Chicken and Avocado Nori Wraps

August 9, 2023

When you’re craving a light, nutritious, and delicious meal, Chicken and Avocado Nori Wraps are the perfect choice. This dish combines the rich, creamy texture of avocado with the lean protein of grilled chicken, all wrapped up in a sheet of nutrient-packed nori. The result is a simple, satisfying, and health-conscious wrap that’s full of fresh flavors and makes for a quick and easy lunch or snack.

The nori, which is thinly dried seaweed, adds an umami flavor that complements the savory grilled chicken. It’s packed with minerals and nutrients, making it the perfect base for these wraps. The creamy avocado adds a luscious richness, balancing the umami notes of the nori and offering a satisfying texture contrast to the tender chicken. Together, these ingredients create a perfect harmony of flavors and textures.

What makes these wraps so versatile is how easy they are to customize. You can swap the chicken for tofu or grilled shrimp if you prefer a plant-based or seafood option. Add some crunchy vegetables like cucumber, carrots, or bell peppers for extra crunch and freshness. For those who love a bit of spice, a drizzle of sriracha or a sprinkle of chili flakes can add the perfect kick.

These wraps are also incredibly easy to make. Simply layer the chicken, avocado, and any additional vegetables you like onto the nori sheet, then roll it up tightly. With just a few ingredients, you can create a handheld meal that’s both filling and refreshing.

Chicken and Avocado Nori Wraps are not only delicious but also a healthy choice. They’re low in carbs and packed with healthy fats and protein, making them a great option for anyone looking to enjoy a nutritious meal without sacrificing flavor. Whether you’re preparing a quick lunch, a healthy snack, or a light dinner, these wraps offer a fresh, flavorful solution. They’re easy to make, easy to customize, and perfect for on-the-go eating.

Not a fan, the nori was too chewy for me. I guess I’m just not used to eating seaweed.

I thought chicken and avocado together was odd. But it actually works! Surprisingly good.

  11. 3 stars
I don’t get why people put avocado with chicken. Isn’t that a bit strange?

The soy sauce was overwhelming. I think I’ll reduce it next time or add more honey. Anyone else had this issue?

  13. 3 stars
Honestly, I’m not a fan of avocados… Can I use mayo instead? Just asking 🤔

  22. User avatar caroline.dubuque says:

Not bad! But I think it could use some spice. Maybe add some sriracha?

Looks ok but ain’t chicken breast too dry? I prefer dark meat louder taste!

    1. User avatar Peregrin Took says:

      4 stars
I totally get you! Dark meat is juicier for sure. Chicken breast can be kinda bland sometimes.

  26. 3 stars
Not sure about the nori… It’s kinda fishy. I subbed with lettuce leaves and it turned out fine.

  27. 4 stars
Very good, but I think it needs more sauce. I added extra honey and it was better!

  28. User avatar liberal.hero says:

I don’t know, nori wraps don’t seem filling enough for lunch. Maybe add rice?

  33. User avatar eugene.russel20 says:

    3 stars
Had a hard time rolling them up. The nori kept tearing. Taste was good tho.

    1. User avatar soo.yundt says:

      2 stars
Nori tearing? Really? Just roll it better, it ain’t that hard. You gotta be more careful. But glad you liked the taste!

    2. User avatar kia.bartoletti27 says:

      4 stars
I had the same trouble with the nori, it’s so delicate! Try wetting it a little before rolling, it helps a lot. But yes, the taste is worth the hassle!

  34. User avatar davis.swaniawski68 says:

    4 stars
Love this recipe! Only added some cucumber for crunch. Yum!

  35. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

  36. User avatar pat.jerde says:

Not a fan of the texture of nori, might try lettuce wraps instead. Meh.

    1. 3 stars
But nori is like, the best part! It adds flavor! You might be missing out if you don’t give it a chance.

    2. User avatar Earl E. Byrd says:

Chicken and avocado?? Sounds good, but do they go together? Like, I don’t know… Just seems weird.

    1. User avatar alisa.hagenes says:

      2 stars
Idk man, chicken and avocados seem kinda odd. Like, chicken goes with rice or potatoes, right? Not some weird seaweed thing??

    2. User avatar renate.torp says:

      4 stars
I thought the same thing at first, but trust me, they taste great together! The creaminess of the avocado balances the chicken perfectly.

  39. User avatar gaston.gislason2005 says:

Great recipe but had to google what Nori is! Never heard of it before, haha.

I didn’t have sesame oil, can I use olive oil instead? Really want to try this. Looks tasty!

    1. User avatar Zaphod Beeblebrox says:

      5 stars
Yes, olive oil should work fine! The flavor will be a bit different but still delicious. Can’t wait for you to try it! 😊

    2. User avatar myrna.johns1962 says:

      2 stars
I dunno, olive oil is so strong. Is it really gonna taste good? I would stick with sesame oil if you can find it.

  41. User avatar bettyann.brekke says:

    5 stars
These are the best wraps ever!! The sauce is perfect, I can’t get enough.

  42. 3 stars
Too salty with the soy sauce. Can I use somethin else?

    1. User avatar Spider Worker says:

      3 stars
I just use water instead, tastes fine. But it ain’t exactly the same … ya know?

    2. User avatar Draugr Wight says:

      5 stars
You could try using coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. It’s less salty and still has a nice flavor!
