Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 piece Chicken
  • 50 g Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Set aside.
  • In a pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken piece and season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until browned on both sides.
  • Add the rinsed rice to the pot and stir to combine with the chicken.
  • Pour in 2 cups of water (double the amount of rice) and bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  • Once the rice is done, remove it from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
  • Grate the cheese and sprinkle it over the cooked chicken and rice, allowing it to melt.
  • Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
