Puff Pastry Cones with Berries

May 16, 2025

Puff pastry cones with berries are the kind of dessert that feels effortlessly fancy. Crisp, golden layers of pastry are shaped into delicate cones, then filled with lightly sweetened whipped cream and topped with fresh, juicy berries. The result is a beautiful and delicious treat that’s perfect for spring and summer gatherings, elegant brunches, or anytime you want to impress without spending hours in the kitchen.

The beauty of this dessert starts with the puff pastry itself. Store-bought puff pastry makes preparation simple and accessible – just cut it into strips and wrap them around metal cone molds (or improvise with rolled foil). Once baked to golden perfection, the cones are light, airy, and irresistibly flaky.

The filling is typically a vanilla whipped cream or mascarpone mixture, lightly sweetened and whipped to soft peaks. Pipe the cream into the cooled pastry cones and top them generously with a mix of fresh berries – strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries all work wonderfully. The creaminess balances the tart berries, while the crispy pastry adds texture and structure.

For a decorative touch, dust the finished cones with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate. You can even customize the filling with lemon zest, a hint of almond extract, or a spoonful of berry jam swirled through the cream.

Puff pastry cones with berries are easy to prepare ahead of time – just bake the cones and store them in an airtight container. Fill them just before serving to keep everything crisp and fresh.

This dessert is proof that a few simple ingredients can turn into something extraordinary. Light, colorful, and bursting with flavor, puff pastry cones with berries are a delightful way to end a meal or sweeten up a celebration.

These are a bit tricky to make, not gonna lie. I burnt a few and the cones didn’t hold well. Maybe I need more practice?

Puff pastry is really just a cheat, right? My grandma made it from scratch and it was way better than this. Who needs ducks to make dough? 3 stars for the effort.

Simple and tasty, but can you use frozen berries instead? Don’t want to waste money on fresh ones.

    1. User avatar anibal.mcclure28 says:
