Selena Gomez’s New OREO Flavor is here! Inspired by the star’s favorite childhood drink, the new sweet and spicy OREO flavor pays homage to horchata, with a twist that fans won’t want to miss.
This limited-edition cookie features two layers of crème filling: one flavored like chocolate and cinnamon, and the other like sweetened condensed milk with a hint of cinnamon sugar. The chocolate wafers are also lightly spiced, delivering a cozy, almost gingerbread-like flavor that sets this OREO apart from anything we’ve seen before.
In a press release, Selena shared the story behind the collaboration:
Making my own OREO cookie was a lot of fun. I grew up loving them, so being a part of this was a full-circle moment. The cinnamon flavor gives it that horchata feel, and I wanted it to bring a sense of comfort and nostalgia.”
Horchata, a beloved spiced drink popular in Mexico and Spain, was a staple of Gomez’s childhood. Her version was inspired by the Mexican-style drink made from rice, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar.
To make things even more special, each pack includes one of six different cookie embossments, including one that spells out “Selenators” – a sweet nod to her fans. And in about one in every three packs, lucky buyers will find a cookie stamped with Selena’s signature, marking a first in OREO’s history.
Selena Gomez’s new OREO flavor comes with a catch: they’re not gluten-free. Fans who follow a gluten-free diet will have to sit this one out, as the brand confirmed there are no current plans for a GF version.
Still, for those who can enjoy them, this flavor is more than just a cookie – it’s a nostalgic bite of Selena’s childhood, and a fun new way for her to connect with her fans. As she told PEOPLE:
