Sausage and Kale Pasta Bake
A hearty and comforting pasta dish with savory sausage, tender kale, and a cheesy crust.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces pasta penne or similar
- 1 pound Italian sausage casings removed
- 1 bunch kale stems removed, chopped
- 1 cup marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned.
- Add the kale to the skillet and cook until wilted.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce mixture, then transfer to a baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is bubbly and golden, about 15-20 minutes.
