10-Minute Sesame Noodles

February 21, 2025

When you’re craving a satisfying meal but don’t have the time to spend hours in the kitchen, these 10-minute sesame noodles are the perfect solution. Packed with bold flavors and a creamy, savory sesame sauce, this dish is quick, easy, and full of deliciousness. It’s ideal for busy weeknights or a simple, yet satisfying lunch.

The key to making these sesame noodles so tasty is the sauce. The creamy base comes from tahini, which is sesame paste, mixed with soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, or sugar for a touch of sweetness. Adding garlic and ginger infuses aromatic flavors, while sesame oil gives it a rich, nutty depth. The combination is perfectly balanced, providing a salty, tangy, and slightly sweet sauce that coats the noodles perfectly.

The great thing about sesame noodles is their versatility. You can use any type of noodles you have on hand, whether it’s soba, rice noodles, or even spaghetti. Simply cook the noodles according to the package instructions, and in the meantime, prepare the sesame sauce by whisking together all the ingredients in a bowl. Once the noodles are cooked and drained, toss them with the sesame sauce, and you’re done!

If you’re looking to add extra texture and flavor, you can toss in some fresh vegetables like thinly sliced cucumber, carrots, or bell peppers. For a protein boost, consider adding some cooked chicken, tofu, or shrimp. The vegetables will add crunch, while the protein will make the dish even more filling. If you enjoy a bit of heat, a drizzle of sriracha or a sprinkle of chili flakes can kick up the spice level.

These 10-minute sesame noodles are incredibly satisfying, and the best part is they come together in just a few minutes. Whether you’re in a rush or just looking for a simple dish, this recipe is sure to hit the spot every time.

  3. 3 stars
I tried this but feel like it needed something. Maybe more spices? It was kinda bland for me.

  4. User avatar Elmer Sklue says:

Wasn’t a fan of the honey. Made it too sweet for my taste. 2 stars.

Can I use regular oil instead of sesame oil? I can’t find it in my store..

    1. User avatar cleotilde.ritchie says:

      4 stars
Yeah, you can use regular oil, but it won’t have the same flavor as sesame oil. Just keep that in mind!

  6. User avatar Bowerick Wowbagger says:

I don’t get the fuss. My mom makes better noodles. This is just ok.

Okay but… mine got a bit too oily? I think my sesame oil was extra strong. Maybe cut it down slightly if your brand is bold.

    1. User avatar sadye.lueilwitz says:

      4 stars
Oily? Mine too once—think it was the toasted sesame oil (or I used way too much). Try starting with 1 tsp sesame oil and taste before adding more. Great recipe tho!

    2. User avatar GOPster says:

      5 stars
Good call! I’ve definitely had sesame oil overpower other flavors. Next time I’d go 2/3 tbsp or add more noodles/sauce to balance it out.

  10. User avatar sophia.orn says:

    2 stars
I don’t really get the point of sesame oil. The dish tasted weird to me. Tried it once, won’t do it again.

  11. User avatar forrest.johnson61 says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical at first, but these sesame noodles turned out pretty good. Might add some veggies next time.

  12. User avatar Royal Herman says:

    4 stars
Didn’t have honey, so I used sugar. It worked out fine! 😁

These noodles were not filling at all! I added chicken to mine. Better!

    1. User avatar milo.tromp42 says:

      4 stars
I think adding chicken is a great idea! Noodles can be bland on their own. Did you use leftover chicken or cook it fresh?

  14. 2 stars
Too salty for my taste. Maybe I used too much soy sauce? Not sure if I would make again.

  15. User avatar sharice.dietrich says:

    3 stars
Good dish but too salty for my taste. Maybe less soy sauce next time?

  16. User avatar Slartibartfast says:

    2 stars
Not for me. Too strong sesame/garlic combo. I ate one bowl but wouldn’t make again. Also I hate soggy noodles and I think I overcooked mine.

    1. User avatar felton.herman says:

      4 stars
Totally get it—2 tbsp sesame oil + 1 tsp garlic can be a lot if you’re not into bold flavors. Next time I’d cut the sesame oil in half or use less garlic.

  17. User avatar Quickbeam says:

10 minutes? Really? Took me like 20! But I guess it turned out good.

  19. 3 stars
Why do you use soya sauce? Too salty for me. Next time i’ll try without it.

    1. User avatar matt.torphy88 says:

      4 stars
I get where you’re comin from! Soy sauce can be really salty. You can also try using tamari or just reduce the amount. Enjoy your noodles!

    2. User avatar claudio.fay says:

      3 stars
I don’t know, man. Sounds too easy. Can it really be that good in just 10 minutes? But I guess I’ll try it.

  26. User avatar mabel.lang55 says:

    4 stars
This is basically a cheat version of sesame noodles. Pretty good for weeknights. I’d add some chili flakes or sriracha if you like heat.

  27. User avatar Gail Andrews says:

    2 stars
I didn’t have honey, so I used sugar. Didn’t taste right. Not sure if I’d try again. 🤔

  28. 5 stars
The added garlic makes it all! Yum! Will recommend to my friends.

  29. User avatar lashon.harber says:

    5 stars
Quick and simple recipe. Perfect for busy weeknights! 👍

  30. 4 stars
Noodle is good but where you get spaghetti from? This is Asian.

  31. User avatar Cammar Pilru says:

    4 stars
Really? 10 minutes? Took me like 20! But the taste is good, so I guess I’ll give it a 4.

  32. User avatar alfonzo.murray says:

    4 stars
Was skeptical at first, but these noodles were surprisingly good! Will make again.

  33. User avatar peggy.toy says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty, but I think my garlic was a little too strong—next time I’ll use less. Also, I added a splash of water to loosen the sauce and it made it cling better to the noodles.

    1. User avatar rosalina.kris85 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—garlic can overpower these fast. I usually start with half the amount and adjust. Love the idea of adding a splash of water too; that makes sense for the cling.

  34. User avatar Captain Ginyu says:

    4 stars
Uh, 10 minutes? Took me 20! Maybe I’m just slow. 😂 But still pretty good.

  35. 1 star
Just noodles and sauce? Come on now. This ain’t a meal.

    1. User avatar tommie.effertz1993 says:

      4 stars
Hey, it’s a quick recipe for a busy day! Not every meal has to be a feast, you know?

    2. User avatar Galaxia Woonbeam says:

      3 stars
Noodles and sauce can be great! But yeah, maybe add some chicken or veggies if you want it more filling.

  36. User avatar alia.kunze4 says:

    3 stars
Sesame seeds? What are those? I left them out and it was still ok.

    1. 4 stars
Sesame seeds add a nice crunch and flavor! You might miss them if you try it again. 😅

  37. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

    5 stars
This is literally the best thing I’ve ever made. I can’t even cook!

  38. User avatar Karren Donnelly says:

    3 stars
My sauce turned a little too thick? Maybe I whisked too slow. But overall it tasted good—salty-sweet, and the sesame seeds made it feel fancy.

    1. 5 stars
That sounds really close to what happened to me—when the sauce sits for a sec it can thicken up. I usually whisk a bit faster (or add a splash of hot noodle water) and it loosens right back out. Love that you noticed the salty-sweet combo!

    2. User avatar Magrathean sperm whale says:

      3 stars
Hmm thick sauce… I think you might’ve used too much sesame oil? Also 1 tsp garlic feels like a lot? Mine gets weird if I don’t toss immediately right after mixing. Still, if it tasted good then don’t overthink it lol.

  39. User avatar margarite.barton says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about the honey, but it actually worked well. Surprised me!

  40. User avatar windy.greenfelder66 says:

    3 stars
10 min? More like 20 with all the prep! Still tasted good tho. 😅

    1. User avatar theodore.paucek80 says:

      4 stars
I agree! Prep takes way longer than they say, but worth it for a quick meal. 😄

  41. User avatar silas.russel says:

    2 stars
My noodles turned mushy, not sure what I did wrong. Did I overcook? 🤔

  42. User avatar tyisha.pouros2016 says:

    3 stars
Made it but didn’t have sesame seeds, so used sunflower seeds instead. Still cute but not the same.

  43. User avatar isa.wilkinson9 says:

    5 stars
This is the easiest recipe ever! Love it! 😍

    1. User avatar Wellington Yueh says:

      5 stars
I agree! This recipe is super easy and quick to make! Perfect for busy days. 😊

  44. User avatar mathWizard says:

    4 stars
Not bad at all for 10 minutes. The sauce is tasty, but I think 1 tsp garlic is a lot unless it’s super small/minced fine. Next time I’ll use less.

    1. User avatar wellRespected says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—1 tsp garlic can be punchy fast, especially if it’s not really finely minced. I usually do like 1/2 tsp and it still tastes great.

  45. User avatar grant.upton32 says:

    5 stars
This was so quick and easy! Perfect for a busy weeknight. Definitely making it again.

  46. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

    3 stars
I don’t have green onions, so I used shallots. Still tasty though, but I don’t think it should have soy sauce. Just use salt, it’s better.

    1. User avatar steve_maga says:

      3 stars
I don’t know, man. Soy sauce adds a depth of flavor that’s kinda key to the whole dish! Shallots are good, but you’re missing out on the umami! Just sayin’…

  47. User avatar lacy.bernhard1993 says:

    3 stars
My sesame oil was kinda stale maybe? It didn’t have that toasty flavor, so the whole thing tasted flat. Recipe is fine though—just my ingredients messed up.

    1. User avatar jamal.krajcik says:

      5 stars
Oof, yeah—if the sesame oil is stale it really can kill the whole “toasty” vibe. I bet your sauce tasted more like bland soy + sweet than nutty sesame. Next time try fresh toasted sesame oil (or even toast the seeds a bit) and you should be good!

  48. User avatar luciano.mayer30 says:

    3 stars
I followed it but the sauce felt kinda salty at first, then got better after tossing longer. Maybe my soy sauce was stronger than labeled?

    1. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

      5 stars
That makes sense—soy sauce can vary a lot by brand. If yours is stronger/saltier, it’ll hit hard at first. Tbh I always start with a splash less next time.

  49. User avatar Barliman Butterbur says:

    4 stars
Delicious! But I used regular soy sauce and was very salty. Next time, I’ll listen to the low-sodium part.

  50. 5 stars
Yum! Made this in 8 mins flat, it was a lifesaver after work! Will def make again.

  51. User avatar ethelyn.rohan89 says:

    5 stars
This recipe is sooo easy and delicious! My family loved it! ❤️

  52. User avatar nathan.thiel0 says:

    4 stars
Sesame oil is the MVP. I used regular soy sauce because that’s what I had and it came out a bit saltier, but still really satisfying.

    1. 4 stars
Wait so you can sub soy sauce and it still works? I always thought it would ruin it. Also I’m not toasted my sesame seeds yet lol, but sounds good!

    2. User avatar tisha.bechtelar65 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—sesame oil really pulls it together. I’ve done it with regular soy sauce too and it just needs a tiny pinch less next time. Still hits!

  53. User avatar Gus Tofwin says:

    5 stars
1 teaspoon garlic felt like not enough to me. I doubled it and it tasted way more like the sesame noodles I get from restaurants.

  54. User avatar arnulfo.bauch35 says:

    4 stars
So simple! Next time I might not even boil the noodles, just go raw xD! 🍜

  55. 5 stars
This is like the best thing I ever made! I’m no chef, and still turned out great. Thanks!

  56. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Kwaltz says:

    5 stars
Quick, easy, and delicious! I added some cooked chicken for protein. Yum!

    1. User avatar Gail Andrews says:

      4 stars
Adding chicken sounds great! I usually just eat it plain, but I’m gonna try it your way next time.

    2. User avatar eufemia.huel27 says:

      2 stars
I didn’t find this quick at all! Spaghetti takes longer than 10 minutes to cook! 😕

  57. User avatar hyman.brown83 says:

    3 stars
It was okay, but kinda bland. Maybe try adding more spice next time?

  58. User avatar sherell.sauer40 says:

    5 stars
YUM! Instant favorite. Perfect for when I’m feeling lazy. 😍

  59. User avatar Blue Dartwing says:

    4 stars
Looks easy. Gonna make it, but I add chili flakes cuz life. 🙂
