Strawberry Chocolate Chip Scones
These delicious scones are infused with juicy strawberries and dotted with decadent chocolate chips. Perfect for a sweet breakfast or afternoon tea!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
- 1 cup strawberries hulled and chopped, fresh
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips to the flour mixture, tossing to combine.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together the milk and vanilla extract. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
- Shape the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick. Cut the circle into 8 wedges.
- Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the scones to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
