Greek-style Tuna Salad

June 12, 2024

If you’re looking for a healthy, vibrant, and satisfying meal, Greek-style Tuna Salad is the perfect choice. This Mediterranean-inspired dish is packed with fresh vegetables, briny olives, creamy feta cheese, and, of course, tender tuna, all tossed together in a tangy olive oil dressing. It’s a light yet filling salad that’s ideal for a quick lunch, a light dinner, or even as a refreshing side dish.

The star of this salad is the high-quality tuna. Whether you choose canned tuna in olive oil or fresh grilled tuna, the fish brings a delicious richness and protein boost to the dish. It pairs beautifully with the crunchy cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, and red onions, creating a medley of textures and flavors that are both refreshing and satisfying.

To complete the Mediterranean flair, Kalamata olives and crumbled feta cheese add a salty, savory element that elevates the dish. Fresh herbs like oregano or parsley enhance the flavor, bringing brightness and depth to each bite. The olive oil-based dressing, typically made with lemon juice, red wine vinegar, and a bit of Dijon mustard, ties everything together with a tangy, slightly zesty kick.

This Greek-style Tuna Salad is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients. The tuna provides protein and omega-3 fatty acids, while the vegetables offer vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. The olives and feta provide healthy fats, and the olive oil dressing adds a good source of monounsaturated fat, making this salad a heart-healthy option.

Whether you’re looking for a quick meal to prep ahead of time or a dish to serve at a gathering, this salad is sure to impress. Serve it with a slice of warm pita bread or over a bed of mixed greens for an even heartier option.

Too many ingredients for a salad. Can we just not have all of them?

I don’t understand why you would mix tuna with olives. Seems weird to me.

  11. 3 stars
It was okay. I thought it needed more flavor… maybe more vinegar??

Too much onion for my taste. It kinda ruined it for me.

    1. User avatar sergio.abernathy says:

I get that! You could always use less onion or even skip it entirely. The rest of the salad is still delicious!

Good recipe but I used canned chicken instead of tuna 😀 It was still good!

    1. User avatar geoWizard says:

      2 stars
That’s not even close to Greek salad if you’re using chicken! 🤨 But whatever floats your boat, I guess.

      4 stars
Canned chicken? That’s different! I’m glad it turned out good for you! I bet it gave it a unique flavor! 😀

Tuna salad is just tuna, mayo and bread no need for all this fancy stuff.

    1. User avatar ricardo.quigley says:

      2 stars
Nah, I prefer my tuna salad with just mayo and bread. All these extras sound like a waste. Why complicate things?

    2. 5 stars
Sure, tuna salad can be simple, but this Greek version is way tastier! The olives and feta bring a whole new level to it. Try it before knocking it!

  27. 1 star
Tuna salad?? Uh, what about chicken salad? Tuna is yucky!

    1. User avatar sabine.blick says:

      5 stars
Yes, you can totally make it without olives! It’ll still taste yummy with the tuna and other veggies. Just add a bit more feta for flavor! 😊

  35. User avatar angeles.green65 says:

    2 stars
Too many ingredients. Ain’t nobody got time for all that chopping! Just stick to tuna and mayo.

    1. User avatar jamey.corwin49 says:

      2 stars
Just make it simpler! Who’s got time to chop all those veggies? Tuna and mayo is a classic!

    2. User avatar Rob McKenna says:

      4 stars
I understand, but these ingredients really make it taste amazing! Worth the time if you ask me.

  36. User avatar sam.davis says:

    3 stars
Not enough flavor! I think it needs some garlic or something to spice it up.

    1. User avatar tyler.ohara26 says:

      3 stars
Nah, I think it’s fine without garlic. The olives and feta already give it a strong flavor. Just my opinion!

    2. 4 stars
I totally agree! Garlic would have taken it to the next level. Maybe some garlic powder could work too? 😊

  37. 2 stars
I dunno, my tuna was really dry. Maybe I did it wrong? 🤔

    1. User avatar arlinda.rice says:

      2 stars
I dunno ’bout tuna salad. I once tried it and it was mushy. Maybe yours was too dry from the can?? 👀

    2. User avatar mary.medhurst says:

      4 stars
You might wanna make sure you didn’t overcook the tuna! Canned tuna’s usually pretty moist if you mix it right. 😅

  38. User avatar kenda.olson52 says:

    4 stars
Great recipe but I subbed avocado for the feta because I’m lactose intolerant. Still yum!

  39. User avatar newton.dietrich2014 says:

    1 star
Wait, why olive oil? Can’t you just use butter? 😂

  40. User avatar kennith.bauch59 says:

    5 stars
This salad is super refreshing! Perfect for summer. I added some avocado too! 🙂
