Not bad, but 1 tsp cinnamon feels too much for me. I’d cut it in half and maybe add more nutmeg to balance it.
I dunno… my cupcakes tasted kinda bland. Maybe I needed more spices? Gonna try adding more cinammon next time.
Honestly… I don’t even have pumpkin, so I used sweet potato puree. And uh, it worked?? But I’m not sure I’d trust it for “exact” cupcakes.
These smell AMAZING while baking. I used a little extra cinnamon and the flavor is perfectly cozy. Texture was fluffy even the next day!
Right?! The cinnamon/ginger smell is unreal. I love that they stay fluffy the next day too—makes it feel extra “worth it.”
Idk why these cupcakes were soggy. I followed the recipe!
Followed the recipe exactly, but mine were too dry. What did I do wrong?
Pumpkin is for Halloween, not cupcakes! 😛 But I guess some people like it. Not my thing.
I totally disagree! Pumpkin cupcakes are delicious. You’re missing out! 🎃
I don’t know about the spices. Seems like too much cinnamon. Maybe I’ll skip some next time.
Not bad, but I think I prefer carrot cake over pumpkin 😕
Made these for my office and they went like crazy! Everyone asked for the recipe!
That’s awesome! I’ve been looking for a pumpkin recipe for the fall. Can you share how you frosted them?
Nice! I added some chocolate chips and it was amazing.
I don’t usually bake cupcakes, but these were forgiving. The spices feel like they belong. I added a pinch more cinnamon to the frosting and it really popped.
I tried this and… mine came out kinda dense, not fluffy like the description. I think I might’ve creamed too long? Also I didn’t have nutmeg so I used extra ginger, maybe that threw it off. Still tasted good though—spices were on point.
Yes! Pumpkin + warm spices is such a winning combo. I’m glad the batter was forgiving—mine usually gets cranky with overmixing, so this is comforting to hear. Adding a pinch more cinnamon to the frosting is such a good call.
So yummy and easy to make! The spices are just right. Perfect for Thanksgiving!
I think I might try adding some nuts next time. What do you think?
350°F is kinda low? I baked mine at 375 like my usual cupcakes and they came out more golden and less pale. Maybe your oven runs cool? 😅
idk if i did sum wrong but they tasted kinda bland without frosting. maybe i shouldve used more pumpkin? i mean, pumpkin is in there… right?
My kids loved these! Perfect for Halloween parties! 🎃
Yummm! Just what I needed for fall! I added chocolate chips and they were amazing.
Chocolate chips sound like a delicious addition! I’m going to try that next time! Thanks for the tip!
I dunno, chocolate with pumpkin? Seems weird. But if you liked it, who am I to judge?
These are okay. The spice is there, but I wish it was more pumpkin-y and less cinnamon-forward. Still, not bad for quick cupcakes.
Didnt have butter so used margarine, still came out yummy!
Soo good!! I added some chocolate chips and they were divine. Will definitely make again! 😀
Chocolate chips just take it to the next level! 👍 I’m glad you enjoyed them! Can’t wait to try your version!
I didn’t have ground cloves, so I used extra nutmeg. Still delicious—just slightly less “pumpkin spice” vibes. Would make again.
Ooh that makes sense—cloves are pretty strong, so extra nutmeg would soften it a bit. Glad it still worked out! Pumpkin cupcakes are my weakness 😄
DIDN’T RISE ENOUGH 😩. Followed everything, toothpick clean, but they’re kinda flat. Maybe my baking soda is old? Still pretty tasty.
Pumpkin in cupcakes? Is that even a thing? Thought it was for pies. But these are really delightful! Who knew?!
I followed the steps exactly and they came out a little dense. I think I overmixed when adding the dry ingredients—next time I’ll mix just until combined.
Wow, these were beyond delicious! I added walnuts for a little crunch. My friends can’t stop raving about them. Def doing this again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m glad you liked them! Adding walnuts is a great idea! 😍 I’ve been thinking about making these too, but what if I substitute the pumpkin? Any suggestions?
I used pumpkin purée (not pie filling) and it mattered. Great flavor. Also, pro tip: don’t skip creaming butter and sugar.
I’m skeptical about the 1 cup canned pumpkin amount—mine felt too wet at first. I whisked longer to get the batter right and they ended up okay, but I wouldn’t call it effortless.
Totally get that—pumpkin cans can vary a lot. If yours felt wet, I bet it was slightly more liquid or you didn’t drain it. Glad whisking longer helped though!
Hmm I used 1 cup canned pumpkin and mine were perfect, not too wet at all. Maybe your eggs or butter temp threw it off? I always whisk the pumpkin a bit before adding.
I tried this recipe but it didn’t rise well. Not sure if I mixed it too much or what happened. The taste was decent but the texture was off. I’m giving it a 3.
Great recipe! But I used half the sugar and they were still sweet! 👍
That’s awesome! I might try using less sugar next time too. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Wait, how can they be sweet with half the sugar? 🤔 Guess my taste buds are broken.
YALL! These cupcakes are life-changing. Seriously, best recipe ever!
I totally agree! These cupcakes changed my life too! Just made a batch and they didn’t last long. 😍
My batter was too thick…does baking powder really expire? I’m confused.
I don’t get how baking powder can go bad. I always just use what I have. But maybe you just added too much flour? It could happen!
Yes, baking powder can definitely expire! If it’s been sitting in your pantry for a while, it might not work as well. You can test it by adding a bit to warm water and see if it bubbles. If it doesn’t, it’s time to toss it!
I substituted coconut flour, they came out like bricks! Don’t do it!
Very tasty! But where’s the chocolate? I mean, chocolate makes everything better.
These cupcakes are amazing! So moist and flavorful. Perfect for fall!
The spices were too much for my taste. I prefer simpler flavors, but my kids loved them!
Confused about the milk part. Is it necessary? I skipped it and they were fine.
Skipping the milk seems to work for you, but it does help with the moisture! I wouldn’t recommend it if you want them fluffy.
Mmmmm, the spices are on point! Great recipe for Halloween party!
Great recipe! Easy to follow and my kids loved them. Will make again! 😉
Wot kind of pumpkins do you use? I jus got a can from the store 😳
I followed it exactly and they were tasty, but a little dense. Next time I’ll sift the dry ingredients and maybe don’t mix as long. Could be my baking soda is old.
Mine sank a bit in the middle, not gonna lie. I think I overmixed after adding flour. Still tasted amazing though, so I’ll try again and be gentler.
These cupcakes are soooo good! 😍
Not gonna lie, I don’t like pumpkin in cupcakes. It tastes kinda bland to me, and the spices are too much. Maybe I’ll try again with less cinnamon.
Just okay. Prefer chocolate over pumpkin any day. Might try again but with a twist.
Really good flavor! I followed everything except I only had fresh nutmeg so I used a little extra, and it still worked. Texture was great too.
Love hearing that! Extra nutmeg is totally believable with these—pumpkin + warm spices can handle it. 😄
I followed the recipe exactly but my cupcakes came out super dense. What did I do wrong?
Made these last night and they smelled like a cozy fall candle in the oven. Super moist and the spice mix is spot on. I used a little extra cinnamon in the frosting and it was perfection.
I followed the recipe exactly but mine came out too dry. What did I do wrong?
These were absolutely delicious! Perfect for fall!
I don’t know, I think there was too much pumpkin? Or maybe I just don’t like pumpkin that much.
Are you sure these are cupcakes and not muffins? Seem like they should be more sweet.
The directions are clear, but “mix until just combined” saved me—overmixing would’ve ruined it. Texture was moist and fluffy.
I kinda disagree—if it says mix until just combined, I usually mix a tiny bit longer? Like 2-3 min on medium. Also 18-20 minutes seems short to me… maybe my oven runs cold. Still, pumpkin cupcakes are always good.
Yes!! “Just combined” is the secret. I learned that the hard way once and my cupcakes turned out chewy instead of tender 😅 Your moist + fluffy combo sounds perfect.
Delicious! I added some chocolate chips for extra fun 😍
Just ok. I expected more flavor. Are you sure this makes 12 cupcakes? Seems like less!
Not sure about the canned pumpkin amount—1 cup seems small compared to the rest. I used 15 oz can and it was perfect though, so maybe I was overthinking.
I think 1 cup canned pumpkin is right—most 15 oz cans are about 1.5 cups total, so you just don’t use the whole thing. Your “15 oz worked” makes sense if you measured more than the recipe calls for (or if your can size/measurement was different).
15 oz can perfect?? That sounds like you maybe accidentally used the full amount, lol. I’ve always done 1 cup pumpkin and they come out moist but not gummy. Maybe yours were a bit denser but still delicious.
Meh. Cupcakes came out okay, but I swear my toothpick never got “clean” even after 20 min. Ended up underbaked, I think.
My family demolished these in like 10 minutes 😅 Moist, perfectly spiced. I’m making them again for Thanksgiving.
I tried this but mine came out kinda dense… probably overmixed? Also 1 cup pumpkin is usually for a full loaf, so I wasn’t sure about the amount. Still decent though—will try again with less mixing.
Just made these today and omg—so moist! The spice balance is spot on. I did bake them 19 minutes and they came out perfect. Definitely adding to our Thanksgiving rotation 😄
These cupcakes are delicious! I made them for a fall gathering and everyone loved them. Will definitely make again!
Absolutely love these! Perfect for fall gatherings. 🍂
Creaming butter and sugars “until light and fluffy” is hard for me. I probably didn’t cream long enough, but the taste was still great—will try longer.
Too much spice for my taste! I like the pumpkin but not all those added flavors. 😕
These are better than the box mix I tried once. But I wish the recipe gave frosting instructions, because “frost with cream cheese frosting” is vague for beginners.
These pumpkin cupcakes are absolutely delicious! Perfect for fall! 🍂
Yummm!! I’m not even a pumpkin fan but these cupcakes are sooo good! Definitely recommend! 👍
I don’t get how these are cupcakes. They taste like muffins to me.
I accidentally used salted butter instead of unsalted and they were still fine. Might be why the salt felt a little strong, but overall good.
Salted butter “still fine” is honestly surprising to me 😅 but maybe canned pumpkin is sweet enough to balance it. I’d try unsalted next time though just to compare.
Oh good to know! I always forget whether my butter is salted or not. If it tastes a bit strong, could just reduce the added salt next time (or use unsalted).
Yum! I’ll be making these every month! ❤️
Just okay, not bad, also not super exciting. Meh.
Delicious! Not too sweet but super moist. My hubby loves them! 🍰❤️
I accidentally used sweet potato instead of pumpkin. Still tasted ok, but different!
The ginger/nutmeg/cloves combo is kinda wow. I’m usually skeptical about cloves but it works here.
Cupcakes are alright. Took longer to bake than 20 mins tho. Next time I’ll check them earlier.
The ingredient list is solid. 1 cup canned pumpkin is my favorite part. I added chopped pecans and it elevated them a lot.
Totally agree—canned pumpkin makes these so much easier and consistent. Pecans sound like the perfect crunchy upgrade. Did you toast them first?
Hmm I’m not sure about the pecans. Pumpkin cupcakes already have a lot going on with the spices—might get too heavy? But I guess if you chop them small it could be nice.
I followed this recipe but they came out too dry. Any tips?
I was skeptical about the ginger + cloves combo, but wow. It’s not overpowering, just warm. Also, 350°F worked perfectly and the toothpick test was legit.
These turned out super fluffy and the spice blend is spot-on. I used fresh nutmeg too—made the whole kitchen smell like fall. Would definitely bake again.
Why do we even need all those spices? Just use cinnamon, less complicated.
Great recipe, but I gotta say, I forgot to add the vanilla! Oops.
I may be wrong but I think the baking soda might be unnecessary if there’s baking powder too. I didn’t change it though—just wondering.
You’re not crazy—baking powder and baking soda do overlap. Baking soda is usually about balancing acidity (like sour milk/buttermilk), so since pumpkin is a bit acidic, it likely helps too. I’d keep both as written unless you’re testing replacements.
I followed the recipe exactly and they were perfect. The spice mix tastes really balanced, not too heavy on any one thing.
My kids loved these! I omitted the cloves because we didn’t have any and they still turned out yummy!
That’s awesome! Love that your kids enjoyed them. Omitting cloves is a good idea if you don’t have them. Will definitely try that next time!
Not gonna lie, I found it a bit too sweet. Also, I’m not sure about the flour amount vs pumpkin—doughy at first until I rested it.
I don’t have pumpkin can, can I use fresh pumpkin? Anyone tried that?
I tried making these, but they came out kinda dry. Maybe I overbaked them? Not sure what went wrong.
Overbaking can definitely dry them out! Maybe try reducing the baking time a bit next time. Hope you give them another shot!
I used pumpkin purée (not pie filling) and followed the mixing steps—came out fluffy. Cinnamon/ginger is on point. 10/10 comfort food.
Not gonna lie, 18-20 minutes is a long time—mine were kinda dry by 20. Next time I’ll check at 16-18.
I was skeptical about the ginger + cloves combo but wow. It actually tastes like fall, not like soap. Would make again.
I’m not sure about the cloves either… like, wouldn’t it taste kinda medicinal? I might reduce it next time. Still, pumpkin cupcakes at 350 for 18-20 min sounds right.
Same here—I thought cloves would be way too intense, but it’s actually warm and balanced. “Tastes like fall” is so accurate 😂
Yall should try adding whipped cream on top, itz even better!
Yum! Made for a party and they were gone in minutes.
I don’t like pumpkin that much, but these were really good. Might make again!
The ingredient list looks solid, but I wish it included how much frosting. I tried to wing it and it turned into a frosting situation 😂
No worries, just wing it like a pro 😎 What I do: make frosting, then stop when it looks right. Baking is more art than math sometimes. (But I get your point—recipes should say how much!)
😂 I feel this! Yeah, the ingredient list doesn’t specify the frosting quantity, so it’s super easy to over/under-shoot. I usually make enough cream cheese frosting to generously cover each cupcake—if you like thick swirls, you’ll want a bit more than “just a light spread.”
Cream the butter + sugar until “light and fluffy” took me way longer than the recipe suggests. But once I got it right, the crumb was really tender.
These smell AMAZING. I used a homemade pumpkin puree and the spice level felt just right—sweet but not overwhelming. Got fluffy tops too.
Not bad, but I think the batter is too thick with only 1/4 cup milk. Mine was like cookie dough. I added a splash more milk and then it was normal.
Yeah I ran into that too—mine was super thick at 1/4 cup milk. Once I added a tablespoon or two extra it finally looked like real cupcake batter and baked up much nicer.
Okay so I followed it but my batter felt really thick? I added like 1-2 more tablespoons milk and they came out fine. Still, the “alternating with milk” part was confusing for me.
I followed the steps exactly and mine domed a lot and cracked on top. Tastes great, but presentation wasn’t as pretty—maybe my oven runs hot.
These cupcakes are AMAZING! I made them for a family gathering and they were gone in minutes! 5 stars for sure!
I’m so glad to hear that! These cupcakes really do have a way of disappearing fast. They’re a hit for any occasion!
My batter looked thick, like really thick. I added an extra splash of milk and it came out better. Not sure if that’s just my pumpkin brand though.
Yeah, pumpkin batter can look *super* thick—especially with canned pumpkin that’s on the drier side. Your extra splash of milk makes total sense.
These look good, but how long do I bake them for again? Will they really come out good like the pic?
You bake them for 18-20 minutes. And trust me, they turn out amazing! Just like the picture!
I’m skeptical about the spices being too much, but honestly it worked. Ginger + cloves gave it this warm, cozy vibe.
Mine turned out a bit dense, I think I overmixed after adding the flour. Still tasty though—warm spice flavor is on point.
These pumpkin cupcakes are a fall must! So moist and full of flavor. Used cream cheese frosting as suggested and it complimented them perfectly! 5 stars!
Can u make them without eggs? I’m vegan and love pumpkin.
Too many spices for my taste. Could tone it down a bit.
These turned out super cozy and perfectly spiced. I used a toothpick at 19 minutes and they were moist—not dry at all. My family asked for seconds 😄
Simple and easy! Will make again for sure!
I’m so glad you found it simple! These pumpkin cupcakes are a fall favorite for sure!
I tried making these but they turned out super dry. Maybe I overbaked? 🤔
Cupcakes are cute, but the instructions mention frosting with cream cheese and then… nothing about the frosting recipe? Had to google. Still, the cupcakes are worth it.
Made these for a potluck at work, and they were totally gone! Everyone wanted the recipe. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
These pumpkin cupcakes were a hit at my party! Super moist and flavorful. Will definitely make them again!
These cupcakes are delicious! I’m definitely making them again for the fall!
Eww, pumpkin? No thanks. Can’t believe people eat this.
Made these for fall night and they were sooo good—warm spice smell right away. I ended up baking like 19 minutes and they came out perfect and not dry.
Yes!! The warm spice smell is the best part. I’m glad 19 minutes worked perfectly for you—mine are always borderline dry if I overbake.
I don’t usually bake, but these were super simple and turned out great! My kids devoured them.
Super simple? Are you sure you didn’t mess something up? I find baking pretty hard… maybe the kids just liked the frosting or something.
That’s awesome to hear! Baking can be tricky, but it sounds like you nailed it! 😄
The instructions say bake 18–20 min, but mine took closer to 24. Maybe my oven runs cold. Watch them closely or you’ll get slightly underdone centers.
So easy to make and they turned out great! My kids loved them!
My kids loved them! Thank you for this awesome recipe.
So glad to hear your kids loved them! They’re a hit in my house, too!
What is “canned pumpkin”? Like, pumpkin puree right? I used pumpkin pie filling and it turned into dessert soup… Learn from me 😭
Yes—“canned pumpkin” is pumpkin puree (usually 100% pumpkin, not pie filling). Pie filling has sugar + spices so it can turn things weirdly sweet/runny. Sorry that happened 😭 but your lesson is 100% valid!
I’ve done the same mistake before… pumpkin pie filling ≈ extra sugar and it totally changes the batter. Next time look for “pumpkin puree” on the can and you’re good. Thanks for the warning!
These turned out SO fluffy and the spice blend smells like fall heaven. I used fresh ginger instead of ground and still worked great. My kids ate two before they even cooled fully 😂
I didn’t have nutmeg or cloves, so I doubled the cinnamon. Tasted good, but it was missing that warm depth. Next time I’ll use the full spice mix.
Not bad. But my cousin makes better ones. Just saying.
Who knew making cupcakes was this easy? Love it!
Bruh, 18-20 min is not enough in my oven—more like 25. But once I adjusted, they were delicious.
Yum!
Pretty good, but I think my batter was thicker than expected. I ended up adding a splash more milk and they came out fine. Still very tasty.
These pumpkin cupcakes are a hit! Super moist and flavorful!
I followed the recipe, but they came out a bit dry. Maybe I baked them too long? Not sure. 🤷♂️
Honestly they came out amazing and the spices smell like fall. My kid ate two before they cooled. I’m stealing this recipe.
Mine came out SO good too—those spices seriously smell like fall in the oven. I also had to hide one from myself before they cooled 😅
Okay but did you really use canned pumpkin? I’ve had pumpkin baked stuff turn out dense before. Still… tempted to try—maybe I’m overmixing? lol
Followed the steps exactly and they came out great—balanced sweetness and nice spice. Only tweak: next time I’ll add a pinch more salt because I like it punchier.
I followed the recipe exactly, but they turned out kind of dry. Maybe I overbaked them?
1 tsp baking soda?? wow. i was scared they’d taste like soap, but no—just good spice. will do again
I’m skeptical about mixing flour with pumpkin and milk—seems like it might get gummy. But honestly, it wasn’t gummy. I’d make them again for fall parties.
Can I use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar? Can’t wait to try!
Yes, you can use coconut sugar! It might give a different flavor, but it should work fine. Enjoy your baking!
I don’t think coconut sugar will taste the same as brown sugar. Might be weird. Just stick to the recipe!
My frosting made them too sweet. The cupcakes themselves were good, but I’d cut the sugar in the cream cheese frosting or add a tangy vanilla.
These smell AMAZING while baking. I used a little extra cinnamon and they still came out super fluffy—definitely making again for fall gatherings.
Yes!! Mine also smelled like fall heaven the whole time. I love how fluffy they get—mine were gone way too fast at our gathering 😅
Why does it say canned pumpkin but not how much (like pumpkin puree)? I used pumpkin pie filling once… never again 😅
The recipe says bake 18-20 min, but mine took like 26. Either my oven runs cold or my cupcakes were way too full. Still tasted good though.
Do these taste like fall? I hope so! Gonna make ’em for thanksgiving.
Mine sank a tiny bit in the middle. I think I overmixed once I added the flour. Still tasted good though—just not as pretty.
That sounds pretty classic for pumpkin muffins—if they sank a bit, it’s usually overmixing once the flour goes in or the batter being a little too wet. Glad they still tasted good though! Next time, mix just until you don’t see dry flour.
These are sooo good! I can’t believe how fluffy they turned out!
Are you sure this is how you make cupcakes? Seems weird to use pumpkin. I’m not convinced.
Mine turned out a bit dry, so I’m thinking I overbaked them. Next time I’ll pull them closer to 18 minutes and check earlier.
I used pumpkin purée and it tasted kinda watery. Maybe my canned pumpkin was different? Still decent though, would make again but drain next time.
Hmm, mine turned out great with canned pumpkin and I didn’t notice watery at all. Did you maybe measure by volume (cups) and not weight? Also make sure you don’t overmix—too much mixing can mess with texture. But yeah, draining could help.
I’ve had that happen with some canned pumpkin—usually it’s a little more watery or less concentrated. Next time I’d blot it with a paper towel or simmer it briefly to cook off moisture before mixing. Glad they were still decent though!
Honestly, baking soda + baking powder AND all those spices seems like too much going on… but they rose well and tasted great. Confusing recipe, good result.
Totally get what you mean—those spices can feel like “overkill,” but pumpkin + warm spices somehow makes it work. Glad yours still rose and tasted great!
The spice blend is nice, but 1 tsp cinnamon feels like a lot. Next time I’ll cut it down slightly and maybe add a pinch of salt to the frosting (if you don’t already).
Interesting—mine came out perfect with the full 1 tsp cinnamon though. Maybe it depends on how fresh your spices are?
Totally agree—pumpkin desserts can get “cinnamon-forward” really fast. I usually do closer to 1/2–3/4 tsp and it still tastes great.
These are just okay. I thought they would be more pumpkin-y. 😕
Used pumpkin spice instead of individual spices and it worked fine! So easy and yummy!
That’s awesome! I love easy substitutes like that. Pumpkin spice is just cozy goodness, right? Can’t wait to try it myself!
Very solid recipe. I added a pinch more cinnamon just because I like it bold, and they still baked perfectly. Next time I’ll probably bake 1 minute less because my oven runs hot.
Love that you went bold with the cinnamon! My oven runs hot too, so that “bake 1 minute less” tip is gold.
I don’t get why it says let cool completely—can’t I frost warm? I tried and it melted 😭. Taste is still decent.
Really? Pumpkin in cupcakes? Sounds weird to me. Can’t imagine how that tastes.
Pretty good, but mine didn’t rise as much as I expected. I think I overmixed after adding the flour—next time I’ll stop as soon as it comes together like the instructions say.
Pretty easy! I was a little worried about the ginger/cloves combo but it tasted balanced. Could maybe use slightly less sugar if you like less sweet cupcakes.
I followed the recipe closely and the texture was great. Only thing: my tops cracked a bit, but they still tasted amazing with the frosting.
Love that you nailed the texture! Cracked tops can happen even when they’re still perfect—usually from oven temp or too much lift. If you try again, maybe check your oven runs a bit hot?
Honestly? 10/10 would eat again. Simple, warm, and the crumb is nice. Even my picky friend asked for the recipe.
Totally agree—these are cozy as heck. The spice blend is spot on, and my cupcakes had that same tender crumb. I swapped in oat milk once and it still worked.
10/10? Wow. I tried something like this before but my pumpkin flavor was kinda bland… did you use canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) or fresh? Asking for science 😅
I tried this recipe but it was too sweet for my liking. I think I would cut down the sugar next time.
I get what you mean! I love sweet treats, but sometimes it’s just too much. Maybe try adding some nuts for a savory touch?
Not gonna lie, my batter was thicker than expected. Still baked up fine, but next time I’ll measure the pumpkin carefully (mine was maybe smaller can?).
Maybe you just needed to bake them longer? My batter was always thicker for pumpkin stuff, that’s normal I think. I’d skip changing measurements unless it’s super dry.
I had the same issue once—my canned pumpkin was thicker and I ended up adding like 1–2 tbsp more milk. Baked fine though too.
Mine came out a little dense, not sure why. I think I overmixed after adding the flour. Still tasted great, just not as “light” as I expected.
Ahh that makes sense—once the flour goes in, overmixing can definitely make them dense. I usually stop as soon as I don’t see dry streaks. Did you mix on medium/low, or just keep going until smooth?
Mine did that once too. I think my oven runs hot and I pulled them a little late—maybe yours weren’t fully baked? Try checking at 16-18 min next time and don’t overbake.
One word: wow.
Not bad, but mine were a little dense. I think I overmixed after adding the flour—oops. Next time I’ll mix just until combined like it says.
Pretty good recipe, but mine domed a lot—maybe I overfilled? Also I baked closer to 21 minutes. Flavor is on point though, especially with the nutmeg and cloves.
Mine domed too once and I thought it was the nutmeg 😂 but it was actually that I didn’t mix the dry stuff well—some baking powder clumps maybe. Did you by chance use bigger muffin cups or overfill? 3/4 is what I follow.
Glad the flavor worked out! For the doming, 3/4 full is key—if the liners were closer to maxed out, they’ll arch a lot. Also make sure your baking powder/baking soda aren’t expired. 21 minutes would bake a bit more too, which can exaggerate the dome.
Not great! The batter was too thick. My cupcakes came out like bricks, not fluffy at all. 😩
I had the same problem! I think it might be the flour measurement. Did you pack it down? That can make it way thicker. 🤔
These smell *amazing* while baking. I followed the spices exactly and the pumpkin flavor came through nicely. Super cozy for fall.
I made these for a potluck and everyone kept asking for the recipe. Honestly I didn’t even measure perfectly (eyeballed the ginger) and they were still amazing.
The spices are kind of intense—cloves especially. If you’re not a fan of clove, I’d cut it in half. Otherwise, it’s delicious with coffee.
Made these last weekend—so cozy. The spice balance is perfect, and they stayed super moist even the next day. Would absolutely bake again!
“Super moist” is my favorite too, but I’m curious—did you really bake 18–20 min at 350°F? I tried pumpkin muffins once and they were kinda dense, like not enough leavening? Maybe I overmixed.
I love hearing they stayed moist the next day! Pumpkin cupcakes can dry out fast, so that’s a big win. 😋 What cream cheese frosting did you use—store-bought or homemade?
I don’t usually bake cupcakes, but this was straightforward. The instructions are clear enough even for beginners like me.
Agreed—this one is actually beginner-friendly. I followed it with no drama, and they rose nicely.
I tried it and it was kinda bland for me? Like, pumpkin flavor was there but not punchy. Also, I didn’t have nutmeg so I skipped it—maybe that’s why.
So good! I swapped the milk for oat milk and it still turned out great. Perfect for fall mornings.
These came out so fluffy and perfectly spiced. The pumpkin flavor is spot-on—not too sweet. I topped them with extra cinnamon and it was a hit!
