When you’re craving a warm, savory breakfast that’s both satisfying and nourishing, this bacon and kale breakfast sauté delivers. It’s the kind of dish that wakes up your taste buds and keeps you full well into the morning. With just a handful of ingredients, you get something that feels indulgent yet wholesome, rustic but refined.
Bacon brings its signature smoky, salty flavor to the table, crisped to perfection in the pan. Once that flavor is established, kale enters the scene. The greens soften in the rendered fat, soaking up the essence of the bacon while retaining their bold, slightly bitter edge. Add a few aromatics, like garlic or shallots, and you’ve got a fragrant base that’s already mouthwatering.
This dish works beautifully on its own or as a component of a bigger breakfast spread. Spoon it onto toast, wrap it in a tortilla for a quick breakfast taco, or serve it next to scrambled or poached eggs. If you want to make it heartier, stir in some diced sweet potatoes or chickpeas. Or keep it low-carb and let the bacon and kale shine on their own.
What makes this sauté extra appealing is its balance. The bacon offers richness and crunch, while kale provides texture and nutrients. It’s a delicious way to add greens to your morning routine without sacrificing flavor. Kale is loaded with vitamins A, C, and K, and when paired with protein and healthy fat from bacon, it helps fuel your body for the day ahead.
Everything comes together in one skillet in under 15 minutes, making this recipe as convenient as it is tasty. Whether you’re feeding a crowd or just yourself, bacon and kale breakfast sauté hits the sweet spot between comfort food and clean eating. It’s proof that with the right ingredients, even your weekday breakfasts can feel a little gourmet.

As a busy mom, I love how quick this is. Made it in under 15 minutes. Thanks!
SO YUM! I added some cheese on top and it was perfect. Will definitely be making this again!
Yum! Simple ingredients but packed with flavor. Thanks!
Bacon good!! Need more bacon! 🌟
Kale and bacon…?? never thought you’d combine those, but I liked it!
I’m usually skeptical about “healthy” breakfast stuff but this actually tastes really comforting. I used more pepper than suggested and it was 👌.
Totally get the skepticism—“healthy” breakfasts can be bland. Glad the kale and bacon combo hit that comforting spot! Also 😂 I always go heavy on pepper too—probably why it was 👌
I followed the steps and somehow it was kinda bland until I really went heavy on pepper. Salt/pepper matters!
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about kale for breakfast, but the bacon fat makes it actually delicious.
Kale is just… bitter. I tried this and even with bacon it wasn’t my thing. Maybe add something sweet?
Pretty good I guess but I might sub for spinach next time. Not a big fan of kale.
Good flavors, but I think 5 minutes for kale might be long if your kale is tender—mine got a little too soft. Next time I’ll check at 3-4.
meh, tasted okay but didn’t really blow me away. I’m not sure about the prep.
It sounds good but seems like too much work for not a lot of taste. Just frying eggs is easier!
I really loved this recipe! The bacon and kale flavor combo is awesome. Maybe you just didn’t cook it long enough?
I found the garlic too strong for my taste. Maybe use less next time?
This recipe is amazing! The bacon and kale pair so well together. I would never think to use kale for breakfast, but now it’s a staple! 5 stars!
Not enough flavor without hot sauce, had to add my own. Maybe next time I’ll spice it up more. 3 stars,
I don’t think it needs hot sauce. Just tastes better with the bacon and eggs, y’know?
I totally agree! A little more spice would have made it perfect. I like to add red pepper flakes for a kick! 🌶️
Made it exactly as written. The kale wilted nicely in about 5 minutes. Eggs came out great. Will repeat.
Nice! I love when kale wilts that fast—5 minutes feels perfect. Glad the eggs turned out great too. This is definitely on my “repeat” list.
I tried it but my kale was kinda bitter after 5 min? Maybe I overcooked it or my kale was older. Eggs still good though. Would adding a tiny splash of water or lemon help?
Meh. It’s just bacon and eggs really. This recipe is nothing special. I can make bacon and eggs without a recipe…
Tasty! I might try adding some hot sauce next time!
Why would you ruin it with hot sauce? It’s perfect as is!
Sounds like a great idea! Hot sauce would definitely give it that extra kick.
I only had turkey bacon and it still tasted okay. Not the same crunch as regular bacon, but I’m not mad.
Honestly that makes me feel better—like, still crunchy enough to be bacon-ish. I’ll try turkey bacon next time. 😄
Turkey bacon works but the kale needs more salt. I always burn the garlic if it’s over 1 minute, so watch that. Still, good save!
I thought this was a bit hard to make, like frying eggs is harder than it looks! But it was yummy once I got it right!
This was delicious! I loved the crunchy bacon with the soft eggs. Perfect breakfast!
Sounds good, but I’ve never liked kale. Can you use spinach instead?
Totally agree! The bacon really makes it pop. I usually add some cheese too, yum!
This was super yummy! My family loved it, especially the bacon!
This is a great recipe! The bacon adds so much flavor with the kale. A 5 from me!
Tasty breakfast! Makes me feel healthy too. My kid loved it, even tho she usually hates leafy greens. 🤷♀️
So glad to hear your kid loved it! Bacon can make anything delicious. 😄
This is so good! I love the mix of bacon and kale. Who knew healthy could taste this amazing? 5 stars!
This is such a solid morning combo—salty bacon, garlicky kale, and runny eggs on top? Perfect.
garlic + kale + eggs = perfect. fast breakfast, no weird ingredients.
Can u cook the bacon in the oven? Seems easier than frying. Gonna try it.
I think you can use spinach instead of kale, right? Either way, still a good meal.
Yeah, spinach would definitely work! I think it adds a nice twist to the dish. Glad you liked the meal!
Why is everyone so obsessed with kale? Can’t we just have plain bacon? 1 star.
Kale? Nah, I’m with you on this one. Bacon is king! Who needs all that green stuff anyway?
I get your point! Bacon is definitely amazing on its own. But kale adds some good nutrients too! Why not have both?
Why do people hate kale lol. Mine was kind of bitter but I guess I didn’t remove the stems right. Still, not bad.
Followed the steps pretty much exactly. My kale took closer to 7 minutes to wilt, but it was still great. Would definitely make again.
This dish is amazing! So easy to make and very tasty. Will definitely make it again!
I totally agree! This dish is super easy and so good! I’ve made it twice already. Yum!
Looks good, but I ain’t too sure about kale. Can it really be that tasty? I guess I’d try it once.
Made it for meal prep and it re-heats surprisingly well. I left the eggs separate so they don’t get weird. 10/10.
I love how healthy this is! Can’t believe I actually made it myself!
I don’t know, kale is just weird. It didn’t go well with the eggs for me.
Yum! Just the right amount of crunch with the bacon. My kids loved it.
Kale and bacon is a classic, but 4 eggs seems like a lot for just a bunch of kale. I used only 2 and it felt more balanced.
I get your point—4 eggs can feel excessive with just a bunch of kale. I’ve done 2 eggs too and it’s way more balanced. Either way, it’s a hearty breakfast.
I don’t like kale, but the bacon made it better! Not sure I’ll be making this again.
why do we even eat kale ? it’s just leaves lol. but the bacon made it better.
