Monster Meatballs are a spooky, fun, and delicious addition to any Halloween table. They take the classic comfort of juicy, savory meatballs and give them a playful twist perfect for entertaining kids and adults alike. Whether served as an appetizer, main dish, or part of a Halloween-themed snack board, these creepy little bites are guaranteed to steal the show.
The magic of Monster Meatballs is all in the decoration. Once the meatballs are cooked to golden perfection-whether baked, pan-fried, or air-fried, they transform into quirky little monsters with just a few creative touches. Edible eyes made from mozzarella slices with olive centers or candy eyes (for a sweeter, more playful version) give each meatball a fun personality. You can use strips of cheese, bell pepper, or even thinly sliced vegetables to create fangs, tongues, or spooky smiles.
For an extra Halloween vibe, serve the meatballs over a pool of “bloody” marinara sauce, letting the bright red color create a deliciously eerie effect. Arrange them on a platter with toothpicks, skewers, or even spaghetti nests dyed with black food coloring to take the theme to the next level. They can also be tucked into sliders, pita pockets, or wraps, turning simple meals into festive Halloween fun.
Monster Meatballs are incredibly versatile, you can stick with classic beef, turkey, or chicken, or go for plant-based versions using lentils, beans, or meat alternatives for vegetarian guests. Add herbs, spices, and cheese into the mixture for extra flavor, then let your imagination run wild with decorations.
Not only are they tasty, but they’re also a great activity to get kids involved in the kitchen. Everyone can decorate their own monster, making mealtime both creative and interactive. These meatballs bring together everything you want in a Halloween recipe: flavor, fun, and just the right amount of fright.

Ingredients
- 500 grams ground beef lean
- 1 cup bread crumbs preferably fresh
- 1 large egg lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese freshly grated
- 1 teaspoon salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
- 1 can green olives sliced in half
- 200 grams spaghetti cooked
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Roll the meat mixture into small balls, about the size of a walnut, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through.
- Remove meatballs from the oven. Using the sliced olive halves, place two on each meatball to form ‘eyes’.
- To create the spaghetti 'hair', arrange some cooked spaghetti on top of each meatball. Decorate with ketchup.
- Serve warm and enjoy the delightful and monstrous presentation!
Simple and fun recipe. The olives make them look so cool! Will try again with my niece.
Meatballs are fun but spaghetti hair is just weird. My husband was confused.
I don’t cook much but I managed this pretty well, surprisingly.
Monster meatballs? LOL. My 5-year-old loved helping make these! Fun and yummy!
These monster meatballs are a hit at my kid’s birthday party! They devoured them. 👏
These monster meatballs are a hit at my kids’ party! They loved the ‘eyes’ and spaghetti hair. So fun!
Came out weird… I think I added too much salt. 😕
Yeah, too much salt can ruin a dish! Maybe try less next time? 😅
Totally awesome! I can’t believe I made something so cool. I wanna make it again for Halloween!
That sounds like a fun idea! Perfect for Halloween! 🎃
Not sure if I wanna put olives on meatballs… seems weird. 🤔
I’ve never used olives berfore, the meatballs came out tasty!
5 stars!!!
Meatballs with eyes? Weird! My kids are not into olives so I used black beans, it worked.
Honestly, what kind of monster puts spaghetti on meat? This is just wrong. 1 star for being odd.
This is just weird. Who eats spaghetti like that? Just stick to normal meatballs.
I think it’s creative! Spaghetti on meatball hair is fun! My kids loved it. 🤗
I tried making these, but the meatballs fell apart in the oven. What did I do wrong?
Maybe the meat mixture was too dry? Adding a bit more egg or breadcrumbs can help it stick together better!
Idk, but mine was perfect! Did you follow all steps right? Maybe overmixing? 🤷♂️
My kids loved them, but I think they should be bigger! Monster size, right? 😂
Haha, monster size would be awesome! My kids would go crazy for that! 😂
Loved it! But where’s the sauce? Could’ve used more flavor.
Love the idea, super cute for Halloween! I used turkey instead of beef and they were still good!
But… isn’t beef the main ingredient? Turkey just ain’t the same…
I never thought turkey would work! Gonna give that a shot next time 😄
Monster meatballs = best meatballs? YUP!
I don’t have black pepper at home, so I used white. Taste was still good, I think.
This recipe made my kitchen smell soooo good! But the eyeballs are kinda creepy. 😱
Pretty easy to make! My kids had a blast helping and loved the spaghetti hair. Will make again!
Sounds like a fun activity! My kids would love the spaghetti hair idea. Definitely trying this soon!
I dunno, meatballs with spaghetti on top? Seems a bit weird. But if the kids liked it, that’s great, I guess.
These monster meatballs are a hit at my kid’s Halloween party! They loved them!
Ugh, this recipe stunk. The meatballs were too dry and the spaghetti idea is just gross. Never again!
I think the idea is silly. Meatballs are meatballs, not art. 🥱
Not crazy about the spaghetti on top. Just seems weird to me.
Monster meatballs? More like monster mushballs! What did I do wrong?
Maybe you overmixed? That can make them mushy. I’d try gentle mixing next time!
Used turkey instead of beef, still came out great. Gotta get creative sometimes, ya know? 🍴
Turkey instead of beef? That’s not how meatballs are done… but if it worked for you, cool. 🤔
I’ve never thought about using turkey! That’s such a cool idea, thanks for sharing! 😁
I tried this recipe and forgot the egg… still came out delicious! Will definitely make again.
I thought this recipe would be a disaster, but the meatballs turned out great! Surprisingly tasty.
Horrible! The meatballs fell apart and tasted bland. More seasoning needed next time for sure.
I had the same issue with the meatballs! They were super bland, so I added garlic powder and Italian herbs. It made a big difference! Try that next time!
Meatball recipe? I thought it was gonna be a Halloween decoration 😅 but actually not bad at all!
Just made these. My dog looked at me like I was crazy when I was decorating! 😂
Monster meatballs? More like monster mess! 🙄 I had spaghetti everywhere.
Haha, I can totally relate! The presentation is cute but messy food is the worst! 😂
These meatballs are a hit with my kids! They love the eyes made of olives. Will definitely make again!
Recipe is straight foward! However, who even puts spaghetti on a meatball? Seems wrong.
Y didn’t u mention how to cook spagetti? I just boiled it for 10 min but it mushy. 😟
Can you use turkey instead of beef? Not a fan of red meat.
I don’t see how olives on meatballs is a thing. Just tastes weird to me.
These are the most fun meatballs ever! My kids loved them, we had a blast. Will make again! ❤️
Eww, olives in meatballs? Who thought that was a good idea?! I’m just sticking to plain meatballs.
My mom made these in a different way, but I’ll give it a try! They look cute!
I think it’s super fun that you want to try it! My mom’s way was totally different too, but this sounds like a cool twist! Can’t wait to see how yours turn out! 😊
They look cute, but I dunno… green olives? I mean, my mom said they taste good but I ain’t so sure. Maybe I’ll just stick to plain meatballs?
Not sure about the spaghetti on top… Seems a bit weird to me? But they tasted OK.
I made these for a party, and everyone was impressed! Will make again!
I don’t get it, why would you put olives and ketchup on meatballs? Seems weird. But if it worked for you, cool I guess.
That’s awesome! I’m glad everyone loved them! What do you think made them stand out the most?
Looked great but tasted like cardboard. Never again!
These are so cute! Perfect for Halloween!
Not sure about the spaghetti on top… it’s a bit weird. But the meatballs themselves were tasty.
I thought the spaghetti was a fun touch! It adds character to the dish, didn’t you think? Plus, it’s just for presentation!
Um, aren’t meatballs supposed to be round? This looks like a strange science experiment.
Honestly, I didn’t think they would be that great. But they are delish! My partner didn’t even notice the olives.
Delish? Really? I think they sound weird with olives and spaghetti hair. Not for me.
I’m glad you liked them! I was worried about the olives too, yum!
OMG, these meatballs are a hit at my party! Everyone loved them and took pics. 😍
These meatballs are a hit at parties! Everyone loves the monster eyes!
I didn’t have green olives, so I used pickles instead… they were still alright! LOL
I tried this recipe but didn’t have olives, so I used pickles instead. Not sure it worked out. 😬
This recipe be a masterpiece! My party guests was impressed! 👍
These meatballs are super fun for my kids! They loved the spaghetti hair. 😄
Meatballs are always a yes!! But ketchup decoration? Hmm im not so sure.
Ketchup on meatballs? That sounds kinda weird. But hey, kids might love it! I’m not sold on that idea though.
My mom made these all the time, but she used turkey and no parmesan. still good!
Are meatballs really suppose to have spaghetti on top? Seems odd.
I think it’s a fun twist! Monster meatballs should be different, right?
