Dixie Pie

August 12, 2024

Dixie Pie is a beloved Southern dessert known for its rich filling and buttery crust. But what happens when you pair this sweet treat with savory Sloppy Joe sauce and crispy fries? You get a fun and indulgent meal that combines the best of both worlds – sweet and savory, hearty and comforting.

Sloppy Joe sauce brings a savory punch to the dish. Made with ground beef, onions, tomatoes, and spices like garlic and paprika, the sauce is hearty and satisfying. It’s rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of tanginess and sweetness, which contrasts beautifully with the richness of the Dixie Pie. When spooned over the Dixie pie or served alongside it, the Sloppy Joe sauce adds an unexpected kick that elevates the sweetness of the dessert in a surprising way.

To round out this indulgent meal, add a side of crispy fries. The fries provide the perfect crunchy contrast to the softness of the pie and the sauciness of the Sloppy Joe topping. You can opt for classic golden fries or seasoned ones for a little extra flavor. Either way, they make the meal complete and add an extra layer of satisfaction.

Dixie Pie with Sloppy Joe sauce is not your typical meal, but it’s a fun and exciting way to mix two comfort food favorites. Perfect for those who enjoy sweet and savory combinations, this dish offers a little bit of everything – comfort, creativity, and bold flavor in every bite.

Why would you use frozen fries? Fresh would be way better. 🤔

I think frozen fries are just so much easier and still taste good! Who has time to cut fresh ones all the time?
