Bacon and Avocado Breakfast Sandwich

October 2, 2023

There’s something about a hearty breakfast sandwich that makes mornings a little more bearable, and when bacon and avocado are involved, you know you’re starting the day off right. This combo brings together crispy, salty bacon and creamy, buttery avocado in a way that feels indulgent yet satisfying. It’s the kind of breakfast that keeps you full, focused, and happy until lunch.

The bacon and avocado breakfast sandwich is a modern classic. It’s easy to assemble, endlessly customizable, and far better than anything you’ll find in a drive-thru. The base is usually a toasted English muffin, croissant, or hearty bread like sourdough or ciabatta. Then comes the crispy bacon—freshly cooked, not too chewy, not too brittle. Next is the avocado, either mashed with a squeeze of lemon or sliced generously to let its creamy texture shine.

Eggs are often part of the mix too, adding even more substance and flavor. You can scramble them, fry them sunny-side-up, or go with a soft yolk for that perfect breakfast sandwich drip. A slice of cheese, like cheddar, Swiss, or provolone, ties everything together with its gooey, melty goodness.

This sandwich is a popular choice for weekend brunch, but it’s also easy enough to throw together on a busy weekday morning. It works great as a meal prep option—just cook the bacon ahead of time and have your avocado and bread ready to go. If you’re short on time, you can even wrap it in foil and take it with you for breakfast on the go.

What makes this sandwich really stand out is the balance of flavors and textures. The smokiness of the bacon, the richness of the avocado, and the crunch of toasted bread all work together to make every bite satisfying. Add a little hot sauce, a dash of pepper, or a handful of greens for a fresh twist.

It’s simple, delicious, and worth every bite.

Isn’t this just a glorified bacon egg muffin? I don’t get the hype 😒

    1. User avatar Frostbite Spider says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean, but there’s something about that creamy avocado that really elevates it! 😍

    2. User avatar mathWizard says:

      3 stars
Aren’t all breakfast sandwiches kind of similar tho? Bacon and eggs are classic! 🤔

  2. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, 4 eggs for 4 muffins sounds like a lot. Did you mean 1 egg per sandwich? Either way, it tastes good.

  3. User avatar shawna.hagenes2003 says:

    5 stars
This was amazing! The bacon made it so flavorful, and the avocado added the perfect creaminess. Definitely a new favorite for breakfast! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  4. User avatar Kaycee Koch Jr. says:

I’m skeptical about frying eggs in the same skillet right after bacon. The flavor was okay, but it got a little smoky. Maybe it’s just my pan, though. Still edible.

    1. User avatar dalton.schumm says:

      5 stars
I get you—bacon grease can get pretty smokey if the pan isn’t cleaned off a bit. Maybe try wiping out excess fat after the bacon, or lower the heat before the eggs go in.

  5. 5 stars
This sandwich is my new breakfast favorite! The bacon and avocado combo is unbeatable. Honestly delicious!

  6. 3 stars
This was okay, but I think it needs more something. Maybe cheese? Idk.

  7. User avatar mohammed.osinski41 says:

Bacon = yes, Avocado = yes. What more can you ask for? It’s breakfast perfection! 🌞 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  8. User avatar tamekia.herman says:

    3 stars
I tried this recipe but it didn’t turn out as expected. The eggs were overcooked and the bacon was too greasy. Maybe I need to practice more? ⭐⭐⭐

    1. User avatar karlyn.dicki says:

      4 stars
Don’t be too hard on yourself! Eggs can be tricky sometimes. Maybe try cooking them on lower heat next time? Sounds yummy anyway! 🍳🥓

  9. User avatar Crazy Tracy says:

    4 stars
Tried something like this but didn’t toast the muffins enough—big difference here. The crisp texture really helps.

  10. User avatar maximo.bogisich1989 says:

I don’t know why everyone is raving about this… it’s just a sandwich? Kind of lame.

  11. User avatar Michael Schoen says:

Bacon was crispy ✅ eggs good. avocodo was ok. Delicious. 10/10!!!

  12. User avatar Android 20 says:

    4 stars
So good! But you know, you could add some cheese for extra flavor! Just saying… 💡

  13. User avatar Arthur Philip Deodat says:

    4 stars
So simple and tasty! I added some cheese and it was divine!

  14. User avatar cedric.kihn36 says:

    2 stars
Meh. It’s okay, but bacon can be salty and avocado is kinda bland by itself. Needs more seasoning or something acidic.

    1. User avatar james.kris1983 says:

      5 stars
I agree—bacon’s always got that salty punch. I usually add a squeeze of lemon or hot sauce on the avocado so it doesn’t feel flat. Also a pinch of chili flakes helps a lot.

    2. User avatar Super Saiyan 2 Gohan says:

      3 stars
I think it’s fine as written. Salt and pepper are “to taste” so add more if you want. Avocado’s not supposed to be like—like super flavorful by itself, it’s more creamy. 🤷‍♂️

  15. User avatar maricruz.walsh1969 says:

    5 stars
Delish! I added some hot sauce to mine and it was fire 🔥🔥. Can’t wait for breakfast again!

    1. User avatar Collin Renner says:

      2 stars
Fire? Really? I dunno about hot sauce on breakfast. Seems weird.

    2. 5 stars
That sounds amazing! Hot sauce is a great idea. I love adding a kick to my breakfast!

  16. User avatar Eccentrica Gallumbits says:

    2 stars
This is just a fried egg sandwhich with bacon n guac. Not special!

  17. User avatar felicita.beahan says:

    3 stars
I was skeptical at first but tried it. It was OK, but I found the bacon too greasy for my liking.

  18. User avatar claudie.armstrong says:

Best breakfast ever! My kids loved helping make these. Quick and fun!

  19. User avatar eustolia.borer71 says:

I love bacon, but isn’t bacon bad for you? I mean, I still want to try it, but like… I worry. 😂 ⭐⭐⭐

  20. User avatar simon.kunze36 says:

    3 stars
English muffins are kinda dry if you toast too long… mine got a bit crunchy and the egg slid out. Still edible though 😅

    1. User avatar forrest.schulist says:

      5 stars
Totally feel you—English muffins can go from perfect to crunch-city fast. I’ve had the egg slide out too 😅. Next time maybe toast just until golden, and let the eggs set a touch thicker (or use a firmer fry). Still looks like a win though!

  21. User avatar robbi.zboncak2013 says:

    3 stars
Just made this 10 minutes ago! It’s so fast and easy. But my English muffins fell apart. Sad! 😟 ⭐⭐⭐

    1. User avatar joe_banana says:

      3 stars
Mmm, better luck next time! Maybe use bagels instead? More stable!

    2. User avatar patricia.mraz60 says:

      4 stars
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Did you toast them a bit too long or maybe they were too fresh? Try letting them cool a bit next time!

  22. 4 stars
Yum! Just what I needed for a weekend brunch. Everyone was asking me for the recipe! 🍳🥑

  23. User avatar Treebeard says:

    2 stars
Bacon is bad for you. I prefer a healthier option without it. Just sayin’.

    1. User avatar augustine.donnelly43 says:

      4 stars
I get where you’re coming from, but bacon has its appeal! You can’t deny the flavor it adds to a breakfast sandwich. Maybe try a turkey bacon instead?

    2. User avatar pattie.schumm30 says:

      2 stars
Healty schmelty. Bacon is the best part of breakfast! You can’t just replace it and expect the same taste. Just sayin’.

  24. User avatar louie.hermiston90 says:

    4 stars
My kids devoured these sandwiches! Thank you for an easy recipe!

    1. 3 stars
Really? I thought it needed more flavor. Maybe some cheese? 🤔

    2. User avatar sharda.tillman says:

      5 stars
I’m so glad your kids loved it! It’s super easy and delicious! We make it all the time.

  25. User avatar rima.daniel1980 says:

    2 stars
Too greasy for my taste. My kids didn’t like it. 😕

    1. User avatar cristie.nolan29 says:

      4 stars
I actually loved it! The grease adds flavor. Maybe try reducing the bacon next time?

    2. 3 stars
It’s bacon! Of course it’s greasy. But not all kids like avocado. Just saying.

  26. User avatar carey.padberg52 says:

    5 stars
Quick and easy, my kids love it! They ask for these sandwiches every Saturday! 🥰

    1. User avatar jose.kozey79 says:

      5 stars
That sounds amazing! I’m going to try it for brunch this weekend. My kids are going to love it too! 🥳

    2. User avatar fran.harris says:

      2 stars
I don’t know… sounds kinda unhealthy with all that bacon. Can’t you just use turkey bacon or something?

  27. User avatar tamesha.wiegand says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but I think 4 eggs is kinda overkill for 4 muffins unless you want them really thick. Also my eggs stuck to the pan a bit—next time I’ll use more oil or lower the heat.

  28. 3 stars
Not bad, but 4 eggs feels like a lot for 4 muffins—maybe I misread? Also, my bacon curled up like crazy. Still tasty though.

  29. User avatar Mr. Manda Flatley says:

    4 stars
The instructions are clear. Medium heat for bacon is the way. I did my eggs over easy—now I want breakfast sandwiches every day.

    1. User avatar darrell.keeling10 says:

      5 stars
Right? Medium heat keeps the bacon from turning into little carbon rocks. Over-easy egg + avocado on an English muffin is legit—now I’m craving one too 😄

  30. 4 stars
Could you use turkey bacon instead? I’m trying to be healthier. Still, sounds good.

  31. User avatar nelida.green1973 says:

    4 stars
So easy. I cooked the bacon first, then scrambled the eggs instead of frying—still worked great and felt faster.

    1. User avatar Pizpot Gargravarr says:

      3 stars
Wait, you scrambled them instead of frying? Huh. I feel like it would be a totally different texture—kinda risky, but glad it worked for you.

    2. 5 stars
Nice! I’m always looking for ways to make it faster without sacrificing flavor. Scrambling the eggs sounds like a great shortcut.

  32. 2 stars
I had a bit of trouble with the eggs. They stuck to the pan. What do I do? 😕

  33. User avatar prince.feeney1965 says:

    5 stars
Wow, who knew bacon and avocado could taste so good together?? 🥑🥓

  34. 4 stars
The instructions are super clear, but 4 eggs for 4 muffins is perfect… unless you like a lot of egg. Then maybe do 5?

  35. User avatar clarisa.brown1967 says:

    4 stars
Good recipe but I used whole wheat muffins instead; still taste good. Just a healthier option, you know? 🍞👏

  36. User avatar dannie.kertzmann says:

    5 stars
bacon avokado = great combo. 10/10, worth making again!!

  37. 5 stars
Best breakfas sandwich ever! Five stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  38. 1 star
Waste of time. Just eat the bacon. And who fries eggs anyway?

  39. 5 stars
Yum!! Can’t believe I never thought to put avocado on my breakfast sandwich. Genius!!!

  40. User avatar Meriadoc Brandybuck says:

    3 stars
It was okay, but I think it needed cheese. Just my opinion, though.

  41. User avatar jeramy.brakus says:

    5 stars
This sandwich is AMAZING! The combo of bacon and avocado is to die for! 😍

  42. 2 stars
Why English muffins? Use normal bread! They taste same. Sounds like marketing to me. 🤨

    1. User avatar abe.oconnell says:

      4 stars
I disagree! English muffins are more classic for breakfast sandwiches. The texture is the key! 😋

  43. User avatar phillip.bashirian says:

    5 stars
This sounds dangerously good. Crispy bacon + runny egg + avocado is a perfect combo for a morning boost.

  44. User avatar halflife4 says:

    4 stars
Avocado + bacon is an unbeatable combo, but I’d swap English muffins for sourdough. Also I’m pretty sure my eggs stuck a bit—could be the pan quality.

    1. User avatar roberta.abshire says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Bacon + avocado is elite. Sourdough sounds even better than English muffins—more flavor and sturdier crust. And for the eggs, I’d say pan surface + a little oil/butter makes a big difference.

    2. User avatar clay.yundt80 says:

      3 stars
I dunno about swapping to sourdough… English muffins are kinda perfect for breakfast sandos. Also if your eggs stuck, maybe you cooked on too high heat or didn’t get the pan hot enough first. I always add a bit more fat.

  45. User avatar milda.steuber23 says:

    5 stars
This is such a solid, no-fuss breakfast. Crispy bacon + runny yolk with creamy avocado is a perfect combo. I added a little hot sauce and it really made it pop.

  46. User avatar barrett.hirthe says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but I found the avocado got a little weirdly warm and mushy if I waited too long. Next time I’ll prep it and assemble right away.

  47. User avatar Miles Teg says:

    4 stars
I used turkey bacon instead. Still turned out great! Yummy!

  48. 4 stars
Yummy! But I skipped the avocado because I think it’s just mushy and tastes funny. Just me? ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  49. User avatar damaris.runolfsson says:

    5 stars
Best breakfast ever! I added some hot sauce for a kick. 🔥

    1. User avatar karissa.ortiz says:

      5 stars
Hot sauce is a genius idea! I never thought of that. Makes it even better. 😋

    2. 2 stars
I dunno, I think bacon and avocado are enough as is. Hot sauce just seems like overkill.

  50. User avatar renato.green47 says:

    2 stars
This is the most simple recipe ever. Who needs it? Bacon, eggs, avocado? That’s what everyone does. Booooring! ⭐⭐

  51. User avatar terrilyn.king71 says:

    4 stars
This seems easy but took me forever! Is it just me or what? Maybe I’m slow… Anyway, still tasted good! ⭐⭐⭐

  52. User avatar macy.murphy12 says:

    3 stars
I tried it and honestly it tasted kinda bland until I salted everything more. The recipe says salt and pepper, but I needed a lot more than I usually do.

    1. 5 stars
Totally get that—bacon and eggs can be super forgiving, but English muffins + avocado really need the right salt level. Next time try salting the egg (and even the avocado slices) and a little pepper right before serving. Glad you figured it out!

  53. 1 star
Why use avocado? It tastes weird. Just bacon and eggs for me.

  54. User avatar lynnette.bernhard59 says:

    4 stars
Super simple and quick! I made it in the morning before work. Will definitely make again!

  55. User avatar greta.bernier1 says:

    2 stars
I forgot the salt and pepper, and it was kind of bland 😕. Next time I will remember. ⭐⭐

  56. User avatar palmer.abernathy4 says:

    5 stars
Five stars easy!!! Bacon makes everything better. Yum.

  57. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    4 stars
I followed it exactly and it came out great—only thing is I burned one slice of bacon lol. Still, would make again.

    1. User avatar shizuko.stehr says:

      5 stars
Love this! I also do mine on medium and the bacon stays perfect. The egg + avocado combo is such a win for a quick morning.

    2. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

      4 stars
I tried it but my bacon burned too 😅 I think my skillet runs hot. Next time I’ll start lower heat. Still tasted good though!

  58. User avatar crissy.lind says:

    5 stars
    5/5. No notes.

    1. User avatar w00d_ch0p says:

      5 stars
5/5 indeed—this sounds perfect. Bacon + runny egg + creamy avocado on toasted English muffins is such a win.

  59. User avatar camille.kertzmann says:

    4 stars
I made it but I used way too much pepper and it kinda overpowered the avocado. Next time I’ll go lighter on seasoning.

  60. 3 stars
I’m not sure about frying eggs in the same skillet—won’t it taste like bacon grease everywhere? Probably still good though.

  61. User avatar juan.hackett says:

    5 stars
Bacon + eggs = breakfast royalty. I love this recipe!

    1. 5 stars
Absolutely! Bacon and eggs are the classic breakfast combo. Did you try adding cheese? It’s amazing too!

    2. 3 stars
I dunno… seems a bit heavy for breakfast? Seems like a lot of calories, huh?

  62. User avatar rebbeca.johnson98 says:

    3 stars
It was okay, but the eggs were too runny for me. Maybe cook them longer next time. Just my opinion.

  63. User avatar cary.feeney77 says:

    3 stars
Too much grease from the bacon, made it kinda soggy. Next time I’m gonna try turkey bacon. More healthy!

  64. User avatar lucien.fisher2 says:

    5 stars
Delicious! The bacon and avocado combo is amazing. Will definitely make again.

  65. 4 stars
Quick n easy! Perfect for a busy mornin’. Thanks!

  66. User avatar gilberte.wyman12 says:

    1 star
I dunno about this recipe. Sounds weird to add avocado to breakfast.

    1. User avatar nathaniel.kuhn says:

      3 stars
Avocado with bacon? That’s like peanut butter on steak! But hey, maybe I’m just old-fashioned.

  67. 2 stars
I don’t understand the hype. It’s just bacon and eggs?! Where’s the flavor? 😒

    1. User avatar loni.berge2021 says:

      4 stars
Have you tried adding some hot sauce or a slice of cheese? That might give it the flavor you’re missing! 🌶️🧀

  68. User avatar Dwarven Centurion says:

    5 stars
This sandwich was AMAZING! The avocado adds such a nice creaminess to the crispy bacon. Definitely a keeper! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    1. 5 stars
I totally agree! The avocado really makes it all come together. I’ve tried it with some hot sauce too, and it’s even better! 👍

  69. User avatar lovella.welch77 says:

    5 stars
Low-key obsessed. I added a little hot sauce and it made it restaurant-level.

  70. User avatar donny.weissnat says:

    4 stars
English muffins are kinda dry sometimes, but toasting fixes that. I’d also add maybe cheese? Still, solid idea.

  71. 2 stars
Why not put cheese? Also, bacon on bottom makes sense. I’m giving 2 stars cuz no cheese lol.

  72. 5 stars
Avocado on breakfast sandwiches is underrated. The salt on the egg and bacon makes it really pop.

    1. User avatar jayne.bahringer2022 says:

      4 stars
Never tried it on breakfast sandwiches, but this sounds kinda… legit? I always worry avocado gets weird if it sits too long, though.

    2. User avatar Miles Teg says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—avocado with salty bacon and a fried egg is such a good combo. I usually add a little pepper + hot sauce on top too.

  73. User avatar wellRespected says:

    5 stars
This looks like the perfect quick morning upgrade—crispy bacon, a runny yolk, and creamy avocado is such a win. I’ll definitely toast the muffins a bit darker next time.

  74. User avatar jamar.dicki86 says:

    4 stars
I don’t eat eggs very often, so I swapped with tofu scramble and it still worked. Salt/pepper is key.

  75. User avatar juliet.gottlieb39 says:

    3 stars
I don’t like avocado, but I tried it anyway. Still good! Maybe less green mush next time.

  76. User avatar alysa.rutherford says:

    5 stars
Simple and hearty. I added a little hot sauce on mine and it was amazing. Would recommend cooking the eggs in the bacon fat for extra flavor.

    1. User avatar Cammar Pilru says:

      5 stars
Love this combo—bacon fat + runny egg is next level. I tried it with hot sauce too and it really wakes everything up. Thanks!

    2. User avatar lashonda.lesch25 says:

      4 stars
I mean… breakfast sandwiches are usually good, but frying eggs in bacon fat seems like it’ll be SUPER greasy 😅 Still, I’ll give it a shot because it sounds flavorful. Maybe cook on slightly lower heat?

  77. User avatar levi.zieme says:

    5 stars
This looks like the perfect Saturday morning sandwich—crispy bacon + creamy avocado + a runny egg? Yes please.

  78. User avatar elmo.mosciski says:

    4 stars
The avocado part feels fancy for a weekday sandwich. I didn’t season the avocado though and it tasted a bit flat—salt on the avocado itself helped a lot. Would make again!
