If you’re feeling extra indulgent, top the chicken with shredded cheese and bake it until melted and bubbly.

Ingredients
- 1 bag Lay’s BBQ potato chips family-size
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4-6 chicken breasts large, boneless
- 1 tablespoon Lawry’s seasoned salt
- 1 dry ranch salad dressing/dip mix
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a 13×9″ baking dish, melt butter in the dish while prepping the chip mix.
- Crush the entire bag of BBQ potato chips (using a rolling pin works well).
- Add seasoned salt and dry ranch mix to the bag of crushed chips, then shake well to mix everything together.
- Wash each chicken breast under cold water, trimming any excess fat.
- Shake each chicken breast in the chip bag to coat, then lay it in the glass dish with melted butter.
- Repeat with each chicken breast.
- After coating all breasts, pour the leftover chips and seasoning from the bag over the top of the chicken, spreading it out to cover.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and scrape the burnt chips on top to the side.
- Serve the chicken breasts. The chicken will be juicy, and the leftover chips, burnt or not, can be mixed with mashed potatoes for added flavor.

This turned out AMAZING! The chicken was so juicy, and the chips added great flavor! Will definitely make again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m glad it turned out so well for you! I love the idea of using BBQ chips. I might try this recipe with some sweet potato chips for a twist.
I dunno, sounds kinda strange to put chips on chicken. Wouldn’t they just get soggy? But if it works for you, cool, I guess.
I dunno… baking chicken with chips sounds weird. But I guess it works? 🤷♂️
Seems a bit odd to me, fried chicken with chips? Never heard of that! I don’t know if it’ll taste good, but I guess everyone has their own style. 🤔
I was skeptical too at first, but trust me, this dish is a game changer! The chips add a nice crunch and flavor. Give it a shot! 😋
I didn’t have ranch dressing, so I just used Italian. It was okay, but not what I expected.
I think using Italian dressing might not give that tangy flavor ranch does. But it’s cool you tried something different! 🍽️
Honestly, ranch is kinda essential for this dish! Italian dressing just ain’t the same. 😕
Good recipe! Just cook it a bit less if you don’t want burnt stuff on top.
Just made this for my family and they loved it! So tasty and a hit at dinner!
My wife made this once. I wasn’t too convinced at first but I loved it! Never thought BBQ chips could do that. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 star for easy, no star for health. Chips, really? But tasty!
My kids loved it! They said it was like fast food but better. Thanks!
BBQ chicken yum!
I dunno about the burnt chips part… sounds kinda weird. Is it really good?
This sounds delicious! Can’t wait to try it! BBQ chicken is always a hit.
I dunno, the idea of using potato chips is weird. I tried it, but it came out kinda soggy for me. Maybe I did somethin wrong?
Soggy chips sound gross! I would not try that. Chips don’t go in chicken. Just use breadcrumbs instead, much better. 🤔
I get what you mean! The chips can get a bit soggy if they’re not crisped before baking. Maybe try baking them a bit first? I love using chips in recipes though, adds a nice crunch! 🍗
