A hearty and comforting pasta dish with savory sausage, tender kale, and a cheesy crust.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces pasta penne or similar
  • 1 pound Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1 bunch kale stems removed, chopped
  • 1 cup marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned.
  • Add the kale to the skillet and cook until wilted.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce mixture, then transfer to a baking dish.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is bubbly and golden, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Serve warm and enjoy your sausage and kale pasta bake.
