Frozen Mango Margarita is the ultimate sun-soaked cocktail that feels like a tropical vacation in a glass. With its bright golden hue, smooth icy texture, and perfect balance of sweet mango and tangy lime, this frozen drink is a warm-weather staple, and it’s easier to make than you might think.
It all starts with ripe mango. You can use fresh mango chunks if you’ve got them, but frozen mango works just as well and saves prep time (plus helps give that frosty texture without watering it down with too much ice). Blend it with freshly squeezed lime juice, a splash of orange liqueur like triple sec or Cointreau, and a generous pour of good tequila, silver or reposado both work, depending on your flavor preference.
What makes the frozen version stand out is its slushy consistency. A handful of ice cubes brings it all together in the blender until it’s thick, smooth, and spoon-worthy. You want something that’s sippable but not too runny, think frozen daiquiri or soft sorbet texture.
The final touch? A salted rim. It’s a simple detail that balances the sweetness of the mango and adds a little sophistication. Just run a lime wedge around the edge of your glass, dip it in flaky salt, and you’ve got a margarita that looks as good as it tastes. Garnish with a slice of lime or a wedge of mango if you’re feeling fancy.
This frozen mango margarita is perfect for poolside lounging, backyard BBQs, taco nights, or any time you want to shake up a fun, fruity cocktail. You can even skip the alcohol and make a mocktail version with orange juice or sparkling water for a refreshing non-alcoholic twist.
Whether you’re celebrating something special or just trying to cool down, this icy cocktail is a guaranteed mood-lifter.

Mango is my fav! 🍹👍 Made it for a party, and everyone loved it! Will def do again.
This is the best margarita I’ve ever made! So refreshing!
Mmm, sounds delicious! I love mangoes. Can’t wait to try this out!
I tried this recipe, but my blender couldn’t handle the ice. Not smooth at all.
Sounds like your blender might be on its last legs! I use a high-powered one for this kind of stuff, and it works like a charm. You could always try letting the ice sit out for a bit to soften it.
Margaritas are always a win! The salt rim is genius! Gonna make again for the weekend!
Yasss! I love margaritas! The salt rim really adds somethin special. Enjoy your weekend!
Didn’t turn out like the pic 😕 maybe I did something wrong??
Seems like too much tequila to me. Can I use vodka instead?
Best drink ever! I made it for a party and everyone loved it! 🍹
This is the best mango margarita I’ve ever made! So refreshing! 🌟
So simple! My friends loved it! Totally gonna make it again for the next party! 🎉
I think I prefer regular margaritas. This one didn’t do it for me.
This was absolutely delicious! The mango flavor just popped! 🤤
I mixed this up with a smoothie recipe… Oops! Still tasted good tho. 😂
This is the best margarita I’ve ever had! Super refreshing! 🌟
Way too sweet for my taste. I would cut down on the syrup next time.
Absolutely loved this recipe! The balance of flavors is perfect and it was super easy to make. Will definitely serve this at my next party!
I’m glad you loved it! This is a go-to for our summer BBQs. It’s such a hit!
I tried this recipe, but it was way too sweet for me. I think 2 tablespoons of syrup is a lot!
So good 😭
Honestly, I don’t understand all the fuss. I didn’t taste the tequila at all 😒.
Never made a margarita before, went for it. Turned out decent!
Why do people use ice cubes in a blender margarita? I did and it watered it down. Also my mango wasn’t that sweet, so I had to dump in extra syrup. Could just be my fruit though.
Ice cubes help chill it fast and give that “frozen” texture, but yeah—if your mango isn’t sweet and you already have less fruit flavor, it can feel watered down. I usually use less ice or blend it longer with plenty of mango.
Maybe you just got not-ripe mango 😅. I’ve never had it watered down much—ice should kinda disappear in the blender. But if you dump a ton of ice and your fruit is bland, you’ll definitely want more syrup. Next time try extra frozen mango instead of more syrup.
OMG this was a hit at my party! Everyone loved it. Will make again!
Looks simple but mangoes are not in season, any subs?
You could try using frozen peaches or pineapple instead. They’ll give a nice tropical twist!
not really a fan of tequila, but this was okay I guess.
This is the best margarita I’ve ever made! So refreshing and easy. Thanks!
Can you use fresh mango? Cuz I don’t have frozen. Thx
Yeah, fresh mango should work fine! Just make sure to freeze it before blending if you want it icy. Enjoy!
I dunno, fresh mango might not give the same texture. Isn’t the whole point to have it cold?
Good recipe but easy to mess up if you don’t measure right. I added too much tequila lol.
I don’t drink alcohol, but this looks yummy! Maybe I’ll try it with soda instead.
I can’t drink alcohol anymore, so I made a mocktail version. Just used mango juice and it was great!
But like, without the tequila it’s just juice, right? Is that really a margarita?
Sounds delicious! I love mango juice. Great idea with the mocktail!
I thought it would be too sweet but it was perfect. I added a bit of jalapeno for kick. 🔥
I never thought about adding jalapeno! That sounds fire!🔥 I’m definitely trying that next time!
Margarita Good!! 👍
Totally agree! These are so refreshing! 🍹
Tried this tonight—so refreshing. The frozen mango really makes it taste like a treat instead of just a basic margarita. Rimming with salt was perfect.
Margarita good! Happy drink! 🍹
Good recipe, but next time I’m using way more lime juice! 🍋
The tequila amount feels off? Like 2 oz tequila + 1 oz triple sec seems strong. I guess that’s why it hits. I enjoyed it, though it’s definitely not a mild drink.
I agree it’s not “mild” 😂 I used 1800 blanco and it still hits. Next time I’ll maybe cut the triple sec down to 3/4 oz if I want it sweeter and less boozy.
Yeah, that ratio is definitely punchy. 2 oz tequila + 1 oz triple sec will feel pretty bold, especially once it’s all blended and chilled.
I dunno about the triple sec, could be too sweet. I prefer mine with just tequila! 🤔
Why use frozen mango? Isn’t that fake? I just use fresh. 🤷♂️
Margaritas are overrated… but this one is okay I guess.
I totally agree! Margaritas just don’t hit the spot for me either. But I have to admit, frozen mango sounds tempting!
LOL, I added too much lime juice and my face was like 😝. Don’t do that!
Not gonna lie, mine separated a bit after I poured it (maybe my blender is weak). Still tasty though—sweet, cold, and refreshing. Would make again if I serve immediately like the directions say.
Mine did that too—like it wasn’t totally smooth after blending. I ended up blending a little longer and using smaller ice pieces, and it came out way creamier. Still delicious though!
I think the separation is just because the ice melts faster than the mango blends. I’d add a splash more lime juice? Or less tequila? Idk, mine never lasts long enough to separate 😅
I like margaritas, but 1 cup ice + frozen mango might be too thick. Mine turned into more of a smoothie than a drink.
Yum! I added a bit of chili powder to the rim and it was bomb! 🔥
Chili powder? That’s an interesting twist! I usually go for just salt, but now I wanna try it your way! 🍹
I didn’t have triple sec, so I grabbed Cointreau. Results were great, but I’m not sure if that counts as cheating 😅
Kinda weak on the alcohol side, should I add more tequila? Or is that just me?
Yeah, more tequila sounds good! I like mine strong. Cheers!
Margarit…margarit…what’s the drink called? Oh well, it’s still good!
Haha, I think you mean margarita! It’s super refreshing. 🍹
I dunno, mangos are alright but I like my drinks with more pizzazz. Maybe try adding some chili powder next time!
Margaritas are overrated anyway, but this is alright!
This is honestly better than the frozen margaritas I get out. Simple ingredients, tastes real. I added a tiny pinch of chili powder just for fun.
Tried it with reposado tequila instead of silver and it was still really good—more vanilla-y. Next time I’ll use freshly squeezed lime again because the bottled juice made it taste a little flat.
I used bottled lime once and it was just… sad? Next time I’m doing freshly squeezed. Also I might swap the salt for sugar on the rim, we’ll see 😂
Ooh reposado makes sense—more vanilla notes from the oak. Glad it still worked! Fresh lime is definitely the move; bottled juice can be kinda dull.
Quick and easy! Made it for a party and it was a hit! Thanks!
So glad it was a hit! Perfect for summer parties!
Yasss! Perfect for summer days! Gonna make it again asap! 🍹
Easy recipe. Blend, rim, done. My blender struggled for a second until I let it run longer—then it was silky.
Easy, but I’m not sure about “simple syrup” like… how much is 1 tbsp really? I added a bit more and it’s still kinda tangy. Next time I’ll measure more carefully.
Totally agree—mine needed an extra few seconds too, but once I let it go it turned out super smooth. Rimming with salt was the perfect touch.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about fruit + tequila but it works. My glass was a little messy with salt, so maybe let the rim get tacky first.
To be honest, I don’t like mango. Can I use strawberries? Or is that sacrilege? 😂
Delicious! This recipe is a hit at my summer parties!! 🍹
Delicious!
Easy and refreshing! I’m only 14 tho so I used apple juice instead. Still good!
That’s a clever twist! Apple juice sounds yummy too. 🍏
It was alright, but I really think it needed more lime juice. A bit too sweet for my taste. I guess everyone has different preferences.
I agree! More lime juice would really balance the sweetness. I usually add a bit more when I make it too!
Nah, I thought it was perfect! Maybe you’re just not into sweet drinks? Just add more lime next time!
Mine came out a bit too sweet, so I’d cut the simple syrup in half. Otherwise the texture was nice and slushy, not watery.
I’m not sure I trust the “creamy” part—my blender usually leaves chunks. Still, the flavor is awesome. Maybe blend longer? Also I forgot to rim with lime and it was sad.
Not sure about using frozen mango, I usually use fresh. This turned out kinda chunky and not as good as I hoped. Maybe my blender is old?
I tried this and it was a HUGE hit! My friends couldn’t believe I made it! 😊
My blender was struggling, like it kept scraping. I had to add a splash more lime juice/ice to get it moving. Once it blended though, it was great.
Didn’t turn out like the pic… my blender isn’t that good. Maybe my mangoes were bad? 😕
Used tequila reposado instead of silver and honestly it was smoother. Rimming with salt + extra lime wedge was a win.
Just put everything in one cup and zipped it up. Can’t complain, tastes fine lol!
I tried this recipe but found it too sweet for my taste. Maybe less syrup next time.
I totally get it! The sweetness can be overwhelming sometimes. I usually use less syrup too. Thanks for sharing your tip!
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about simple syrup—mango already sweet. But it balanced the tartness nicely.
Same! I thought the mango sweetness would be enough, but the simple syrup really rounds everything out—especially with how tart the lime is.
I’m skeptical that 1 cup mango + simple syrup is enough to balance 2 oz tequila. Mine ended up more tart than I expected, and I like sweet drinks. Maybe add more lime? idk.
I used store-bought lime juice by accident (oops) and it was still really good. Next time I’ll do freshly squeezed like the recipe says—pretty sure it’ll be even brighter.
So good! quick and easy. I will make again. 10/10
Not a fan of mango, but my friends loved it! I guess it’s good if you like mango? 🤷♂️
This is dangerously drinkable. The mango flavor comes through super bright, and the lime rim makes it feel like a real cocktail bar drink. I added a tiny bit more simple syrup and it was perfect.
I used mango chunks that weren’t super ripe and it tasted kinda… flat. If you use sweeter mango, this should slap way harder.
Yes!! I had the same issue once with mango that wasn’t quite ripe—adding a bit more syrup helped, but sweeter mango fixed it for me. Love this tip.
Too salty for me. Also I don’t get why you salt the rim if the drink is already sweet—maybe I messed up the lime wedge?
Totally fair—salt rims can read “too salty” if you’re sensitive. I usually use a light dip and not much salt. Also if your lime juice was very tart/strong, it can make the whole drink taste sharper.
I think you’re right to question it, lol. The rim is supposed to add a little contrast to the sweet mango, but if your mango wasn’t super sweet (or the simple syrup was already plenty), the salt can feel extra. Maybe use less salt or skip it next time.
This sounds dangerously refreshing. I used a bit more lime and it still tasted super sweet—perfect summer drink vibe.
