Linguine with Clams and Cherry Tomatoes

August 8, 2023

Linguine with Clams and Cherry Tomatoes is a vibrant and light seafood pasta that brings together tender clams, sweet cherry tomatoes, and al dente linguine in a beautifully aromatic garlic and white wine sauce. This dish offers a perfect balance of flavors, with the briny sweetness of the clams complemented by the juicy burst of cherry tomatoes and the subtle heat from garlic and red pepper flakes. It’s a simple yet elegant dish that highlights the freshness of the ingredients.

The linguine, a slightly thicker pasta, provides a perfect base to soak up the savory sauce. It’s cooked to perfection, allowing it to absorb the flavorful juices from the clams and tomatoes as it simmers together. The clams are gently steamed in white wine, garlic, and a splash of olive oil, releasing their juices into the sauce and creating a briny depth of flavor.

The cherry tomatoes are halved and sautéed with garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes, allowing them to soften and release their sweet juices into the sauce. The burst of flavor from the tomatoes adds a refreshing contrast to the briny clams, making each bite a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy flavors.

Once the clams open, they are tossed with the linguine and the tomato sauce, allowing the pasta to soak up all the flavorful juices. Fresh parsley is stirred in for an added burst of freshness, and a drizzle of olive oil can be added for richness. A squeeze of lemon juice right before serving brightens up the dish and brings out the natural sweetness of the seafood and tomatoes.

Linguine with Clams and Cherry Tomatoes is perfect for a quick and elegant weeknight dinner, a special meal for guests, or anytime you’re craving something fresh and light. It’s a delicious celebration of seafood that’s both satisfying and refreshing.

In summary, this dish combines tender clams, sweet cherry tomatoes, and linguine in a fragrant garlic and white wine sauce, creating a light, fresh, and flavorful pasta dish that’s simple yet sophisticated. The perfect balance of flavors makes it a standout choice for any seafood lover.

Why do people eat clams? They look like giant bugs in the ocean. Disgusting.

Maybe they were dead before you cooked them? You gotta make sure they’re all alive! That’s why they don’t open. Try soaking them in salt water before cooking next time.

    2. User avatar Galadriel says:

      3 stars
I always have that problem too! You should try steaming them longer or adding more wine. That usually works for me.
