Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  • Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  • Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix in the flour last until completely smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 60 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

🍌 1. Use Overripe Bananas

The darker, the better! Bananas with black spots or fully brown skin are ideal—they’re sweeter and more flavorful, which adds natural moisture and richness.

🧈 2. Don’t Overmix the Batter

Once you combine the wet and dry ingredients, stir until just combined. Overmixing develops gluten and can lead to a dense or rubbery texture.

🥛 3. Add a Moisture Booster

A dollop of sour cream, Greek yogurt, or even applesauce helps make banana bread extra moist. Try replacing part of the butter or oil with one of these.

🍫 4. Fold in Extras Gently

If you’re adding nuts, chocolate chips, or berries, fold them in at the very end to avoid deflating the batter.

Bake at 325–350°F (160–175°C) for even cooking. Cover loosely with foil halfway through if the top browns too quickly.
