A little too much chopping for me, but the recipe is solid. Maybe pre-diced veggies would help?
I didn’t have all the ingredients but it still turned out good enough.
That’s great to hear! Sometimes improvising can lead to the best recipes. What did you substitute?
Sooo good! My new favorite!
I completely agree! This soup is amazing! What other recipes have you tried?
I never know which fish to use. Does it have to be white or can I use salmon?
This sounds amazing! Can’t wait to try it!
Yummy! I added some garlic bread on the side. Perfect pairing for this dish. 😍
Honestly, I’ve tried better recipes. This one was just okay, not bad though. Kind of bland needed more spices.
Wow, 4 cups broth for 1 pound fish feels kinda light—like it’ll be more stew than soup. Still gonna try, looks tasty!
I totally get what you mean, but it’ll probably turn out more like a light broth with tender fish than a thick stew. If you want it thicker, simmer a bit longer or add another splash of broth/less water next time.
This soup is DELICIOUS! I never liked fish until I tried this recipe. My family can’t get enough!
I’m so glad you loved it! I’ve been hesitant to try cooking fish but this gives me hope! 🌟
I followed the recipe but it turned out too spicy for my taste. Maybe cut back on the cayenne?
Why boil fish for 30 min though? I mean… fish be delicate. I’ll probably add it later next time. Recipe good but timing skeptical.
Didn’t have some ingredients, so I used whatever I had. It turned out good but probably not authentic.
Mmm, very good! Even my kids liked it and they are so picky! Five stars!
Not sure about 1 tsp paprika + 1/2 tsp cayenne for my taste… might be a bit spicy? Still, the flavor base looks solid.
This is just like the soup my grandma used to make! Brings back memories!
The steps were a bit confusing, especially where you add the fish. Could be clearer!
Too many veggies! I couldn’t even taste the fish. Next time I’ll just skip the peppers maybe.
I don’t think fish and soup should ever go together. Y’all are weird. But hey, my wife loved it.
Why does it take so long to cook? Can’t I just microwave it? 😂
I like that it’s pretty straightforward and doesn’t require a ton of ingredients. 30 minutes simmer seems about right for the fish too.
Simple recipe but I used chicken instead of fish because my kids dont like fish. Still turn out good!
This soup was sooo good! My family loved it! 🙌
Sounds good but i don’t think my kids will eat it. They only like chicken… 🤷♂️
Have you tried getting them to help make it? Maybe they’ll like it more if they help out!
I’m skeptical about using zucchini—like will it go mushy? But if you only simmer 30 minutes it might stay nice. Might try with thicker-cut pieces.
Tbh I’d just cut the zucchini thicker like you said or even add it later, otherwise it breaks down fast. Also 30 min might be enough—don’t boil hard. Otherwise the fish could overcook too.
I get the zucchini-mushy worry, but in this soup it’s diced small and only simmered about 30 mins on low. I’ve done it and it kind of softens and disappears into the broth—still tasty, not slimy.
This soup is AMAZING! So fresh and flavorful. Will definitely make again!
Lol “fish or vegetable broth” is convenient. I used vegetable and it still tasted really good. The tomato paste step really boosts the flavor.
I’m not sure about using white fish. Can I use salmon instead? Would that change the soup a lot?
OMG this is so good! My family devoured it. Thanks for sharing!
This soup is absolutely amazing! I can’t believe how flavorful it is with just a few ingredients. Definitely a keeper!
Not sure if I did it right, but my fish fell apart. Is that normal?
Looks complicated, but I guess anyone can cook if they follow the steps right? 😂 Idk if I’ll try it tho.
Why do you add the broth so late? Shouldn’t it be at the start? 🤔
Nah, I think it’s fine as is. It’s just a soup, don’t overthink it! 😂
I thought the same thing! But maybe adding broth later lets the veggies flavor more. 🤷♂️
I added some lemon juice and it was a game changer! So fresh!
I don’t like fish that much, but my husband loves it! I’ll give it a shot.
This soup sounds delicious! I’m sure your husband will love it, and you might end up enjoying it too! 😊
I don’t know about this. Fish soup? Really? How can you like that? 🤔
I used shrimp instead of fish and it was still super duper tasty! I love this recipe!
Yummy! I think I could live on this soup forever! 😍
It looks good, but I never had fish soup. Is it like bouillabaisse? 🤔
Meditteranean fish soup? More like fishy water! Not my cup of tea. 😒
Yummy! Got my kids to eat veggies too! Who knew?
Wow. This is sooo good. My cat even liked the smell (idk why). Will make again!!!
Not really a fan. I think it needed more seasoning. It just felt bland to me.
Super delicious! My kids loved it! I added some lemon juice for a kick. Will do this again for sure!
So glad to hear your kids loved it! Lemon juice is a great idea for extra flavor. Can’t wait to try it myself!
Simple soup but didn’t do much for me. Little bland, I think it needs more spices.
Simple and tasty! Easy to make on a weeknight. Big hit with my kids!
I don’t know… soup with fish? Kinda weird, right? Not sure if my kids would like it.
This sounds yummy! I love how quick it is to prepare. Will definitely try it this week!
Wow! So easy and quick! I skipped the cayenne pepper coz I’m not good with spicy, but it turned out great anyway.
Yum! Had this for dinner last night, best soup ever!
Not sure about the cayenne amount—1/2 tsp sounds spicy-ish. Could be great though if you like heat.
Yeah, 1/2 tsp cayenne is definitely on the spicier side, but it’s pretty reasonable for a fish soup. I’d start there and adjust next time—more cayenne if you want heat, less if you don’t. The paprika + tomatoes help balance it.
I made something similar before and it always comes out great. The timing seems reasonable too—especially the 30 min simmer. Definitely bookmarking.
Why do you use cayenne? Feels like overkill. Unnecessary ingredient.
Cayenne adds a nice kick! Don’t knock it till you try it. It really brings the soup to life. 😋
I tried making this, but it ended up too spicy for my taste. Maybe less cayenne next time?
I made something like this once and the fish got kinda chewy. If anyone tries it, don’t overcook the fillets—watch the simmer time.
Totally agree on not overcooking the fish—chewy is the worst. I usually add the fillets for the last ~10 minutes of simmer instead of the full 30.
Easy to make and healthy. My kids didn’t even notice the veggies. Will make again!
5 stars! This recipe is a keeper. Perfect for cold nights, and it makes you feel healthy. 🌟
I totally agree! This soup is so comforting. I made it last night, and it was perfect for my family. 😊
My kids didn’t like it, but I thought it was OK. They are picky eaters though.
This sounds so cozy and bright—zucchini + peppers + tomato paste is such a good combo. I’ll definitely try it with cod or halibut. 🌊
Not sure about the cayenne—1/2 tsp seems like a lot for a soup like this. Could be great though if you like heat. Maybe start with less?
I agree—1/2 tsp cayenne feels spicy for a soup like this. I always start with 1/4 tsp and add more at the end if needed.
Nah, I think 1/2 tsp is fine. Cayenne isn’t like pepper flakes—works great with the tomato and paprika. If it’s too hot, just add more broth or extra tomatoes.
Too many veggies. Fish soup should just be fish and broth. Disappointed!
Okay, question: does it matter if you use fish broth vs vegetable? I don’t have fish broth. Also, can you just skip tomato paste if you’re out?
Tomato paste is kinda important for thickness, so skipping it might make it taste more watery. But if you’re out, use a little extra tomato or even a spoon of ketchup—idk, just my quick fix 😅
You can totally use vegetable broth—won’t be the same “sea” flavor, but it’ll still be tasty. If you want, add a tiny squeeze of lemon at the end to brighten it up.
Tasted like restaurant quality. Will impress my guests!
I swapped the fish for tofu and it still turned out great! Good for vegans. 🙏
