It’s the perfect drink for a summer evening, offering a crisp, vibrant taste that will transport you to a sun-soaked terrace in Italy.

To make this cocktail, muddle fresh mint leaves with a little sugar and lime juice in a glass, releasing the mint’s aromatic oils. Top it off with rum and soda water for that signature mojito fizz, and stir gently to combine. For a garnish, add a lime wheel, a sprig of mint, or even a slice of lemon for a bright, refreshing look.

This cocktail is light, flavorful, and easy to make, making it perfect for any occasion, whether you’re hosting a summer party or enjoying a relaxing evening on the patio. The combination of mint, lime, and limoncello gives the drink a unique, sophisticated twist on the classic mojito, making it a standout choice for your next gathering.

Yum! I made this for my friends at a BBQ and it was a hit! So refreshing!

  2. User avatar fonda.rau10 says:

Lol, I accidentally put in too much simple syrup and it was like drinking candy! 😂

    1. User avatar nicky.gusikowski66 says:

      2 stars
I dunno, but isn’t limoncello meant to be stronger? Too much syrup just ruins it, I think. 🤔

    2. User avatar Feral Falmer says:

      4 stars
Haha, that sounds super sweet! Maybe next time try 1/2 tbsp or just a little less syrup. 🍹

  3. User avatar Cave Bear says:

    5 stars
This is the best twist on a mojito! The limoncello really adds a unique flavor. Will make it again for sure!

    1. User avatar maynard.lockman says:

      5 stars
I tried this too! It’s super refreshing in the summer. Love the zesty lemon flavor!

  4. User avatar winston.friesen35 says:

    3 stars
Easy to make and tastes good. But where’s the mint? More mint please!

  5. User avatar diego.huels29 says:

I don’t know about using limoncello, seems weird for a mojito. I prefer the classic recipe. 🤔

  6. User avatar Werewolf says:

    3 stars
I thought it was just okay. I prefer my cocktails with more kick, not so much sweetness.

    1. User avatar arron.batz says:

      4 stars
I totally get what you mean! I like my drinks with a bit more zing too. Maybe try adding more lime juice next time?

    2. User avatar joe_banana says:

      3 stars
Sweetness is what makes it good! But hey, to each their own. Just adjust the syrup if you want less sweetness!

  7. User avatar genesis.runte2019 says:

    3 stars
Ok, but it took me forever to muddle the mint. Not sure it’s worth it. 🤔

  8. User avatar deloris.stracke says:

    4 stars
Not bad! The flavor is different than a classic mojito—more citrus-forward, less “minty fresh.” If you like lemon liqueur, you’ll probably love it.

  9. User avatar mirian.abernathy says:

    5 stars
Highly recommend! Can’t wait to make this at my next party! 😍

    1. 5 stars
Sounds delicious! Perfect for summer vibes! 🌞

  10. 4 stars
I messed up the recipe and used lemon juice instead of lime juice and it was still good. Just saying!

  11. 5 stars
This drink is amazing! The limoncello really adds a nice twist to the classic mojito. Loved it!

  12. 2 stars
Not a fan… too sweet for my taste. I think I’ll stick with regular mojitos.

    1. User avatar Rachelle Kovacek says:

      4 stars
I get that! Limoncello is not for everyone. Regular mojitos are classic! 🍃

  13. 5 stars
So easy and fast. Love it.

I don’t know what simple syrup is but I used honey instead. Still tasted good just a lil different!

This is way too much work for a drink. Gary just adds rum and calls it a day.

    1. User avatar jerry.baumbach72 says:

      3 stars
But it’s not that hard! Just follow the steps. Gary is missing out on the real flavor! 😏

    Best drink ever!!! 🍹✨

  17. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

I’m skeptical about combining rum and limoncello. Seems weird.

    1. User avatar mauricio.keeling says:

      4 stars
I was skeptical too at first, but it really works! The flavors blend surprisingly well. Give it a shot!

  18. User avatar dinorah.huels82 says:

    4 stars
Super refreshing! Perfect for summer BBQs. My friends are gonna love it!

  19. User avatar jacinta.dooley says:

Club soda makes it watery. I think you could do more rum and less soda, otherwise it loses body. Still—nice idea with the citrus.

  20. User avatar matthew.jenkins20 says:

    5 stars
Wow, I never thought of mixing limoncello with mojitos. Genius idea! 🍹

  21. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    2 stars
Mine turned cloudy like milk?? maybe I used the wrong rum (dark-ish). Tasted fine, but visually not cute.

    1. User avatar travis.johnson says:

      3 stars
Idk, could be the dark rum. The recipe says white/light rum—dark ones can look weird and funky with lime + liqueur. Next time stick to white rum and see if it stays clear. Quick fix: strain it too?

    2. 4 stars
Totally get it—milk-cloudy usually means something emulsified or the mix wasn’t fully clear (often from vigorous muddling or too much mint oil). Try muddling lighter, add ice, then pour rum/limoncello slowly, and stir gently.

  22. User avatar Hotblack Desiato says:

    3 stars
Does anyone else think mint tastes like dirt? I’ll skip the garnish next time.

  23. User avatar trula.ortiz71 says:

  24. User avatar linnea.towne1998 says:

This drink is amazing! The limoncello gives it such a nice twist. I loved it!

  25. User avatar edmund.jacobson says:

    2 stars
I don’t know about mixing limoncello with rum. Seems odd. I might stick to the classic mojito.

    1. User avatar w00d_ch0p says:

      2 stars
Nah, I still think a classic mojito is way better. Why mess with perfection?

    2. User avatar Orange Dartwing says:

      5 stars
I was skeptical too at first, but this combo is actually refreshing! You gotta try it! 😋

  26. User avatar Oolon Colluphid says:

    5 stars
Yummy! Just made it. I like my drinks strong so I added an extra shot of rum. haha!

  27. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    5 stars
Made this last night and it’s seriously bright and refreshing. The limoncello + mint combo is such a good twist on a classic mojito. I used fresh mint and it tasted like summer in a glass!

    1. User avatar millard.wyman1965 says:

      5 stars
That sounds awesome—I’ve always loved mojitos, but the limoncello/mint twist is genius. Definitely adding this to my next cocktail night!

  28. 1 star
I just don’t think mint really goes with lemon like that. Didn’t enjoy this one.

  29. User avatar Barliman Butterbur says:

    3 stars
Not sure about mixing limoncello into a mojito… seems like lemon candy water. But I’ll admit it tasted better than I expected, just not my vibe.

  30. User avatar magaret.watsica57 says:

    2 stars
I don’t get the hype around this drink. Mojitos are supposed to be simple, not all this fancy stuff!

  31. 4 stars
I liked it, but I think 1 oz limoncello might be a bit much if you’re not into sweet cocktails. Next time I’ll reduce to 1/2 oz and see. Still tasted fresh though.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—1 oz limoncello can be pretty sweet. If you’re not a big dessert-cocktail person, 1/2 oz sounds like the sweet spot. Glad it still tasted fresh though!

  32. User avatar Tahno O'ah says:

    5 stars
Tried this last night and it’s dangerously refreshing. The limoncello + lime combo is bright, and the mint actually tastes like mint (not just a garnish). Will make again.

    1. User avatar lamar.crooks43 says:

      5 stars
Ooh “dangerously refreshing” is exactly how I want a cocktail to feel 😄. Glad the mint came through for you—so many recipes just slap mint on top and call it a day.

  33. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    5 stars
This drink is refreshingly delicious! Perfect for summer parties. I added a bit more lime, yum!

  34. User avatar steve_maga says:

    2 stars
Instead of club soda, I used tonic once (don’t ask). It tasted kind of weird, like lemon soda with attitude. Would not repeat.

  35. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    3 stars
Confused—1 oz lime juice but also lime for garnish… how much lime should that be, like a whole lime? I eyeballed it and it came out okay, but directions could be clearer.

  36. User avatar lachelle.tremblay78 says:

    4 stars
I like mojitos but I was skeptical about swapping in limoncello. Surprise: it actually works. I did 1.5 oz rum next time just to make it stronger.

    1. User avatar nickolas.wilkinson45 says:

      5 stars
Okay that’s actually genius—limoncello in a mojito makes total sense. I bet it’s like a lemony version of the classic citrus vibe.

  37. 5 stars
    Mint was refreshing. Yum!

  38. User avatar Genghis Khan says:

    4 stars
I made it last night and it was really good, but I used a little less syrup because the limoncello is already sweet. Still perfect.

  39. User avatar bok.lindgren says:

    5 stars
This mojito was the perfect refreshment for our summer BBQ! Loved the twist with limoncello. Will definitely make again!

  40. User avatar Majin Vegeta says:

    3 stars
Just tried it and it was okay. Limoncello is too sweet. 😕

  41. User avatar long.schamberger1999 says:

    5 stars
Made it last night and it was honestly perfect. The mint + lime combo really pops, and the club soda keeps it light. Sweetness was spot-on with the 1 tbsp syrup too.

    1. User avatar branda.wilkinson58 says:

      4 stars
I tried it, but I think mine was a lil too sweet? Maybe my limoncello was sweeter than yours. Still good though—next time I’ll cut the syrup to like 2 tsp.

    2. User avatar rene.tromp13 says:

      5 stars
Agreed—made this last week and the mint + lime really comes through. The club soda makes it way lighter than most sweet cocktails, and the 1 tbsp syrup was the sweet spot for me too.

  42. User avatar blake.harris58 says:

    5 stars
This is giving “fancy vacation drink” energy. I made it at home and my roommate asked if we were in Italy. The garnish was cute too.

  43. User avatar zachery.hoeger46 says:

    4 stars
Very bright and not too sweet. I measured everything exactly and it came out super balanced. The club soda step matters—don’t skip it or it gets heavy.

    1. 4 stars
I think my “simple syrup” was a little off (I used less), but honestly it still tasted great. Maybe next time I’ll follow your steps more strictly… also I kinda forgot to muddle hard lol.

    2. User avatar melonie.considine38 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree about the club soda! I tried once without stirring/using it right and it felt way heavier. This version is so refreshing—mine was bright too.

  44. 3 stars
I followed it, but my drink was way too sweet. Maybe my simple syrup was thicker than normal? If you like tart cocktails, I’d cut the syrup by half.

  45. User avatar basementDweller says:

Looks tasty but do you really think it tastes like chips? 🤔

  47. User avatar ayana.graham says:

    2 stars
Hmm, don’t know about this one. Mixing rum with limoncello? Seems weird!

  48. User avatar Tom Bombadil says:

    5 stars
This is such a refreshing twist on a mojito—lovely lemony brightness from the limoncello. I muddled a little too aggressively at first, but it still tasted great. Will definitely make again for summer parties.

    1. 5 stars
Yes! The limoncello twist sounds perfect for summer. I always think muddling is where things can go wrong—good call that it still worked out.

    2. User avatar simona.kuphal says:

      2 stars
Mojito+limoncello sounds kinda fancy but I’m skeptical. Also 10 mint leaves feels like a lot—wouldn’t it turn bitter? Maybe I’m doing it wrong 😅

  49. User avatar marya.heaney88 says:

    5 stars
    Smash!! Love it! 🍹

  50. 5 stars
Made this last night and it’s dangerously refreshing. The limoncello + mint combo tastes like summer in a glass. I used homemade simple syrup and it knocked it out of the park.

  51. 4 stars
Tried this last night. Wasnt sure about limoncello but it really worked! My friends loved it!

  52. User avatar melodee.conn68 says:

    4 stars
Easy to make, but I forgot the mint and it was still good. Worth a try!

    1. User avatar jellyfish says:

      4 stars
I’ve never tried mint in drinks. I’m glad to see it still turned out good! Might give this a shot.

  53. User avatar shandi.white2010 says:

    2 stars
It’s okay, but I think mojitos should only be with mint & lime. Not a fan of added stuff.

  54. User avatar rhonda.steuber26 says:

    3 stars
I accidentally added too much club soda and it tasted weird. Maybe less next time? But I’m not a great cook.

  55. User avatar oliva.macejkovic61 says:

    3 stars
Too much mint for my taste. Maybe cut it down? It overpowered the other flavors.

  56. 4 stars
Yummy!! Can’t believe how fast it was to whip this up. Going to add more mint next time!

    1. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

      5 stars
I love this recipe too! The mint really makes it fresh. I’m glad it was quick for you!

  57. 5 stars
This drink is a summer must! Super refreshing and easy to make. 🍹

    1. User avatar rodger.schumm says:

      3 stars
Looks good, but isn’t limoncello too sweet? I prefer my mojitos a bit more tart.

    2. User avatar benjamin.harber50 says:

Totally agree! This drink is perfect for hot days. I love the mix of flavors! 🍋🌿

  58. User avatar socorro.bednar1 says:

    5 stars
I followed the measurements exactly and the balance was spot on. I could actually taste the lime and the rum instead of it all tasting sweet.

  59. 5 stars
I made a version with vodka instead, and it was bomb! Totally my own spin!

  60. User avatar rickie.padberg42 says:

    2 stars
Limoncello in a mojito? Not sure about that. Kinda ruins the classic flavor. Stick to the traditional recipe.

  61. 4 stars
Pretty good—felt a little too sweet for my taste even with 1 tbsp simple syrup. Next time I’ll cut the syrup down and maybe use a bit less limoncello.

  62. 3 stars
I tried it, but the limoncello was too strong for my taste. Maybe less next time?

  63. User avatar shonda.greenholt9 says:

    3 stars
Mint can be overpowering and this one was a bit minty for me. Next time I’ll use fewer leaves or just garnish instead of muddling.

    1. User avatar elin.monahan24 says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—mint can go from refreshing to “toothpaste” real quick. Cutting the muddle amount (or just using a sprig for aroma) is exactly how I’d tweak it too.

  64. User avatar Claudia Kemmer says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty, but I think I muddled the mint a bit too hard because it turned slightly bitter. Next time I’ll be gentler. Still a great twist on a classic mojito.

    1. 5 stars
Yes! Mint can go bitter if you mash it too hard—gentle press is the move. Glad you still enjoyed the citrus twist 😄

  65. User avatar vern.keebler1977 says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe, but mine tasted kinda sharp? Like the lime punched harder than the sweetness. Could be because I didn’t measure the simple syrup exactly.

  66. User avatar liberal.hero says:

    4 stars
I made this for my party and it was a hit! People kept asking for more! 🎉

  67. User avatar xiao.wehner34 says:

    2 stars
Not sure about putting limoncello in a mojito. Mojitos are minty and rum-y, and limoncello feels more like a dessert drink.

  68. 3 stars
Muddling mint always scares me because I never know how hard to press—mine turned slightly bitter. Taste-wise though, it was good.

    1. User avatar moshe.koss says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—mint goes from fragrant to bitter way too fast. I do a gentle press just to bruise, not mash. Glad it still tasted good though!

    2. User avatar vikki.balistreri says:

      4 stars
Maybe you muddled too hard or too long. Try tearing the mint lightly first? Also, use less lime juice if your limes are extra sharp.

  69. User avatar pete.lynch99 says:

    4 stars
Simple and good. I didn’t have fresh mint so I used dried (bad idea lol) but even then it was drinkable. If you have fresh mint, do it!

  70. User avatar delois.erdman says:

    1 star
One cup club soda?? that’s like a whole soda portion. Idk, seems off to me. I’d rather just pour to taste.

    1. 4 stars
I kinda get what you mean—1 cup is a lot. But it’s the “top off” part, so the drink stays light. If you pour less, it’ll just be stronger and less fizzy.

    2. 5 stars
Pouring to taste is the move. Start with like half a cup, stir, then add more if you want more bubbles. No rules.

  71. User avatar tess.okeefe28 says:

    5 stars
This sounds dangerously refreshing. The limoncello + mint combo is a vibe—like a summer vacation in a glass.

  72. User avatar margene.hayes says:

    2 stars
Way too sweet for me. The simple syrup + limoncello combo is kinda sugar bomb. I would cut the syrup in half or skip it entirely.

  73. User avatar taunya.waters says:

    5 stars
OMG, I love this drink!!! Made it for my party and everyone wanted the recipe!

    1. User avatar yong.treutel22 says:

      2 stars
I dunno… Is limoncello really necessary? I like mojitos without all that extra stuff.

    2. User avatar nicholas.huels1 says:

      5 stars
That sounds amazing! I need to try this out for my next gathering. Do you have any tips for making it extra special?

  74. User avatar cameron.schmeler30 says:

    2 stars
Isn’t limoncello for desserts? This feels weird. 🤔

    1. User avatar Candace Spencer says:

      2 stars
I don’t know… Sounds kinda strange to me. Who puts candy liqueur in a mojito?

    2. User avatar benito.veum says:

      4 stars
Actually, limoncello can be used in drinks too! It’s not just for desserts. Give it a try! 🍹

  75. User avatar neil.littel59 says:

    2 stars
I followed the recipe, but I accidentally poured the club soda first and it turned into a sad mess. I started over and now it’s great. Lesson learned.

  76. User avatar noma.durgan94 says:

Mint leaves? Ugh, hate mint. Could never drink this.

  77. User avatar keith.schuster37 says:

    5 stars
The flavor is incredible—like a lemony mojito. I used regular rum and it was fine. Definitely a “serve immediately” drink, because it goes flat fast.

  78. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical about mixing limoncello into a mojito. I tried it anyway and… it actually worked? I still prefer plain mojito, but this is fun.

  79. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    5 stars
This is the best drink ever! So refreshing for summer.

    1. 3 stars
I dunno, sounds kinda weird to mix limoncello with rum. Isn’t that too sweet?

    2. 5 stars
Totally agree! This drink is like summer in a glass! 🌞🍹

  80. User avatar luke.ortiz says:

    4 stars
Ok but the muddling step is EVERYTHING. I didn’t muddle enough and it tasted kinda flat. Once I did it properly, the flavor came together way better.

  81. User avatar yolonda.lockman says:

    2 stars
Ugh, a mojito with lemon? NO thanks. Classic mojitos r way better!

  82. User avatar Guru-Guru says:

    3 stars
Mine tasted kinda sour even though I used “fresh” lime juice. Maybe my limes were weak or I muddled too hard? Still drinkable though.

    1. User avatar son.zemlak1983 says:

      4 stars
Could be the limes—some are just super tart/low-sugar. Also if you muddled the mint too hard, it can make things taste harsher and more “green,” which reads as sour.

  83. 4 stars
Good recipe but 10 mint leaves feels like a lot? My mint was huge though, so maybe that’s on me. Either way, it smelled amazing.

    1. 3 stars
I always do like 6-ish leaves and it’s plenty. 10 can make it taste a little “green” if you muddle too hard.

    2. User avatar rene.king says:

      4 stars
Totally agree—10 mint leaves sounded like a lot to me too, but if the leaves are bigger it makes sense. Glad it still smelled amazing!

Wow, the limoncello + mint combo is ridiculously refreshing. I didn’t have fresh mint so I used dried—still decent, but fresh is way better. Will make again for summer guests!

So easy! My friend made it and I loved it! Even though I hate mint.

I messed up the muddle and ended up with mint bits everywhere lol, but the flavor was still solid. If you muddle gently, it should be way smoother. Good summer drink.

I think muddling is unnecessary—just slap the mint in there and shake. Also 10 leaves seems like a lot… mine would be bitter.

Mint bits are basically the “extra texture” version 😂 But yeah—gentle muddling is key. I always worry I’ll overdo it too.

Not sure about mixing limoncello with rum. Doesn’t sound like a great combo to me.

I thought the same at first! But sometimes unexpected combos can surprise you. Gotta try it to know! 🍹

Rum and limoncello? No way that sounds good… I prefer my mojitos traditional. Just saying.

I’m skeptical that limoncello belongs in a mojito… but I tried it. It’s actually good, just smoother than I expected. My garnish was sad though (no idea why my lime slice floated).

Not bad at all! I’m not usually into citrus liqueurs in cocktails, but the lime juice keeps it balanced. I’d maybe add a little more club soda for more bubbles.

Pretty tasty, but I think I muddled the mint too hard—got a slightly bitter edge. Next time I’ll be gentler. Still, the citrus balance is on point.

Honestly? Mojito already has enough flavor. Adding limoncello just makes it too sweet and weird. I’ll stick to rum + lime + mint next time.

Meh. Too many citrus components for my taste—limoncello, lime juice, plus garnish. It’s okay, but I’d rather do a classic mojito.

Not bad, but I think 1 tbsp simple syrup is too little. I added another splash and it fixed it. Also, muddling is annoying—my mint got bruised too much lol.
