Greek-style Tuna Salad

June 12, 2024

If you’re looking for a healthy, vibrant, and satisfying meal, Greek-style Tuna Salad is the perfect choice. This Mediterranean-inspired dish is packed with fresh vegetables, briny olives, creamy feta cheese, and, of course, tender tuna, all tossed together in a tangy olive oil dressing. It’s a light yet filling salad that’s ideal for a quick lunch, a light dinner, or even as a refreshing side dish.

The star of this salad is the high-quality tuna. Whether you choose canned tuna in olive oil or fresh grilled tuna, the fish brings a delicious richness and protein boost to the dish. It pairs beautifully with the crunchy cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, and red onions, creating a medley of textures and flavors that are both refreshing and satisfying.

To complete the Mediterranean flair, Kalamata olives and crumbled feta cheese add a salty, savory element that elevates the dish. Fresh herbs like oregano or parsley enhance the flavor, bringing brightness and depth to each bite. The olive oil-based dressing, typically made with lemon juice, red wine vinegar, and a bit of Dijon mustard, ties everything together with a tangy, slightly zesty kick.

This Greek-style Tuna Salad is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients. The tuna provides protein and omega-3 fatty acids, while the vegetables offer vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. The olives and feta provide healthy fats, and the olive oil dressing adds a good source of monounsaturated fat, making this salad a heart-healthy option.

Whether you’re looking for a quick meal to prep ahead of time or a dish to serve at a gathering, this salad is sure to impress. Serve it with a slice of warm pita bread or over a bed of mixed greens for an even heartier option.

Too many ingredients for a salad. Can we just not have all of them?

Looks easy but is it really that good? I’m not much of a tuna fan.

I dunno ’bout tuna salad. I once tried it and it was mushy. Maybe yours was too dry from the can?? 👀

You might wanna make sure you didn’t overcook the tuna! Canned tuna’s usually pretty moist if you mix it right. 😅

Great recipe but I subbed avocado for the feta because I’m lactose intolerant. Still yum!
