Idk, it was kinda bland for my taste. I expected more flavor. Maybe I did something wrong?

So easy to make, even for a beginner like me. It’s like comfort food in a dish! 🙂

Is this really a Texas dish? Seems more like a chili casserole. I prefer my cornbread plain.

I thought cornbread was sweet! Why is this savory? Confused…

Why are there beans in this? Shouldn’t real Texan cuisine be bean-free?

  7. 5 stars
My kids devoured it! Next time, I’m adding cheese on top. Yum!

Just used regular tomatoes instead of Rotel and it worked just fine! Still delicious!

I tried it with jalapeños, and it was way too spicy for me! But I guess everyone’s taste is different.

You didn’t mention what size the can of chili should be. Hope mine’s not too much.

Looks good. I’ll try this but I ain’t keen on the spicy part, so no Rotel for me.

You could always just use regular tomatoes instead of Rotel! I’m not a fan of spicy either, so I totally get it.

Why would u wanna ruin a good recipe by taking out the Rotel? Just try a little bit, you might like it!

I don’t know about this one. Beans and chili? That’s a lot of flavors. Not sure if my family will like it.

This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out. Do you think it would work with turkey instead of beef?

  17. 4 stars
Yummy! But I feel like it’s too much beef. Maybe chicken next time?

    1. User avatar antonia.pouros24 says:

I think the beef is perfect! It gives it a hearty flavor. Chicken wouldn’t be the same!

Yeah, I guess chicken could work, but it’s a casserole! It’s all about the beef, right?

Looks good, but isn’t cornbread mix just too easy? Maybe try making it from scratch next time?

Sounds easy, but I don’t really like ranch beans… What’s a good substitute?

    1. User avatar Spider Worker says:

You could use black beans or pinto beans instead! They’d work well in this recipe.

Just leave out the ranch beans, it won’t be the same but might be okay?

Tried this and it was too spicy for my kids. Gonna tone it down next time.

I totally understand! You could try using less chili or a milder brand next time. My kids handled it okay, but every fam’s different!
