Dragon Fruit and Kiwi Salad

January 15, 2026

Looking for a fresh, colorful salad that feels like a tropical vacation in a bowl? The Dragon Fruit and Kiwi Salad is a vibrant and hydrating dish that’s perfect for summer brunches, light lunches, or as a stunning side at your next gathering. It’s packed with juicy fruits, natural sweetness, and a touch of tang, all without any added sugar or fuss.

The star of this salad is dragon fruit, also known as pitaya. Its mildly sweet flavor and striking pink or white flesh dotted with tiny black seeds make it a showstopper. When paired with tangy, juicy kiwi slices, the combination becomes both visually striking and refreshing to the palate. These two fruits balance each other beautifully: the dragon fruit is soft and mellow, while the kiwi adds a punchy brightness.

To add more texture and flavor, you can include other tropical ingredients like mango chunks, pineapple bits, or pomegranate seeds. A drizzle of lime juice and a few torn mint leaves take this salad from good to unforgettable. The lime enhances the fruit’s natural sweetness while the mint adds a cooling finish, perfect for warm days.

This salad is also a nutritional powerhouse. Dragon fruit is rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C, while kiwi offers vitamin K, potassium, and a boost to your immune system. The natural hydration from these fruits makes this dish great for summer or post-workout refueling.

Best of all, it’s incredibly easy to make. Simply slice the dragon fruit and kiwi, mix gently with your choice of other fruits, squeeze over fresh lime juice, toss in some mint, and serve chilled.

Dragon fruit and kiwi salad pairs beautifully with light, citrus based cocktails like a virgin mojito or gin and tonic, as the fresh flavors enhance the tropical sweetness of the fruit.

Whether you’re making it for a brunch spread, packing it for a picnic, or enjoying a light snack, the Dragon Fruit and Kiwi Salad delivers flavor, color, and nourishment in every bite.

Eh, they taste kinda bland to me. I wouldn’t spend so much on them, but if you like the look, go for it.

Actually, dragon fruit can be white or purple, depending on the variety. You might have picked a white one!

  19. User avatar elliot.kerluke says:

Looks fancy but way too much effort for a salad. I just chop my fruits without the dressing. 😅 ⭐⭐⭐

I don’t like dragon fruit, thought it was gonna taste like dragons. Anyway, my kids loved it so 4 stars for them! 🐉❤️

  21. 5 stars
This salad is so refreshing! I love the sweetness of the dragon fruit combined with the tartness of the kiwi. Definitely a keeper! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  22. 3 stars
Don’t you think honey and lime is too sweet? 🤔 I might try it with just lime next time. But the fruits are yum!

  23. 2 stars
I made this and it was okay… but idk, felt like something was missing. Maybe a bit of salt? 🌊

  24. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    3 stars
Dragon fruit is kind of pricey where I live, so I’m not sure it’s worth it for a salad. But the color is beautiful and the dressing sounds legit.

    1. User avatar gino.keebler says:

      4 stars
Yeah, I get that—dragon fruit can be super pricey. But if you’re doing a “worth it” situation, this salad’s more about the vibe/texture than the calories. I think the honey + lime keeps it from tasting bland, so even a small amount could work.

  25. User avatar melvin.rogahn95 says:

    4 stars
Easy and tasty. I didn’t have fresh mint so I used dried—still worked okay, but fresh would be way better. Also I added a splash more lime because I like it tangy.

    1. User avatar camellia.hintz says:

      3 stars
I made this but didn’t have honey, so I used sugar and it turned out… kinda weird? Still tasty, though. Also I think 1 tbsp lime juice was not enough for me, I added more like you.

    2. User avatar lanelle.weber says:

      5 stars
Nice! I’ve tried dried mint before too, but I agree—fresh really makes it pop. Love the extra lime idea; tangy always wins with fruit salads.

  26. 5 stars
Omg this tastes like summer. I used lime from a bottle cause I’m lazy, and it still worked. Will make again for sure.

    1. User avatar minh.swaniawski3 says:

      5 stars
Right? The flavor is so fresh and bright—love that you still used bottled lime and it worked out. 🍃 I’ll have to try this chilled again soon!

  27. 5 stars
OMG, I can’t believe how pretty this looks! Definitely gonna make this for my brunch. 🌈

  28. User avatar Gurney Halleck says:

    3 stars
meh… salad. not bad but mint is like toothpaste smell if you use too much lol. also i think lime juice should be more??

  29. User avatar charles.pacocha34 says:

    3 stars
This is cute, but kiwi can be kinda tricky—mine got mushy fast. Still tasty though, just don’t leave it sitting too long.

    1. User avatar markus.ryan25 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—kiwi goes mushy on me too if I prep ahead. I usually dice it right before serving and toss gently. Still super tasty though!

  30. User avatar christi.okeefe14 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I expected more zing. Lime juice felt a bit mild with only 1 tbsp honey. Next time I’ll add a bit more lime or even a pinch of salt.

    1. User avatar Falmer Spellsword says:

      3 stars
Hmm I actually like it mild? The mint helps cool it down and the honey makes it not so sour. But yeah maybe a little extra lime if you want more “zing”. Also is 1 tbsp honey like… too much? lol

    2. User avatar newton.schowalter17 says:

      5 stars
Totally get what you mean—dragon fruit and kiwi are already sweet/tart, so 1 tbsp honey can blunt the lime a bit. I’ve started adding a pinch of salt too and it really wakes everything up. Great call!

  31. 5 stars
This looks so fresh and colorful! The honey + lime combo sounds perfect for cutting the fruit’s sweetness. I’d definitely garnish extra mint.

  32. User avatar hunter.torp says:

    5 stars
Made this for a picnic, and everyone loved it! So easy to prepare.

    1. User avatar lester.hettinger says:

      5 stars
This sounds amazing! I love how simple it is, perfect for hot days.

  33. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    2 stars
I tried it and honestly it came out kinda watery. I think the kiwi juice overpowered everything. Also my mint turned black fast, so presentation wasn’t cute.

    1. User avatar eusebia.yost says:

      4 stars
Mine was the opposite—mine tasted super tart but not watery 🤷‍♀️ Maybe your kiwis were extra juicy? Also black mint sounds like it hit the lime too long. I just sprinkle mint last last minute. (Sorry, I’m not a pro.)

    2. 4 stars
Ahh sorry it got watery! With kiwi especially, it can release a lot of juice after sitting. Next time I’d chill the dressing separately and toss right before serving, and maybe use less honey/lime so it doesn’t feel “washed out.” Also fresh mint sometimes browns/blackens if it sits in acidic lime—try adding mint at the very end.

  34. User avatar lakenya.spencer1952 says:

    2 stars
Why do you need to peel them? I just ate it whole! 🌍

  35. User avatar salena.boehm97 says:

    5 stars
This is such a fresh, pretty salad. The honey-lime combo really makes the dragon fruit pop, and the mint is a nice finishing touch. Would definitely make again for brunch!

  36. 4 stars
I did exactly this but my honey-lime sauce got kinda thick? Maybe I whisked too slowly. Tasted fine, just didn’t look as glossy. Would make again.

  37. 3 stars
Call me picky, but I’m not sure it’s a “salad” so much as fruit with dressing. Still tasty though—5/10 on health food vibes, 8/10 on flavor.

  38. User avatar geraldo.lindgren says:

    2 stars
Honestly, dragon fruit is expensive where I live. If you can get it cheap, do it. Otherwise kiwi-only versions are cheaper and pretty similar.

  39. 3 stars
Mint leaves? Who has those at home? Just use whatever you got!

  40. 3 stars
My dragon fruit was way underripe (I picked it wrong), so it was more watery than sweet. Still tasted good with the dressing though. Next time I’ll buy better fruit!

  41. User avatar shirly.walter55 says:

    3 stars
Why honey? Can’t I just use agave or even skip the sweet part? The fruit is already sweet enough for me.

  42. User avatar gonzalo.towne2024 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but my dressing came out a little too sharp with the lime. Next time I’ll use less lime juice or add a tiny bit more honey.

    1. User avatar al.ondricka54 says:

      3 stars
Wait, too sharp from lime? I’d just use more lime 😂. Or maybe kiwi is already acidic so it all adds up. Next time try less lime juice like you said, because honey’s supposed to balance it.

    2. User avatar patria.yost49 says:

      5 stars
Yeah, lime can be super punchy—your idea to cut back a little makes total sense. I usually start with 1/2 the lime juice and adjust from there. Love that you’re sweetening it with more honey too!

  43. 3 stars
Honestly, it tastes like fancy fruit. Not bad, just… very simple. I wanted more texture, so next time I might add some toasted nuts or coconut.

  44. 2 stars
Looks healthy, but I don’t get why honey needs to be added. Lime already has that tang. Would probably be better with no honey or a different sweetener.

  45. User avatar solange.crooks51 says:

    4 stars
My kiwi was super tart, so I added like another teaspoon of honey. Still turned out yummy—just taste as you go.

  46. User avatar crysta.schmeler72 says:

    3 stars
Mine turned kinda brown-ish after chilling for a while. I think I let it sit too long before serving. Still tasted good, just not as pretty.

  47. User avatar basementDweller says:

    3 stars
The amounts are weirdly small. “2 dragon fruit” depends on size, and mine was tiny—could’ve used more fruit for the dressing. Taste was okay though.

  48. 1 star
What even is dragon fruit? Can you just use apples instead? 🤔

    1. 2 stars
Why not just stick with apples? They’re easier to find and still taste good! 🤷‍♂️

    2. User avatar Lonnie Oberbrunner says:

      4 stars
Dragon fruit is super unique! It has a sweet and mildly tangy taste. Apples might not cut it for this recipe.

  49. User avatar Lunkwill and Fook says:

    1 star
meh. Tastes fine but nothing special.

    1. User avatar gregg.boehm45 says:

      3 stars
I get what you mean—it’s refreshing, but pretty simple. The honey-lime combo makes it pop though. Next time I might add a pinch of salt or a little chili for “something special.”

    2. User avatar demarcus.watsica20 says:

      4 stars
Hmm I disagree 😅 This is super bright and pretty filling for a salad. If you chill it longer (like 30-60 min) the flavor meshes better. Also, make sure the lime juice is fresh—bottled can be meh.

  50. User avatar katheleen.conn44 says:

    2 stars
kiwis are small but they take over the whole salad 😅 also I had no mint so I used basil—don’t do that again. Flavor was weird.

    1. User avatar laquanda.miller1967 says:

      4 stars
Oof, yeah kiwi can totally dominate a salad 😅 I usually do like 1 kiwi max (or half) if I’m not balancing it. And totally agree about the basil—mint is the vibe here. Next time, try extra lime/honey to smooth it out, and add mint at the end.

  51. User avatar rubin.nienow1963 says:

    3 stars
I tried this and it was okay, but I prefer just eating the fruit raw. Not sure the honey and lime is necessary.

  52. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    1 star
This seems like food for rabbits. Not for me.

  53. User avatar charita.parisian2009 says:

    4 stars
I mixed it up a bit and used orange juice instead of lime. Still super tasty!

  54. User avatar Magrathean sperm whale says:

    2 stars
I tried it but my dragon fruit got mushy fast 😭. Also the lime juice was sour like crazy. Not saying it’s bad—just didn’t work for my timing.

  55. 4 stars
Pretty good, super easy. I used a little less honey though because the kiwis were already really sweet. Still refreshing and not too tart.

  56. User avatar leigh.kihn46 says:

    5 stars
So good! I made it for a potluck and it disappeared. Everyone kept asking what dressing I used.

    1. User avatar joannie.lang2007 says:

      3 stars
Wait… honey + lime juice is the dressing? That seems way too simple lol. I might try it but I’ll probably add a little yogurt or something unless it’s supposed to be tangy only.

    2. User avatar ollie.mayer67 says:

      5 stars
Aww potluck success!! 😄 I love that you shared it—this honey-lime dressing is basically the whole magic. Glad people were asking!

  57. User avatar Dwarven Centurion says:

    2 stars
Not sure about the lime + honey ratio. Mine tasted weirdly sour-sweet, and I checked the measurements twice. Could be my limes? Anyway, I’d tweak it.

    1. User avatar Edris Wuckert Sr. says:

      3 stars
Hmm I dunno… I used the exact ratio and mine was super sour too, but I also used limes that weren’t very juicy. Maybe your limes were smaller/older? I’d just use more honey and forget the lime amount, lol.

    2. User avatar Carey Vandervort says:

      5 stars
Good call on tweaking it. With fruit like kiwi (often pretty tart), 1 tbsp lime + 1 tbsp honey can swing sour-fast depending on lime strength. Next time try a little less lime juice or add honey gradually—like 1 tsp at a time.

  58. User avatar neida.lockman42 says:

    2 stars
Cute name, but honestly I’d skip the honey. Dragon fruit is already sweet and the lime is doing a lot. Still, the mint garnish saved it for me.

    1. User avatar timothy.balistreri5 says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—dragon fruit can be sweet enough on its own. I usually go light on the honey (or swap it for a tiny drizzle) and let the lime and mint do the work too.

  59. User avatar sydney.brakus55 says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about the honey + lime, but it ended up working. The fruit tasted brighter instead of overly sweet.

  60. User avatar Super Saiyan 3 Goku says:

    2 stars
Mint leaves? Who has that just lying around? Boring.

    1. User avatar pura.braun1977 says:

      4 stars
You can find mint in the grocery store easily. It’s worth it for that fresh flavor!
