Confetti Cake Pops

February 5, 2025

Confetti cake pops are a playful and delicious dessert that adds a burst of color and sweetness to any occasion. These bite-sized, cake-coated treats are perfect for birthdays, parties, or just when you’re in the mood for something fun and festive. With their vibrant confetti sprinkles and soft, moist cake, they are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike.

The base of confetti cake pops is made from a fluffy cake, often vanilla or funfetti, that’s baked until golden and then crumbled into small pieces. Once the cake is cooled, it is mixed with a sweet frosting that binds the crumbs together, making a soft, dough-like consistency. This mixture is shaped into small balls that are then dipped in a layer of melted chocolate or candy coating. The chocolate coating hardens as it cools, creating a smooth, glossy finish.

The confetti sprinkles come into play as the final touch. After dipping the cake balls into the melted chocolate, they are rolled in colorful sprinkles, giving each cake pop its signature confetti look. These sprinkles not only add visual appeal but also a bit of texture and sweetness to each bite.

For added flair, cake pops can be placed on sticks, making them easier to hold and perfect for serving at parties or giving away as fun gifts. The cake pop sticks are often dipped in chocolate first to help the cake balls stay securely attached. You can get creative with the colors and types of sprinkles, choosing a rainbow mix, holiday-themed sprinkles, or even a metallic finish for a more elegant look.

Confetti cake pops are incredibly versatile, and you can customize them with different flavors of cake, frosting, or even chocolate coatings. They’re a great way to use up leftover cake or create a fun, interactive dessert-making activity for kids.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a sweet treat, confetti cake pops are sure to bring joy and sweetness to any event.

I don’t know, they seem kinda complicated for just cake on a stick. Can’t I just serve regular cake?

I thought they would be easy but I messed up the melting part. My chocolate was clumpy. Ugh! 😩

    1. 4 stars
Oh no! Melting chocolate can be tricky! Try doing it on low heat next time. You’ll get it right!

I totally get what you mean! These cake pops can be a pain. They look cute but take forever to make. Maybe try just making cupcakes instead? Much easier!

Hassle pops? Come on, it’s all about the fun of baking! Maybe you just need some practice with the rolling. It gets easier, trust me!

  15. User avatar leoma.fay26 says:

Pretty easy, but mine took longer than 30 minutes to firm up—my fridge is kind of weak lol. Still worth it. Chocolate coating came out nice and smooth.

    1. User avatar maximina.bashirian82 says:

      3 stars
I think my chocolate seized up once because I added a little water… so I panicked and stirred forever. Still edible though. Any tips to avoid that?

    2. User avatar theron.langworth1996 says:

      5 stars
Glad it worked for you! Mine are usually more like “when the chocolate sets” than 30 minutes—fridge strength definitely matters 😅

Confetti cake pops are my love language 😭 The dipping step is messy but fun. I learned to work in batches so the sprinkles actually stick. Will make again for parties.

Cake pops are overrated. Just eat cake lol.

  22. User avatar sheldon.hahn says:

Confetti cake pops turned out cute, but the white chocolate coating is sweet sweet. I’d reduce the coating a bit or add a tiny pinch of salt to balance it.

  23. User avatar susanna.raynor62 says:

    5 stars
The confetti sprinkles really make it. I used candy melts and they set fast. They were gone in like 10 minutes at my kid’s party 😅

  24. User avatar ione.connelly30 says:

    4 stars
Yummy! Just don’t overload on sprinkles, too much can be too sweet…

Is it really that easy? Seems too good to be true… How can crumbling cake and frosting work? 🤨

    1. User avatar dierdre.vandervort says:

      2 stars
I dunno… seems kinda messy to me. How can just crumbling cake and frosting become a solid ball? 🤔

    2. User avatar willian.mraz says:

      5 stars
Honestly, it’s super easy! Trust me, I’ve made them before and they always come out great. Just follow the steps! 🙌

  30. User avatar Halina Wilderman says:

My kids love them! It was fun to make together. 😊 Next time I think I’ll add chocolate sprinkles too.

  31. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

    1. User avatar cleveland.miller54 says:

      3 stars
LOL, I think your son just made his own sprinkles treat! But how do you get them to stick? Mine always fall off. 🤔

  39. User avatar keenan.pouros56 says:

I don’t think cake should be on a stick. It’s like, why? But okay… they look cute, I guess.

    1. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

      4 stars
I totally get where you’re coming from! Cake pops are cute, but they seem kinda unnecessary. Just give me a slice of cake! 🍰

    2. User avatar dani.conroy84 says:

      5 stars
No way! Cake on a stick is awesome! It’s fun and easy to eat at parties. You might just need to try one first! 😂

  40. User avatar fernando.wunsch2010 says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why you need to refrigerate them. Seems like a waste of time.

  41. User avatar timmy.cormier says:

    3 stars
The stick part was messy for me—like they kept sliding out even after chilling. Maybe my balls weren’t cold enough. Flavor is still great though!

  42. User avatar jeffrey.paucek24 says:

    2 stars
Meh, I was expecting more flavor. Just cake and chocolate. My mom’s recipe is way better.

  43. User avatar Tom Bombadil says:

    5 stars
These cake pops are ADORABLE! Perfect for parties. 5 stars!

  44. 4 stars
Yummy! But I would’ve liked more sprinkles in the dough. I added extra and it made it sooo good!

  45. 1 star
Cake pops = 1 step away from cake. Why not just make a cake? 🤷‍♀️

    1. User avatar idell.okeefe24 says:

      5 stars
But cake pops are cute and fun to make! Plus, they’re easier to share. 🍰✨

  46. User avatar laci.collins37 says:

    4 stars
Just a bunch of sugar, but hey, what’s not to love? 😂

    1. User avatar brock.bartell39 says:

      4 stars
True! Sugar makes everything better! 🎉 But I’d argue that balance is key. Maybe throw in some fruit next time?

    2. 2 stars
Lol, I dunno man. Too much sugar ain’t good for ya! 🤔 Maybe try something healthier?

  47. User avatar Max Quordlepleen says:

    5 stars
These were seriously adorable! The confetti in the coating looks so festive, and the texture was spot-on—like cake truffles on a stick. I did need a little extra frosting to get a doughy consistency, but totally worth it.

    1. User avatar damon.kris1954 says:

      4 stars
I tried these but mine wouldn’t get doughy, so I added frosting too—ended up kinda sticky lol. Still delicious though. Next time I’ll chill longer before dipping. Also I didn’t have styrofoam so I just used a box with holes… it worked I guess 😅

    2. User avatar piedad.mayert says:

      5 stars
Omg yes!! The confetti coating really makes them look party-ready. I love that “cake truffles on a stick” description 😂 Did you use white chocolate or candy melts? I feel like the melts set way smoother.

  48. User avatar rhinoceros says:

    3 stars
Looks easy, but mine fell apart when I dipped them. Maybe I did something wrong?

    1. User avatar angila.jast51 says:

      4 stars
Maybe you didn’t let them cool enough before crumbling? Make sure they’re really chilled when you dip them.

    2. User avatar w00d_ch0p says:

      5 stars
Sounds like you might’ve dipped them too soon! Gotta let those pops get nice and firm first.

  49. User avatar jayson.franecki says:

    3 stars
I got confused in the steps. Do I add the sprinkles to the mix or after? 🤔

  50. User avatar Billie Will says:

    5 stars
Mmmmmm so good! Just made them last night and they disappeared in minutes!

    1. User avatar thomasina.stehr40 says:

      5 stars
Sounds delicious! Can’t believe they disappeared that fast, need to try them myself.

  51. User avatar candice.waters says:

    2 stars
Aren’t these just regular cake pops? Why put a fancy name on it? 😒

    1. User avatar elmer.bayer53 says:

      5 stars
They’re just a fun twist on cake pops! The sprinkles make them festive. 🎉

  52. User avatar jeanene.renner33 says:

    1 star
I don’t know what I did wrong, but mine fell apart when I dipped them. Maybe next time I won’t use the cheap chocolate? 🤷‍♀️

  53. User avatar tina.keebler says:

    2 stars
Not bad… but why does this require 24 oz chocolate?? That’s like a whole bag. I tried to use less and the coating wasn’t as pretty.

  54. User avatar dirk.goldner1966 says:

    4 stars
I used store frosting but it seemed too runny, so I added a bit more cake crumbs until it became dough-like. That fix saved it.

  55. User avatar bobby.spencer says:

    4 stars
Yum! They look cute, but I just can’t get them to stay on the stick!

    1. User avatar gertha.parker17 says:

      4 stars
I’ve had the same problem! Try refrigerating them longer before dipping. It helps a lot!

  56. User avatar jinny.wunsch64 says:

    1 star
Cake pops? More like cake blobs. Don’t know how y’all are liking them. 😒

  57. User avatar CTRLplusW says:

    3 stars
How do you even get the sprinkles to stick? Mine just slid off. 🤔

  58. 4 stars
Delicious but made a mess in my kitchen! Next time, I’ll prepare for a cleanup!

  59. 2 stars
I tried making these but they turned out super messy. Not sure what went wrong. Too hard to shape!

    1. 4 stars
I had the same issue! Shaping them is tricky. Maybe try chilling the mixture longer next time?

    2. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

      2 stars
Messy? Come on, they’re just pops! Just roll them better, and they’ll be fine. 😅

  60. User avatar edward.waters28 says:

    3 stars
Just okay. Not as great as they look. 3 outta 5.
