Ingredients
- 1 package puff pastry thawed if frozen, or crescent rolls
- 12 pieces mini sausages or hot dogs
- 1 tbsp egg beaten, for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry or crescent rolls and cut them into small triangles.
- Place one mini sausage or hot dog on the wide end of each triangle and roll it up towards the narrow end.
- Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the wrapped sausages with the beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
Not bad, but cutting triangles out of crescent dough felt weird. Mine kind of tore when I rolled them. Probably user error, but I’ll try puff pastry next time.
I don’t know, they were kinda dry. Maybe need more seasoning?
I agree! They can be a bit bland without enough seasoning. Try adding some garlic powder or paprika next time!
Mine browned fast at 12 minutes, so watch them closely. The taste was great though—crispy outside, juicy inside. Wouldn’t change much.
Thanks for the heads-up! I’ve had mine go from pale to burnt in like 10 minutes before. 12 sounds about right—now I’ll start checking early.
Hmm mine didn’t brown at 12… I think my oven runs cold. I just baked longer till it looked golden. Tasted good but the pastry got kinda dry, maybe I overdid it.
So easy to make, but my kids devoured them in seconds! I’ll definitely be making these again.
These are a hit at every party! So easy to make and everyone loves them.
I tried using only puff pastry sheets and cut triangles—kinda messy but fun. Not super hard. Also parchment paper saved cleanup, 10/10 for that.
Yummy! I made these for a party and everyone went bananas! 🍴
375°F seems fine but I swear my oven runs hotter. I ended up baking closer to 10-11 minutes and it saved them from getting too dark.
I dunno, I think the puff pastry takes too long. I prefer the store-bought stuff, lol.
I get that! Store-bought is super convenient. But there’s just something about homemade that hits different. 🙃
I thought pigs in a blanket were made with real pigs. Not sure how I feel about this. 🤔
Super tasty! Couldn’t stop eating them. 😍
Delicious! Easy peasy, I made them for my kids and they loved it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Are the sausages really necessary?? Can’t I just put cheese inside?
I made these using hotdogs from a can, not sure if that’s right but they were still ok??
Hotdogs from a can? That’s different! But I’m glad they turned out okay for you!
Yummy! But can I make em with cheese? That would be awesome!
Yes! You can totally add cheese! Just put a piece inside the triangle with the sausage before rolling it up. It’s gonna be so cheesy and delicious!
Cheese in pigs in a blanket? That sounds weird. I dunno, might ruin the whole thing…
Puff pastry is overrated! Use crescent rolls instead, way better!
I think puff pastry has its own unique flakiness that makes it special! But I guess if you like crescent rolls, go for it.
Crescent rolls? Really? Just doesn’t taste the same, but to each their own. 🤷♂️
I used hot dogs, but it turn out soggy, idk what went wrong…😩
These are a huge hit at our parties! Everyone loves them, especially the kids. Easy to make too!
Pigs in blankets are for kids. I want to eat grown-up food!
Who says adults can’t enjoy some fun food? Pigs in blankets are delicious!
So good!!! 😋 My kids devoured them in minutes. They’re so cute too. Thanks for sharing!
Why are these called pigs in a blanket if they’re hot dogs? Confusing.
Too much effort for a snack. I think I’ll stick to buying them frozen next time.
These were a hit at the party! So easy to make and they disappeared fast.
These sound delicious! I need to try them for my next gathering.
I tried this but used bacon instead of mini sausages. Wasn’t what I expected. 😕
I used chicken sausages instead of mini hot dogs, and they turned out great! Will definitely do again.
Disappointed. Didn’t taste like I thought they would. Need more flavor!
Not my thing. Too much pastry for my taste.
Simple and quick to prepare. Think I might add cheese next time for some extra flavor!
Adding cheese sounds delicious! I made these last week and they were a hit at the party. Definitely going to try it with cheese next time too.
I found them kinda bland. Maybe add some spices?
Nah, they’re fine as they are. You gotta appreciate the simplicity!
I totally agree! A little paprika or garlic powder could really amp it up!
I’m no cook, but these were easy enough. Thanks for sharing!
I dunno, they kinda look too simple. Are they really that good? 🤔
Glad to hear you found it easy! Perfect for beginners. 🥳
Can you use biscuit dough instead? I don’t have puff pastry.
I dunno, the puff pastry just didn’t work well for me. They came out soggy. 🙁
These are so good! I added cheese inside too, delish!
These are the best! Super easy and everyone loves them at parties. 🥳
I totally agree! These are a hit every time! 🎉
They seem simple, but I never get it right. My pastry always burns! 😩
Delicious! I added some spices and it made them even better!
Lol, I thought I was making blankets for pigs, not food. 😂
Haha, I love that! But trust me, they are way tastier than any blanket for pigs! 😂
I followed it pretty close, but mine were a little too browned after 15 minutes. Next time I’ll start checking at 10-12. Still tasty though.
That browned-up quick is so real—puff pastry can go from “golden” to “too much” fast. Next time starting at 10–12 minutes makes sense. I also rotate the pan halfway through when I remember. Glad they were still tasty though!
Why do people love these so much? I don’t get it. They weren’t that great to me.
Super quick snack! My kids devoured them in minutes! 👍
I tried this recipe, but the pastry was soggy. Maybe I did something wrong?
