Teriyaki Beef and Mixed Greens Salad

August 9, 2023

Teriyaki Beef and Mixed Greens Salad is a delicious, light, and refreshing dish that balances the rich, savory flavors of teriyaki-marinated beef with the crisp, fresh texture of mixed greens. Perfect for a quick lunch or a light dinner, this salad is both satisfying and packed with vibrant flavors.

Start by preparing the beef, using a tender cut like flank steak or sirloin. Marinate the beef in a mixture of teriyaki sauce, garlic, ginger, and a bit of honey or brown sugar for added sweetness. Let the beef marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to soak in. Once marinated, grill or pan-sear the beef over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness. Allow the beef to rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

For the salad, choose a mix of fresh greens like spinach, arugula, and baby kale. Add in some crunchy vegetables like cucumber, bell peppers, and shredded carrots. If you like a bit of sweetness, you can also include mandarin orange segments or thinly sliced apples for an extra burst of flavor.

To dress the salad, whisk together a simple vinaigrette made from rice vinegar, sesame oil, a splash of soy sauce, and a touch of honey or brown sugar to enhance the teriyaki flavors. If you want a little heat, a dash of chili flakes or a drizzle of chili oil works beautifully.

Once everything is prepared, toss the greens and vegetables together in the dressing, then top with the thinly sliced teriyaki beef. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and a sprinkle of cilantro or mint for added freshness.

This Teriyaki Beef and Mixed Greens Salad is a balanced meal that’s both hearty and refreshing, combining tender beef with fresh vegetables and a flavorful dressing. It’s perfect for meal prep or a quick, nutritious weeknight dinner.

Horrible! My family didn’t like it at all. Beef didn’t mix well with the veggies.

What’s with the fancy ingredients? Just use BBQ sauce, it’s better and easier.

    1. User avatar tom.schuppe19 says:

BBQ sauce is good, but have you tried teriyaki? It adds a sweet and savory twist! Just saying!

Honestly, I found this kinda bland. The beef overcooked and I should’ve added more spice or something. Not sure I’ll try again.

    1. 2 stars
Bland? Really? I thought teriyaki sauce had flavor. You must’ve made it wrong, dude.

    2. User avatar jarrett.lueilwitz says:

I totally get what you mean! Sometimes beef can turn out tough if overcooked. Maybe try searing it less next time. And yeah, spices can really bring the flavor up a notch!

Isn’t teriyaki chicken more common? Why beef? 🤨 Anyway, I gave it a try and it was good.

    1. User avatar jovita.ledner45 says:

I think both are awesome! But beef has a nice flavor that chicken doesn’t have. Glad you liked it! 😊

  8. 2 stars
Kinda bland for my taste. I wish it had more spices or something. Not the best salad I’ve tried.

You can totally use pork! It would be yummy with teriyaki too! 😋

  24. 5 stars
Very good! I added some spicy sauce and it made it perfect. Give it a try if you’re into spicy! 🔥

  25. 3 stars
    I have a question! Can I use a different sauce? What if I don’t like teriyaki? 🤔

    1. User avatar chanell.pollich37 says:

You can totally use a different sauce! Maybe a honey mustard or a soy sauce? Just tweak the tanginess! 😊

    2. User avatar ArabianNights says:

I think teriyaki is best, but if u don’t like it, maybe try BBQ sauce? Just don’t expect the same flavor!

  26. 2 stars
I dunno, I think this is kinda overrated. Salad is salad. 😐
