Mango and avocado salad is a fresh, colorful dish that combines the juicy sweetness of ripe mango with the rich creaminess of avocado for a perfect summer bite. This salad is more than just a pretty plate—it’s a delicious blend of tropical flavors, textures, and nutrients that work beautifully as a side dish, a light lunch, or even a starter for a dinner party.
To create this refreshing salad, start by slicing ripe mangoes and avocados into bite-sized chunks. The mango brings a bright, fruity sweetness that complements the buttery texture of the avocado. Add thinly sliced red onions for a little bite, chopped fresh cilantro for herbal freshness, and a handful of arugula or baby spinach if you’d like to add greens.
A simple citrus dressing ties everything together. Whisk together lime juice, olive oil, a pinch of salt, and just a hint of honey or maple syrup to enhance the natural sweetness of the mango. For a spicy kick, add a dash of chili flakes or a few slices of fresh jalapeño. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and gently toss to coat, being careful not to mash the avocado.
The result is a light yet satisfying salad with a beautiful balance of flavors—sweet, creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy. It’s a great accompaniment to grilled meats or seafood, especially shrimp or chicken, and it also shines on its own as a refreshing lunch option. For added texture, sprinkle in some toasted pumpkin seeds, chopped nuts, or crumbled feta.
Mango and avocado salad is not just a feast for the taste buds, but also a nutritious choice. Packed with fiber, healthy fats, and vitamin C, it’s a feel-good dish you’ll return to again and again—especially during warmer months when you’re craving something cool, light, and full of flavor.

I used frozen mango and it didn’t work out. Too mushy! Next time will use fresh.
Why do people keep adding cilantro? It ruins the taste.
Simple and quick, just what I needed after a long day! 👌
This salad is a burst of freshness! I absolutely loved it. Perfect for summer.
Delicious!! I didn’t have red onion, so I used green onion. Still tasty!
Tasty salad, but I think it could use some chili flakes for spice!
Chili flakes? For a salad? Nah, man. This is perfect as it is.
I agree! A little heat would really elevate the flavors. Great suggestion!
Why do you put lime juice? I thought that was just for fish dishes!
This salad is so refreshing! I added some jalapenos for a kick, yum!
I don’t know, it just didn’t taste that good to me. Too mushy maybe?
I totally get that! It can be a bit mushy if the avocados or mangoes are overripe. Maybe try it with firmer fruit next time?
OMG, this is my new favorite! The lime juice gave it a zing! Will make again.
Uhm, what if someone doesn’t like mangoes? Can it be made with apples instead?
Not really sure about the combo of mango and avocado. Sounds weird.
Easy and quick to make! Perfect for summer BBQs. Will make again!
I totally agree! This salad is a hit at every BBQ I’ve hosted. Super refreshing!
Mango and avocado in a salad? Who would’ve thought! 😀 Love it!
Mango and avocado? Sounds odd to me. I dunno if I’d like that.
Right? It’s such a refreshing combo! Totally gonna try it now. 🙂
