whole egg! šŸ˜•

    1. User avatar alonso.brekke says:

      4 stars
I get what you’re saying, but frying just the yolks gives a different texture! It’s like crunchy little bites of deliciousness. Give it a try! šŸ˜‹

Fried egg yolks are a thing? Who knew! This is a total game changer. Loved them!

    1. 5 stars
Right?! I had no idea you could fry yolks either. They get super crispy! Definitely a new favorite for me too.

    2. User avatar louetta.oconner says:

      3 stars
Sounds cool but is it really worth it? I feel like it’s just fancy fried food. Wouldn’t the whites be better?

  8. 2 stars
Can I use egg whites instead? I got a bunch left over and don’t wanna waste em.

  9. User avatar kris.quigley7 says:

    4 stars
Super tasty, but I wish the instructions said how hot the oil should be. Mine browned a little too fast.

  10. User avatar rocky.mayert says:

    3 stars
Easy to make, but mine didn’t turn out as golden. Probably my oil wasn’t hot enough.

This is weirdly addictive. Like fried chicken vibes but with yolk. I served it with ketchup and it worked way better than I expected.

  15. 5 stars
These fried egg yolks were a hit at my breakfast! So crispy and tasty!

  16. 1 star
Fried yolks? What???? I thought yolks were for baking or scrambled! Not good imo.

  17. User avatar Spider Worker says:

    2 stars
Lol my friend said you can fry just the whites too haha. But this is great anyways!

    1. 4 stars
Yum! I wanna try that too! But frying yolks seems fancy. Can you do it in the oven instead? šŸ¤”

    2. 3 stars
Frying just the whites? That sounds like a waste of yolks! But I mean, whatever floats your boat, right? šŸ˜…

  18. User avatar wilbur.hills says:

    5 stars
This is giving ā€œtiny fried snack.ā€ I served them with a little hot sauce and it slapped. The breading actually stayed on pretty well.

    1. User avatar rafael.hills says:

      5 stars
Tiny fried snack is exactly right šŸ˜‚ I love that you got crispy crumbs that didn’t fall off. Hot sauce pairing sounds perfect.

What a weird idea, frying just yolks?! But actually turned out delish! Will make again.

Frying yolks? Sounds like a waste of egg whites. Aren’t they the healthy part? šŸ˜•

    2. User avatar lloyd.glover62 says:

Tried this but my yolks broke a little when rolling in flour/breadcrumbs. Still tasted good though. Any tip to keep them intact?

  21. User avatar winfred.denesik says:

    2 stars
I tried it, but my yolks sank into the oil and broke apart. Probably user error, but the method seems a little fragile. Still—would make again if I’m more careful.

    1. User avatar marcell.dach2021 says:

      4 stars
Ah yeah, that sounds like the coating/handling step—yolks are super delicate. Next time try keeping the yolk really dry before flour, and don’t flip too soon. Let that breadcrumb crust set for a bit before turning.

  22. 5 stars
Super weird concept but I’m obsessed. The crunch + runny yolk combo is legit. I added a pinch of paprika and it was even better.

  23. User avatar jennette.miller26 says:

    5 stars
These were so good! I didn’t think fried yolks would taste this great. Must try again!

  24. User avatar nicholas.kreiger says:

    4 stars
This is a great recipe. I added some spices to the bread crumbs and it made a huge difference!

  25. User avatar leo.hane1997 says:

    4 stars
Only thing I changed: I salted the yolks right after frying and they got a little soggy. Lesson learned—serve immediately like the recipe says.

  26. 3 stars
I don’t know… this seems risky. I mean, are we really supposed to just fry yolks?? What if they burst?

  27. User avatar leroy.mckenzie88 says:

    3 stars
The ratios are a little off for me—2 tbsp flour and 2 tbsp crumbs felt like a lot for only 2 yolks. Still worked, just leftover coating.

  28. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    1 star
Fried egg yolks? Eww, sounds gross. Are you sure this is a real recipe?

  29. User avatar Daedric Prince says:

    2 stars
I tried making these but my yolks broke. Waste of eggs… Maybe use whole eggs next time?

  30. User avatar deandre.kuhn62 says:

    5 stars
YUM! šŸ³ I’m gonna put these on a burger next time. So delicious!

    1. 5 stars
Whoa, that’s a great idea! I never thought to put fried egg yolks on a burger! šŸ˜‹

  31. User avatar chester.ritchie says:

    4 stars
This feels like a weird breakfast hack. I mean, technically it’s just frying, but wow, the yolk texture is wild.

  32. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, separating yolks is harder than it sounds. Mine looked like tiny broken eggs after coating, but the flavor was still good.

  33. User avatar eloise.harris78 says:

    3 stars
Mine didn’t look ā€œgolden brownā€ at all, more like pale and soft. I think my oil wasn’t hot enough. Still tasty though.

  34. 3 stars
Good idea but I got a little too much oil in mine, they ended up soggy. Will try again!

  35. User avatar charlie.abbott76 says:

    1 star
Looks too fancy for me haha, I’m stickin’ to scrambled eggs!

  36. User avatar oscar.mills92 says:

    4 stars
This is such a weird idea but I can’t stop thinking about it. Might need to try with extra salt/seasonings.

  37. User avatar sol.flatley1978 says:

    4 stars
I used gluten-free breadcrumbs, turned out fine! šŸ˜„

  38. User avatar Super Saiyan 3 Goku says:

    5 stars
These turned out weirdly perfect—crispy outside, but the yolk still felt rich inside. Next time I’ll make sure the yolks don’t break when coating.

    1. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

      4 stars
Weirdly perfect?? Mine usually scramble if I look at them wrong šŸ˜… I think my yolks break when I dip them in flour. Any tips on how you handled the coating without squishing?

    2. User avatar brenda.conn21 says:

      5 stars
That’s awesome! ā€œCrispy but still richā€ is exactly what I want from these. I’ve found rolling them very gently helps keep the yolk intact—nice job šŸ‘

  39. User avatar jordon.wilkinson36 says:

    2 stars
I tried this but the yolks broke when I was coating them. Not sure what went wrong. šŸ™

    1. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

      4 stars
I guess you need to be super careful when separating the yolks! It happens to me too sometimes. Maybe try doing it over a bowl so if they break, it just falls in there.

    2. 3 stars
Sounds tough! Maybe your yolks were a bit older? Fresh ones usually hold up better. Or were you too rough? šŸ¤”

  40. User avatar bebe.hammes says:

    3 stars
I can’t stop thinking about the step where you ā€œrollā€ a yolk in crumbs… that sounds hard. I kinda failed but it tasted okay.

    1. User avatar salvatore.tromp61 says:

      4 stars
Totally get that—rolling them can be fiddly. If the yolk breaks, it usually still tastes great, and ā€œfried crumb eggā€ vibes are still there šŸ˜„ Next time, try thicker crumbs or a lighter hand when coating so it doesn’t smear.

  41. User avatar Angelyn Terry DVM says:

    5 stars
Turned out way crispier than I expected—golden crumbs and the yolk stayed rich. I added a tiny bit of paprika and it was even better.

    1. User avatar herb.larson48 says:

      3 stars
I tried this once but my yolks kinda broke. Maybe I didn’t coat gently enough. Paprika also sounds good though—mine was kinda bland.

    2. User avatar Falmer Warmonger says:

      5 stars
Love thisā€”ā€œgolden crumbsā€ is exactly what I’m after. The paprika idea is genius. šŸ˜„

  42. User avatar antony.maggio1957 says:

    2 stars
    Lol pretty weird

  43. 4 stars
I followed the steps exactly and got a nice crunch. 2 minutes per side felt about right on my stove—didn’t burn.

  44. User avatar dinorah.bailey32 says:

    4 stars
I’m skeptical about frying yolks without the whites. But the breadcrumb layer really helps. Would make again.

  45. User avatar rosenda.buckridge says:

    4 stars
Okay but… 2 minutes per side seems quick. I did closer to 3 and it got crispier. Maybe medium heat varies a lot.

  46. User avatar Alia Atreides says:

    3 stars
Honestly, not a fan. Egg yolks fried? Seems kinda weird to me. But my buddy loved it!

  47. 5 stars
Whoa, ā€œfried egg yolksā€ sounds so fancy for something that’s basically just coating and frying. Crispy outside, runny-ish inside—I’m in.

  48. 5 stars
I made it exactly and they came out golden and crunchy. The salt at the end really ties it together. Would serve with ketchup or aioli.

  49. User avatar terisa.fisher34 says:

    3 stars
Not bad but kinda salty? I used a pinch of salt like it said, but maybe my pinch was too much. Also the flour step made it a bit clumpy if you don’t coat lightly.

  50. User avatar justin.crona says:

    4 stars
I thought the yolks would just explode in the oil, but they held up. 2 minutes per side felt about right for my pan.

  51. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    3 stars
I give it 1 for effort, 4 for taste? lol. The crunch was great but the centers were firmer than I wanted. Maybe fry shorter.

    1. User avatar sylvester.gibson says:

      4 stars
lol I get what you mean—mine were kinda firm too. Next time I’ll pull them a little sooner than 2 minutes a side for sure.

  52. User avatar hannelore.bergnaum26 says:

    5 stars
Tried this for brunch and they actually came out super crispy. Keeping the yolks intact is the whole trick—my first try broke, but second batch was perfect.

    1. User avatar dorian.stehr1969 says:

      3 stars
I tried it once and mine just kinda… fell apart? šŸ˜… But I think my oil was too hot and I rushed the flipping. Gonna try again with more gentle handling and maybe finer crumbs.

    2. User avatar darline.schuster57 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Keeping the yolks intact is exactly where most people mess up—yours sounds like a perfect save on the second try. Crispy yolk heaven for brunch.

  53. User avatar veola.murazik15 says:

    5 stars
Crispy breading on something that’s basically egg yolk… kinda brilliant. I’d eat these with ketchup or hot sauce. Salt at the end is necessary.

    1. User avatar niki.klocko1985 says:

      5 stars
Yes! That combo is weirdly perfect—crispy outside, rich yolk inside. I do the salt right after frying too.

  54. User avatar theodore.koepp says:

    5 stars
Delicious, quick, and fancy looking! Gotta impress my friends with this dish.

  55. 5 stars
Yum! Simple and easy. Just like my mom used to make. Nostalgic!

    1. 5 stars
This sounds amazing! I’ll definitely try it! My mom made the best fried eggs too!

  56. User avatar germaine.rath18 says:

    5 stars
These are the best! I never knew fried egg yolks could taste so good. I added some spices to the flour for extra flavor. Will make again!

  57. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    2 stars
Um, this seems really weird. Why would anyone want to just eat fried yolks? I don’t think I could handle it.

    1. User avatar coralee.monahan48 says:

      2 stars
Fried yolks? Really? Sounds kinda gross to me. How can you even eat that? I mean, aren’t they just gonna be all runny and stuff?

    2. User avatar hildegard.hagenes1962 says:

      5 stars
I thought the same at first, but they are sooo good! Crispy on the outside and creamy inside. You should give it a try!

  58. User avatar timothy.hickle65 says:

    2 stars
I think you need to add more oil or the breadcrumbs don’t crisp. Also medium heat wasn’t enough for me—mine stayed pale and chewy.

  59. User avatar liberal.hero says:

    4 stars
Pretty cool idea, but 2 minutes each side felt a little short for my pan. I ended up going closer to 3 minutes and they got more golden.

  60. 3 stars
It was okay, but I thought it would be more flavorful. Maybe need some spices next time?

  61. User avatar numbers.heidenreich68 says:

    2 stars
Meh, mine came out too oily even with paper towel. Also I forgot to salt right away so the seasoning didn’t stick as much. Still edible though.

  62. 4 stars
I’m honestly surprised this works. Using non-stick oil temp medium helped a lot. Next time I’ll try panko crumbs for extra texture.

  63. 4 stars
This is very specific (yolks only!) so I wasn’t sure about the texture. Turns out the crisp coating is the whole point—cool concept.

    1. 5 stars
Right? The yolk-only thing sounds weird until you bite into that crunch. I like that it actually stays crisp when you eat it right away.

    2. User avatar jarrod.kunze47 says:

      3 stars
I tried this once and the coating kinda fell off… maybe my yolks broke šŸ˜… Still a cool idea though. Would be nice with more detailed tips like how thick the crumb layer should be.

  64. User avatar latoria.brekke82 says:

    2 stars
Mine stuck a little even though the pan said non-stick. I also floured the yolks a lot, so the coating was thicker than it should’ve been.

  65. User avatar barbera.stark says:

    4 stars
    Delish!

  66. User avatar carey.vandervort says:

    2 stars
I don’t get it… why fry yolks instead of a whole egg? Seems like a gimmick. But hey, the breading idea is clever.

  67. User avatar Margeret Rodriguez says:

    4 stars
It works! I was worried the yolks would burn, but they turned golden and crispy. The salt at the end is a must. Simple and fun to make.

  68. User avatar louella.romaguera73 says:

    4 stars
    Nice!

  69. User avatar Siu McCullough says:

    4 stars
I’m not gonna lie, I was skeptical about frying yolks with breadcrumbs like that. But the crunch is legit. Mine got a bit too dark on the second flip though.

  70. User avatar catherin.hackett says:

    5 stars
These are so good! I never thought to fry yolks! šŸ˜‹

  71. User avatar matt.hudson84 says:

    3 stars
Cute concept, but my yolks kept breaking when I separated them. Maybe I need a better egg separator… or just more patience.

    1. User avatar Falmer Archer says:

      4 stars
That sounds frustrating! A better egg separator (or just using a clean spoon/shell half) can help a lot—also chill the eggs first so the yolks are thicker. And patience counts, yeah. šŸ˜…

  72. 5 stars
YUM. I served them with hot sauce and it was like fancy bar food. Definitely making again.

  73. User avatar Ms. Derek Stark says:

    3 stars
Fried egg yolks? Sounds unhealthy. But I gotta admit, they were kinda crunchy and tasty. Who knew?

  74. User avatar renato.dooley94 says:

    3 stars
I followed the instructions but my yolks popped in the oil! Messy kitchen after that 😩.

  75. User avatar anjelica.kunde0 says:

    2 stars
I followed it exactly and the yolk basically exploded in the pan. Maybe my pan wasn’t non-stick? Or maybe I rolled too hard.

  76. 5 stars
I didn’t think you could get crispy yolks, but this was surprisingly good. The coating stayed put and the outside had that crunchy bite.

    1. User avatar marcelo.schmidt says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—crispy yolks sound impossible until you try it. Mine usually sticks to the pan, but the bread crumb coat helped a lot. Great quick snack.

  77. 3 stars
Hmmm, interesting. But sounds too easy, this must be a scam. šŸ˜‚

    1. User avatar dwayne.harris says:

      4 stars
I thought the same thing! But sometimes the simplest recipes are the best. I’m gonna give it a shot! 😊

    2. 2 stars
Nah, it can’t be that good. Just fried egg yolks? Sounds like a joke to me.

  78. User avatar johnathan.boyer53 says:

    3 stars
Tried it once and the yolks kind of broke—mine were too fragile. Still tasty, just not pretty. Any tip to keep them intact?

  79. 4 stars
Delicious idea—like a savory snack. I added a pinch of paprika to the crumbs and it bumped the flavor a lot.

    1. 5 stars
Ooh that sounds amazing—paprika in the crumbs is such a simple upgrade. šŸ˜‹ I’ll have to try it next time. Did you use smoked paprika or regular?

  80. 2 stars
Did anyone else have trouble keeping the yolks intact? Mine broke! 😩

    1. 4 stars
I had the same issue! 😩 They just slipped through my fingers! Any tips on how to separate them better?

    2. 3 stars
Maybe your eggs were too cold? I always let mine sit out for a bit before separating.

  81. User avatar matt.gislason71 says:

    4 stars
This is like fried egg yolk donuts but savory?? Sounds weird, works pretty well. Would serve with a dipping sauce—something garlicky or spicy.

    1. User avatar michel.lowe44 says:

      5 stars
Totally get what you mean—savory ā€œdonutsā€ is weirdly accurate šŸ˜‚ The garlicky dip idea sounds perfect. I’ll try a spicy aioli or even chili-garlic sauce next time.

  82. 2 stars
How can this be healthy? It’s just fried yolks… Not a fan.

    1. 4 stars
I get what you’re saying, but sometimes it’s all about moderation. Frying them gives a nice crunch! Just don’t eat it every day, right?

  83. User avatar Trina Corder says:

    4 stars
Made these for brunch, and it was a hit! So crispy and delicious. Will make again!

Not bad, but 2 minutes each side felt long for me—the outside got crunchy before the inside was how I wanted. Still edible and tasty.

  85. 4 stars
Tasty, but I had trouble keeping the yolks whole. Mine kinda broke when I rolled them. Still good though—next time I’ll separate more carefully.

That’s frustrating! I find separating when the eggs are colder helps—plus I crack them into a small bowl first, then transfer the yolk slowly. What pan did you use?

Not sure about the ā€œfryā€ part—mine basically turned into crunchy yolk bites but the inside wasn’t gooey. Still edible tho.

Honestly I don’t get the point—fried egg is already a thing. Also 2 tablespoons flour and 2 tablespoons crumbs felt kinda random.

  88. 4 stars
Recipe’s cool, but 2 minutes each side felt short for my pan. I had to go closer to 3 minutes. Also my yolks cracked a little—still tasty, just messier.

Not sure about the ā€˜non-stick’ part—mine stuck a bit anyway. Maybe my oil wasn’t hot enough. Still kinda delicious.

This seems kinda dangerous? Like frying just yolks in oil with no batter?? Also why so much bread crumbs—feels like it would be dry.

  91. 2 stars
One star… i mean, I didnt separate the whites right and it turned into mush. So thats on me šŸ˜…

  92. User avatar dara.dietrich75 says:

The flour + breadcrumbs coating didn’t stick super well for me. I think my yolks were too wet or the oil was too hot. Tasty regardless.

    1. User avatar alyson.bashirian2007 says:

      5 stars
I’ve had that happen too. I started patting the yolk surface with a tiny bit of paper towel before flour, and it helps the breadcrumbs grip way more. Also maybe go a bit lower on the oil so the crumbs don’t crisp instantly and slide off.

    2. User avatar micaela.roberts1966 says:

      4 stars
Hm ā€œ2 minutes each sideā€ might be too aggressive depending on the pan. If the oil is too hot the coating fries before it’s stuck. I’d try chilling the yolks 5-10 min after rolling so the crumbs set better. Tasty is still the win though šŸ˜„

  93. User avatar Elbert Kunze says:

Not gonna lie, separating yolks is hard šŸ˜… but the end result is kinda addictive. Mine weren’t super golden after 2 minutes each side—more like 3–4 minutes.

    1. User avatar ulysses.balistreri17 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—separating those yolks is a whole skill šŸ˜… But I’m glad you still got them crispy. 3–4 minutes makes sense if your heat was a bit lower or the coating was thicker.

    2. User avatar efren.halvorson24 says:

      3 stars
Wait, I thought flour + bread crumbs would burn fast. Maybe I’m doing it wrong—mine came out pale and then soggy. Could you fry at higher heat for less time?

  94. User avatar claribel.reynolds says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but mine were a bit too dark—probably my oil was hotter than medium. Flavor is good though, especially with the salt right away.

    1. User avatar michale.williamson63 says:

      5 stars
Yeah, that makes sense—oil can run hotter than ā€œmedium,ā€ and the crumbs will brown fast. I’ve started heating just until it shimmers and then keeping it steady. Glad the flavor came through though!

The taste is okay, but 2 minutes per side feels random. Mine were crunchy but the center was barely cooked.

    1. User avatar Ena Tillman says:

      5 stars
That makes sense—2 minutes/side is pretty ā€œby look and feel.ā€ If your center was barely cooked, your oil temp might’ve been a bit low or the yolks were a little thicker. I’ve had better luck aiming for a deep golden outside and letting them go just a little longer if needed.

I tried it exactly and one yolk broke when I moved it… still good though. Next time I’ll be gentler.

  97. User avatar gerardo.wyman78 says:

These came out super crispy on the outside but still kinda jammy inside—so satisfying. I didn’t expect ā€œegg yolkā€ to be this good, honestly.

    1. User avatar elisha.ledner says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Jammy yolks are the best—crispy outside, creamy inside is exactly what I’m always chasing. Glad the ā€œegg yolkā€ idea worked out for you!

    2. User avatar Felipe McKenzie says:

      3 stars
I tried this once and mine were more like scrambled egg balls lol. Maybe my oil was too hot? Still sounds delicious though—2 minutes each side feels short but I guess that’s the trick.

Tried this recipe last night and my kids loved it! Super easy and fun to make! Just be careful while frying!

My breadcrumbs got soggy fast because I overcrowded the pan. Smaller batches helped a lot—crunch stays better.

    1. User avatar rob.renner13 says:

      5 stars
Omg yes—overcrowding totally wrecks the crisp. I started doing smaller batches and they actually stay crunchy now.

Easy and quick snack. I used panko and it was extra crunchy. Would make again with a dip (like mayo + lemon).

  101. 5 stars
These came out way crispier than I expected—like little fried snacks. The coating actually stayed on.

  102. User avatar cory.stiedemann29 says:

This is weirdly specific and kinda dangerous lol. Hot oil + yolks is a mess if you’re not careful. But the result is tasty.

    1. User avatar marshall.keebler98 says:

      4 stars
Lol yeah the ā€œhot oil + yolksā€ part made me nervous too. Still, 2 min per side and crispy coating sounds legit—tasty reward for the risk.

  103. 4 stars
This is super fiddly separating yolks 😩 but worth it if you’re patient. Next time I’ll use smaller yolks so they don’t break.

  104. User avatar joe_banana says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was nervous separating yolks but it worked. Mine came out a little darker than ā€œgolden,ā€ still tasted great though.

  105. 2 stars
Meh. I cooked them medium heat like it says but they didn’t feel crispy enough. Maybe I didn’t heat the oil enough.

    1. User avatar booker.metz91 says:

      5 stars
Yeah that sounds like the oil temp—2 minutes isn’t always enough if it’s not really hot. I usually wait until the oil shimmers a bit before frying. Also make sure the crumbs are dry and fully coat the yolks.

  106. User avatar thomas.stokes says:

    4 stars
Pretty good snack idea. I used a little more bread crumbs than called for and they stayed crunchy. Next time I’ll be more careful flipping so they don’t break.

Golden and crispy in 4 minutes total? Seems fast, but I like the method. Might need lower heat so they don’t burn before the crust sets.

    1. User avatar araceli.cartwright1959 says:

      4 stars
Right? 4 minutes total feels kinda crazy for ā€œgolden and crispy,ā€ but if your oil is really medium and the coating is thin, maybe it works. I’d definitely lower the heat a bit so the crust doesn’t darken too fast.

  108. 3 stars
I made it exactly and it was… okay. Crispy outside, but the center was kinda underwhelming. Maybe I need better bread crumbs.

  109. User avatar man.renner1973 says:

Okay I tried this and it’s way more fun than I expected. The yolks actually stay pretty intact and come out crunchy. Mine stuck a bit but overall 10/10 snack energy.

  110. 5 stars
Crunchy little bites! I was worried the yolks would break, but rolling them gently actually worked. Next time I’ll salt right after frying for extra punch.
