Baileys Tiramisu Cocktail

May 14, 2025

The Baileys Tiramisu Cocktail combines the smooth, creamy richness of Baileys Irish Cream with the classic flavors of tiramisu for an indulgent drink that’s perfect for dessert lovers. This cocktail takes the essence of the beloved Italian dessert – coffee, chocolate, and mascarpone – and transforms it into a luxurious, sippable treat.

To create this cocktail, begin by mixing equal parts Baileys Irish Cream and espresso or strong brewed coffee in a shaker. Add a splash of coffee liqueur, such as Kahlúa, to deepen the coffee flavor, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract for a touch of sweetness. Fill the shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice and top with a dollop of whipped cream for a creamy finish. To enhance the tiramisu flavor, garnish with a light dusting of cocoa powder or grated chocolate on top. For an added touch, you can even drizzle a bit of chocolate syrup along the sides of the glass for an extra layer of decadence.

The Baileys Tiramisu Cocktail is a modern dessert-inspired drink that draws its roots from the classic Italian dessert tiramisu, which originated in the Veneto region of Italy in the 1960s. Tiramisu, meaning “pick me up,” traditionally combines espresso, mascarpone, cocoa, and ladyfingers, flavors that naturally lend themselves to cocktail adaptations.

With the rise of flavored liqueurs like Baileys Irish Cream in the 1970s, bartenders began experimenting with dessert-style drinks that replicate beloved sweets. The Baileys Tiramisu Cocktail emerged as part of this trend, blending coffee, cream, and chocolate notes into a smooth, indulgent beverage that captures the essence of the original dessert while offering a contemporary twist for cocktail lovers.

How to make Baileys Tiramisu Cocktail

Honestly, I wasn’t sure about adding mascarpone, but it really does elevate the drink! Love it.

Great recipe! But I think maybe some whipped cream on top would be nice too.

Too creamy for my taste. I prefer my drinks a bit stronger. Not a fan.

Deliciousness in a glass! I could drink these every day! 😊

Mixing coffee and cream is plain stupid. Just drink them separately. 1 star for this nonsense.

    1. User avatar edgardo.kling91 says:

      5 stars
I completely disagree! Coffee and cream are a perfect match! This cocktail sounds delicious, and I’d give it a lot more than 1 star. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Looks good, but my friend said this could be way too sweet. Anyone else think so?

    2 stars
Ugh, my drink was all clumpy because of that mascarpone. Not cool!

Sounds good and all, but why not just drink Baileys straight? 🤷‍♂️

Easy to follow. But what’s espresso? Is that different from coffee? 1 star.

Is Starbucks coffee liqueur ok? I don’t know. I tried it but didn’t like it. 2 stars.

I totally understand! Starbucks coffee liqueur can be hit or miss. Maybe try a different brand next time?

  17. User avatar sidney.nader says:

    1. User avatar pattie.streich says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean about the sweetness! Maybe try adding more espresso or using less Baileys. Love tiramisu though!

    2. User avatar floretta.bayer92 says:

      3 stars
I dunno, I thought it was perfect! You must just have a different taste. Can’t say no to Baileys!

  18. User avatar joe_banana says:

    2 stars
Too sweet for my taste. I prefer my cocktails a bit more bitter. Not for me.

  19. User avatar jeffie.hoppe8 says:

    4 stars
Made it for guests—big hit. Only thing I’d change next time is a bit more cocoa on top (like, less stingy).

I tried this, but the mascarpone didn’t mix well. It was a bit clumpy… is that normal?

  27. 5 stars
    Wow. Easy and tasty.

  28. User avatar milford.labadie says:

    3 stars
Yum! But I’m not sure about the espresso. Just use instant coffee. Easier!

  29. User avatar dillon.king15 says:

    5 stars
This sounds dangerously easy and dangerously tasty. The espresso + Baileys combo is basically my personality in drink form 😄

    1. User avatar ignacio.casper2016 says:

      5 stars
Right?! It’s like dessert in a glass but somehow still feels “adult” because of the espresso 😄 The Baileys + espresso combo is dangerously perfect.

    2. User avatar adina.labadie32 says:

      3 stars
Wait, is it really just shake it and done? I’m always afraid the mascarpone will clump. Might need a blender or more espresso—still sounds good tho.

  30. User avatar mose.witting0 says:

    5 stars
This cocktail is amazing! Perfect balance of flavors. I make it every weekend now!

    1. User avatar wellRespected says:

      3 stars
I tried it too, but mine didn’t taste as good! Maybe I did something wrong? 🤔

  31. User avatar Chaurus Hunter says:

    5 stars
Yum! I added a splash of vanilla, and now my friends can’t get enough of it!

    1. User avatar Lucas Lowe says:

      5 stars
That sounds delicious! I never thought about adding vanilla! I’ll have to try that next time.

    2. User avatar kai.nienow says:

      3 stars
Vanilla? Really? I don’t think it fits with coffee… but whatever works for you, I guess.

  32. 3 stars
Didn’t turn out like I expected. The mascarpone didn’t blend well. Maybe I did something wrong?

    1. User avatar Galadriel says:

      4 stars
Sorry to hear that! Sometimes mascarpone can be tricky. Did you mix it in well enough?

    2. User avatar jamaal.roberts50 says:

      2 stars
Idk, I think it’s just u. Mascarpone works fine if you shake it right! Try again.

  33. User avatar bryan.murazik47 says:

    5 stars
This cocktail is just divine! So rich and creamy, perfect for coffee lovers!

  34. User avatar Hasimir Fenring says:

    3 stars
Kinda confusing, not sure if the espresso should be hot or cold… also, what is mascarpone? 🤷‍♂️

  35. 5 stars
Absolutely love this! It’s like dessert in a glass. Perfect for after dinner!

    1. User avatar olen.gibson2022 says:

      2 stars
Dessert in a glass? Really? How can that be? Seems too sweet for me.

    2. User avatar darrell.auer62 says:

      5 stars
This sounds amazing! I gotta try it. Thanks for sharing! 🍰

  36. User avatar karisa.trantow1962 says:

    4 stars
Okay but 2 tsp mascarpone seems like barely anything? I expected more thickness. Still, the flavor combo (Baileys + coffee liqueur) is spot on.

  37. User avatar damien.buckridge95 says:

    5 stars
I made this for a party, and everyone loved it! Just be careful not to drink too many.

  38. User avatar eleanore.wyman50 says:

    4 stars
It’s just like tiramisu in a glass! Who knew it could be this easy?

  39. User avatar agripina.hettinger says:

    3 stars
I love Baileys but I’m not sure about mixing it with coffee liqueur. Isn’t that overdoing it?

    1. User avatar ArabianNights says:

      2 stars
Why would you mix two coffee drinks? That’s just too much! Stick with one or the other.

    2. User avatar Tommye Strosin Sr. says:

      5 stars
I was skeptical too, but I tried it and it’s surprisingly good! The flavors blend nicely.

  40. User avatar darin.wolf28 says:

    4 stars
Shaking with ice should emulsify it nicely. If you don’t have a shaker, whisking would probably work too, though not the same vibe.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—shaking with ice helps it get that smooth, creamy texture. I tried just stirring once and it was nowhere near as nice.

  41. User avatar gaylord.hagenes1970 says:

    4 stars
I love tiramisu flavors, but I’m not sure about putting mascarpone in a cocktail shake. Still, the espresso part is promising—will try once.

  42. User avatar anissa.dietrich1977 says:

    2 stars
I tried this recipe but it didn’t work for me. The mascarpone clumped up. What did I do wrong?

  43. User avatar rochelle.lemke says:

    3 stars
Way too sweet for me. The coffee liqueur plus Baileys is probably overkill, but maybe I’ll cut the coffee liqueur to half.

    1. User avatar pearly.connelly1972 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this combo can get syrupy fast. Cutting the coffee liqueur in half sounds like a great fix without losing the flavor.

    2. User avatar julio.blick says:

      3 stars
Huh I like it sweet 😅 maybe use less Baileys instead? Also, espresso is strong so that probably needs sugar balance… right?

  44. User avatar Ismael Collins says:

    5 stars
This cocktail is amazing! So creamy and delicious. Perfect for dessert.

  45. User avatar hester.brakus31 says:

    5 stars
Tried this last weekend—so creamy and dessert-like. The espresso punch really makes it feel like tiramisu in a drink. Used slightly more cocoa on top and it was perfect.

    1. User avatar layne.denesik1969 says:

      3 stars
I made this and it was… okay. Mine turned kinda bitter even though I followed the steps. Maybe I used espresso too strong? Also I don’t have mascarpone, just cream cheese—would that ruin it?

    2. 5 stars
Yes!! I love that it still tastes like tiramisu but in a quick drink form. The cocoa on top makes a huge difference—more for me too next time 😄

  46. 4 stars
Easy and pretty fast. I used a stronger espresso and it really popped. Next time I might add a bit more cocoa on top because I love chocolate.

  47. User avatar merrill.west says:

    4 stars
Honestly, I was skeptical about putting mascarpone in a shaker, but it came together fine. Next time I’ll soften the mascarpone a bit more so it blends smoother.

  48. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    3 stars
I don’t know, I thought it was too sweet. Maybe less Baileys next time.

  49. User avatar elicia.ebert69 says:

    3 stars
This recipe sounds fancy! But my grandma used to make tiramisu with ladyfingers, not all this liquid!

  50. User avatar roy.stark1 says:

    2 stars
Not gonna lie, mascarpone + cocktail sounds kinda weird to me, like eating tiramisu through a straw. But I’m curious.

  51. User avatar Yooden Vranx says:

    2 stars
Kinda weird idea tbh. Like, is it a cocktail or just coffee with booze? Also I shook like 30 seconds and wasn’t sure it was “chilled”.

  52. User avatar steve_maga says:

    5 stars
This drink was a hit at my party! Everyone loved it! Definitely making again!

  53. User avatar Vladimir Harkonnen says:

    1 star
I don’t drink. Can I make this with chocolate milk instead?

  54. User avatar Sheena Bins says:

    4 stars
I made something similar and it split a bit when I didn’t shake long enough. Follow the “vigorously” part and strain carefully. Also, use real mascarpone, not some sweet cream cheese situation.

    1. User avatar prairie dog says:

      5 stars
Thanks! I think my “shake” was more like a gentle stir 😅 I’ll do it vigorously next time and strain carefully.

    2. User avatar julius.kiehn says:

      3 stars
Counterpoint: I don’t really like espresso in cocktails—could I sub cold coffee? Also I used cream cheese once and it was… fine? maybe not the same though.

  55. User avatar Dr. Suellen Nicolas says:

    5 stars
Amazing cocktail! Tastes just like dessert. So creamy and delish 😊

  56. 3 stars
Shaker? Wouldn’t a blender work better? I tried it without straining once and it was kinda chunky. Still, the cocoa garnish saves it.

  57. User avatar Wonko the Sane says:

    5 stars
Wow, this tastes like dessert in a glass. The mascarpone step makes it way smoother than I expected—great call adding cocoa on top too.

    1. User avatar alec.lehner says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—it’s like tiramisu but way quicker. I also love that cocoa on top; makes it taste more “real” dessert-y.

  58. User avatar clement.jaskolski24 says:

    4 stars
Solid combo: Baileys + espresso always hits. I was worried 2 tsp mascarpone wouldn’t do much, but I bet it smooths everything out. Nice garnish too—cocoa makes it feel fancy.

  59. User avatar ross.macgyver3 says:

    4 stars
Kinda weird that it’s called tiramisu, but tbh it still scratches the itch. I used a little extra cocoa on top and it looked legit.

    1. User avatar Tricia McMillan says:

      5 stars
Honestly the name threw me too, but “tiramisu” drinks do that. Extra cocoa always makes it look way more legit 😄

  60. 3 stars
Nice drink! Could use more coffee kick though. I like my drinks strong!

    1. User avatar sadye.mitchell says:

      5 stars
I totally agree! I added a shot of espresso and it was perfect! ☕

  61. User avatar miguel.auer43 says:

    5 stars
I made this and it was super smooth—shake longer than you think. Also, use real espresso, not instant.

    1. 5 stars
Yes! I did the same—shaking it longer makes it way smoother. I used freshly brewed espresso and it really pops.

    2. User avatar nicolas.bernhard says:

      3 stars
Okay but I used instant espresso because that’s what I had… still tasted pretty decent though. Next time I’ll try real espresso. 😅

  62. User avatar june.ankunding says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but mine ended up a little too thick/curdly. I think my mascarpone was cold when I added it—should’ve warmed it more. Flavor still good though.

  63. User avatar christoper.rau1973 says:

    5 stars
wow. first sip and instant tiramisu vibes. so good!!!

    1. User avatar lyle.sanford says:

      5 stars
Right?! The first sip is like dessert—smooth, creamy, and super coffee-forward. I added a little extra cocoa on top and it was perfect.

    2. User avatar christal.gusikowski says:

      3 stars
Hmm I tried it but mine tasted kinda bitter… maybe I used instant espresso? Also I didn’t have mascarpone so I used cream cheese and it wasn’t the same. Still cool idea though.

  64. 2 stars
I tried it but it came out too sweet and kinda heavy. Next time I’ll cut the coffee liqueur in half.

    1. 5 stars
Hmm yeah 15 ml coffee liqueur can be a lot for some palates. Cutting it in half sounds like a solid fix—also try a slightly less-sweet espresso if you can.

  65. User avatar Super Saiyan 2 Goku says:

    3 stars
Not sure about “tiramisu cocktail” without more steps. Like… where’s the ladyfingers or layering? Still, as a creamy coffee drink it might be good.

    1. User avatar Mr. Gemma White says:

      4 stars
Yeah I get what you mean—this is more like a tiramisu-flavored cocktail than the actual layered dessert. But the espresso + Baileys combo is definitely in the right direction.

  66. User avatar magaly.schowalter72 says:

    5 stars
This is dangerously easy. Shaking with ice makes it feel fancy, and the espresso + Baileys combo tastes like dessert in a glass.

  67. User avatar Genghis Khan says:

    2 stars
I tried making it but messed up the measurements. Ended up with a soup instead of a drink. 😭

  68. User avatar eura.hahn93 says:

    5 stars
This sounds dangerous in the best way—coffee + Baileys is basically dessert in a glass. I’m definitely trying it for my next night in.

  69. User avatar pilar.grady1979 says:

    5 stars
    Delish 😋

    1. User avatar Tom Bombadil says:

      5 stars
Delish indeed 😋 The espresso + coffee liqueur combo must taste so smooth!

    2. User avatar vincenzo.goldner14 says:

      4 stars
Wait—2 tsp mascarpone? I always mess up measurements 😅 But sounds like a fun drink. Gonna try it!

  70. 4 stars
The ratios are spot on. I made it with fresh espresso and it tasted way better than instant coffee. Sweet but still balanced.

    1. User avatar eldridge.satterfield says:

      4 stars
I used instant coffee once and it was… okay, but definitely not “wow.” Next time I’ll brew espresso. Also I was scared the mascarpone would be lumpy but shaking fixed it.

    2. 5 stars
Yes! Fresh espresso really makes a difference—instant coffee always tastes a bit harsh to me. Glad you nailed the balance.

  71. 4 stars
Can I make it without the coffee liqueur? I don’t like coffee.

  72. User avatar pasquale.bosco1986 says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about the mascarpone in a cocktail, but it actually blended nicely after a good shake.

  73. User avatar stormy.schmitt77 says:

    4 stars
Shaking with mascarpone was kinda tricky—mine clumped for a second, but after a couple extra shakes it came together. Still delicious!

    1. User avatar Chris Mass says:

      3 stars
Mine clumped too… I just stopped shaking and hoped for the best 😂 Ended up kinda lumpy but honestly still yummy. Maybe my espresso was too hot?

    2. User avatar kimbery.willms42 says:

      5 stars
Totally feel that—mascarpone can clump if it’s not fully softened. I started microwaving it for like 5–10 seconds and it mixes way smoother. Glad it still tasted great!

  74. User avatar laraine.block says:

    3 stars
Tasted great but really hard to make! I prefer ready-made drinks.

    1. User avatar marion.hettinger21 says:

      2 stars
Honestly, how hard can it be? Just mix stuff! 😂

    2. User avatar harriett.towne33 says:

      4 stars
I get you! Some recipes can be tricky. But with practice, it gets easier! 😊

  75. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    2 stars
Way too much coffee flavor for me 😅 but my husband loved it. If you’re sensitive to bitterness, maybe reduce the espresso slightly or go sweeter with the liqueur.

    1. User avatar adelle.larson says:

      4 stars
Oof, yeah I can see that—espresso + coffee liqueur together can get intense fast 😅 Next time I’ll try less espresso like you said!

  76. User avatar linwood.fahey1973 says:

    5 stars
This sounds dangerously good. The mascarpone step is the perfect creamy touch—kinda like a tiramisu in drink form. Gonna try it tonight!

  77. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    5 stars
This sounds dangerously easy—shaking a dessert drink is my kind of chaos. The mascarpone touch should make it extra creamy. Gonna try it with freshly brewed espresso for sure.

  78. 2 stars
I don’t think mascarpone goes in drinks, yall. Seems weird to me. But, hey, it works for some people!

  79. User avatar major.carroll4 says:

    3 stars
The coffee flavor is good, but mine turned a little grainy—probably my mascarpone wasn’t fully softened. Still drinkable, just not silky.

  80. User avatar santana.weimann says:

    4 stars
Tiramisu in a glass? Yes, please! Loved the flavors, but I think it could use a bit more cocoa on top.

  81. 3 stars
I’m skeptical about adding mascarpone to a cocktail—does it really dissolve with shaking? Mine turned slightly lumpy but still tasted amazing.

  82. User avatar Jonie Hettinger Jr. says:

    5 stars
    So good!!

    1. User avatar javier.lockman29 says:

      5 stars
Right?? The coffee + Baileys combo is dangerously good 😄

  83. 2 stars
My espresso wasn’t fully cooled when I started, so it didn’t chill right away and the texture was thinner. Still drinkable though—lesson learned.

  84. User avatar harlan.lockman says:

    4 stars
mmm. tastes like coffee ice cream mixed w booze. pretty good

  85. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    2 stars
I don’t know… I followed it exactly and it didn’t taste like tiramisu at all to me. More like coffee cream than tiramisu. Might be my espresso roast?

    1. User avatar shaneka.nikolaus says:

I had the same thought. My first sip was like “why is this sweet coffee?” I used a very dark espresso roast and it overpowered everything. Next time I’ll try a milder espresso or cut back the espresso a bit—maybe add extra Baileys. Also I didn’t soften mascarpone enough… could that mess it up?

Hmm, I get that—this is definitely more “tiramisu-inspired cocktail” than a true layered tiramisu. It doesn’t have the ladyfinger/biscuit + soaking vibe, so it can taste more like coffee cream. If your espresso roast is strong/bitter, it’ll lean even more coffee-forward.

I’m so glad you found it helpful! This cocktail is a game changer for coffee lovers.

Cocoa on top makes it look fancy. My guests would never guess it takes like 2 minutes. Great idea!

Shaker didn’t get it fully combined for me—maybe my mascarpone wasn’t softened enough. Straining helped a lot though.

Good point—softening mascarpone is huge. I usually let it sit out 10–15 min, then whisk it in with a splash of espresso first before adding to the shaker. Glad straining worked!

Huh, I had the opposite—mine combined fine even with cold mascarpone. Maybe you needed more shaking time? Or maybe your espresso was too hot? But straining makes sense either way.

I tried something like this and the mascarpone didn’t fully combine. Make sure it’s really softened like the recipe says—no lumps!

Good call—mascarpone can be stubborn. I usually press it against the bowl first (or warm it slightly) so it blends smooth before shaking.

Yummy! I added a bit of vanilla too, took it to another level. 😋
