Ingredients
- 1 l Red wine
- 100 g Bacon
- 2 piece Garlic clove
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 piece Clove
- 1 tbsp Brown sugar
- 300 ml Hot water
- 1 piece Orange
Instructions
- In a saucepan, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the fat in the pan.
- Add minced garlic to the pan and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the red wine and hot water, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Add cinnamon, clove, and brown sugar to the mixture, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, allowing it to thicken.
- Zest the orange and add the zest along with the juice to the reduction mixture.
- Stir in the crispy bacon pieces and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Strain the sauce if desired, and serve warm over your choice of meat, or use as a unique sauce for pasta.
