Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken is one of those dishes that never goes out of style. It’s a true classic that brings together the natural juiciness of chicken with the bright, fresh flavors of lemon and aromatic herbs. Whether you’re cooking for a special occasion or just want a comforting dinner, this dish is perfect for any night of the week. It’s easy to prepare, full of flavor, and can be served alongside a variety of sides for a complete, satisfying meal.
The key to a great roasted chicken is in the seasoning. Fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme, and parsley add depth and earthiness, while the lemon brightens the whole dish with its zesty, refreshing flavor. The chicken is seasoned both inside and out, ensuring that every bite is infused with flavor. As it roasts, the skin crisps up beautifully, creating a golden, savory crust while keeping the meat tender and juicy on the inside.
One of the best things about Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken is its versatility. You can easily adjust the herbs and seasonings based on what you have on hand or your personal preferences. Add garlic for an extra burst of flavor, or throw in some vegetables like carrots, onions, and potatoes for a one-pan meal. The chicken can be served as-is with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad, or it can be paired with mashed potatoes, rice, or bread for a heartier meal.
Not only is this dish delicious, but it’s also simple to prepare. With a little bit of prep work and some patience while it roasts, you’ll have a meal that looks and tastes like it took much more effort than it really did. Plus, it’s perfect for meal prepping, leftovers can be used for sandwiches, salads, or soups in the days that follow.

Yum! I’m no chef, but even I could make this. I’m gonna try it again for my friends. Lettin’ ya know! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I forgot to baste it. Is that a big deal??
meh
I actually loved this recipe! The flavors were amazing. Maybe give it another try?
Meh? What’s so boring about roast chicken? It’s a classic! Do you even like chicken?
Why u gonna squeeze the lemon on the chicken? Sounds weird.
I found it a bit too salty for my taste. Maybe I should’ve used less salt?
I tried to make this, but my chicken burned 🙁. Maybe I did something wrong? I followed the recipe! ⭐⭐
Don’t worry! It happens to the best of us. Maybe the oven was too hot? Try checking the temperature with an oven thermometer next time. 😅
I’m not great in the kitchen, but this was easy enough for me! Smelled great too.
This recipe is amazing! The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. My family loved it.
I made this for my family and they loved it! I’m not a great cook but this was easy.
That’s awesome! I love how easy recipes can bring the family together. I’ll have to try it too!
I tried this but my chicken was dry. I think I cooked it too long? Still, the herbs were nice.
1 hr and 20 mins?? Takes way longer than that for my oven!! What’s with the time difference?
The chicken was dry, followed all instructions but it turned out like shoe leather, never cooking chicken again.
I followed the recipe exactly but it turned out dry. I think it needs more broth or something.
5 stars for the taste, but where is the garlic? I think you not need to put it. 😄 Good though!
Perfect dinner for Sunday! Will make again. Thanks!!!
Sounds good, but isn’t it hard to make a whole chicken? I usually stick to just thighs. 🤔
I totally agree! This chicken recipe is a game changer. So juicy and flavorful!
I was skeptical about the lemon, but wow! It really made the flavors pop! So good!
This is my go-to recipe now! Perfect for family dinners. Even the kids loved it!
So glad to hear it worked out for your family! It’s definitely a hit in my house too. 😊
Can I use a frozen chicken? Or does it have to be fresh? Asking for a friend. 🤔
This was amazing! The chicken turned out so juicy and flavorful. My family loved it!
Yum! I added some paprika for extra color. Looked good and tasted even better!
Yummy! I added some onions and carrots to the pan. Will do this again! 🙂
This was the best chicken I’ve ever cooked! So juicy and flavorful!
Wow, that sounds amazing! I need to try this recipe ASAP! Thanks for sharing your success!
Easy and quick! I don’t get why people say it’s hard to roast chicken!
Looks good but I don’t know if olive oil is the best choice. Butter ftw! 🧈 #teambutter ⭐⭐⭐
It’s just chicken, how good can it really be? I don’t get it.
I followed the recipe but it came out kinda dry. Not sure what went wrong.
Dry? It was moist for me! Did you use a bigger chicken or something? 🤔
Maybe your oven temp was off? I always check with an oven thermometer to be sure.
Tastes great but improvise with lemon! We only had limes and it worked fine! Yummy!
Honestly it ain’t that great. My kid wouldn’t touch it. Guess I’m just bad at cooking.
Yummy chicken! I added a little more rosemary and it was amazing! 🍗
I should try adding more rosemary too! Sounds like a great idea! 🌿
But why add more? The recipe seems perfect as is. 🤔
yummy 😊
Looks delicious! Can’t wait to try it out this weekend! 🍗
Yummy? I dunno, seems kinda basic. Where’s the spice? 🤔
So delicious and easy to make! Will definitely make again. Thanks for sharing!
Lemon and chicken? Sounds strange… but I tried it and wow! It works!
Lemon in chicken? That sounds funny. Is it acidic or something? I’d stick to BBQ!
I thought lemon with chicken would be weird too, but it’s so good! The flavors really blend well together.
chicken was ok but too much salt for my taste. I think 1 tsp would be enough.
Wow! The lemon really makes a difference. I will definitely make this again!
Can you use a different herb instead of thyme? I’m not a fan of it. Maybe basil?
A little too lemony for my taste. Next time, I’ll use less lemon.
I think the lemon adds a nice zing! But yeah, if it’s too much, just adjust next time. Cooking is all about experimenting!
This is the best chicken recipe I’ve ever used! Even better than my mama’s. Highly recommended!
Lemon in chicken? Sounds weird but I gave it a shot and it was really tasty. Will make again!
I thought it would be gross too! But wow, the lemon really brings out the flavor of the chicken! Glad you liked it!
Lemon and chicken? Sounds odd. Wonder if it’s healthy or maybe just fancy?🤔
Seems too simple. Does this really work? I’ve heard chicken can be tricky.
This recipe is absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on and it was juicy. My family loved it, will make again for sure!
Not sure what the fuss is about. The chicken was just alright. Didn’t taste like much.
This was the best chicken recipe I’ve ever tried. I didn’t even have thyme but it was still great!
This chicken came out a bit dry for me. Not sure if I cooked it too long or what. Maybe less time next time?
I’ve had that happen too! Cooking chicken can be tricky. Try covering it with foil for the first bit of cooking, it helps keep moisture in. Good luck next time!
Absolutely delicious! The lemon gives it a great kick. I will definitely make this again!
I didn’t find it that great. The instructions were kinda confusing!
I’m glad you liked it! The lemon really makes a difference, right? 😄
I don’t get why people rave about this. It was alright, but nothing WOW. Just another chicken recipe, really.
I think it’s all about the seasoning. If you don’t amp it up, it’ll just taste like chicken. 🐔
I absolutely loved this recipe! The lemon gives it such a fresh flavor. 😍
Simple! I cooked it for my first time making chicken. Turned out good! **thumbs-up emoji**
Who roasts chicken at 375°F? I’ve always done it at like 425°F. Don’t know if that matters.
Simple ingredients that always work! I made this for my family, and everyone loved it. Thank you!
Very easy recipe, I just put everything in the oven but forgot the garlic 🤦. Still turned out okay.
Glad it turned out okay! Garlic is awesome, but it sounds like you did well without it. 🍗
I dunno how it could be okay without garlic. Isn’t that kinda the whole point? 🤷♂️
Honestly, my chicken came out dry. Not sure what I did wrong but I’m disappointed.
Dry? Maybe you shoulda cooked it less time? Mine was juicy. Just sayin’.
I’m sorry to hear that! It’s easy to overcook chicken. Did you baste it often? That helps!
Good, but I couldn’t find low sodium broth. Used regular and it was okay.
Too much lemon for my taste. It overpowered everything. Might use less next time. ⭐⭐
I tried this but it took way longer than 1 hour 20 min. The chicken was still raw. Disappointed.
That’s really odd! I did this recipe last week and it turned out perfectly. Maybe your oven runs cooler? Check the temperature with an oven thermometer next time.
Delish!!! I love lemon and garlic together. This is my new go-to chicken recipe! 🍋🐔 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I tried it too! Super easy and tastes great. Chicken was juicy and flavorful! 😋
This was super tasty! The lemon really brings out the flavor. My family devoured it!
Not impressed. I thought it would be better. Chicken was just okay. It’s chicken!
Wow, this chicken turned out amazing! So juicy and flavorful. The thyme and rosemary combo is perfect!
Came out perfect! So juicy and flavorful. Will definitely make again. Thanks!
The garlic was too strong for my taste. Maybe I’m sensitive or somethin’. Next time I’ll use less.
I feel ya! Garlic can be super strong. Maybe try roasting it before adding? It mellows out the flavor a lot.
This recipe is fantastic! The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. My family loved it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This chicken recipe is too complicated for me. I just fry mine! 😂
I tried this recipe and mine turned out dry. Did I cook it too long? 🤔
Simple and easy to follow, I made it for my friends and they were all impressed. 💯
Glad to hear it worked out for you! It’s a favorite in my house too! 😊
Easy to follow. But a chicken that size took longer than 1hr20min in my oven. Just a heads up! ⭐⭐⭐
Y’all, this is the best chicken I’ve ever made! I’m never going back to store-bought again!
Absolutely agree! This chicken recipe is a game changer! So juicy and flavorful!
