Garlic Butter Lobster Tails

March 16, 2026

Garlic butter lobster tails are a luxurious yet surprisingly simple dish that brings restaurant-quality flavor straight to your table. Perfect for special occasions or when you want to elevate a dinner at home, this recipe highlights the natural sweetness of lobster paired with rich, aromatic garlic butter.

Start by preparing the lobster tails. Using kitchen scissors, carefully cut through the top of the shell and gently lift the meat, placing it on top while keeping it attached at the base. This “butterflied” presentation not only looks elegant but also allows the meat to cook evenly and absorb more flavor.

In a small bowl, combine melted butter with minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. For added depth, you can mix in a pinch of cayenne pepper or a touch of parsley. Brush the garlic butter generously over the lobster meat, making sure it seeps into every crevice.

Place the prepared lobster tails on a baking sheet and broil them in a preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes, depending on their size. The lobster is done when the meat turns opaque and slightly firm, with a light golden finish on top. Be careful not to overcook, as lobster can quickly become tough.

As the lobster cooks, the garlic butter melts into the meat, creating a rich and flavorful sauce. For an extra indulgent touch, brush the tails with more garlic butter right after removing them from the oven.

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side. Garlic butter lobster tails pair beautifully with light sides such as steamed vegetables, rice, or a crisp salad, allowing the lobster to remain the star of the dish.

This dish offers a perfect balance of elegance and simplicity, making it an excellent choice for both intimate dinners and celebrations.
