Pork and Snow Peas Mix

May 15, 2024

Pork and snow peas mix is a vibrant and satisfying stir-fry that’s perfect for busy weeknights when you want something quick, healthy, and delicious. With tender strips of pork and crisp, sweet snow peas, this dish is all about balancing textures and flavors. It’s a simple meal that feels fresh and light, yet filling enough to leave you completely satisfied.

The beauty of this stir-fry lies in its simplicity. Thinly sliced pork tenderloin or pork loin cooks up quickly, absorbing the flavors of your stir-fry sauce without becoming dry. Snow peas, with their crisp texture and subtle sweetness, add a pleasant crunch that contrasts nicely with the tender pork. A quick toss in a savory sauce made from soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and a touch of sesame oil adds depth and warmth without overwhelming the dish.

This stir-fry is a great canvas for customization, too. If you want to add extra vegetables, you can easily incorporate bell peppers, carrots, or onions. You can also adjust the seasonings to suit your taste, adding chili flakes for heat or a bit of honey for sweetness. The result is a flavorful, well-balanced meal that is also versatile enough to pair with different sides, such as steamed rice, noodles, or even cauliflower rice for a lighter option.

Not only is pork and snow peas mix quick to make, but it’s also healthy, providing protein from the pork and a good dose of fiber and vitamins from the snow peas. The stir-fry method ensures that the vegetables stay crisp and the pork remains juicy, making it an ideal dish for those who want a nutritious meal that’s packed with flavor.

Whether you’re cooking for one or feeding the whole family, this pork and snow peas mix is a delicious option that takes minimal effort but delivers maximum flavor. It’s the kind of dish that works for any night of the week, offering a satisfying meal in under 30 minutes.

This was my first time making anything like this and I swear it was SO GOOD! Definitely keeping this recipe.

  2. User avatar beau.kshlerin1983 says:

Yum! Made this last night and it came out perfect. I added some sesame seeds. So good!

    1. 4 stars
Glad to hear it turned out well! I’ve been hesitant to try adding sesame seeds, but your experience is encouraging. Thanks for sharing!

    2. 2 stars
Sounds ok, but I think adding sesame seeds just muddy the taste. Pork is good without all that…

  3. User avatar Random Dent says:

    5 stars
This was amazing! So flavorful and easy to make. Definitely a keeper!

  4. User avatar royce.waters62 says:

More like ‘Pork and Snooze Peas’. fell asleep halfway through cooking haha.

    1. User avatar bobette.hickle70 says:

      4 stars
Haha, I get it! Cooking can sometimes feel like a snooze fest. But maybe it gets better once you taste it? I’m gonna give it a try.

    2. 2 stars
Sounds too complicated for me. I just want quick meals. Who has time for all that? Maybe I will just eat a sandwich instead.

  5. User avatar robert.ullrich21 says:

I usually hate anything with cornstarch but it’s fine. The texture is a little glossy. Would make again if I’m craving something savory and simple.

  6. User avatar Gormlaith says:

    4 stars
Can you use chicken instead of pork? Really want to try it but don’t eat much pork.

  7. User avatar Dremora Lord says:

This recipe looks easy but I messed up the sauce. How do you make it not clumpy?

    1. User avatar CTRLplusW says:

      5 stars
To avoid clumps, make sure you mix the cornstarch with cold water before adding it to the sauce. Also, whisk it really well! Don’t give up, you’ll get it right next time!

    2. 4 stars
I think you should try adding the cornstarch gradually while stirring. It’s tricky but you’ll figure it out! Or maybe just use a store-bought sauce next time? Easier!

  8. User avatar Jorge Nicolas says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I think it needed more flavor. Maybe some ginger or chili paste next time? Just feels a bit bland.

  9. User avatar twana.conroy53 says:

    4 stars
I followed the steps and the sauce got clumpy until I whisked more aggressively. Once it was smooth, it thickened nicely. Communication with the cornstarch is important, lol.

  10. User avatar lenard.lehner says:

    4 stars
Good flavor combo. I used chicken tenderloin once and it still worked. Next time I’ll slice the pork a bit thinner so it cooks through quicker.

  11. User avatar lynelle.goyette1992 says:

    3 stars
My sauce turned out a little clumpy even though I whisked. I think my cornstarch was old. Overall still good, just not silky.

  12. User avatar hai.gutmann36 says:

    4 stars
Super simple and quick! My whole family loved it. I’ll make it again for sure!

  13. User avatar Quickbeam says:

    5 stars
Loved this! Made it for dinner with my family and we all enjoyed it. So colorful!

  14. User avatar kena.hodkiewicz46 says:

    2 stars
Followed the steps exactly and my sauce got kinda gloopy, like pudding… maybe my cornstarch was old? Flavor was good though, just texture off.

  15. User avatar owen.conn3 says:

    1 star
Meh. Smelled good, but the pork was dry and my sauce went lumpy. I followed it mostly… maybe I whisked wrong? Still ate it.

  16. User avatar tommie.luettgen63 says:

    2 stars
Pork and snow peas? Sounds weird. I’m not sure about this one. 🤔

  17. 5 stars
Okay, I’m not a chef, but even I could manage this and it tasted amazing! 5 stars!

    1. 5 stars
Glad to hear it! Even I was surprised at how easy it was to make. 🤗

  18. 5 stars
This is the kind of stir-fry that makes me look like I know what I’m doing 😅 Great weeknight recipe. Didn’t even need extra seasoning.

    1. User avatar bernie.skiles1958 says:

      4 stars
Looks good, but I’m confused—step 3 says “per side” then step 4 removes it. If pork tenderloin is thin, it usually cooks super fast… I might overcook it. Still, gonna try!

    2. User avatar bok.hudson54 says:

      5 stars
Right?? The sauce combo is magic—soy + oyster + that cornstarch slurry really clings. I did this with chicken once and it still worked great.

  19. User avatar shelia.dach80 says:

    4 stars
I might be dumb, but step 7—pour sauce over top—does that really thicken? I kept stirring and it got there. Still, I’d like more sauce next time.

  20. User avatar Tahm Kench says:

    5 stars
This was so good! The pork was super tender and the snow peas were nice and crunchy. Will make again!

  21. User avatar Arwen Evenstar says:

    5 stars
This was super easy to make! I loved it! My family gobbled it up.

  22. User avatar Dayle Roberts Sr. says:

    2 stars
Meh, just another stir fry. Wouldn’t make again.

  23. 5 stars
Turned out super tasty—nice savory sauce and the veggies stayed crisp. I added a pinch of chili flakes and it was perfect over rice.

  24. User avatar armida.kreiger says:

    2 stars
I don’t get the hype—oyster sauce is weirdly fishy to me. The flavor got better after the sauce thickened though. I’d use less oyster sauce next time.

  25. User avatar broderick.bauch says:

    3 stars
Pork? Snow peas? Sound weird together. But it was ok, I guess. 3/5.

  26. User avatar christi.rosenbaum1994 says:

    2 stars
I dunno, it was kinda bland. Maybe I missed something? I added extra spices but still felt off.

  27. User avatar arnetta.weber55 says:

    3 stars
Pretty tasty, but way too salty for me as written. I’d cut the soy sauce down or add less salt at the end. Otherwise nice texture.

    1. User avatar ArabianNights says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—soy sauce can be super salty. I usually start with half the soy sauce and then add a tiny pinch of salt at the very end only if it needs it.

  28. User avatar Corrupted Shade says:

    3 stars
I think I added too much cornstarch. It was kinda gooey. Not bad, but needs a redo.

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, too much cornstarch can make it all sticky! Next time maybe start with less and add more if needed. Glad it was still decent though!

    2. User avatar tommie.macgyver52 says:

      3 stars
Gooey? Sounds like you made glue, not food! Just kidding, could happen to anyone. I would just try it again with half the cornstarch.

  29. User avatar lauralee.kessler97 says:

    2 stars
I dunno, the pork was kinda dry for me. Not sure if I did it wrong or if the recipe isn’t great. 2/5.

  30. User avatar gilma.goyette2025 says:

    4 stars
Quick and easy meal to whip up! I added some extra chili flakes for heat. Will make again!

    1. User avatar leida.hirthe75 says:

      5 stars
Sounds delicious! I love when meals are quick and still tasty. Great idea with the chili flakes!

    2. User avatar colby.maggio50 says:

      3 stars
Quick, yes, but can it really be that good? This sounds like it needs more spices.. like ginger or something.

  31. 4 stars
Simple and quick to make! I prefer more veggies tho, added some carrots. Yum!

  32. User avatar claudio.hilpert2004 says:

    3 stars
3-4 minutes per side felt long for my slices (maybe I cut them thicker?). I ended up overcooking slightly. Flavor is decent, but timing needs adjusting based on thickness.

    1. User avatar terence.nikolaus says:

      3 stars
I think 3-4 minutes per side is fine for most slices—mine were pretty thin and came out perfect. Maybe your pan was too hot or the slices were crowded?

    2. User avatar benedict.kling says:

      5 stars
Good call on the thickness! I’ve noticed pork tenderloin browns fast, so 3-4 min/side can absolutely overshoot if the slices are bigger. Next time I’ll shave it down and go by doneness.

  33. 4 stars
Wow, super easy. I had snow peas and pork so I said why not. Turned out great, my picky eater even went back for seconds.

  34. User avatar bert.kling84 says:

    2 stars
Not my favorite. The pork was chewy and the veggies felt undercooked. I expected better.

  35. User avatar earl.herzog0 says:

    4 stars
The cornstarch + water sauce worked, but I feel like it took longer than 2-3 minutes to thicken. I had to keep it on the heat a little extra. Not a dealbreaker.

    1. 4 stars
Good point—cornstarch can be slow depending on heat and how much sauce is in the pan. Next time try bringing it a bit closer to a simmer and whisking right before pouring.

  36. User avatar Mrs. Trinidad Funk says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about snow peas staying good, but they came out crunchy. I used less cornstarch slurry maybe and it was still tasty. Definitely making again.

    1. User avatar rudy.streich92 says:

      4 stars
Huh, I always thought snow peas would go mushy in a stir-fry. I might try it but I’d probably use more water? Also I’d salt the peas a bit first. 😅

    2. User avatar briana.kuphal76 says:

      5 stars
I love seeing skeptical comments like this—crisp-tender snow peas are the sweet spot. The sauce thickening with that cornstarch/water mix really helps too. Glad it worked out for you!

  37. User avatar Ford Prefect says:

    5 stars
I substituted chicken for pork because that’s what I had. Still turned out great!

  38. 1 star
This is not how my mom makes it. Your recipe is missing something. Maybe ginger? 1/5.

  39. 3 stars
Flavor is nice but it got too salty for me. I think because both soy sauce and oyster sauce are salty. Maybe use low-sodium soy next time or add more water.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—soy + oyster can be a salt bomb. Next time I’d cut the soy sauce down and/or swap to low-sodium like you said, and maybe add a touch more water before thickening.

  40. User avatar Mrs. Abby Deckow says:

    4 stars
Yum! I used brown sugar in the sauce. Kinda made it sweet, but good!

  41. 3 stars
Ok meal. Not impressive, but not bad either. Just average.

  42. User avatar anderson.zulauf33 says:

    2 stars
Followed the steps exactly but my pork came out tough. What did I do wrong? I’m no pro, but I thought it would be better.

  43. User avatar Wellington Yueh says:

    5 stars
This was soooo good! The flavors mixed really well and my family loved it. Definitely making again!

  44. 3 stars
I swear i cooked the pork 3-4 min per side but it was chewy… Maybe my pan was too hot or my slices were too thick? Sauce was good tho.

    1. User avatar Otto B. Kilt says:

      4 stars
I’ve had this happen when the slices are closer to “pork chop” thickness 😅 Tenderloin needs fast sear + thin pieces. Next time try slicing even thinner (and don’t overcrowd the pan). Also medium-high instead of ripping-hot can help keep it juicy.

    2. 3 stars
3-4 min per side sounds right-ish, but if it was chewy then yeah… pan probably too hot or it cooked longer than you think. Also tenderloin can turn rubbery quick. Sauce being good is a win though!

  45. User avatar stuart.pfeffer65 says:

    3 stars
I used pork shoulder by mistake (don’t judge) and it was not tender at all. The recipe is good, just not forgiving if you swap cuts.

  46. 2 stars
Pork is bad for heart. Why not use chicken instead? Just sayin…

    1. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz says:

      4 stars
Chicken is great, but pork has its own flavor! That’s the point of this recipe, right?

  47. 4 stars
Didn’t have snow peas, used green beans instead. Still tasted great!

    1. User avatar Random Dent says:

      5 stars
Green beans worked? That’s awesome! I’ve always thought you could swap stuff out based on what you have. Great job!

  48. 2 stars
Why do people always think pork and peas go well together? I’m not a fan of this combo.

    1. 4 stars
I actually think the sweetness of the peas balances the pork really well! Give it a try before you dismiss it.

  49. 2 stars
I don’t know about oyster sauce… Sounds a bit weird. Can I just skip it?

  50. User avatar stevie.mante45 says:

    4 stars
Quick and easy! I forgot the oyster sauce, but it still turned out fine. A keeper for busy nights!

  51. User avatar robbi.purdy75 says:

    4 stars
Mine came out a little too thick—maybe I whisked the cornstarch with the water too lazily. Still tasty though, and the veggies stayed crisp.

  52. User avatar Maynard Wyman says:

    4 stars
Really good weeknight meal. My snow peas were a bit overcooked (oops), but the flavor still slapped. Next time I’ll keep them closer to crisp-tender.

  53. 5 stars
This is a great weeknight recipe. The instructions are clear and the timing makes sense. I served it with noodles and it soaked up the sauce really well.

    1. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this is one of those “weeknight saver” meals. The sauce thickens nicely and the snow peas stay crisp. I also served it with noodles and it was gone way too fast.

    2. User avatar taina.osinski says:

      4 stars
I liked it, but I think 3-4 min per side for tenderloin can be a bit much depending on thickness. Mine got slightly overdone. Next time I’ll cook the pork a little shorter and add the veggies later so they don’t soften too much.

  54. 4 stars
Pretty tasty and the snow peas stayed nice and crunchy. I added a pinch of chili flakes like I always do, and it gave it a great kick. Next time I might slice the pork a bit thinner for even faster cooking.

  55. 3 stars
Quick and easy! But I think its missing something, maybe a bit more spice? Added chili flakes.

  56. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    4 stars
I am not a fan of pork, but my husband loved this. I give it a 4 for him!

  57. User avatar Blue Dartwing says:

    4 stars
Solid recipe, but I ended up needing a bit more water to get the sauce smooth. Also, my pork took closer to 5 minutes per side (thicker slices). Still really good.

    1. User avatar rich.landlord says:

      5 stars
Glad it worked for you! I’ve found the sauce thickens a lot faster or slower depending on slice thickness and pan heat, so a splash more water makes sense. 5 min/side is probably right for thicker cuts.

    2. User avatar velma.nikolaus says:

      3 stars
Interesting—mine browned in like 2 min per side, so maybe your pan wasn’t hot enough? Also, cornstarch should thicken even without extra water… unless the soy was too salty? Either way, still sounds tasty.

  58. User avatar shirley.farrell says:

    1 star
Whaaaat? Who puts oyster sauce in a pork dish? It was weird. I didn’t like it at all.

  59. User avatar jamey.connelly86 says:

    2 stars
Meh. It was just okay. I prefer my pork with BBQ sauce, but this was… different.

  60. User avatar elisha.considine17 says:

    5 stars
My kids loved this! They don’t usually eat vegetables, but the snow peas are a hit. Thanks!

  61. 2 stars
Why use pork tho? Should’ve just been chicken, soooo much better.

    1. User avatar leandro.oconnell79 says:

      4 stars
Chicken is good but pork gives it a unique flavor! You should try it!

  62. 4 stars
Yummy! My kids loved it, and that says a lot. Thanks for the recipe!

  63. 1 star
The instructions are confusing. I mixed everything in one bowl and it didn’t turn out right. 🙁

  64. 3 stars
I followed the recipe but it turned out really salty. Maybe less soy sauce next time?

  65. User avatar granville.kessler1971 says:

    2 stars
Not sure what I did wrong, but it was kind of bland. Maybe more garlic next time.

  66. 5 stars
Tried this tonight—so fast and actually tastes like takeout. The cornstarch sauce thickened perfectly and the snow peas stayed crisp. Will make again!

    1. User avatar Freddy Mraz says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I had the same experience—the sauce turns glossy so quickly. Did you use pork tenderloin the full 3–4 min per side?

    2. User avatar hubert.mcglynn says:

      3 stars
This was decent but mine came out kinda thick and salty? I think next time I’ll do a little less soy/oyster or add more water. Snow peas did stay crunchy though.

  67. User avatar elmer.conn49 says:

    5 stars
This is giving takeout vibes but at home. I served with rice and it was honestly better than some places. Easy weeknight win.

  68. User avatar mitchell.lynch71 says:

    5 stars
This was incredible! The pork was super tender and the snow peas were crunchy. Yummy!

    1. User avatar loralee.schamberger73 says:

      5 stars
Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to try this recipe. It sounds delicious!

  69. User avatar pasquale.schneider says:

    3 stars
I overcooked the pork the first time (my fault) and it got a little chewy. But the stir-fry technique is good—crisp-tender veggies, and the sauce did thicken nicely. I’d try again with less cook time.

  70. 4 stars
Quick and easy. But I forgot the garlic! 😱

    1. 2 stars
I mean, how bad can it be without garlic? Just try adding some spice next time instead.

    2. 4 stars
Oh no! Garlic is so essential! Maybe you can add it next time? Still sounds good though!

  71. User avatar dacia.fadel1992 says:

    4 stars
Easy and quick! 🥢 I used chicken instead of pork, turned out great. Thanks for sharing!!

  72. 3 stars
I followed the recipe but the sauce was too salty for my taste. Next time, I will use less soy sauce.

  73. 5 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about using both soy and oyster sauce, but it works. Flavor is deep. I served it over rice and it was gone immediately.

  74. User avatar ariel.mohr80 says:

    5 stars
Made this tonight and it came out super tasty. The sauce thickened nicely and the pork stayed tender. I added a pinch of chili flakes too—highly recommend.

  75. User avatar marcell.larson94 says:

    5 stars
I made this for my boyfriend, and he said it’s his new favorite dish! Yay! 5!

  76. User avatar debera.waelchi61 says:

    4 stars
The garlic smell was amazing while cooking, but I think 2-3 minutes might not be enough for the pork to fully cook if your slices are thicker. Maybe check temp—mine needed like 1-2 extra minutes.

  77. 2 stars
Eh, didn’t taste like much. Might need more soy sauce?

  78. User avatar margery.goyette52 says:

    3 stars
Mine came out a bit bland even after salting/peppering. Probably because I didn’t measure my soy/oyster sauce carefully. If you follow the amounts exactly it might be perfect though.

    1. User avatar joye.bednar56 says:

      5 stars
Totally get it—soy/oyster can vary a lot in saltiness. I always measure the sauces and taste the mixture before it hits the pan. Glad you figured out the likely cause!

    2. 4 stars
Hmm I think it’s more than measuring. 2 tbsp soy + 1 tbsp oyster is kinda light for me. Next time try adding a splash more soy and maybe a pinch of sugar. Also don’t overcook the snow peas or they lose that sweet snap.

  79. User avatar jonathan.funk97 says:

    4 stars
Is there a substitute for oyster sauce? I really don’t like it, but I want to try this.

  80. User avatar julio.tillman2 says:

    5 stars
SO easy!! Loved it! Took less than 30 mins. Will make again for sure.

    1. User avatar Miss Jerrold Friesen says:

      2 stars
Really? Took me ages! Must be doin something wrong. Not sure if I’ll try it again.

    2. User avatar earnest.kessler1995 says:

      5 stars
I’m glad you loved it! It’s one of my go-to recipes too. Super quick and delicious. 👍

I followed this recipe to the letter but my pork ended up tough. Huh. I think I overcooked it. Sad.

  83. User avatar shanika.mclaughlin4 says:

    3 stars
Question: do you trim the snow peas or just snap the ends? I trimmed everything and it felt like a lot, but worth it.

    1. User avatar caron.skiles says:

      5 stars
I usually just snap the ends—no full trimming. But if yours were stringy or extra tough, trimming the whole bit can be worth it. Crisp-tender matters more than perfection!

    2. User avatar yolanda.okuneva says:

      4 stars
I think I trim them like you did—though “felt like a lot” is real 😅 Two cups of snow peas disappears fast in a hot wok. Still, it’s better than tough edges later.

  84. User avatar zane.ortiz83 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, I didn’t have oyster sauce so I swapped with more soy sauce. It was okay but missing that deeper taste. Would probably be 5/5 if I had the right stuff.

  85. 5 stars
Excellent recipe! Next time I’m adding some chili flakes for a kick! #delicious

  86. User avatar minh.heller2006 says:

I prefer my snow peas with a bit of crunch! But, yeah, if you like them softer, just cook ’em a minute longer next time. No biggie!

I agree with you! They were too hard for me too. Maybe they need more time or something. Cooking is an art, I guess.

Wow 1 lb pork tenderloin and only 2 tbsp soy? I thought it would be watery. Turned out ok, sauce got thick but I had to add more cornstarch slurry at the end. Still tasty though.

Wow! Who knew snow peas could be so good? I used chicken instead of pork and it worked great!

I just wanna say, don’t skip the oyster sauce – it makes a big difference! Yum!!!!

Made this tonight—so fast and super flavorful. The sauce thickens nicely and the snow peas stay crisp. Would definitely cook again.

I made this in 30 minutes! Quick and easy! +1 for that!

I dunno, the pork was a bit chewy. Maybe I cooked it wrong? Seems like too many steps.

I hear ya! Pork can be tricky sometimes. Maybe try marinating it longer next time? That could help with the chewiness. Don’t give up on it!

Looks nice, but I’m allergic to soy sauce, so I can’t try it. Bummer.

Maybe you can just skip the soy sauce or replace it with something else? It still looks good!

That’s a bummer! You could try using a different sauce instead, like teriyaki or just a mix of vinegar and sugar.

Ok but where’s the spice? I like chili flakes. Without any heat it’s kinda bland. Still, veggies cooked nice.

Kinda plain, but it filled up my belly. Not sure if I’ll make again.

Just a heads up, I found out oyster sauce has fish in it. Not cool if you’re vegetarian. 🙁

Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t realize that about oyster sauce. I’ll have to find a substitute! 🙂

Well, this is a pork dish, so isn’t it kinda obvious that it’d have meat in it? Just saying!

Weirdly delicious. I had pork tenderloin and snow peas, so I tried it. The bell pepper adds a sweet crunch—nice!

Pretty solid, but I found the pork needed closer to 5 minutes per side (thinner slices might cook faster). Also, don’t skip browning—big flavor there.

Made this tonight—so fast and tasty. The sauce thickens perfectly and the snow peas stay crisp. I served it over jasmine rice and it was gone immediately.

Wow that sounds good. I might swap the oyster sauce for more soy though (only thing I keep on hand). Also does it really need medium-high? Mine usually burns if I push it.

Yes! I love when the cornstarch sauce actually thickens without turning gummy. Crispy snow peas is the best part—going to try it over rice next time too.

Delicious! The snow peas were very crunchy which I liked! Will make again.

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about mixing oyster sauce + cornstarch like that, but it actually worked. The pork browned fast and the veggies weren’t overcooked. Comfort food in a wok.

Simple to make! I added some sesame oil and it was delicious. Thanks for the easy recipe!

I’m not sure about using both soy sauce and oyster sauce—feels a bit too salty for my taste. I ended up adding more water and it was better.

Not bad, but my sauce didn’t thicken at all—like, at all. Maybe I didn’t whisk the cornstarch right. Ended up adding a little more cornstarch slurry and it finally worked.

Wasn’t expecting much but it blew my mind! Gonna make it for my friends!

I followed the recipe but it tasted a little too salty for my liking. Maybe my soy sauce was extra strong? Otherwise the stir-fry was solid.

Too many steps for me. I just want to throw stuff in and go. Yikes!
