Ritzy Cookies

August 26, 2024

Ritzy Cookies with Peanut Butter Filling are the ultimate treat for those who crave a perfect balance of buttery sweetness and savory peanut butter. These cookies are a fun and indulgent twist on traditional sandwich cookies, with a rich, crispy cookie base and a creamy, smooth peanut butter center. The combination of flavors and textures makes them irresistible, whether you’re enjoying them as a snack or serving them at a party or gathering.

The magic of Ritzy Cookies lies in their simplicity. The outer cookies are made from a buttery dough that’s rich and slightly crisp, giving them a satisfying texture. The flavor is subtly sweet and pairs perfectly with the creamy peanut butter filling that’s sandwiched between two cookies. The peanut butter adds a savory depth to the sweetness of the cookie, creating a flavor contrast that’s both indulgent and comforting.

Making Ritzy Cookies with Peanut Butter Filling is easy, and the result is a batch of cookies that are as delicious as they are visually appealing. The cookie dough is prepared with ingredients like butter, sugar, and a hint of vanilla, which creates a rich, flavorful base. The peanut butter filling is simple to make as well, with creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and a touch of vanilla to make it smooth and spreadable.

The cookies can be shaped into round discs and baked until they are golden brown, allowing the texture to remain crisp. Once they’ve cooled, a generous spoonful of the peanut butter filling is added between two cookies, creating a sandwich of sweet and savory goodness.

These Ritzy Cookies with Peanut Butter Filling are highly customizable. You can add chocolate chips to the cookie dough or drizzle melted chocolate over the finished cookies for an extra layer of sweetness. If you prefer a more decadent touch, sprinkle the cookies with sea salt to complement the rich peanut butter flavor.

Perfect for satisfying any sweet tooth, these cookies are a hit for cookie lovers and peanut butter enthusiasts alike. Whether served at a holiday party, packed in a lunchbox, or enjoyed with a glass of milk, Ritzy Cookies with Peanut Butter Filling will quickly become a favorite treat in your baking repertoire.

Could you use chocolate chips instead? I didn’t have candy melts and ended up with a thicker coating. Kinda worked, but not the same vibe.

  2. User avatar Bilbo Baggins says:

    3 stars
I followed the steps but my coating was kinda thick and not super smooth. Tasted good though—would try thinner coating next time.

  3. User avatar jeffrey.bergstrom says:

    1. Melt. 2. Sandwich. 3. Dip. 4. Wait. Super simple. Five stars.

  4. User avatar venessa.grady says:

    5 stars
These are dangerously good. The peanut butter + Ritz combo is so salty-sweet, and the candy coating makes them look way more “fancy” than they are.

  5. 5 stars
These are dangerously easy. I did 30 seconds for the melts and stirred once—came out smooth. The PB + Ritz combo is weirdly perfect.

    1. User avatar kasha.koch24 says:

      5 stars
Honestly I’m with you—these are basically foolproof. I did the same short melt + one stir and they came out glossy smooth too. The PB + Ritz combo is such a “why does this work?” moment.

  6. 2 stars
    😐 Meh.

  7. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, 40 seconds in my microwave was way too much—some of the candy got clumpy. I had to start over and melt in shorter bursts. Taste is still great.

  8. User avatar Loonquawl and Phouchg says:

    5 stars
These are super easy to make and taste incredible! My kids love them!

  9. 2 stars
I used almond butter instead of peanut butter and now they’re kinda falling apart? Maybe I did something wrong but I’m not obsessed.

    1. User avatar Jimmie Rosenbaum says:

      4 stars
Ah yeah—almond butter is usually thinner and oilier than peanut butter, so it can make the sandwich not “stick” as well. I’d try chilling the nut butter for a bit first or using a thicker peanut/almond butter next time.

  10. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    3 stars
Mine seized a bit in the microwave (oops—my candy melts were older). Still tasted fine, just looked kinda chunky.

    1. User avatar Mr. Gordon Berge says:

      4 stars
Ahh that chunky look happens when the candy melts are a bit past their prime—still, good to hear it tasted fine! Next time try stirring every 15 seconds so it doesn’t seize.

    2. User avatar Chaurus Hunter says:

      3 stars
Seized?? Mine would’ve turned into rock lol. I think microwave timing is everything—40 sec seems short/long depending on the wattage. Did you stir at all? Mine always turns out smooth with fresh melts.

  11. User avatar tonisha.stehr says:

    5 stars
These were dangerously easy. I used chunky peanut butter and the crunch with the candy coating is perfect. 10/10 snack for movie night!

    1. User avatar dillon.marvin71 says:

      5 stars
Right?! I made these in like 10 minutes and they turned out way better than I expected. Chunky peanut butter + the candy shell is such a good combo.

    2. User avatar donnie.fritsch48 says:

      4 stars
Dangerously easy is accurate 😅 I used smooth peanut butter though—still good, but I think chunky would’ve had more texture. Movie-night approved!

  12. 4 stars
Followed the steps exactly but my melts got a little thick after heating too long. Next time I’ll do shorter bursts. Still tasty though.

  13. 5 stars
These are dangerously good—sweet, salty, and so easy. I used dark chocolate candy melts and they still turned out perfect.

    1. User avatar rodger.roob1995 says:

      5 stars
Omg that sounds dangerously good 😅 I’ve got dark chocolate candy melts too—good to know they’ll still set up “perfect.” Did you melt them in short bursts or just one go?

  14. 5 stars
These cookies are the bomb! Super easy to make and so yum 😋

    1. 5 stars
I tried these and they turned out great too! Thanks for sharing! 😍

  15. User avatar garland.bogisich10 says:

    5 stars
Not gonna lie, I made these once and everyone asked for the recipe. Super easy even when you’re not “baking” for real.

  16. User avatar virgil.purdy58 says:

    3 stars
Are you suer this is correct? It just seems wrong to me.

    1. 4 stars
I think it’s right! Ritz crackers and peanut butter are a classic combo. Give it a try!

    2. User avatar Madam Aroma says:

      2 stars
No way! Ritz and candy melts? That sounds gross! How can that even work?

  17. 2 stars
I don’t get why people use candy melts—why not just chocolate? Also, letting them cool 45 minutes feels kinda long for a snack.

  18. User avatar benedict.conn says:

    3 stars
I love the idea, but 20 melts felt like too many/too little? My batch came out clumpy because I probably didn’t measure right. Still cute!

  19. User avatar Blue Dartwing says:

    3 stars
Tasted okay but the melting took forever. Maybe I did it wrong? Who knows.

    1. 4 stars
I had the same issue! It can be tricky sometimes. Make sure the microwave isn’t on too high power next time!

    2. User avatar ashli.champlin38 says:

      5 stars
Yeah, it took me a while too, but they were worth the wait! Just don’t give up. 😊

  20. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    3 stars
What can I use instead of candy melts? Maybe chocolate chips?

  21. User avatar teodora.sporer24 says:

    5 stars
Not gonna lie, I didn’t measure anything and they still turned out. Kids loved them and I felt like a genius for 30 minutes.

  22. 3 stars
Ritz crackers and peanut butter? Sounds weird but actually so good! Who knew?

    1. User avatar genevieve.toy39 says:

      5 stars
I know right? It’s like a gourmet snack! Can’t believe I never tried it before. Yum!

  23. User avatar adan.kemmer2020 says:

    4 stars
The wax paper stuck to mine a bit. Next time I’ll let them cool longer or use parchment. Flavor is still on point.

    1. User avatar Max Quordlepleen says:

      5 stars
Ugh, wax paper can be such a pain. Parchment is the move—especially with candy melts. Glad the flavor still nailed it!

    2. User avatar adrianna.bernier77 says:

      3 stars
Maybe don’t dip so long? I think mine stuck too but I figured it’s because I didn’t spray the wax paper (not sure tho). How long did you cool before touching?

  24. User avatar alex.marks1992 says:

    1 star
Ritz crackers are so salty! It kinda ruins the sweet candy taste.

    1. User avatar frederick.nitzsche says:

      4 stars
I think the saltiness actually balances the sweetness! Just my opinion.

  25. User avatar alec.graham69 says:

    2 stars
I don’t know, it seems kinda weird to put peanut butter between crackers. Isn’t that just a sandwich? 🤔

  26. User avatar Britany Collier says:

    4 stars
I’m not gonna lie, I thought Ritz + peanut butter would taste too salty, but the candy coating saved it. Really good snack.

  27. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

    5 stars
I used crunchy peanut butter and the texture was amazing. Next time I’ll add sprinkles before they set. Definitely making these again.

  28. User avatar robin.heaney98 says:

    2 stars
Who even thought of this? Ritz for dessert? 🤔

  29. User avatar carter.kertzmann says:

    3 stars
Mine didn’t fully coat nicely—looked streaky. Not sure if I dipped too fast or if the melts got too thick. Still yummy though, just not pretty.

  30. User avatar brittney.yost30 says:

    4 stars
I tried them exactly as written and they came out pretty good, but my candy melts seized a little in the microwave. I’d recommend shorter bursts and stirring.

  31. User avatar milagro.rogahn says:

    3 stars
I tried making these, but the candy melts didn’t melt right. They’re just not right.

  32. 5 stars
These cookies are brilliant! The sweet and salty combo is just perfect. My kids loved them!

  33. User avatar Amada Hagenes says:

    3 stars
I tried dipping but my fork left lines and the coating dripped everywhere. Messy, but the kids ate them anyway 😂

    1. User avatar antone.leffler12 says:

      4 stars
Aw man—yeah the fork grooves can leave those little streaks. Next time try a lighter dip (quick dunk, lift straight up) and make sure the candy melts aren’t too thick—maybe add a tiny bit more melts or stir well so it flows smoother.

  34. User avatar thanh.osinski2023 says:

    4 stars
Made these for my kids and they went crazy for them! Will definitely make again. Thanks, Maurice!

  35. User avatar lean.roberts6 says:

    2 stars
Why peanut butter though—would Nutella ruin it? Like, I’m thinking swap and go. (I might try it anyway.)

  36. 5 stars
These are dangerously good. The sweet + salty combo hits every time, and the candy melts make them look fancy for basically no effort.

  37. 4 stars
Great for parties! I usually just use any cracker I have.

    1. User avatar orville.gutkowski87 says:

      5 stars
I love how easy these are! Perfect for when friends come over.

  38. User avatar cameron.wuckert91 says:

    5 stars
Ritz + PB + chocolate = yes. Super quick snacks.

  39. User avatar roland.cummerata66 says:

    4 stars
Candy melts are my weakness. I love the salty-sweet combo, but mine stuck to the wax paper a bit—parchment might be better.

    1. User avatar meri.nitzsche41 says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—candy melts can be so moody. Parchment usually behaves way better than wax paper for sticking. Also try letting them set on a flatter surface so they don’t grab as they cool.

  40. User avatar harriette.pagac says:

    4 stars
This recipe is awesome! I added some sprinkles on top of the chocolate 🍪

  41. 2 stars
40 seconds is not enough for my microwave. I had to do it in shorter bursts, otherwise it scorched. Lesson learned 😅

  42. User avatar Shai Utoh says:

    5 stars
These are dangerously easy. The peanut butter + candy coating combo is chef’s kiss. I might add a tiny pinch of salt to the PB next time—just to make them pop.

  43. User avatar katelin.donnelly19 says:

    5 stars
So easy to make! I made these for my book club and they were a hit!

  44. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    3 stars
Too sweet for my taste. I don’t think I’ll make them again.

  45. User avatar Septimus says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have candy melts, so I used chocolate chips instead. Still turned out great!

    1. User avatar mike.goldner84 says:

      5 stars
Awesome! I’m glad it still worked out for you! Chocolate chips sound yummy too.

    2. User avatar cayla.buckridge says:

      3 stars
I’ve heard chocolate chips don’t melt the same way. Are you sure it turned out great?

  46. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    5 stars
Super easy and fun to make! My friends loved them at the party!

    1. User avatar Shandy Lear says:

      5 stars
Glad to hear it! These are a hit at any gathering. I can’t believe how easy they are to make! 😍

  47. User avatar pauline.lowe95 says:

    1 star
Wut? Ritz and chocolate? Sounds like the worst combo ever.

  48. 2 stars
Why not just buy the chocolate-covered stuff at the store? Idk, it’s good, but seems like extra steps for the same thing. Could be better if there was more explanation about coating.

  49. 5 stars
OMG! Simply delicious! I couldn’t stop eating them 😋

  50. User avatar yoshie.pacocha1980 says:

    1 star
I tried making these but the melted candy glued everything together. Total disaster!
    Would not recommend at all.

    1. User avatar carla.casper says:

      3 stars
I don’t think it’s a disaster! Just needs practice. Maybe less candy next time? Don’t give up!

    2. User avatar Leto II Atreides says:

      4 stars
Sounds like you might have used too many candy melts! I had a similar issue once. You just need to coat them lightly! Try again, they can be delicious!

  51. User avatar virginia.grady1963 says:

    2 stars
Just okay. I expected more flavor or something. Maybe I did it wrong.

    1. User avatar catrice.connelly99 says:

      3 stars
I think you might need more candy melts! They really make a difference in taste. 🥴

    2. User avatar gregory.goodwin56 says:

      4 stars
I don’t get how these could be flavorless! It’s got peanut butter and chocolate! Maybe you used old ingredients?

  52. User avatar enid.doyle15 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, candy melts are kinda weirdly waxy to me. I subbed chocolate chips instead and it tasted way better, but the basic idea is solid.

  53. User avatar lucien.wiza53 says:

    2 stars
Not sure about mixing RITZ crackers with sweets. Sounds weird to me.

  54. 5 stars
These reminded me of my childhood snacks. Nostalgic! 💖

  55. User avatar jamey.brakus says:

    2 stars
Too much work for a cookie, I just eat the crackers with peanut butter.
    Who needs all that extra?

  56. User avatar twyla.lehner says:

    2 stars
I don’t get it. Ritz crackers and candy? Sounds weird.

    1. 5 stars
I thought the same thing at first, but these are actually super tasty! The sweet and salty combo is just perfection 😍. Trust me, you should try them!

    2. User avatar Mrs. Aurelia Cremin says:

      2 stars
Seems kinda strange to me too. I guess people just like mixing flavors? I wouldn’t put crackers in my desserts though.

  57. User avatar zaida.mccullough20 says:

    4 stars
30-45 minutes is too short if your kitchen is warm. Mine were soft and not set, so I ended up waiting longer.

  58. User avatar eric.zulauf says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I thought it would be too sweet, but the Ritz texture actually helps. Still, 20 melts seems like a lot or maybe I used bigger pieces?

  59. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
The instructions are simple, but the timing is off for my microwave. Mine needed way more than 40 seconds. Also, wax paper is a must—otherwise it sticks.

  60. 4 stars
I followed the steps pretty much exactly and they turned out great—crunchy Ritz with sweet PB. Only thing is I needed a little longer than 40 seconds to melt all the candy.

    1. User avatar Random Dent says:

      5 stars
Good to hear! I’ve had the same issue—microwaves vary a lot, so adding a bit more time to fully melt the candy melts makes sense. Crunchy PB-Ritz is such a good combo.

  61. 3 stars
I’m skeptical about candy melts. They taste kinda waxy sometimes. These were okay, but I’d rather use real chocolate next time.

  62. User avatar Oswaldo Schaefer says:

    3 stars
    okay

    1. User avatar dorsey.olson26 says:

      5 stars
Nice! These look super easy—like 5 steps and you’re done.

  63. User avatar joesph.boyle2013 says:

    3 stars
My fork left streaks and the coating looks kinda messy. Taste is great, but presentation needs work.

  64. User avatar Reita Langworth says:

    5 stars
I mean… Ritz + peanut butter + chocolate is basically cheating. So good. My kids absolutely demolished them.

  65. User avatar Super Saiyan Gohan says:

    2 stars
Too sweet for me. Also 40 seconds was not enough—more like 60-70 in my microwave.

  66. User avatar ivan.morar12 says:

    5 stars
Just made these, they are DELICIOUS! I added some sprinkles on top! 😋

    1. User avatar Sal Sage says:

      5 stars
Sounds amazing! I bet the sprinkles added a nice touch! 🍪✨

  67. User avatar rosendo.barrows35 says:

    2 stars
Am I the only one who burnt the candy melts? 40 seconds must vary by microwave—mine went from melted to yikes in like 25 seconds.

  68. User avatar Effrafax of Wug says:

    4 stars
I’m not good at cooking, but these were easy to follow! Thanks!

  69. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    4 stars
Pretty simple and honestly pretty fun to make. Mine took a little longer than 40 seconds to melt the candy melts, but the results were still great.

    1. User avatar mitsuko.pacocha80 says:

      5 stars
Love that! Mine always takes a bit longer too—microwaves vary so much. Glad yours still turned out great 😊

    2. User avatar natosha.mayer1973 says:

      4 stars
40 seconds? Mine definitely wouldn’t. I think I’d need like 2 minutes or I’d get half-melted candy melts and it’d be a mess. Still, sounds kinda good—like dessert-ish Ritz PB sandwiches.

  70. User avatar Frost Giant says:

    5 stars
Can’t believe I actually made these. Walmart candy melts melted faster than I expected. 30-45 min is accurate.
