Glazed roast chicken is a dish that combines crispy, golden-brown skin with a rich, flavorful glaze that gives every bite a perfect balance of sweetness and savory goodness. This simple yet delicious recipe is a great option for a family dinner, a special occasion, or even a holiday meal. The glaze adds an irresistible layer of flavor, while the roasting process keeps the chicken tender and juicy on the inside.
The magic of this dish lies in the glaze. A combination of honey, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and a touch of garlic creates a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors that coat the chicken beautifully as it roasts. As the chicken cooks, the glaze caramelizes, forming a shiny, flavorful coating that is both crispy and sticky at the same time. The sweetness of the honey complements the richness of the chicken, while the mustard adds a subtle tanginess, and the soy sauce brings a savory depth that ties everything together.
Before roasting, the chicken is seasoned with salt, pepper, and any additional herbs you prefer, such as thyme, rosemary, or garlic. These herbs not only enhance the flavor of the chicken but also infuse the meat with aromatic notes during the cooking process. Once seasoned, the chicken is placed in the oven, where it slowly roasts to perfection, with the skin becoming golden and crisp while the meat stays juicy and tender.
The result is a beautifully roasted chicken with a crispy exterior and tender meat that is bursting with flavor. The glaze forms a delicious crust that enhances each bite, making this dish a comforting and satisfying meal. Served with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a simple salad, glazed roast chicken is an easy yet impressive dish that never fails to delight. Whether you’re cooking for a crowd or a small family dinner, this recipe is sure to be a favorite.

I followed the recipe exactly but my chicken came out kinda dry. Maybe I cooked it too long? Not great.
This was the best chicken I’ve ever made! The glaze was amazing! I added some ginger for a kick and it turned out so good.
Is soy sauce really necessary? I hate that stuff. I think I’ll skip it next time. ⭐⭐
Eh, I’d rather just grill it. Roasting takes so long. Plus, they say grilled tastes better.
Is honey really a good glaze for chicken? I thought it would be weird but surprisingly good! ⭐⭐⭐
Glazed chicken is so overrated! Shouldn’t have to glaze everything. Just fry it instead, tastes better! 😒
Not gonna lie, the soy + honey thing sounded weird to me, but it’s actually delicious. I served it with rice and now everyone’s asking for the recipe.
This was fantastic! My whole family loved it. Super easy to make!
I tried this recipe, but it didn’t taste like anything special. Honey and soy sauce? Really? A little bland for my taste. ⭐⭐⭐
I loved this recipe! The honey and soy sauce combo was perfect for me. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Honestly, I thought it was okay too. Maybe try adding more spices next time? Just too simple for my liking. ⭐⭐
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about honey + soy, but it worked. Next time I’ll add a tiny bit of chili for heat.
Oh man, the honey garlic sauce is amazing! Definitely doing this again! 🐔❤️
WOW! Perfect chicken, my family loved it! So easy to make too! 😍
Is it necessary to rest the chicken? Sounds weird, but I guess it helps??
I wasn’t sure about the honey and soy sauce combo, but it turned out great. My family loved it!
I followed the recipe exactly, but mine was a bit dry. Maybe cook for less time?
The recipe is straightforward, but my glaze got a little too thick when I brushed it repeatedly. I might thin it next time with a splash of water or extra lemon.
Glazed roast chicken? More like glazed roast disaster! Didn’t turn out. 🙁
Glazed chicken? Sounds weird but it was delish! I served it with mashed potatoes. Best combo ever! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
OMG this chicken was amazing!!! Me and my family loved it so much! Thank you for sharing!
I’m so glad you loved it! It’s one of my family’s favorites too!
This was so delicious! My whole family loved it! Even my picky little brother!
I’m not sure about basting with the remaining glaze… couldn’t I just brush it once and call it? Also 1 hour 30 min at 375 feels short for a 4 lb chicken unless the pieces are small.
375 for 1h30 for a 4 lb chicken feels kinda fast to me… unless it’s broken down pieces or very small chicken. I’d trust the internal temp more than the clock—165°F in the thickest part, juices run clear. Also glaze will burn if you go too heavy at high heat, so watch the color.
I think you *can* brush it once, but basting/extra glaze helps the flavor build and keeps the surface from drying out. If you’re in a hurry, just do a heavier first coat and maybe spoon a little drippings over once near the end.
This was the best roast chicken I’ve ever made! The glaze gives it such a nice flavor. My family devoured it!
What if I use maple syrup instead of honey? Would that ruin it or what?
I think maple syrup would work fine! It might give it a different kinda sweetness, but that could be a good thing. Give it a shot!
Nah, I wouldn’t try it. Honey has a unique flavor that maple syrup can’t replace. It might ruin the whole dish for ya.
Can I use chicken thighs instead? Whole chickens are too much work for me. Lol.
But isn’t it like a totally different recipe? I mean, whole chicken and thighs are not the same. Are you sure it’s gonna work out?
Absolutely! Chicken thighs will be way easier and still taste great! Just adjust the cooking time since they cook quicker than a whole chicken. Enjoy!
Meh, tasted too sweet to me. Maybe less honey next time.
This roast chicken is life-changing! The glaze makes it so juicy and flavorful. I’m never going back to plain chicken again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was delicious! The glaze really made the chicken shine. Will definitely make again!
I don’t know, it was okay, but I’ve had better chicken. The honey made it too sweet for my taste.
Easy recipe, but mine came out a bit dry. Maybe I left it too long in the oven? 🤔
I’m skeptical about the honey/soy ratio. Mine tasted a little too salty even though I used low sodium soy sauce. Could be my lemon was small? But the chicken was moist.
I ain’t got a whole chicken, can I just use parts instead? Can’t wait to try this one!
Yeah, you can totally use chicken parts! Just adjust the cooking time. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Are you sure that will taste the same? Whole chicken has its own flavor. Parts might not come out right.
Lol I burned it! Wasn’t paying attention. It’s still edible tho 😂
Roasting a whole chicken is too complicated for me. I prefer chicken nuggets. 😬
Made this tonight and wow—sticky-sweet glaze with that lemon/garlic kick. I basted every 15 minutes and it came out beautifully golden.
That sounds amazing—sticky-sweet glaze is the way to go. I’m curious: did you find the honey/soy combo browns too fast or stayed nice through the whole cook?
I’m not a chef, but even I could handle this! The glaze is very sticky though, watch your hands! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It taste bomb! best one I made for my party. I used teriyaki sauce instead of soy, it was soooo gud!
I accidentally used regular soy sauce (not low sodium) and it turned out saltier than I expected. If you’re careful with salt, it’s a great base recipe.
yummy!! 😋
I used low sodium soy sauce but forgot the garlic. Still good!
I found this recipe easy but not the greatest. Maybe I expected too much? ⭐⭐⭐
I followed it exactly and my glaze turned out kinda thick and darker than I expected. Maybe my honey was older? Flavor was good though—crispy skin, great smell while roasting.
Why do you need to baste it? Seems like a waste of time. Just roast it! What’s the point?
Tasted great but could use a little more seasoning for my taste. Maybe add some herbs?
More seasoning? How can you say that? This recipe is perfect as is! Maybe you’re just not used to it!
I totally agree! It definitely needs more flavor. I added thyme and rosemary, and it was bomb!
I don’t know if I used the wrong chicken or what, but mine wasn’t cooked through after 1 hr 30. I had to roast longer. Still tasted great once it finished.
Seems simple enough, but my chicken turned out dry. I must’ve overcooked it. 😔
This chicken turned out amazing! The glaze was finger-licking good. Will definitely make it again.
How much honey? The recipe doesn’t say! Put 2 cups and ruined it.
My family loved it! I added some rosemary from my garden, and it was amazing! Thanks for the recipe! Yay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I dunno, my chicken took longer to cook. Maybe my oven is messed up? Was really looking forward to this. Sorry! ⭐⭐
I used a different sauce and it still came out great. This recipe is flexible!
Did you really think a different sauce would work? The original is perfect. I don’t know about this flexible stuff.
I love when recipes are flexible! It’s great to customize based on what you have at home. Glad it worked out for you!
This glaze is a game changer. The honey/soy/lemon combo makes the skin so glossy and the flavor is super balanced. Mine took closer to 1 hr 45, but it was still perfectly juicy.
Super easy to make and turned out perfect! The instructions were clear. Gonna make this again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tried this recipe but my chicken came out too salty. Maybe I used too much soy sauce?
You might’ve put too much soy sauce for sure. Try the low sodium version next time, it really helps!
Yummy!! My kids loved it! Easy recipe to follow.
Delicious! Definitely a keeper. The glaze was sweet but not overwhelming. Will make again!
Sweet but not overwhelming? I might like that, but what if it turns out too sweet? 🤔
I’m so glad you liked it! The glaze really does make a difference, right?
I’ve never cooked a whole chicken before. Is it really necessary to baste it? Seems like a lot of work for chicken.
This was a hit at my family dinner! The glaze made the chicken super juicy and flavorful. Definitely making it again!
I tried brushing the glaze a couple times like the instructions, and it got a really pretty color. My only complaint is it was a little too sweet for my taste—next time I’ll reduce the honey slightly.
Is 375 too high? My chicken burnt on the outside but raw inside. Confused.
I think I used too much soy sauce. I’m not a fan of overly salty food. Next time, I’ll cut it down a bit.
I didn’t have garlic, but it still turned out ok. Just a bit bland without it, I guess.
Good recipe, but my oven is weird… took 2 hours to cook! Why’s that?
I tried this recipe but it didn’t turn out. The glaze was too sweet for my taste.
I’m sorry to hear that! You might want to adjust the honey next time. It’s really all about balancing flavors. I loved it!
This recipe is amazing! The chicken turned out super juicy and the glaze was finger-lickin’ good!
Y’all, I don’t even eat chicken much, but this recipe got me hooked! So simple and tasty! 🐔❤️
My oven is too small and the chicken wouldn’t fit. Had to cut it in half.
Yum! Gonna make this for Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks!
That sounds great! I would love to try this recipe. Good luck!
Not what I was expecting. The soy sauce was too strong. Won’t try again.
I followed everything and it turned out dry 😕. I’m wondering if my oven runs hot or if I didn’t baste enough. The glaze tasted great at least!
This was the best chicken I’ve ever made! So juicy and flavorful. I can’t believe how easy it was!
Chicken glaze heaven, folks! Never thought honey and soy would work, but they do! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I agree! That glaze is magic. Can’t believe I never tried it before. Thanks for sharing! 😊
I didn’t have fresh garlic, so I used garlic powder. It was ok, but definitely not as good.
I followed the recipe, but my chicken came out kinda dry. Maybe I cooked it too long? 😕
Maybe try cooking it for less time next time? Always watch the clock!
I think it could be the oven temp too… sometimes they can be off. My chicken’s always juicy!
Honestly, not a fan of the honey-soy combo. It was way too sweet for me. 🙁
meh. mine got burned on the outside before the inside was done 😬 maybe my oven runs hot. also i forgot to rest it 10 min (oops).
lol what kind of chicken is this? looks fancy but seems easy!
Honestly, the glaze smelled amazing while it cooked. I did forget to baste once (oops), but it still came out golden and flavorful. Would make again for sure.
OMG. I followed it almost exactly. The garlic flavor came through and it smelled amazing. My family asked for seconds and nobody complained for once 😄
This is the best kind of comment 😄 Garlic really is the magic with that glaze—glad it worked out for you!
Five stars. Lemon + garlic in a glaze is my kind of magic. My family devoured it, like zero leftovers.
Super easy to make! My family loved it. I added some rosemary for flavor. 10/10!
Is the honey really that important? I forgot to put it in and still turned out fine. Kind of like a plain roast chicken.
Followed directions exactly, but my glaze got too thick and started caramelizing fast. Still tasty though. Maybe use a little less basting/brush later?
This is exactly like how my grandma used to make it! So nostalgic, love it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Was a bit skeptical at first, but the glaze is really something! I added some ginger for extra kick! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It’s just chicken, who cares? Why do so many people rave about it?
Can someone tell me if frozen chicken works? I just want to save some time here!
Frozen chicken works just fine! Just make sure to thaw it properly before cooking. It can save you a lot of time. Enjoy your meal!
Pretty tasty, but 375°F felt a little low for a 4 lb bird. I think I should’ve roasted longer or bumped the temp. Still, the skin was nice and sticky.
Thanks! I get what you mean—375°F can feel slow for a 4 lb bird. I’ve found it depends a lot on how cold the chicken starts and whether the oven runs true. Next time, you can check at 75–90 minutes for browning and just keep going until the juices run clear (or the thickest part hits temp).
I tried this recipe, but the chicken took way too long to cook. Maybe my oven is broken?
1 hour and 30 mins??? For a whole chicken that’s wild lol. But I guess ovens vary—mine definitely took longer. Sauce was good regardless.
Uh, I think soy sauce is too salty for chicken. I didn’t like it much. ⭐
I dunno, but I always thought soy sauce is supposed to be salty! Just rinse the chicken before glazing next time or use some other sauce, like BBQ.
I actually love the saltiness of soy sauce! It balances well with the sweetness of honey. Maybe try using less next time?
Best chicken ever!!!! I’ve made this twice already.
Soooo goood!! Took forever to cook though. Maybe coz my oven is old? 😅
I liked it a lot, but I think 375°F might be a tiny bit slow for a 4-lb bird. Next time I’ll check internal temp earlier. Still came out golden and tasty.
This chicken was so yummy! The glaze made it sweet and savory, just how I like it. Will make again for sure!
Just tried this and it was too sweet for my tastes. I think I’ll skip the honey next time.
I totally understand! Honey can be really overpowering sometimes. Maybe try using less or a different sweetener next time?
Not gonna lie, I messed up step 2 and only whisked half the glaze. Even then it tasted good. I guess that’s a compliment? Gonna do it right next time.
Wait, I’m confused—step 2 says mix the glaze, but you whisked half? Still, honey + soy + lemon usually works. Maybe bake time would be different if the glaze isn’t enough? But glad it turned out good.
Haha yes—still a compliment! Half a glaze but still tasted good means your flavors are spot on. Next time just make sure the whole chicken gets that sweet-savory coating. 😄
Not bad, but the soy + honey made it a bit salty/sweet for my family. Next time I’ll use less salt or swap to low-sodium soy like you said. Also, basting is kind of a pain.
I followed it exactly and it turned out good, not amazing. Flavor was nice though—like sweet-salty with a lemony kick. Would make again.
That “sweet-salty with a lemony kick” description is exactly what I was hoping for—glad it turned out good for you! Did you baste the full time or mostly at the start/end?
I tried this once but mine came out a lil too sweet, like honey overpowered everything. Next time I’m gonna cut the honey or add more pepper—also my glaze got kinda thick, so I added a splash of water. Still edible tho 😅
This chicken was amazing! The glaze was just perfect. My family loved it!
Glaze is too runny, didn’t stick well. anyone else have this issue?
I don’t get why everyone loves this recipe… it was just okay for me. Chicken was a bit dry, and I think it needed more seasoning.
are u sure u followed the recipe? i tried it and it was yummy. maybe u just need more practice?
I totally get it! Sometimes the chicken does come out a bit dry if not cooked right. Maybe try brining it next time for more moisture?
I tried this recipe but accidentally doubled the salt… yikes! Totally ruined it. Gonna try again though. ⭐⭐
Isn’t 1 hour and 30 mins kinda long for chicken? I usually do it faster! 🤔
I’m skeptical of the honey + soy thing, but wow. It caramelized beautifully. Next time I might add a pinch of chili flakes for a little kick.
This recipe was amazing! The chicken turned out perfectly, so juicy and flavorful! Will definitely make again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yum!
Super easy and the whole house smelled amazing. I rested it 10 minutes like it said—juicy and not watery.
Yes!! The resting tip is key—I’ve had chicken turn watery when I rush it. Mine came out super juicy too. I also brushed on extra glaze near the end for that nice shine.
I tried this but my glaze got kinda thick like caramel and started to burn a little. Maybe my oven runs hot? Still tasted good though. Next time I’ll baste more often and maybe tent with foil.
Where do I find low sodium soy sauce? Is it at all grocery stores? 🤔
You can usually find low sodium soy sauce in most grocery stores, but check the Asian aisle. Good luck! 😊
Not sure, but I’ve looked everywhere for it and couldn’t find any! Maybe check online? 🤷♂️
Glazed chicken? Sounds fancy. I’m just trying to not burn it lol.
Wow, who knew honey and soy sauce would work so well together? I added some ginger too and it was amazing! 10/10
I tried it too! The honey and soy sauce combo is out of this world! Didn’t think it would taste so good!
This is a good weeknight roast. I don’t usually measure lemon juice exactly and it still works. Resting 10 minutes helps a ton so don’t skip it.
Honestly, I was skeptical about honey + soy on chicken, but wow. My family asked for seconds. Resting for 10 minutes really helped so it didn’t dry out.
I dunno… honey with soy feels like an odd mix. Like is it more sweet or more salty? I might cut the honey in half next time. But hey if it got seconds from your family, maybe I’m wrong 😅
Same! I always thought honey + soy would turn out weirdly sweet, but your results sound legit. Also the 10-minute rest tip makes so much sense—my chicken used to dry out when I cut it too soon. Gonna try this exactly.
I dunno about the honey and soy sauce combo. Sounds weird. 🤨
I don’t have an oven. Can this be made in a slow cooker instead?
Yeah, I think you could definitely try it in a slow cooker! Just might take longer and you won’t get that crispy skin, but it should cook through well.
Looks good but not sure about soy sauce with honey. Sounds a bit weird. Will think about it.
I don’t have honey, can I use sugar instead? Will it work the same? Asking for a friend.
Wow this looks delicious! Can’t wait to try it.
Thanks! It’s super easy to make, hope you enjoy it!
Simple but good! I messed up the glaze but still turned out good. 😉
Easy to make! It was a hit at dinner last night! Everyone wants the recipe now.
Yum! But I added some chili powder for that extra kick. Would recommend!
Pretty good overall, but my glaze got pretty thick and started to darken fast toward the end. Next time I’ll warm it slightly or brush it later—still delicious though.
Oh nice—yeah that happens to honey glazes. I’ve found warming it just a bit (or thinning with a tsp of water/lemon) helps it stay brushable longer. Also, glazing closer to the end works great—thanks for the tip!
Maybe you cooked it too hot? 375 should be fine but honey does burn easy. Next time I’d use less honey or add the garlic later—garlic can darken fast. Still glad it tasted good though.
Easy to follow but mine burnt a bit on the edges. Maybe my oven’s too hot? ⭐⭐⭐
Sounds like your oven might be a bit off! Maybe check the temperature with an oven thermometer next time. Good luck! 😊
The flavor is really good, but I think 1.5 hours was a little long for my 3.5 lb chicken. I started checking earlier and it saved me from drying it out.
Totally agree—1.5 hours can be too long for a smaller bird. I’m glad you checked early and didn’t dry it out!
Just put it in the oven, waiting now! Hope it works out! 😬
Glazing a chicken? What will they think of next? Seems like a lotta work for just a chicken…
I think glazing adds flavor! Not too much work for a tasty dinner. 😋
Made this last night—SO sticky and golden. The lemon + garlic really cuts the sweetness of the honey. I basted a little more than the recipe says and it came out perfect.
So I made it and forgot the garlic. Honestly, it was still good. Just saying, sometimes you can skip stuff.
I’m skeptical of honey on chicken, but wow. The soy sauce makes it taste kinda like takeout. Next time I’ll add a pinch of chili flakes for extra kick.
The flavor is good, but I think 1h30 might be a bit short for my 4.5 lb chicken. I ended up roasting a little longer and it was perfect—just keep an eye on the internal temp.
Made this last night—so good. The glaze caramelized beautifully and the lemon/garlic combo really keeps it from tasting too sweet. Mine needed closer to 1 hr 40 min but that might be my oven.
Super easy and the glaze actually caramelized nicely. I forgot to mince the garlic super fine, but it still tasted great. Will use low-sodium soy again though.
Yes!! Mine caramelized too when I basting more often—love that sticky-sweet color. Glad you still nailed it even with the garlic. 😄
375° only for 1.5 hours? i always worry it wont be done. also i thought honey burns fast—maybe thats why you watch it? gonna try but i might use a lot less soy.
Why does the recipe say 375°F? I always roast chicken at 425°F and it’s way quicker. This tasted fine but felt kinda slow.
425°F is great for speed, but 375°F helps the chicken cook more gently so the glaze doesn’t burn. Honey + soy can caramelize fast at higher temps.
Ok this is tasty but mine kinda burned the honey at the end. Maybe my oven is too aggressive—next time I’ll cover with foil for the last part.
This came out so glossy and sweet-salty. I basted a bit more than the recipe said and the skin was perfectly golden. Lemon + garlic really keeps it from tasting too “sticky”.
Wow, that sounds perfect! I’ve been worried honey + soy would turn too cloying, but your note about the lemon/garlic makes total sense. I’ll try basting a little more next time.
Not gonna lie, I overcooked mine because I trusted the “1 hour and 30 minutes” like it was always exact. Still good, just drier. The glaze saved it though.
Way too much time to cook! I need quicker recipes! ⭐⭐
Wow, this looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out this weekend!
This was super easy. I appreciate recipes that don’t require a million ingredients. The chicken stayed moist and the glaze made it look restaurant-y.
I didn’t rest it long enough (like… 3 minutes). Still tasty, but the juices ran out and it was kinda messy to carve. Lesson learned: rest the bird!
OMG, best chicken ever! My kids ate it all up! Thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
That’s awesome to hear! Glad your kids loved it. 😍
Tried this tonight—so good! The honey-soy glaze is sweet but not cloying, and the garlic + lemon combo really brightens it. Mine needed like 15 more minutes since my chicken was a bit bigger, but still juicy.
The measurements are simple, but I’d advise using a meat thermometer. 1h30 at 4 pounds was slightly under for my oven—mine needed a few more minutes.
Simple and delicious. I like that it’s not overly complicated, and the ingredients are things most people have. Will definitely repeat.
I made this last night—my kitchen smelled amazing. The honey-soy-lemon glaze is such a great combo, and the chicken came out juicy with crispy skin. Definitely adding this to my rotation.
meh. i think 375 is too low for getting crispy skin and the glaze is kinda sticky. i would rather do a butter herb roast instead.
Made this last night and it was sooo good. The glaze got that sticky-golden shine and the lemon/garlic combo isn’t too overpowering. I basted a little more than the recipe said and it still came out perfect.
Love hearing this! That sticky-golden glaze is the best part 😄 Glad the lemon/garlic balance worked for you—basting extra is always a win.
Really good, but I’d watch the basting near the end. My glaze started to get too dark after about 75 minutes, so I tented with foil and finished cooking—still delicious.
Way too salty with my brand of soy sauce. I know it says low sodium, but I didn’t check carefully. Otherwise the flavor combo is nice.
My family says this is like restaurant chicken. I’m keeping it. Also—glaze on the skin is the best part. Period.
Meh. It tasted sweet-first to me, like too much honey. The lemon helped, but I think I’d cut the honey in half next time or use a darker soy.
Followed the instructions exactly and the chicken was juicy. The only change I’d make is double the garlic—2 cloves feels a bit timid.
I used low-sodium soy and regular honey—came out great. The garlic flavor was strong in a good way, and the resting time actually mattered!
I followed it and my chicken came out kinda pale, like not golden. Maybe I didn’t brush enough or my honey was old? Flavor was ok though.
Followed the recipe pretty closely. Flavor was solid, but my skin didn’t get as crispy as I wanted. Maybe my oven runs cool or I basted too often? Still tasty though.
5 stars? I mean it’s okay, but where’s the veggie??
Pretty tasty, but next time I’ll reduce the soy sauce a touch—mine tasted a bit salty even though it’s low sodium. Still, the chicken stayed juicy and the honey glaze caramelized nicely.
Meh. Honey + soy on chicken just sounds wrong to me. Would rather use a BBQ rub. Also 10 minutes rest… doesn’t feel like enough.
Best roast chicken i ever made. Like, no joke. Everyone asked for the recipe—i told them it’s the honey glaze magic.
5 stars because it looks pretty and the family ate everything. Also, I didn’t mince the garlic super fine and it was still yummy. 😅
It turned out kinda sweet for my family 😅. I used regular soy sauce by mistake (oops), so that probably didn’t help. Still tender though.
