A Grilled Shrimp Salad is the perfect balance of protein, fresh vegetables, and vibrant flavors, making it an ideal choice for a light lunch or a satisfying dinner. Grilled shrimp add a smoky char that pairs beautifully with crisp greens, creating a salad that’s not only delicious but also filling and nutritious.
The shrimp are the star of this dish. Tossed in a simple marinade of olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and a touch of paprika or cayenne for a bit of heat, they absorb just the right amount of flavor before hitting the grill. Once cooked, the shrimp are tender, juicy, and have just the right amount of smokiness, making them the perfect complement to the freshness of the salad.
For the base, use a mix of your favorite greens, crisp romaine, peppery arugula, or tender spinach all work wonderfully. Add in your choice of veggies, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onions, and avocado are great additions, providing a satisfying contrast in texture and flavor. A sprinkle of feta or goat cheese can add a creamy richness, while a handful of toasted nuts or seeds offers some crunch.
The dressing for this salad should be just as light and fresh as the ingredients. A simple lemon vinaigrette made with olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and a touch of honey adds a tangy, zesty kick that ties everything together without overpowering the shrimp. For a richer touch, you can opt for a creamy dressing like avocado or a light ranch, depending on your taste.
This Grilled Shrimp Salad is incredibly versatile. It can be a standalone meal or a perfect side dish to accompany grilled meats or seafood. The combination of smoky shrimp, fresh greens, and a light dressing makes for a satisfying and refreshing meal, ideal for warm weather or when you’re craving something healthy and flavorful.
Whether you’re looking for a light lunch, an impressive dinner, or a dish to enjoy at your next BBQ, Grilled Shrimp Salad delivers on both taste and nutrition. It’s the perfect dish to keep you feeling full and energized without feeling heavy.

Could use more shrimp 😅 Also I added a squeeze of lemon at the end and it really popped. Dressing is simple but solid.
Shrimp? No! I’m vegetarian. Why would anyone eat those poor things???
I made this but I think I overcooked the shrimp. They were chewy. 😕
It’s ok, but a bit too much going on in the salad for my taste.
Very easy to make. I used frozen shrimp and it turned out fine! 👍
I’m not a fan of dill…is there a substitute? I only used parsley. Still turned out ok.
This salad was ok but felt like it lacked something. Maybe avocado? 🤷♂️
Not enough dressing for all the veggies, needs more lemon! I’ll add extra next time.
Nah, I think the dressing is fine as is. Too much lemon makes it taste weird. Just saying.
I totally agree! A little more lemon can really brighten up the flavors. Next time, I’ll try your suggestion.
Too much garlic for my taste. Maybe cut it down to half a clove? 🤷♂️
Ugh, garlic makes everything better! You don’t know what you’re missing! 😜
I think the garlic adds a great flavor! You can definitely adjust to your preference though. 👍
Um… I forgot to devein once and now I’m sad. Taste still good tho. Also my salad greens wilted because I waited too long to serve.
Not bad, but I wasn’t wowed. The paprika on the shrimp was subtle and the salad feels kind of plain without something creamy. Next time I’ll add avocado or feta.
I did not understand the part where you said to whisk the dressing. Is it really that important?
Whisking helps mix the ingredients evenly, so it’s pretty important! Gives the dressing a better texture too.
I substituted the shrimp for chicken and it still tasted great! Creative twist!
Yummm!!! This is going in my regular rotation! Easy to make and fresh. 😍
This salad is sooo good! The shrimp were perfect, and the dressing is on point. Definitely a summer hit! 🍤🥗
The shrimp took longer to grill than you said. I think I let them on for 5 minutes each side. They turned out great though!
Yummm! Just made it for lunch and it’s delish! Will be making again!
This salad is a masterpiece 🤩. So light yet filling. Perfect for summer!
Totally agree! This salad is fire! 🔥 Can’t wait to make it this weekend!
Really bright and fresh! I didn’t have fresh dill so I used dried—still tasted great, but fresh would be next level. Shrimp cooked perfectly at 2–3 minutes.
This salad is delicious! The shrimp were perfectly grilled and paired nicely with the fresh veggies.
Sounds amazing! I love shrimp in salads! Can’t wait to try this recipe.
I don’t eat shrimp, but I made this with chicken instead. It turned out amazing! Who knew adjustments could be so delicious? 4 stars!
It was okay, but I felt like it needed more seasoning. Maybe some feta cheese would help? Just sayin’.
I think you’re onto something! Feta would add a nice kick! 😋
Grillin shrimp is just a waste of shrimp. Fry them in butter instead.
Frying shrimp does sound tasty, but grilling gives it that smoky flavor! Try it before judging.
Did you know shrimp can be high in cholesterol? Not sure if this is a healthy option, just saying!
This is the best shrimp salad I’ve ever tried! The flavors are amazing. Definitely a 5!
Really? I’ve made shrimp salads before, but they didn’t turn out this good. I might need to try your version!
I totally agree! This shrimp salad really hits the spot, especially on a hot day. So fresh and yummy!
1 pound shrimp and only 2 tbsp lemon juice? My dressing was pretty tangy though, so maybe I measured wrong. Anyway, decent and quick meal.
I feel you—2 tbsp lemon juice sounds low for 1 lb shrimp, but if your shrimp tasted tangy then you probably nailed it (or your lemons were extra strong). The combo with all the fresh herbs helps a lot too. Quick and solid!
Good flavor but mine were a bit overcooked. I think my grill runs hot. Also, I might cut the salt slightly because the shrimp seasoning + dressing felt like a lot.
Pretty good! The dressing is simple but it really ties everything together. Next time I’ll mince the garlic finer—mine tasted slightly strong.
Shrimp didn’t taste like anything and I forgot to put the dressing. So boring. 1 star for me.
1 star? That’s harsh! You forgot the dressing, dude! 😂
Maybe try adding more spices next time? Shrimp needs flavor!
Could I use frozen shrimp? All I have is a bag in my freezer and I dunno if that works.
This was super fresh and the shrimp seasoning tasted like it had a little smokiness from the grill. I used the exact timing and they came out juicy—great summer meal.
This recipe looks great! Simple and healthy. Can’t wait to try it.
OMG, this recipe is so fresh and tasty!!! I’m gonna make it again and again!
Too much lemon juice for my taste. I guess I prefer a milder flavor.
This salad was amazing! The shrimp were grilled to perfection, and the dressing was so flavorful. Definitely a keeper!
Bruh, do people really eat salads? Where’s the meat? This recipe ain’t filling!
I liked the flavor balance, but 2-3 minutes per side felt a bit fast on my grill—mine got a tad overcooked. Next time I’ll start checking earlier.
I don’t know about grilling shrimp, seems too complicated. Just boil them!
Grilling shrimp isn’t hard at all! Just gives a better flavor than boiling. You should try it!
What is paprika? I just put normal spices on everything. Came out fine tho.
This salad was delicious! The shrimp were perfectly grilled and the flavors mixed so well. Definitely a 5 out of 5 from me!
I totally agree! This salad was a hit at my BBQ. The shrimp were super juicy! 🍤
Easy to make and delicious! 10/10 would make again.
Too much garlic for me. Next time I will use less. But the concept is good.
Too much garlic? Really? I don’t think there’s such a thing. The more the merrier, I say!
I think garlic is great! But I get it, not everyone likes strong flavors. Just adjust it to your taste next time.
I’m skeptical about the 2–3 minutes per side—shrimp usually goes from perfect to rubbery fast. Mine overcooked a bit, but flavor was decent.
Too much green stuff, very small shrimps. 😒
I am not a seafood person, but I tried this for my husband. He loved it! I still think shrimp are gross, tho.
Grilled shrimp is life! So good, I could eat this every day.
Too many greens for my taste. Not sure you need all that parsley. Just a bunch of leaves, ugh. I give it a 2.
I think the greens add freshness and flavor! But to each their own. Just use less parsley next time! 🌱
Is the parsley really necessary? I don’t have any and not gonna buy it just for this.
You can totally skip the parsley! It adds some flavor, but the dish will still be good without it. Just make sure to adjust the seasoning a bit if you want!
Yum! Just what I needed for a summer meal. Will make again!
I dunno, my shrimp got kinda chewy. Maybe I grilled them too long? I thought the recipe was okay but I expected better. Gonna give it a 3.
yum!! shrimp salad!!! 🦐🥗
The dressing is honestly the star. Lemon + olive oil with herbs on top made it taste restaurant-y. I’ll make this again for sure.
Totally agree—lemon + olive oil really makes the whole salad pop. The herbs on top are a great touch. Definitely adding this to my “make again” list too!
This is healthy-ish, which I like. But 8 cups greens is like… SO much salad 😅 Still, it’s a good way to use up cucumbers and herbs.
Yeah 8 cups is a LOT 😅 I usually cut that in half and it still tastes great. Love that it’s a cucumber/herb situation though—so fresh!
I can’t even with this recipe. Grilling the shrimp? It just doesn’t sound right to me. What’s wrong with pan frying?
Nah, grilling is the way to go! It’s healthier and tastes better than frying. Just try it, you’ll see!
I totally get what you mean! Pan frying is like a classic way to cook shrimp, but grilling adds a nice smoky flavor. Maybe give it a try? You might be surprised!
This salad is okay, but I think it needs more flavor. I added avocado and it was better.
More flavor? Are you sure you followed the recipe? The seasoning sounds fine to me.
I totally agree! Adding avocado sounds great. I usually throw in some feta cheese too for an extra kick!
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical about how much dill goes in—2 kinds of fresh herbs sounds like it might be too much. But it actually worked and didn’t overpower.
Yum! I’m making this for my BBQ party next weekend! Can’t wait!
I’ve never cooked shrimp before, but this was easy! My kids even liked it! A bit too much oil for my taste, though.
Grilled shrimp? I thought shrimp were better in pasta. Not a fan of salads. 😒
I messed up step 3… I didn’t thread them right and they fell apart a little. Flavor was still good though. Would recommend skewering carefully.
I tried making this but forgot the dill. It was still okay, but I feel like I missed something important. Maybe I’ll try again. 3 stars.
I didn’t have shrimp, so I used chicken instead. Still turned out great!
Idk i felt like it needed more sauce?? also my dill was kinda old so it tasted weird. shrimp was still tasty though.
Yeah I get that—this dressing is pretty light. I usually add an extra splash of lemon or olive oil and it makes the whole salad taste more “saucy.” Also old dill can totally throw it off.
Maybe your dill was the problem (old herbs taste funky). But I’d also try mincing garlic fresher and not overgrilling the shrimp—2-3 mins each side can go fast on a hot grill. Still tho, glad it was tasty!
Awesome recipe! The shrimp were perfectly grilled. My family loved it!
This was super fresh and the paprika on the shrimp is such a nice touch. I grilled a little longer than 3 minutes because my grill runs hot, but it was still juicy.
So glad it stayed juicy even with a hotter grill! I’ve definitely had that happen too—2-3 minutes can vary a lot. Thanks for sharing your timing!
Not bad at all. I used frozen shrimp thawed and patted dry (important). Salad was crunchy. Would eat again.
So good! Just make sure to not overcook the shrimp. They were juicy and flavorful. Going into my regular meal rotation!
I don’t get the garlic measurement—1 clove seems tiny for that much shrimp. I doubled it and it was better. Might be why mine tasted mild at first.
