Pumpkin Shaped Deviled Eggs

October 22, 2024

Pumpkin Shaped Deviled Eggs are a fun, festive twist on the classic deviled egg, making them the perfect Halloween appetizer. These adorable little bites are shaped like pumpkins, complete with a garnish that gives them a cute and spooky vibe. With their creamy filling, subtle spices, and eye-catching presentation, these deviled eggs are sure to be a hit at any Halloween party or fall gathering.

The base of the deviled egg is the same as traditional deviled eggs – hard-boiled eggs halved and filled with a creamy mixture of egg yolks, mayonnaise, mustard, and seasoning. To create the pumpkin shape, the egg whites are scooped out in such a way that they resemble little pumpkin bodies. The creamy yolk mixture is then piped back into the hollowed-out egg whites and shaped to resemble a pumpkin. To add texture and color, you can use paprika for the pumpkin’s “lines” and a sprig of parsley, dill, or chive as the “stem” of the pumpkin.

The pumpkin shape gives these deviled eggs a playful touch while still keeping the familiar, rich taste of deviled eggs. The creamy filling contrasts with the slight crunch of the egg whites, and the mustard and spices provide a tangy kick that complements the mildness of the eggs. You can also customize the flavor by adding extras like pickle relish, hot sauce, or crumbled bacon to the filling for an extra layer of taste.

These pumpkin-shaped deviled eggs are visually striking and add a touch of whimsy to your Halloween spread. Not only are they perfect for a spooky party, but they also make for a unique and festive snack for fall gatherings or potlucks. The bite-sized portions make them easy to grab and go, and they’re sure to be a crowd-pleaser for both kids and adults alike.

Whether you’re hosting a Halloween bash, a fall brunch, or just looking to get into the seasonal spirit, Pumpkin Shaped Deviled Eggs are a fun, delicious way to celebrate the holiday. They’re simple to make, easy to customize, and the perfect mix of savory flavor and spooky charm.

I didn’t quite get the pumpkin shape right, but they tasted great! Maybe I need more practice?

    1. 5 stars
Don’t worry about the shape! As long as they taste good, that’s what matters! Practice makes perfect! 🍳

  6. User avatar jaclyn.mante99 says:

    3 stars
I followed it mostly but my filling didn’t get super smooth—maybe my yolks were too chunky. Still tasted good though.

  7. User avatar alvaro.jast says:

Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical about the “pumpkin ribs” thing. Still, the instructions are simple and mine actually worked.

  8. User avatar klara.stamm says:

Eggs xD lol. That’s a lot of work for something no one eats :p

    1. 4 stars
I think they’re cute! Deviled eggs are always a hit at parties. 🍴

  9. User avatar merlin.carroll20 says:

    4 stars
I used a bit more mustard than the recipe said and it still worked. The chive stems are a cute touch. Would make again for parties.

  10. User avatar jeane.dickens says:

Love that they are easy to make! My kids gobbled them up. Will make again!

Looks easy but my kids don’t like mustard, I wonder if mayo only will work. Anyone tried that?

    2. 5 stars
These sound adorable! I can’t wait to try them for Halloween. My kids will love it too! 🎃

  11. User avatar estella.dicki93 says:

These turned out super cute—my party basically revolved around them. The “pumpkin ribs” hack with the fork worked way better than I expected. ⭐

    1. 5 stars
Yesss—those sound adorable! I love the fork-rib trick, I’ll definitely try it. ⭐

Are deviled eggs supposed to be cold? I prefer mine warm but I guess these are fancy or whatever.

  13. User avatar lady.ledner says:

    2 stars
Looks cool but I think it’s kinda extra work for eggs. Like… deviled eggs already exist, ya know?

  14. User avatar samantha.reichert43 says:

    2 stars
I think deviled eggs are overrated. Why not just boil the eggs?

    1. User avatar Michael83 says:

      4 stars
I get where you’re coming from, but deviled eggs have their own charm! The flavors blend so well together. Plus, they look adorable! 🎃

    2. 3 stars
Boiled eggs are cool, but they ain’t fancy like this recipe. Pumpkin-shaped…sounds fun! Why not give it a try?

  15. User avatar barton.wintheiser1981 says:

    4 stars
I love deviled eggs and the pumpkin shape is cute. The vinegar amount seems key—mine tasted brighter after chilling.

  16. 3 stars
Not sure about the vinegar amount—my mixture tasted a bit sharp. Next time I’ll use less or taste as I go.

  17. User avatar pablo.senger15 says:

    3 stars
How many servings does this make? I need to feed a lot of people.

  22. User avatar laraine.bahringer says:

    3 stars
My kids didn’t eat them, they said they looked weird. I’m not sure if I’ll make them again.

  23. 4 stars
I used dill for the stems by accident and honestly it still looked cute 😂 Would do chive next time.

  24. User avatar cecile.wyman says:

    3 stars
They said it was pumpkin eggs? But I don’t see any pumpkin! 😕

  25. User avatar Mickie Schmeler says:

    5 stars
OMG, these are sooooooo good! I’m going to make them every year! 😍

  26. User avatar Spider Worker says:

    3 stars
Tried making these and they ended up looking like blobs. But they tasted good! 😅

  27. User avatar jadwiga.vandervort30 says:

    3 stars
Pretty good, but I think 3 tbsp mayo is maybe low? I like mine creamier. Also paprika dust everywhere… lol.

    1. User avatar ozzie.damore83 says:

      4 stars
Paprika dust everywhere is part of the fun lol. Mine did that, but I just wiped the plate and called it “seasoning.” Also I might’ve used a lil extra vinegar—still tasted good though.

    2. User avatar nadia.murray27 says:

      5 stars
Agreed—3 tbsp mayo felt a bit stingy for me too. I’m also a “creamier” deviled egg person 😅 I usually go closer to 4–5 tbsp and it turns out way smoother.

  28. User avatar evalyn.schaden31 says:

    1 star
This is a dumb recipe. Who wants pumpkin shaped eggs? Eggs are eggs, they don’t need a gimmick.

    1. User avatar lyn.connelly says:

      4 stars
I think it’s cute! Halloween can be fun with unique recipes like this. Give it a try!

  29. 3 stars
How long do you chill them? I left them like 10 minutes and they were okay, but I think longer would help the flavors.

  30. User avatar jamika.beatty75 says:

    5 stars
These are adorable! Perfect for Halloween parties! 🎃

  31. User avatar Grunthos the Flatulent says:

    4 stars
Very nice! The chive stems were a cute touch. Will make again.

  32. 4 stars
Good idea, but 6 eggs for a bunch of guests feels small. Also, I didn’t have chives so I used green onion and it was still cute.

    1. User avatar Random Dent says:

      4 stars
Agree—6 eggs is kinda tight if you’ve got a crowd. I’d double it for sure.

  33. 2 stars
I dont get why you need so many ingredients for deviled eggs? Just seems too much for a simple recipe.

  34. 3 stars
Just okay. I feel like they could use more flavor. Didn’t taste much of the mustard or paprika.

  35. User avatar keila.williamson28 says:

    5 stars
Yum! These were a hit at my potluck! Everyone kept asking for the recipe!

  36. User avatar erin.bayer says:

    5 stars
5 stars for presentation alone. I served them at a Halloween thing and people kept taking doubles. The paprika garnish helps a lot.

    1. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

      5 stars
Haha that’s the real test—if people come back for seconds you did it right. The paprika garnish really does sell the “pumpkin” vibe.

  37. User avatar marx.smitham24 says:

    3 stars
Not bad but I think the paprika is doing too much. Next time I’ll go lighter on it and maybe add a tiny bit of garlic powder.

    1. User avatar liberal.hero says:

      5 stars
Yeah, paprika can be strong in these. I usually start with about 1/2 tsp for the filling and save a little for the garnish—garlic powder sounds like a great tweak too!

  38. User avatar eleonore.mayert4 says:

    3 stars
Kinda overhyped tbh. They looked cute, but mine tasted a bit too sharp—maybe I eyeballed the mustard or vinegar wrong.

    1. User avatar Wes Will says:

      4 stars
Totally feel you. Mine were cute too, but “sharp” is exactly it—ended up tasting like too much vinegar/mustard. I started doing like 1/2 tbsp vinegar and adding the rest a little at a time, and it’s way more balanced.

  39. User avatar Duane Williamson says:

    4 stars
This is such a fun recipe! 🎃 Can’t wait to try it. Do you think I can use green onions instead of chives?

  40. User avatar nell.ankunding says:

    4 stars
So simple and they turned out pretty tasty. I was worried about the vinegar, but it gave a nice tang. Would make again for sure.

  41. 2 stars
Fun idea, but I don’t get why vinegar is needed—does it really change anything? My batch tasted kinda sharp.

    1. User avatar kenny.hudson1988 says:

      5 stars
Vinegar can actually help—it’s a small amount of acid that balances the richness from the mayo and egg yolk. If yours tasted sharp, you might be measuring a little heavy, or your vinegar could be stronger (like straight distilled vs something milder). Next time try 1/2 Tbsp and taste.

    2. User avatar reyna.cummings53 says:

      3 stars
I always skip vinegar in deviled eggs. Don’t think it’s needed—sounds like extra tang to me. If your batch was sharp already, I’d just leave it out next time and add more paprika or a little mustard instead.

  42. 2 stars
I followed the recipe exactly, but they didn’t look like pumpkins at all. Disappointing!

  43. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    4 stars
How do you guys get them to look so pumpkin-y? Mine just look like regular eggs. Help!

  44. User avatar Feral Falmer says:

    3 stars
Yolk mix was too tangy for my taste. Maybe less mustard next time?

    1. User avatar suellen.murray2009 says:

      2 stars
Tangy?! I thought they were just right. Maybe you put too much vinegar? 👀

    2. User avatar belia.simonis24 says:

      4 stars
I agree, the mustard can be strong! You could try mayo instead of mustard next time.

  45. 5 stars
These are adorable! The pumpkin “ribs” trick with the fork worked really well. I used a little extra paprika and the color looked perfect for Halloween.

    1. User avatar jerrica.bernhard73 says:

      5 stars
So cute! I tried the fork “ribs” thing too and it actually looks like real ridges. Used smoked paprika for extra depth—made them taste way better.

    2. User avatar gracie.berge69 says:

      4 stars
Not gonna lie, I doubted the pumpkin idea… but the color with extra paprika + the chive stems is awesome. Next time I’ll make the ribs a bit deeper though—mine looked more like tiny scratches 😅

  46. User avatar marivel.stiedemann says:

    5 stars
These are my new go-to Halloween appetizer. I made them the night before and they were even better chilled—exactly what I want for hosting.

  47. 4 stars
Fun idea, but my filling got a little runny because I eyeballed the mayo. Next time I’ll stick to the amounts—still tasty though.

  48. User avatar carey.blick69 says:

    5 stars
These look adorable! I used extra paprika and the “pumpkin ribs” came out way more convincing than I expected.

  49. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

    5 stars
My kids loved these! They thought they were mini pumpkins. So fun!

    1. 3 stars
Are you sure kids will really like them? They gotta be picky with eggs, right? 🤔

    2. User avatar natalya.jacobson50 says:

      5 stars
That sounds adorable! Can’t wait to try these for Halloween! 🎃

  50. User avatar Ford Prefect says:

    5 stars
Followed this recipe exactly and they turned out AMAZING! Delicious and adorable.

  51. User avatar Torchbugs says:

    4 stars
Honestly the chive stem idea is cute, but I had trouble getting the lines to look like pumpkins. Still tasted great—just not as photo-worthy.

  52. User avatar shawanna.kerluke89 says:

    4 stars
Easy to follow, and the pumpkin look is fun for Halloween. I added extra paprika (because why not) and it made them taste better too. Would definitely make again.

  53. User avatar mai.conn5 says:

    4 stars
Tried this and didn’t have chives, so I used parsley instead. Still turned out great!

    1. 5 stars
Glad to hear it turned out great with parsley! Sometimes you gotta improvise. Can’t wait to try it myself!

  54. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    2 stars
Meh, didn’t impress my friends. I think they preferred regular deviled eggs.

  55. User avatar corrine.kovacek says:

    3 stars
Too much mayo for my taste. Next time I’ll use less. 🤷‍♂️

    1. 3 stars
Less mayo? Nah, I love it creamy! But to each their own, I guess. 🤷‍♀️

    2. User avatar Mrs. Jason Bergstrom says:

      4 stars
I kinda agree! Mayo can be overpowering. But maybe try Greek yogurt instead? 👌

  56. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    5 stars
Yasss! These are the perfect appetizer for my Halloween gathering! 🎉

    1. User avatar brenna.dach2005 says:

      5 stars
These look super cute! Perfect for Halloween vibes! 🎃

  57. 1 star
Sounds easy, but don’t eggs need to be cooked longer? My friend says they do.

  58. 4 stars
Pretty simple and tasty, but mine didn’t look super “pumpkin-y” until I really pressed the lines with the fork. Still delicious though.

    1. User avatar Darwin Willms says:

      3 stars
I tried this and honestly it looked more like deviled eggs than pumpkins 😅 I pressed the lines a lot but my paprika just didn’t show. Maybe I used the wrong mustard? Still ate them all.

    2. User avatar quinn.hettinger34 says:

      5 stars
Mine were the same way! I didn’t get that strong “pumpkin” look until I really dragged the fork lines in. The flavor still slapped though.

  59. User avatar shela.denesik38 says:

    4 stars
Super simple and fun! I didn’t have chives but used parsley, still came out good! 🥚

  60. User avatar darcel.pagac2007 says:

    4 stars
1 pinch salt + 1 pinch pepper… I did way more and it tasted better to me. Don’t be afraid to adjust.

  61. User avatar anibal.grady says:

    3 stars
Not sure about the vinegar—seemed a little sharp to me. Maybe I’m just not used to it, but I’d reduce it next time.

  62. User avatar socorro.champlin32 says:

    3 stars
I followed it exactly, but my yolk mixture never got smooth like the instructions said. Maybe my fork skills are bad lol. Flavor was still solid.

  63. 2 stars
I mean, they look nice but my kids are super picky eaters. They just wouldn’t touch them… 🙁

  64. 3 stars
“Mounding slightly” is vague—mine overflowed a tiny bit. Also, I ran out of paprika so they weren’t as vibrant. Flavor is good regardless.

    1. User avatar evon.cronin says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—“mounding slightly” is one of those phrases that’s useless until you try it 😅 Mine did the same. I’ve started aiming for just enough to cover, not heap. Still, glad the flavor held up!

  65. 3 stars
Not bad! But can we talk about how hard it is to get the yolks mashed smooth? I used a fork and it was kinda lumpy until I kept going.

  66. User avatar hildegard.howe2009 says:

    3 stars
Kinda weird to make eggs look like pumpkins… but ok. Who came up with this lol.

  67. User avatar Gail Andrews says:

    2 stars
Honestly? They came out kinda bland. I added more salt and pepper, and that fixed it. If you like bold flavors, don’t be shy.

    1. 5 stars
I agree—mine were super mild the first time too. I think the yolk mix just needs more seasoning (and maybe a tiny extra paprika). Glad salt + pepper saved them!

    2. 3 stars
Hmm, mine was fine 🤷‍♂️ Maybe I added too much paprika though. But yeah, if they taste bland for you just add more salt, that’s basically the whole trick. Would love to try it with a bit more mustard next time.

  68. User avatar carson.shields4 says:

    1 star
I dunno, this seems kinda ridiculous. Are we really making eggs into pumpkins now? What’s next?

    1. 5 stars
I think it’s a fun idea! It’s all about creativity in cooking, right? Give it a try!

  69. User avatar Siona Atreides says:

    5 stars
These look adorable—definitely making them for Halloween. The “pumpkin ribs” step is such a fun touch.

  70. User avatar carolee.pacocha says:

    4 stars
Pretty straightforward, and the filling was nice and tangy. I might use a bit less vinegar next time though—mine tasted sharper than deviled eggs usually do.

    1. User avatar Arthur Dent says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—mine came out tangy too. I reduced the vinegar to 1/2 tbsp and it tasted way closer to classic deviled eggs for us.

    2. User avatar nancy.kling54 says:

      3 stars
I think 1 tbsp vinegar is a lot for eggs. Also my chives got soggy lol. Next time I’ll try less vinegar and maybe use dried mustard? idk

  71. 2 stars
Deviled eggs? Y didn’t u just say hard-boiled eggs? Boring. Idk why this is special.

    1. User avatar efrain.kertzmann35 says:

      4 stars
They’re not just hard-boiled! It’s all about the presentation! These look cute for a party.

    2. User avatar marc.mertz50 says:

      5 stars
Boring? Nah! It’s a twist on a classic! You just gotta try them before judging!

  72. User avatar young.reichert53 says:

    5 stars
These are sooo cute! Made them for a Halloween party and everyone loved them! 🎃

    1. User avatar myriam.erdman2023 says:

      3 stars
They look cute, but do they taste good? 🤔

    2. User avatar wellRespected says:

      5 stars
I love them too! Perfect for Halloween 🎃. Glad everyone enjoyed!

  73. User avatar carolann.maggio says:

    2 stars
I followed the recipe but they didn’t look anything like pumpkins. What did I do wrong?

  74. User avatar brad.kertzmann1960 says:

    2 stars
Why do people put mustard in deviled eggs? Makes them taste weird. I just stick to mayo!

  75. User avatar anderson.johns98 says:

    4 stars
Deviled eggs are already great, but turning them into pumpkins is genius. I added a little extra paprika and it looked perfect.

    1. User avatar darcy.corkery97 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! The pumpkin vibe is spot on—extra paprika really sells it. I’ve made deviled eggs before but never thought about the ribs detail. Thanks!

  76. 4 stars
Can I substitute chives with something else? Like parsley?

  77. User avatar devin.runte94 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, I messed up step 3—mine looked more like cracked lava than pumpkin ribs. Still delicious though.

  78. User avatar tony.lueilwitz says:

    2 stars
I feel like 3 tablespoons mayo is too little (or maybe my eggs were huge). I had to add more to get it smooth.

    1. User avatar macy.luettgen51 says:

      5 stars
I agree—3 tbsp sounds low for me too. My yolks always seem to drink it up. If it won’t get smooth, just add mayo a little at a time until it’s creamy.

    2. User avatar shad.osinski2021 says:

      4 stars
Maybe your eggs were extra huge, yeah 😅 I did fine with 3 tbsp though. Also make sure you mash the yolks really well first—then the mayo will blend smoother.

  79. User avatar erin.kohler96 says:

    5 stars
    One word: yum.

  80. User avatar mark.will1998 says:

    1 star
I just don’t like eggs, so these weren’t for me, but they look cute. 🤷‍♂️

    1. User avatar adaline.dicki says:

      4 stars
I get it! Eggs can be hit or miss for some people. But they do look super cute! Maybe try a different filling next time? 🤔

  81. User avatar lizbeth.roberts1967 says:

    4 stars
1 teaspoon paprika seems kinda bland? I sprinkled way more and it was better. Also I forgot the chive stems and it still worked lol.

  82. User avatar mel.weber2018 says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty and fun presentation. I used a little extra mustard and it made the filling tangier. Would make again for holidays.

    1. User avatar isiah.west78 says:

      5 stars
Love that you tweaked it! Extra mustard for tang is exactly what I’d do too—sounds perfect for holiday parties.

  83. User avatar adriene.miller says:

    5 stars
These look adorable. I made them for a Halloween party and they disappeared fast—everyone kept asking for the recipe. The paprika ribs trick worked great.

  84. User avatar lamar.mccullough says:

    3 stars
I dunno, they look more like lemons than pumpkins…maybe I did it wrong?

  85. 4 stars
I followed it pretty closely, but the filling felt a bit thick for piping, so I loosened it with a tiny splash more vinegar. Turned out good—cute and creamy.

  86. 2 stars
Not sure about the vinegar amount. Mine turned kind of sour and the color was more pale than in the picture (also I forgot the extra paprika dusting 😅). Might try less vinegar next time.

  87. User avatar roxane.wisoky1957 says:

    3 stars
Mine didn’t really “mound” the way the picture in my head did. I think I scooped too much yolk out. Also, the chive stems wilted after a while.

Oh no—yeah I totally get what you mean. If you scoop too much (or the yolk is a bit loose), it won’t “mound” like the picture. Next time try using a little less egg white space and maybe mash the yolk more thoroughly before mixing. Also for the stems, I’ve had that happen too—chives can wilt fast once they’re sitting on top, so I either add them right before serving or pat them dry first. Hope your next batch turns out better!

These are soooo cute! I did the ribbing with a fork like the instructions and they looked exactly like mini pumpkins. The flavor is classic deviled egg—paprika + a little vinegar is the sweet spot.

Really solid flavor combo. I used a little extra mustard and it gave it a nice tang. The only thing is mine didn’t look perfectly “ribbed” but still tasted amazing.

I tried the ribs with the fork but they came out messy and my yolk mix cracked a little. Still edible though—maybe I needed to keep it more moist.

Yummy! My kids thought they were so cool! But i used hot sauce instead of mustard. lol 😂

5 stars easy, but also… do I have to chill them overnight? I did like 30 mins and they were okay. Might be better longer. Either way super fun!

    1. 5 stars
I always chill overnight—30 mins works, but the flavors really meld and the filling gets firmer. Your batch sounds like it still hit though!

    2. 3 stars
Um I did 10 mins in the fridge and it was fine? Lol. I think the overnight is optional but for looks/texture it probably helps. Try an hour next time too.

These are adorable—like deviled eggs dressed up for fall. I followed the steps pretty much exactly and the pumpkin “ribs” came out great.

These sound cute but I feel like the “ribs” would kinda slide off if you do it too gentle? Also I used a lot less vinegar bc mine tasted kinda sharp. Still, chive stems are a nice touch. Pumpkin deviled eggs = nice idea!

    2. 5 stars
Haha I love that description—“deviled eggs dressed up for fall” is spot on. I’m glad the pumpkin ribs turned out great! Did you chill them before serving?

Could you just use relish instead of mustard? I’m lazy. Also, how many eggs makes 12 servings? The recipe says 6 eggs so I’m confused.

    1. User avatar emil.becker says:

      5 stars
You *can* swap in relish for the mustard—just note it’ll taste sweeter/more tangy, so start with a little and adjust. As for eggs: 6 eggs makes 12 halves, which are the “12 servings” (deviled egg halves). So it’s not 12 whole eggs—it’s 12 pieces.

The vinegar amount feels like it could be harsh. I used closer to 1/2 tsp and it was great—otherwise it tasted a little too tangy for me.

Good point! Vinegar can definitely swing the flavor fast. Next time I’ll start smaller like 1/2 tsp and adjust from there—thanks for the tip.

Not gonna lie, deviled eggs are usually hit or miss for me, but this was actually worth making. The pumpkin stem with chives is such a simple idea that looks fancy.

  97. 5 stars
The stems with chive pieces were the best part. My kids were stealing them off the plate before I even finished plating.

Not sure why everyone likes these. Deviled eggs are deviled eggs—adding pumpkin shapes doesn’t make them better to me. But I’ll admit they’re fun for parties.

I get what you mean—deviled eggs are deviled eggs. 😄 But the pumpkin vibe is kinda the point for parties. Also, the ribs look way better than plain filling.

I actually don’t like pumpkin flavor stuff either, but these are just paprika and vinegar. My kids still steal them fast. Not sure why people hate, it’s easy and looks fancy.

So cute it almost feels wrong to eat… almost. I used more paprika on top and it looked perfect. My kids loved the stems.

I tried this but my yolk filling was kinda runny, maybe I used too much mayo? Also I thought the paprika was for flavor not just color—still good though. Pumpkin eggs are fun, 10/10 for effort.

Haha I totally get that—those pumpkin ribs look so realistic! I’m glad your kids loved the stems. Did you add any extra paprika to the “ribs” lines or just the top?

I’m confused—do you boil the eggs for 6 eggs? Like… how long? I winged it and some yolks were a little crumbly.

The chive pieces were too tiny for me, so I chopped them bigger and it looked better. Otherwise followed everything.

    1. User avatar frances.heller71 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—those chive pieces can disappear if they’re too tiny. Chopping them bigger makes the “stem” actually visible. Glad the rest came out right!

Kinda confused about the vinegar amount. 1 tablespoon seems like a lot, but I guess “until smooth” covers it. I added a bit less and it was perfect for my taste.

I followed it exactly and the filling was smooth and creamy. The ribbing step is genius—makes them look like real little pumpkins.

These are adorable—my kids actually ate deviled eggs for once. The paprika “ribs” trick looks way better than I expected.

Simple, classic deviled eggs vibe but dressed up. My family said it looks like fall in a bite.

  106. 5 stars
Kids loved it! They said it looked like little pumpkins. I’m not a great cook but this was easy.

egg pumpkins?? lol idk. i tried it and it was dry, maybe my eggs were overcooked. tasted ok but looked weird. 🙁

    1. User avatar junior.johns42 says:

Haha yeah “egg pumpkins” sounds goofy, but deviled eggs are legit. If yours were dry, it’s usually overcooking the eggs—try 9–10 minutes once they come to a boil (then cool fast). Also don’t over-mix the yolk filling; you want it creamy, so add a touch more mayo if it’s tight. The weird look is normal for pumpkin ribs too—more paprika lines can help it read as “pumpkin.”

  108. 4 stars
Pretty easy. I used yellow mustard and it was still tasty. The chive stems make it look legit.

Really nice flavor balance. I only tweaked it by adding a little garlic powder, and it still stayed tangy from the vinegar/mustard. Would make again.

I’m skeptical about the paprika amount but decided to try anyway. Result: it’s good and not overpowering. The ribs look surprisingly convincing.

    1. User avatar joe_banana says:

Glad it worked out! I’m always nervous about paprika going overboard too—1 tsp sounds right for deviled eggs. The “pumpkin ribs” detail is genius.

Wait—pumpkin deviled eggs? I tried something like this before and my paprika ended up tasting kinda bitter… Maybe I used smoked paprika tho. Still tho, they sound cute, ngl.
