Dixie Pie is a beloved Southern dessert known for its rich filling and buttery crust. But what happens when you pair this sweet treat with savory Sloppy Joe sauce and crispy fries? You get a fun and indulgent meal that combines the best of both worlds – sweet and savory, hearty and comforting.
Sloppy Joe sauce brings a savory punch to the dish. Made with ground beef, onions, tomatoes, and spices like garlic and paprika, the sauce is hearty and satisfying. It’s rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of tanginess and sweetness, which contrasts beautifully with the richness of the Dixie Pie. When spooned over the Dixie pie or served alongside it, the Sloppy Joe sauce adds an unexpected kick that elevates the sweetness of the dessert in a surprising way.
To round out this indulgent meal, add a side of crispy fries. The fries provide the perfect crunchy contrast to the softness of the pie and the sauciness of the Sloppy Joe topping. You can opt for classic golden fries or seasoned ones for a little extra flavor. Either way, they make the meal complete and add an extra layer of satisfaction.
Dixie Pie with Sloppy Joe sauce is not your typical meal, but it’s a fun and exciting way to mix two comfort food favorites. Perfect for those who enjoy sweet and savory combinations, this dish offers a little bit of everything – comfort, creativity, and bold flavor in every bite.

This recipe is a lifesaver! Quick and easy for busy nights. Love it! 😍
What kinda pie is this? Ain’t no crust! Just meat and fries! LOL
Why would you use frozen fries? Fresh would be way better. 🤔
I think frozen fries are just so much easier and still taste good! Who has time to cut fresh ones all the time?
Great idea, but I’m just wondering if I can use chicken instead of beef? I’ve got some leftover roasted chicken.
Do I need to cook the beef first??? I’m confused.
Sounds good, but not sure about the fries in a pie… is that really a thing?
Not a fan of Sloppy Joe sauce, do they have alternatives? 🤔
This was surprisingly good! The fries were the perfect topping!
This doesn’t seem like a pie! More like a casserole with fries. But it’s still tasty.
Not worth the hype! My pie fell apart and tasted bland. Never making this again.
My kids loved it! Easy to make and they didn’t even complain about the veggies! 👍
So easy to make! My kids loved it! Will definitely be making it again. 😊
Really? I found it a bit bland. Maybe I should add more spices next time?
That’s awesome! Happy to hear your kids enjoyed it. This recipe is a hit for families! 🍽️
No way I’m using Sloppy Joe sauce! I’ll stick with good ol’ tomato sauce. 😠
I get it, but Sloppy Joe sauce adds a unique flavor! Give it a try before saying no. 😊
Is it really a pie if there’s no crust? Feels like a casserole to me. Just saying.
Yummy! 😋
Made this for dinner and it was a hit! Will definitely make again!
Wow, this reminds me of my grandma’s recipe! Sure brings back memories. 🥰
I didn’t have frozen fries, so I used fresh ones, and it was fine. But how do I make it pie-like?
5 stars!!! This has become a family favorite. I’ll be making it weekly! 👍🏼
I don’t know… using frozen fries seems kinda lazy. Can I use real potatoes instead?
This was a hit at our family dinner! So easy to make and everyone loved it!
Ain’t nobody got time for this. Just call it Sloppy Joe Fries, lol.
Super quick during a busy week. Even my picky husband ate it without complaints.
Glad to hear your husband enjoyed it! My kids are super picky too, so I might just give this a try!
Yum! My kids gobbled it up. Easy dinner for the win! I added some cheese on top because why not?
Really? This doesn’t look too healthy for kids. Too much meat and fries!
That’s awesome! Cheese makes everything better. What kind did you use?
I made this but used chicken instead of beef. Still turned out yummy! 😋
Wasn’t that great. The flavors didn’t mix well, and I think it needs more spices.
Just made it, but my oven must be broken. The fries didn’t cook right! Disappointing.
Easy to make but it looked a mess. Taste was okay, I guess.
Fries and beef? YES PLEASE! Making this again for the weekend BBQ! 😋
Sounds delicious! I love adding more cheese on top for extra flavor. Enjoy your BBQ! 🧀
Dixie Pie? Sounds weird but tasted good. My grandma would be proud.
I’ve never made anything like this! Do you think I could use tater tots instead of fries?
Not sure about this one. Sloppy Joe sauce and fries? Sounds kinda weird to me.
Dixie Pie? More like Fixin’ to eat! This is a winner in our house. Thanks for sharing!
I dunno about the people loving this. Seems like a cheap way to make a dinner. Like, why not just stick to real pie?
I tried this and it was just too much going on. The flavors didn’t blend well for me. Very disappointing.
Eh, it was ok. I expected more flavor from the Sloppy Joe sauce. Might try adding some spices next time.
This dosent look like pie. More like some beef with fries. Haha. 🤷♂️
Y’all, this is a quick meal for a busy weeknight! Made it last night and it was a hit!
Totally gross! How is this considered food? I wouldn’t serve it to my dog.
I actually love Dixie Pie! It’s a comfort food classic! Don’t knock it till you try it. 😋
This sounds like a weird combo. Who even puts fries in a pie? 🤨
Not bad, but I think it could use some garlic or cheese for extra flavor.
Garlic? Really? Seems kinda weird for a pie. But hey, if you like it, go for it!
I totally agree! Garlic makes everything better, especially in beef dishes. I’ll have to try adding it next time.
Seems like a good idea but where’s the veggies? I’d add more then just pepper.
This is so good! I added cheese on top and it was amazing. Thank you!
Tastes so good! Added cheese on top, and it was a hit with the kids!
Yea, but isn’t that a bit unhealthy? I prefer to keep it simple without adding too much junk. Just me, I guess.
Cheese on top? That’s a great idea! I’d never thought about it. My kids are picky eaters, so I might try that next time.
Recipe seems pretty simple, but it wasn’t filling at all. Disappointed.
I totally get that! I’ve made it too and it wasn’t as hearty as I hoped. Maybe add some beans for extra fillingness next time?
Uhm, I thought it was pretty good. Just eat more of it, man! 😂
This looks interesting! Can’t wait to try it out! I love anything with beef and fries!
Oh, you’ll love it! The beef and fries combo is unbeatable. Just make sure not to overcook the fries!
I dunno, it felt a bit weird to mix fries with a pie. Didn’t taste like pie to me.
I totally get it! Mixing fries and pie is definitely unusual, but I think it adds a fun twist. I love trying new things!
Must try this for the holidays! A family feast coming up!
This Dixie Pie is a game changer! So easy to make and my kids loved it!
I added cheese on top before baking. Just wow! Made it so much better! 🧀
I don’t get why you would put fries in a pie?? Seems strange 🤔
This was surprisingly good! I never thought fries in a pie would work but it does! My family loved it!
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it for dinner tonight. 😍
Mmmm, this is like a meat lover’s dream. But my kids picked out the veggies lol.
Haha, kids do have their own opinions about veggies! But this pie sounds delicious. I think I’ll sneak some spinach in there next time.
Meat lover’s dream? More like a meat lover’s nightmare if you ask me! No veggies means no nutrients!
Yummy! I used tater tots instead of fries and it came out great!
Yum! My kids loved it. I added some cheese on top and it was a hit!
Glad your kids liked it! Cheese on top sounds delicious! 😋
